I worked with Caitlin on my divorce in the Rockwall County. She is very professional and always gave me good advice. She guided me and answered all my questions during the divorce process. Caitlin has good command of the law and understands how different Judge’s think and make judgement. She advised me on the next steps and predicted the Judge’s verdict which did not go wrong.
Caitlin is friendly, a good listener and approachable. She made me comfortable enough to share my personal matters with her. I like her honest approach to work, which is unlike other attorneys. She is cunning and smart but will not compromise with her ethics. She often advised me to not to do “XYZ” because then I will end up paying more money to her.

My husband lost a significant amount of money in real estate buying and leasing transactions using 1031 Exchange provisions. We are blessed to have Heath as our attorney (and his paralegal, Rikki). On our first meeting with Heath, we brought him a 1&1/2-inch binder, full of documents that I organized in chronological order with a table of contents. Heath read the documents and understood the complaints within 20 minutes. He was fast, thorough, a great explainer, and a real expert of his profession. I was amazed. He told us about the step-by-step legal process and what to expect. Also, his fee per minute is affordable compared to other attorneys. Can tell this guy will not fight for you. Just takes what he gets from the courts. When I talked with him about hiring him for my case he would even act standoffish and somewhat rude. Telling me there was a good chance of me going to prison. No good don't hire. I have now got me a real lawyer

Mr Jack Robinson is a wonderful lawyer! So many lawyers talk fast and want to destroy the client’s spouse, but Jack is kind and thoughtful. Mr. Lister should be on the top of the Best Top Ten List for Rockwall County attorneys. I was part of a Court Watchers group in a different county and have seen the worst. Mr. Lister, a retired Marine, is a man of integrity who served his country well. I spent many hours researching other lawyers before choosing Mr. Mark Lister. The research paid off in spades. He worked with me to bring an end to a 48 year marriage. He was honest about the difficult months ahead and the best approach to a ending with mediation as opposed going to trial. Mr. Lister never hurried through a meeting over the very difficult financial issues. He returned calls and emails within a reasonable time, a major issue with many lawyers. Nothing was overlooked in the mediation and final decree. My final bill was more than fair for the amount of hard work he put in to my case.

I am going to be honest! After my daughter came to me for help and looking for an attorney on very short notice and court date approaching less than a week I did not know where to turn. When I spoke to Mark I knew he was the attorney that we needed to hire based on his wisdom, openness to hearing every little detail of the custody issue, the time he put into the case, and feeling he truly cared about the case and well being of my grandson made it known to me he was the right person for the case. I just cannot speak enough about how much time he put into the case knowing we had very little time. Despite an incredibly easy and amicable divorce, Reimer managed to drag it out months longer than necessary. In fact, eventually my ex and I just hammered out an agreement ourselves, and had his lawyer forward it to my lawyer. I then had to harass him for a few weeks until he read it and presented it to me to sign. Tell me, what exactly were we paying him for? Oh yeah, apparently just to sit on his butt and collect retainer fees.

I would hire Troy Reimer and his law firm without a second’s hesitation, and I highly recommend hiring him for any family law matters that come up in your life.
I have served in the Army as a Paralegal for almost 20 years now. During that time, I have met quite a few lawyers, both full-time Army and reservists. I have learned a couple of things during that time. One, that just because someone has graduated law school and passed the bar does not necessarily mean they know what they’re doing.
When hiring a lawyer, you have to balance competence, price, and personality. If they or their staff does not know what they are doing, they are too expensive, or you cannot work with their personality, then you can take a bad situation and make it much worse.
When I had to hire a lawyer in Rockwall, I interviewed three different attorneys. Out of the three, I hired Troy Reimer because both he and his staff met the three largest criteria that I was looking for: competence, reasonable rates, and friendly personalities.
During the interview, I found Mr. Reimer to be optimistic but honest. There were outcomes that I was expecting that were not reasonable and he explained why asking for them would hurt our case. He was also the only one of the three that would give me an estimate of the total cost for the case.
My case had a few challenges. I was attempting to modify a divorce decree that was originally granted in Minnesota and subsequently moved to Maryland. It now had to be moved to Texas against the wishes of my ex-wife. Mr. Reimer handled that part of the case very efficiently.
Going into the next phase, the case was hindered by negotiations of matters outside the case. Talking these matters over with Mr. Reimer, he gave me the advice of putting my court case on hold so it would not adversely impact the other negotiations. I have met very few lawyers who advise their client to put a hold on a case because it causes the lawyer a delay in earning his hourly fees. I was quite impressed that Mr. Reimer would put my well-being above his personal financial gain.
Later, when my second wife and I split, we decided to hire one lawyer to handle the matter because we had come to an amicable agreement between the two of us on all the different matters. Since I had a legal background and I could have lawyers help me review the paperwork, it was agreed that my wife would hire the lawyer to protect her interests. I contacted Mr. Reimer, and he informed me that since my case was closed and this was a totally unrelated matter, it would not break any ethics laws for my ex-wife to hire him. Although it was legal, his advice was for her to hire someone else, so there would not even be the appearance of impropriety. Again, this placed ethical appearances above his financial gain.

Often times divorce is a hard concept to embrace. Working through the details can me overwhelming and emotional. I believe in family. I believe in marriage. As I sat across from Troy Reimer I remember asking myself "How in the world did I get here?" One by one Troy answered my questions, pointed me in the right direction, and helped me problem solve through the logistics of the process with confidence and ease. As the court day approached, I worked with Angela quite a bit. I found her to be professional, helpful, and practical. My divorce was complete in two months. On my court date, I found Troy and his legal staff to be efficient and knowledgeable. I felt they represented my best interest and created language in parts of the divorce decree that were unique to my situation. Even after the divorce was finalized I have contacted them for clarification and advice. They were professional and helpful. I would recommend Troy Reimer to my friends and family without hesitation.

First, in the consultation he will tell you he does not charge for phone or email conversations about the case, but when you get the bill the chargers were all there. We spoke about things in the consultation that he said he would do and were possible. Then once he was hired and he did not do them and they were suddenly not a good idea. Sometimes he took days and multiple calls to return a call or email. His office told me the wrong time to show up for court! It took me pushing and pushing him to get things done. His office filed the paperwork wrong with the court and delayed me getting my child support. I had to call to find out what the problem was and when I told him and his staff about it, they insisted what the court clerk had told me was wrong!! Then once everything is said and done, if you have a question about the paperwork he prepared (because he absolutely will not explain it well), he will not answer questions and will tell you he is too busy! I’ve dealt with a few lawyers previously and have never believed in the lawyer “rat” stereotype until I dealt with Michael. All around a horrible experience.

Everyone in this firm should be tested again to ensure they know the law. They will get defeated by a divorce for dummies handbook if the other side pulls out a reimbursement claim or a random 100K sadness fee (not making this up, they didn't know how to defend random fees the other side was putting in). They will take you to slaughter, charge you tens of thousands of dollars for work they didn't do and preparation they didn't do, and end up with literally the clothes on your back in the end. This firm has many complete losses on their record, in a community property and equitable outcome state they are okay with 99%/1% rather than 50/50 if they don't like you. Imagine paying a lawyer for a 99/1 outcome - they should close down this sham of an office so more Texans don't get hurt by their incompetence. My family recently was facing a huge challenge to keep our family together. Kim Timpa was a life saver in helping my family overcome a huge obstacle. The reviews I am reading could not be further from the truth given our recent experience. Our family is definitely a family on a budget and we were very concerned with being able to find competent representation in our legal challenge. Without the help of Kim Timpa at what was a very reasonable rate I have no doubt our family would have been separated. Keep in my mind our case was outside of her Rockwall roots and she still kicked a** Kim always took our calls and returned any messages promptly. In fact when it comes to having an investment in a case I can not recall having a more caring and knowledgeable attorney. Do not let the bitter reviews deter you from considering Kim Timpa for representation. It could cost you much more than money.

Terrible customer service! Spoke with Elizabeth "Betsy" Branch, owner, and she is so racist and unprofessional. Rates are outrageous. $300/hr. Really? Are you taking me to see the president? Laughing out loud. That is crazy. Owner was so disrespectful and kept interrupting before I could even explain my case. Would definitely not recommend this firm for anything or to anybody. A good attorney will respect your time and money, Jack does neither. He purposely encouraged discord and promoted drama, stoking the flames speaking to the opposing party on our dime. He ate up our fees with nonsense instead of filing the orders necessary to protect our estate. Jack ignored calls to take action, forgetting to file motions or waiting until the next billing cycle. He had a habit of not receiving court documents only to find out later they had been. There is NO WAY an attorney doesn't receive information that has been filed by the courts due to the checks and balances put in place. Jack entertained the opposing party where he should have been focusing on our needs. He failed to cross exam the opposing party that would have clearly proven our case of how incompetent the opposing team was. Due to his lack of attention, lack of ability to fight for us, and his inability to stand up in court to make a strong presence we were totally railroaded. Just look at his other reviews and you will see this is an issue with this attorney. Attorney's make money by how much time they spending on a case and this attorney lined his pockets with all talk and no action. Avoid this attorney at all cost.

We hired Jack for a custody case, we ended up spending $4500 and he did NOTHING. We let him withdraw as our lawyer and found someone else. Jack seems to get easily irritated when you ask any questions, he is NOT informed or up to date on things, he told us standard visitation was 45 days and we found out it is actually 42. He messed up on our discovery responses, and at one point in an email to the courts and opposing parties lawyer had the child’s name wrong. He was very back and forth on things and not very helpful. All he cared about was when he was getting more money, he didn’t actually give a care about his client or the situation and did not fight at all for anything.

J. Cameron Cowan took over 2k to charge us for a free consult, prior to us hiring him, didn’t know until we received the bill, never answered our calls,. Amanda Mulder was always out of the office for the day at 2pm, the day of discovery hearing we received an email that he filed to withdrawal from our case a week before! Claiming we were unresponsive, this lawyer is a crook!

Walked into her office and less then a week (6 DAYS, $833 PER DAY) the job was done. I had everything needed (POLICE REPORTS, PREVIOUS RECORDS, ETC.) to get supervised visitation set up for my daughter. My daughter's father did not fight the case and he signed the paperwork. THERE WAS NO COURT AND NO FIGHT - they charged me $5,000 (single mom, and they knew that I was not receiving child support) - UNBELIEVABLE!!!! Will not use this firm ever again and would not recommend anyone to their service!!!!!

A greedy person who knows enough to call herself a lawyer. Every brief communication will cost you, nothing is free with her because she is in it for herself. And don't expect her to be expedient...she isn't worried about your timeline, it will get done when she gets around to it and that will cost you more as well. My divorce was cut and dry, totally agreed upon between my spouse and myself...it took 7 weeks longer than it should have because she wouldn't accept our terms and kept trying to change them to what she wanted. There were weeks at a time when we waited for documents to be produced...and instead of asking for documents from us in the beginning she waited until the last moment to tell us what she needed from us. Very unprofessional, and very unorganized. At $250 an hour I suggest you look elsewhere.
