Farah Ahmed is a very capable and efficient lawyer. I chose Ms. Ahmed to handle my divorce because her firm was highly recommended by a friend of mine.
During my first consultation she asked a lot of questions about my situation. She mentioned a few problem areas that she would have to look into, but, at the end, she gave me a good overview of how the case would proceed and how it would end up. Her overview ended up being quite accurate.
Ms. Ahmed is very thorough and organized. She stayed on top of the case throughout, making sure that the necessary documents were supplied by both sides. She does not mess around and gets straight to the point. You shouldn’t expect a lot of chit-chat from her. Nevertheless, she is very pleasant and easy to get along with.
She was able to foresee multiple pitfalls and roadblocks and was able to get around them. Ultimately, she got me to a good resolution. I don’t think that I could have hoped for better.

I would hire Valerie Cavitt again without question. I have had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Casey and utilizing his services during one of the roughest periods of my life. Mr. Casey has represented me during a rather emotionally turbulent divorce proceeding. He has always demonstrated the qualities of integrity, skill, and professionalism beyond reproach. He is a man of intelligence who is skilled in his craft as a litigator.
I happened to have one of those "he said, she said" sort of scenarios with rather significant allegations. Mr. Casey was not phased by the task at hand. He was the best champion for my case I could ever ask for. His attention to detail was impeccable, and was able to illustrate for the court the inconsistencies in the testimonies of opposing counsel's witnesses.
Mr. Casey has two rules: be kind and polite to his office staff, and be honest and forthcoming with information. He will not judge you. He WILL be your advocate. However you must realize he cannot effectively do what he needs to do without honesty from you as a client. He cannot know to much about your case. I had already been around the block with divorce attorneys. Had been overtly frustrated by watching months pass and nothing getting accomplished, but wracking up large hourly bills. I had a toxic custody battle with my daughter's father that I started doing on my own. I was scared, overwhelmed, and completely confused about what the next legal steps were or even what my options were. The minute I hired Brita, it was like a huge cloud was lifted. She was empathetic of my situation and genuinely cared about my case. She was TOUGH. She didn't take any guff from the father or his attempted "shenanigans." I was overwhelmed with all the paperwork and questions when it came time to file for my divorce. After reviewing family law attorneys and reading reviews, I decided on Ms. Long. It was the best decision I've made. Ms. Long is on top of her game. She responded to all my calls and emails within a timely manner. Sometimes you hear about having to wait for calls for days from your attorney (or never calling in some cases). This was not the case with Ms. Long or her legal assistant. She thoroughly explained the process every step of the way. She reassured me when I was unsure. As a stay at home mom of two, now having to go back into the work force at some point, because of Ms. Long, I was awarded a very fair and equitable deal. Ms. Long had a lot of back and forth communication with the ex -spouses attorney, but in the end, I came out on top and was more than pleased with the outcome. She truly had my best interests at heart. One other thing, she gave me her personal cell phone number in case I needed it. I think I called it one time. What attorney gives you their personal cell phone number? I highly recommend this attorney. If I was not pleased with her services, this site would have that review. One thing I would also like to mention. My children are both currently in Jr. High School. I would have never thought to get 'post secondary education' verbiage in my divorce documents. My husband will be responsible for helping with their college education in the future. I never even thought of this (taking it day by day!) Thank you Ms. Long and staff.

I can't express how grateful to have Lisa Richardson as my lawyer, what I appreciate the most, is that Lisa always let me know what is a realistic view of the possibilities and outcomes ( though sometimes it was hard for me to accept at the beginning, but it turns out, things go down that route anyway ).
Lisa never sugarcoats anything and her team takes crispy actions to help me fight through this ugly divorce case.

Sunday is hands down one of the best lawyer I had the privileged of defending me. She was very open with her communication and knowledgable in the criminal defense space. I spoke with many lawyers and after speaking with Sunday, she was the clear choice. All the other lawyers were money hungry and didn't seem to care as much as Sunday did. Sunday walked me through the whole process and helped get my case dismissed all together. She is an extremely talented attorney, I was blessed to have found her and her firm. My court case is still ongoing but our first day in court she kept opposing counsel on his back foot. So much so that after constantly being objected to and having every one be sustained when the time came one was not he carried on as of it was. Truly amazing! She is well prepared in court, she came with everything needed digitally and hard copies in case the judge wanted paper in hand or there happened to be some technical hiccup. She concentrated on what was important to the case now and what could wait for later. So far I've been able to get what I've asked for and managed to keep custody of my 4 children, which were most important to me. James Parker is the main individual responsible for my victory in my small claims case. Although he advised me to represent myself based on the amount I was seeking, he devoted time to preparing me to do so knowing he had nothing to gain in return. I was a nervous wreck and was having difficulty sleeping due to the stress of trying to navigate the intricacies of my case, school, and work. James reduced my anxiety by encouraging me to pursue my case although the defendant had obtained a lawyer, directing me to the correct legal codes to make my case, and helping me understand what was expected of me as a pro se litigant. I went into the courtroom equipped with the knowledge he shared with me and was able to participate in jury selection, make my opening statements, testify, successfully object to a question, cross examine, and close. James did not stop there. He took the initiative to follow up on my case and gave me a call to congratulate me on my victory. You may think that any lawyer could have helped me do all of this, but I’m a firm believer in the notion that you can judge the character of a man by how he treats those who can do nothing for him. For that reason, I wouldn’t want just any lawyer to help me I would want to work with James.

I am here to tell you that I was in a dire situation in which I was going to loose my contact on a newly build duplex because of a piss poor communication between lender and the builder. When I say loose my contract, I mean with in hours the builder was sending me a cancel contract order. My real estate agent was no help at all and I need an advocate straight away to assist me. I was referred to Mr. Parker and was lucky to get him on the phone the first call.
I told him my situation and he patiently and graciously gave me solution immediately; over the phone. Yes, you read that correctly, over the phone. Thanks to him I was able to save my home and let out a huge sigh of relief.

I have been a client of hers for over a year and she is amazing. She responds to my calls and texts quickly and always makes me feel better. In the courtroom I was blown away by her skill and ability to argue in front of the judge and with her ability to question the witnesses and helping me to make sure my daughter is with me when my wife has tried to take her away. I was referred to Blayre’s practice by an attorney that I know and trust. He described her as “great” and “solid”. That’s high praise from an experienced partner at a different firm. I was immediately impressed when I called and spoke with a paralegal who took down the basics of my case to refer to the legal team. He was patient and caring, and he didn’t brush me off because I needed a consultation within 24 hours or because this would be a small matter per their usual case size. He called back in a couple hours and let me know that they weren’t able to help me in such a short timeframe, which I totally understood. The thing that caused me to write this review is that he went above and beyond what any other attorney or firm has done—he emailed me a few referrals as well as links to free legal advice and other resources! This shows me that this practice cares about helping people even if they’re not profiting from it. I will definitely call Blayre Peña in the future if God-forbid I’m up against another legal hurdle.

I had Jay Smith and my husbands attorney Randy Grimes was really taking advantage. I went to the courthouse and asked the secretary who beats Grimes...she secretly showed me three names. All women. I said now who is the bulldog out of the three and she circled teresas name. Teresa was considerate to my situation ... she saw and knew the tricks of my exes attorney. I interviewed over twenty attorneys before selecting Mr. McChesney. His vocal artillery is lethal in the courtroom. To behold my ex caught in a lie and unable to speak on the witness stand was priceless. I have never seen my ex speechless and Matt accomplished that feat like stealth tiger stalking his prey unnoticed; until the pounce and quick death bite. The classic line from Matt when my ex couldn't talk and was staring off into space was, "Your Honor, witness unresponsive"! The judge even cracked a smile and it took everything I had to keep from rolling on the floor and laughing hysterically. Matt is so unassuming and likable while questioning the opposition has no idea the brutal take down is coming. Literally, my ex was in shock and could not speak. Marty took my daughters case when no one else would. Fought it all the way to the full 5th circuit. Along the way he was consistently:
1. attentive and sensitive to the legal needs of the case, including all deadlines, court timelines, and our own numerous requests to understand what was going on and why it matters
2. detailed and correct in all legal filings; something that matters a lot when you go on appeal and you may not realize how important it is
3. upfront and honest about expenses to litigate, and our chances of winning a case when the law favors schools so heavily (they can basically do whatever they want to your kid and have few legal consequences)
In the end, AISD misled the court (some might say they lied) and got the case dismissed due to the structural problems in our legal system related to protecting kids from predators and school officials being protected by law when they hurt kids. However, Marty fought for our daughter when no one else would, including her school district.
Our experience was eye-opening about how the courts protect school administrators and predators. When all was said and done, I showed our court briefings to a friend who is a former deputy Solicitor General of the United States and after looking at Marty's work told me that it was some of the best he'd seen for a hopeless case like ours.
Bottom line, if your kid is harassed at school and they don't care, Marty will care. The law and courts may be stacked against you because of our screwed up system. You may not win, but AISD knows he's a pit bull for your kids, and he'll do everything possible to make them pay attention and solve the problem.

I was referred to Blayre’s practice by an attorney that I know and trust. He described her as “great” and “solid”. That’s high praise from an experienced partner at a different firm. I was immediately impressed when I called and spoke with a paralegal who took down the basics of my case to refer to the legal team. He was patient and caring, and he didn’t brush me off because I needed a consultation within 24 hours or because this would be a small matter per their usual case size. He called back in a couple hours and let me know that they weren’t able to help me in such a short timeframe, which I totally understood. The thing that caused me to write this review is that he went above and beyond what any other attorney or firm has done—he emailed me a few referrals as well as links to free legal advice and other resources!
