Thompson is not worth your time and money. He believes the slander from unethical peers rather than the facts and truth of the case and his client's best interests. He will allow you to suffer further due to his negligence, while charging you nonetheless, then drop you due to the damage his negligence caused without accomplishing what he was retained for. He will argue with you, further slandering and damaging you, to defend himself rather than admit any wrong doing. He is not in it to work. He wants easy cases that he will decide what is best for him, not you.

We made an offer on a country house that had an issue with the existing well. Three days before closing on the house our attorney, Ray Ferguson, called to say if the problem couldn't be fixed that the seller would set money aside in escrow to dig a new well. We expressed reservations about going through with the sale given that the well wasn't clear and there was a limit on the amount the seller had set aside to fix it. Our attorney told us that this was the customary way to handle the problem and he did not offer us any other options. We were discouraged from cancelling the transaction in spite of our concerns about the well. We trusted that our attorney was representing us and our interests. After the sale when we found out we indeed needed to dig a new well we discovered our property was within a certain distance from the nearby city's zoning limits and thus we would need to hook up to city water rather than dig a new well and because of that we would also be annexed. Long story short - we had to hire a new attorney, go to numerous zoning hearings, have meetings with the mayor, the water department, the health department, get quotes from well diggers, plumbers, etc. It is nearly 8 months from the closing date and we are just now getting a new well in. It cost us several thousand dollars more in new attorney costs to obtain a satisfactory outcome, not to mention the loss of time, expense, inconvenience and delay in not being able to move in to the new house or list our current house for sale. If Ray Ferguson had represented our interests at all he would have known that our situation wasn't "customary". We were not aware that being required to hook up to city water and being annexed were potential consequences and we certainly were not aware that it would take nearly 8 months from the date of the closing before we would actually be able to get a new well with clean water so that we could move in to the house. Never trust a lawyer that is recommended by your realtor.

He has provided excellent service during the happy times, closing on our first home 27 years ago to the sad times, guilding us through the legalities of my fathers passing. After being shot twice on a foot patrol as an armed security Metro Enforcement Officer in Rockford Illinois, it was assumed the case was a no brainer. Considering I had no fault in the manner you would think things like Physical therapy, mental health services, on time TTD benifits (weekly pay through Illinois Workers Comp) and getting the bullet removed from my shoulder along with other needed surgeries would have been a non issue. Gesmer along with Brad promised to go after Auburn Manor, the place where I was shot, and get me the services, medications and doctors appointments that were desperately needed but over the course of almost a year Gesmer law did not successfully accomplish one thing they promised to handle, this is not an exaggeration, it is a fact, they did not accomplish one single things for me. After almost loosing my leg these lawyers couldn't even manage to get me a single session of Physical therapy for it. With a bullet lodged in my shoulders I waited six months while they stood by and let me suffer through the pain, sending their emails and accomplishing absolutely nothing in my favor. Jim and Brad did nothing but go along with what Illinois Workers comp told them to and rob me of 20% of the pathetic settlement that was reached for sending emails. After doing the math I found that a fair settlement would have been over one million dollars, I walked away with less than 10% of that. Phone calls and emails often went unreturned for days even weeks as they were on vacation. They were not there for me they were there to help the insurance company deal with me and collect their fee. Not one thing was successfully completed by Gesmer law, they failed me at every turn, and shamelessly collected their fee. The insurance stopped paying me April 7th 2015 and did not send my settlement check until July 21st, for 3 months I didn't get a dollar of the pay I was entitled to, I almost lost everything. Feel free to contact me for an 11 page document with dates and pictures. There was no benefit to hiring these people they did nothing I couldn't have done for myself if the insurance wasn't allowed to ignore my phone calls and only respond to attorneys. By far the biggest and most expensive mistake I have ever made.

We used Mr Tarara because he was referred to us but next time I will be doing more research before hiring. It took me well over 6 months to evict someone from my home(that wasnt on my lease). He is horrible at returning calls or emails. I have contacted him multiple times and it takes him forever to get back to us. When he does respond he uses an excuse and says he will get back to us with in the week which is just a lie. Was suppose to serve the person for our loss and expenses and I have yet to know if this is completed.

I needed to get custody of my grandkids asap to get them out of a bad situation. My grandson was homeless and his sister was just in a horrible home situation. Nicole Beran explained what would happen and it definitely did. She fought for custody and stood her ground. She told me many times to ignore the threats from my son n law and his Atty, we were gon a get my grandkids and she was right. Nicole was always direct and to the point. She didn't let court drag out or get messy. It was done and over with in a good time manner.

11 Apr, 2022 by Nicole you are fired!
Nicole and the Epstein office were nothing but disappointing. The biggest waste of time and money and in the end, I had to find a new attorney. Nicole would take weeks to months to return emails and calls. I was never informed of upcoming court dates or what happened at each court date that she attended. I was completely clueless about my case. The few occasions I did get in contact with Nicole, she used excuses such as “sorry for the delay in communication, I am extremely busy” or “ I am really working hard on a game plan for your case and will contact you soon”. Nicole has completely failed in serving as an attorney and should have her license in the state of Illinois banned. I have read several reviews now and all seem to be similar to my god awful experience. For the sake of avoiding crippling depression, do not hire this law firm to represent you in any legal matter.

If you read any reviews before you hire this law firm, please take the time to read this one! I so desperately wish I had instead of just trusting a close contact referral. I had hired Anne Vecchio in March of 2021. It is February 2022 now as I write this. Back in March of 2021 she had helped me to file for full custody of my son. It was a straight forward case, I just wanted a parenting agreement in writing, as well as obtain child support. Over the summer we worked on getting the parenting plan straightened out, something the father and I worked on together with her advice of how to word some things. This was finalized in October of 2021. I also had completed my financial affidavit back in August of 2021 and sent that to the law firm. She then told me she never received these items. Fortunately I had made copies before I mailed them. I made copies again, and sent them certified mail this time in October 2021. Starting in November 2021, she had both parties financials, as well as the signed and initialed parenting plan. In November she continued the case in court, same for December and January. I never received an answer as to why. At this point TOO much money had been spent and I was getting frustrated that such a straight forward case had been continued so many times, when we had the papers done and finalized by October 2021. Mind you, every month another statement would come between $100-$300 when basically nothing had been worked on. Finally in January of 2022, I had fired Anne as my lawyer and she filed to come off the case. At our court date on 02/10/2022 the judge acknowledged her coming off the case as my attorney, and I went to file my motion to appear without counsel going forward, as well as submit the financial affidavits of BOTH parties. Something that should have been done by Anne back in November of 2021. When I was filing, I asked if the parenting plan had been submitted (which she said it had been 10 minutes prior in front of the judge).. and to no surprise, no record of our parenting plan was in the court system. So I filed that myself as well. It's also not a good look when the woman behind the window asked who my attorney had been, and the look in her eyes when I named Anne Vecchio. Basically, if you want to waste thousands of dollars, and get your court cases continued over and over... go with this law office. As a single mother when I originally filed, I am very disappointed of how I was taken advantage of by this law firm.

I've used a lot of Attorneys in the past and I'm not sure how she passed the bar exam. When I did have a court case she would show up late and very disorganized. I fired her after a few months and hired an attorney who could navigate through the court system without going to her other partners for advice. Now that the " sister in law" are out on their own because daddy pays for everything I really hope people start to read these reviews and go elsewhere. I hate to see people who work hard for themselves get taken by these two who were raised with a silver spoon in their mouths.

Do not hire this lawyer! She quoted a price for a simple divorce and after months of no communication with several calls made and messages left, I received a bill for twice the amount quoted - and it had an over 90 days late stamp on it. I was expecting money back and instead I get a bill for additional money. A lawyer should know what costs will be associated with what services. I was totally mislead. Not to mention her assistant never called back, knew we were expecting money back and never said anything to the contrary! DON'T HIRE!!

i hired Christine Taylor for a divorce and child custody case. She didn't even tell me that my divorce had been completed until two weeks after it was final. She wanted me to cave in to my exes lawyer on everything to end the process quicker. she was unwilling to take instructions and let personal feelings get in the way of my defense. I should have never been on the defense, my ex is the one who left her family for money and security. she had made a payment agreement that I was fulfilling. then decided because of something she assumed decided to make up the payment rules at a whim. even though we had a legal binding agreement. VERY BAD LAWYER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have been utilizing this attorney for the last 6 years on one single case. I have found it necessary to send the Disciplinary Board a letter on this attorney. Stating that she does NOT communicate. Further that she might be in violation of representing myself and possibly my Insurance company on other matters. A lawsuit is stressful enough without receiving stress from your own attorney. In my letter to the Disciplinary Board I provided at least 10 E-mails spanding 6 months where she did not reply at all, and all of my questions were basic and about my case. I created these 10 or so E-mails so the Board could see that she does not reply. Keep in mind that I have also called her and still receive no reply.

I was attorney Johnson's client for a year. When I retained him I had mix motion, but I did not have a choice. His goal was to find a settlement that was not in our best interest. As the case evolved, near the trial stage he made three recommendations. The one we selected was the one for our best interest, but he declined to execute. I request him to withdraw from the case, simply stated I fired him. Based on my experience with this attorney I would not recommended. Now, as pro se, he is refusing to forward me the documentation and emails. He is demanding for me to pay him the final payment for approx. $700 and refusing to give me a credit for $140. Be very careful before your retain this attorney for any legal work. Out of five stars, I would give him -2.

I hired attorney James Moore back in 2016. He is one of the worst humans to interact with, he treats his employees and everyone he comes in contact with disrespectfully. I was set for a formal hearing in May 2017 but had to cancel cause of my legal troubles, so he said we can still can pursue gettingmy driver license but it'll be another fee, so I was released from Idoc in July 2020, and paid the fee he asked for, he set another formal hearing in October 2020, and sent me to have a evaluation for additional payment. So this is my first meeting after my evaluation, I had to reschedule for a earlier time in the day, cause when setting this date he rushed his secretary and she wrote the wrong date for me, so when they notified me the day before, I said I have to come in earlier, cause I never schedule afternoons on my fiancé workdays. He makes his employees so scared they're nervous around him he talks to them with disrespect in front of clients so disrespectful to these women. So I show up for my meeting he asks why did I reschedule I told him why, then he asks personal questions about my family I dont need to answer, he gets offended when I intend to stay on subject of why I'm here. He gets hysterical curses at me, a client who has paid in full $3000 to be exact and when he realizes I won't tolerate his level of disrespect like his employees does, he gets very emotional. He says when I mention this and that in your formal hearing you won't get your license back. Then he says I quit I dont want to see you in my office again. After I paid him $3000 he gave me $500 check. His services aren't not worth it he's totally disrespectful. This is a unprofessional disrespectful individual.
