I was referred to Ms. Walsh by Fay Blix, Esq. as someone who could take care of the strange circumstances surrounding the sale of my co-op apt in a senior community. My co-signer and I are seniors. When my co-signer died unexpectedly during the sale, we were not able to locate papers he had written assigning to me all the proceeds of the sale since his interest in the co-op involved no money. He lived 400mi. away and the missing paperwork meant his “share” went to the probate of his estate to eventually be paid to me. I needed a lot of expert help to deal with all the complications which arose. The widow involved had no problem with assigning me the money, but the Calif. Probate had to be accomplished first. Ms Walsh was well-qualified to work with the widow’s atty to sort through the long process. She pro-rated all of our many, many emails and I was very pleased with her thorough knowledge and expertise with all aspects of this unusual case. It took over two years to finally get to the very successful conclusion and I am forever in her debt. I highly recommend her services! Since I had moved out-of-state, this all was handled by phone calls and emails. In fact, I have never met her, but she is a treasure!!

Cheryl is an outstanding attorney. After meeting with her for the first time, we knew we had the right attorney to take our case. After my mother passed, we discovered that her husband had filed a Quit Claim and moved the home into his name and into his trust. When he passed a month later, he passed the home to his brother. I was contacted by his attorney who wanted to get the house sold ASAP. We were able to delay the process until we found Cheryl who started the communication with the other attorney. Cheryl was amazing. She took control of the situation and handled the other attorney with strength. Cheryl knew the law and interpreted the trust according to the letter of the law. In the end, we won the case and the home is to be put back in the original trust. Cheryl and her staff, Taylor, Robin and Maggie are just outstanding. I can’t say enough about them. If the need arises, I would not hesitate to use Cheryl again and I would certainly recommend her to anyone that is looking for and exceptional estate attorney.

I highly recommend Tom Reinecke and his Law Firm: He was truly dedicated to my case, and fought hard for two long years until we got an equitable settlement from one of the toughest insurance companies in the area. In my opinion, he is the best Motorcycle Accident lawyer in Orange County/SoCal. Michael B.

About 5 months ago I was rear ended on my bike on the fwy. My injuries were extensive. I couldn't work. The bills were piling up and I was afraid of losing everything I had. Hiring tom was the best decision of my life. He took over everything from the day I hired him. I finally felt like someone was on my side. He got me a great settlement. Had my bike fixed with no fee. Even got my gear replaced. I never could of done what he did on my own. I thank him every day and recommend him highly if you are unfortunate to be in an accident like me.

I hired Tom to handle my case after consulting with several other local attorneys. He was by far the most attentive and personable of all that I talked to. He was great to work with and went above and beyond to get me a more than fair settlement. Tom was great at keeping me informed and making the process as easy as possible. His fees were more than fair and while I hope to never need his services again, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend or hire him again.

Do not hire unless you like to be cursed at during conversations. I hired Matt for help on a family document and he became very aggressive during a q&a session, lost his temper, and offered to just write 'whatever I wanted' instead of trying to address the situation. Extremely unprofessional.

I recognize Matthew Moses a tech-savvy, diligent and knowledgeable lawyer. We were working together on agreement for dissolution of my marriage which could cost me an untold fortune due to countless number of revisions, editions and translations, unless at some point we started managing documentation in the cloud leveraging multi-user edit and real-time access advantages comparing to good old files exchange via (e-)mail. No doubt this approach helped to improve the turnaround time, transparency of process and effectiveness of communication for all involved parties. Besides of that I was extremely satisfied with every action and recommendation of Matthew and his partners. There just were no reason for doubt or stress with all the confidence, accuracy and serenity provided in each word from my attorney. To summarize, hiring Matthew Moses for driving my dissolution of marriage down to the finish line was the second best decision of my life after coming up with decision of dissolution itself. God bless California Family Law and Matthew Adams Moses!

We're to start with Matthew? I cannot say enough great things about this attorney. Were I will start is that he is extremely knowledgeable, responsive and compassionate with your issues and your case. He is also very vigorous and forcible on the opposing councel to not "beat around the bush" and respond quickly to any requests, so that there is a minimum amount of time lost. He is highly efficient and effective. He is definitely the guy you want by your side, going through the worst time of your life(or best, depending on your situation). He is becoming a true powerhouse in the Family Law arena. I can truly say that I was fortunate to have him on my side.

I will not support anyone who didn't support a victim of MeToo! I feel he was influenced for money or false information. He didn't have the facts and continued with accusations he knew or was unaware that had happenend.

Mr. Corfield helped me win a settlement in a very sensitive business matter that other attorneys told me was a "no win" case. I had one other lawyer before him who dropped me as a client when the other side hired an aggressive lawyer. Mr. Corfield took my case and got me a settlement I was happy with. He always returned emails and calls in a prompt manner and he always made me feel like my case was important to him which I greatly appreciated. I highly recommend.

We (my husband and myself) hired Robin Black approximately one year ago to represent me in regards to a traffic accident that happened to me. She has been prompt in giving us any changes in status, very knowledgeable and patient in explaining to us how things in the car insurance business work. We feel well represented so far and trust her with our case. We feel her firm is reliable and interested in getting the best result possible for us. Robert Johnson Jr. is very friendly and when we call, Robin has kept him updated about our case so when she is not there - he is able to answer my questions for me if I am in a hurry, otherwise Ms. Black gets back to me promptly. Their service and legal experience is well worth their rate and our experience has been a pleasant one.

I hired this lawyer along with her associate Robert Johnson Jr. of the same office in 2005. Since then, she and her cohorts have conspired against me to work with another client surreptitiously behind the scenes in violation of the Rules of Conduct for attorneys prescribed by the State Bar and I have reported them both to the State Bar of California twice now, for violating my rights to attorney-client and work-product privileges. What ever happened to a conflict check prior to advising clients adverse to one another who both used to be co-clients??? I advise anyone contemplating hiring this attorney, or her associate Robert Johnson Jr., to be very wary. My opinion is that they are not trustworthy and if I could give a minus 10 score here I would.

Coviello "represented" me in a case against my employer which was an easy case. They violated the law and he commended me on my research. However...he also made an agreement with my employer to be their representation in the future and recommended I take a meager settlement. I was young and naive and thought that he was fighting for me...but instead he fought for an easy payout (50% on a slam dunk case). He is TERRIBLE. And I would NEVER reccomend!!!!

Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case.
  3. Disciplinary Record:

Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field.
  6. Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation.

  8. Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

  1. Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as contracts, correspondence, legal notices, court papers, or evidence.

How Much Does a Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a lawyer varies widely based on several factors:

  • Fee Structures:
    • Hourly Rate:
Lawyers may charge anywhere from $150 to $500 or more per hour, depending on experience and location.
    • Flat Fee:
For routine legal services like drafting a will or handling an uncontested divorce, lawyers might offer a flat fee.
    • Retainer Fee:
An upfront payment against which the lawyer bills hourly fees.
    • Contingency Fee:
Common in personal injury cases; the lawyer receives a percentage (typically 25% to 40%) of any settlement or award.
    • Monthly Retainer:
For ongoing services, businesses might pay a monthly fee for a set number of hours or services.
  • Factors Affecting Cost:
    • Complexity of the Case:
More complex cases require more time and resources, increasing costs.
    • Lawyer's Experience:
Highly experienced lawyers may charge higher fees.
    • Geographic Location:
Legal fees can vary significantly by region or city.
    • Additional Expenses:
Court filing fees, expert witness fees, travel expenses, and administrative costs may be extra.
  • Estimating Total Costs:
Request a detailed fee agreement outlining all potential costs.
Discuss any additional expenses that may arise during the case.
  • Negotiating Fees:
Some lawyers may be willing to negotiate fees or offer payment plans, especially for clients with financial constraints.
  • Pro Bono Services:
For those who cannot afford legal services, some lawyers or legal aid organizations offer services at reduced rates or for free.
