If you're in need of legal representation, please take my review into consideration. Ive been sucked into the family court system for almost 10 years in a high conflict custody case. This is why McNutt Law should be your first choice as they are in my opinion the best law firm in Hays county. I had the pleasure of having Mr. Jordan as an Amicus on my case, after having representation and being pro-se at times it seemed that other attorneys would be more interested in "winning" the case and not thinking of a long term resolution for a healthy co-parenting outcome. During one of our hearings I requested an Amicus but a Hays county Judge would not appoint one. Mr. Jordan willingly stood up and agreed to represent my children. Over several months he met with my children at my home, their schools, and at my ex's home. He reached out to my childrens teachers principles and some relatives. I believe he did this so he could better represent them and I believe in the end he had a reasonable resolution and outlined a workable agreement for both parties. He was very open in communicating when the meetings would take place and was very accommodating to both my ex and myself in scheduling the meetings. His dedication to this case was unmatched to any attorney Ive worked with previously. Mr. Jordan didn't take anyone's side he was truly thinking of what would be in the best interest for my children. He listened to what my children had to say and took that into consideration when making his final decision. The McNutt Law firm was accommodating during this difficult time. I never felt as if I was being pushed to the side or left out of the loop as they had open communicationfrom the beginning. I received emais, text messages, and phone calls in a timly manner. This team is very efficient and I wish I had chose them to represent me. Again, McNutt law did not represent me they represented my children but I still felt as though they gave me the same fair attention as if I was a client. I hope this helps you in an making your decision.

For anyone looking for representation without judgment, please consider Matthew Maldonado. We found him after having a horrific experience with another lawyer whom we had to fire. He represented a member of my family and he was professional, soft-spoken, and patient. He made the legal process less intimidating feeling as if you are in good hands and safe. Give him a call if you are looking for a lawyer that really cares.

This experience has been challenging for me, particularly due to my representation by Mr. Mendoza. If you seek an attorney characterized by loyalty, diligence, a focus on your case, and the respect of peers, one who attends all court dates and maintains a strong rapport with clients while prioritizing their best interests, Mr. Mendoza may not be the suitable choice. Despite initial promises, my case suffered from a lack of attention and accountability. Despite diligently completing requested tasks, such as a Good Guy Packet, the information was not utilized. Mr. Mendoza missed court appearances, demonstrating a failure to uphold his responsibilities. Communication was lacking, with unanswered emails and calls. My experience prompts a cautionary note: Mr. Mendoza's focus seemed more aligned with the prosecution, leaving me dissatisfied. I wouldn't entrust him with representing my hamster, and I strongly advise against allowing Mr. Mendoza to be your legal representative to avoid potential pitfalls. Learn from my experience; choose wisely.

David, Tony, Kyler, and the rest of the team at their firm are beyond professional and ore than you could ever ask for from a legal team. Never hae questions gone unanswered, court appearance not been productive, communication not been responded to... Worst family attorney in Texas. I retain McNutt as my attorney in October of 2021. McNutt move my case out Texas child support court and into Hays County Family Court. After paying McNutt Law Firm nearly 3000 dollars she then requested a motion to withdraw from my case on day 7 o March of 2022. She withdrew from supposedly for bad client and attorney relations. Basically she took my money and left me to defend myself with no specific reason at all. I got proof of everything I am writing. My advice to anyone is to not retain McNutt as your attorney in family court if you want a good outcome in your case. She may do some good work for some of her clients but not for all and my case proves that beyond reasonable doubt. I am a real person and I have proof to show that this is a bad law firm, especially if you value your money and expect a good outcome. Don’t end up like me. You might find yourself in the same situation if you retain Jacqueline R. McNutt as your attorney. I can prove my claim, reach out to me if you want to know more.

Mr. Hays legal assistant kept my Wife and I in the loop and always answered our questions. Everything, ultimately, worked out!!! We even followed the preceding online which we loved a lot. We won our case and after reading the judgment, Mr. Hays presentation was sharp, attentive and straightforward... Anytime anyone asks me if I know an attorney, I give them Mr. Hays number! Mr. Hays has assisted me with an extremely difficult and highly complicated case that ended up going to the Supreme Court and back. He has been my attorney now for more than five years and has always been informative, compassionate and very detailed in his explanations of where our case was and what we needed to do next. He has been a rock for myself and my son during all of these years of litigation and has consistently represented us with grace, dignity and professionalism in a case where the other side did their best to make my son's life a three-ring circus. I give him the highest recommendation and have referred many people needing assistance with family law issues to him and will continue to do so. He is an excellent attorney and a good man. His assistant has shown an incredible amount of compassion and has been a firm hand to hold when we needed one, as well. He kept my son safe and I am extreme grateful for his professionalism and willingness to be there for us through so many years of difficult and complicated legal issues.

I went to Mr. Hays on a recommendation by a counselor who said that I had to have a lawyer. I paid a $250 consultation fee and after looking over my papers and letting me describe my legal situation involving my son, child support, expense reimbursements, charges filed against me by my ex-husband. Mr Hays assured my that he is board certified and that he could take care of everything. He told me he needed a $3,000 retainer if he were to represent me and my son. I did not have a good feeling about him as he didn't ask me any questions and seemed remote and unfriendly. I consulted with another board certified attorney who asked all the questions Mr. Hays would not, and was very concerned about my case, but he was leaving the country for a vacation. As he was thinking about how I could find someone on a limited retainer, I told him about Mr. Hays. The 2nd attorney said that he knew Mr. Hays and that he would be a "bad boyfriend, but a good attorney." So being in a situation where I desperately needed a lawyer, I took out a car loan for the $3,000 retainer and gave it to Mr. Hays after which my legal nightmare ensued. At first, his legal assistant was very rude when I called for information. But when I did get to talk to Mr. Hays about my case, he would either refer me to his legal assistant, or to a court ordered counselor that my ex's attorney referred to as a "drug counselor" for my son. It turned out that the counselor she named was not a "drug counselor as she claimed in court. This counselor ended up being assigned as a "Parent Coordinator which was never issued by a court order, nor was it agreed to by me. Mr Hays kept telling me that this counselor was going to negotiate the terms of the legal situation and oversee my ex husband's behavior and actions. Mr. Hays did nothing in response to the charges filed against me by my husband and I ended up with a judgement against me. Mr Hays did nothing about my ex's claim that his income was $3,400 per month despite having a busy contracting firm, living in an exclusive neighborhood, and frequently vacationing. He did nothing to get what was legally owed to me for sports, music lessons, and the health insurance I pay for. He consulted with the opposing attorney without my informing me that he was doing so. During this time, I was so panicked because I knew he was neglecting my case. I consulted with another attorney who could only referred me to the state bar, and I relayed all this to a counselor I was seeing for all the mental distress and panic I was experiencing. It was and continues to be a nightmare. My credit is ruined, and I am financially struggling. If I had the child support and expenses I was due, I would have paid for sports fees, SAT training, school clothes, etc. that my son needed by never obtained. It is my opinion that Mr. Hays chose to neglect my case. The bad feeling I got when I first met Mr. Hays haunts me as I should have listened to my instincts. I've experienced discrimination many times since moving to Texas as a child.

Mr Parash is an apathetic, sad-sack attorney that deserves to be disbarred for his abject apathy, total lack of responsiveness and complete and utter disregard for his clients. He will look you straight in the eye and lie to your face. He won't even bother to read emails, text messages, court documents, or prepare for hearings, no matter the urgency required. He shows up late for hearings and appointments (if he bothers to set appointments with you). He'll ignore all forms of communication for MONTHS ON END. When things are most pressing, and EVERYTHING is at stake, that's exactly the precise time when he'll abandon you. STAY AWAY!!! He's the very epitome of the scumbag attorney. When you finally get fed up and refuse to be a pushover and call him out, he actually has the gall to demand your respect. What a joke! Then he'll say something like "I feel really bad about your situation....blah blah....you're really getting a raw deal..." Oh yeah buddy, then DO SOMETHING!! Lift a finger to help. Return a phone call. File a motion. Read an email!! He does not operate with any modicum of urgency. He does not care if your life is being destroyed. I had to fire him the very day of a critical hearing because he didn't lift a finger to help me and my son. Do not rely on him (or you'll find yourself saying "your honor, I have no idea where my attorney is...", and suddenly your beloved children will very soon be separated from you. This guy will lead you to ruin. BE WARNED!! PS -- if you don't believe, please read other reviews online. Here are common blurbs: 1) "Paul did indeed sound drunk most of the time we spoke..", and 2)"...he total scum of the earth...", and 3) "...he was a complete joke! He showed up to court late, he looked hung over, he did no research to back up what he was fighting for...", and 4) "...this man is the worst attorney i have ever witnessed...", and, here's the doosie of them all: 5) "What a sleazy piece of garbage. The man is rude. He should be lined up against a wall and shot! " Keep in mind these are all different reviews. Google Birdeye for these. More importantly, if gets appointed to your case RUN!!!!

Firstly, let me acknowledge that family law is an inherently negative process and, while I recognize that, Lynn and her team made it exponentially more stressful than it should have been. My case wasn't big; I didn't put down tens of thousands of dollars for a retainer. Which is why, I believe, I was treated like a second class client. When I would ask for an update, I was told that Lynn was in court or had a deadline coming up so I'd have to wait. I was very patient for 6+ months...I understood that the holidays caused delays, I empathized when their whole office got sick in January, I accepted further setbacks when I was told opposing counsel was on vacation, I tolerated Lynn's various discovery deadlines and court dates (unrelated to my case). But eventually, my patience waned. Trying to touch base on my case, I asked for a phone call. I was brushed off due to her other work demands or flat out ignored. After 3 failed attempts for a phone call meeting, I gave up and resorted to emails only...which lead to a host of other problems including miscommunication, further delays, and (of course) a large bill. 9 out of 10 documents I received were sloppily done with very little attention to detail. I had to point out common grammar mistakes and, more often than not, there were important parts of the motions/orders written incorrectly or simply did not reflect what we had discussed. (E.g. One of the first order versions sent to me, the terms "respondent" and "petitioner" were mixed up thereby identifying each party incorrectly. Another where the county was incorrect. Another where the motion was for a divorce (I've never been married). And, sadly, I have more examples but won't list them here. PRO TIP- When you receive documents to review, the files must be downloaded to your device or the formatting will be off (previewing alone will mess with the formatting). I learned this at the very end of my case. Had I been told this prior, it would've saved me time, money and frustration. Their billing practices are another problem. I once sent an email very clearly asking 4 questions; I labeled then 1., 2., 3., & 4. Their reply? One sentence telling me they haven't worked on my case and, later that day, I received an invoice for $15. While I will gladly pay for services rendered, $15 just to tell me no work had been done does not sit right with me. Additionally, some invoices are nondescript. I've received invoices for "Staffing" or "Correspondence" or "Email". Which left me with questions such as: What correspondence? To whom was the email? And what exactly does "Staffing" even mean? Sometimes I'd ask for an explanation, one time I even received one! But, for the most part, my inquiries would be left unanswered or I was too afraid to ask for fear of being billed for the billing details (which should've been included in the first place). If you hired this firm and are in a similar situation, I'm sorry. If you want to get your case worked on, you have to beg and plead and keep on top of them constantly, all of which is going to cost you money. In the end, it took 8 months, thousands of dollars, countless emails and a global pandemic (when their office was slow because courts were closed) to finally reach a resolution in my case. Had my persistence and the COVID-19 quarantine not occurred, I truly believe I'd still be in the midst of this nonsense. So my advice is this: Unless you have unlimited resources and time, find another attorney that actually cares and has time for you. And if you're dealing with custody issues, do NOT pay attorneys to negotiate on your behalf. Submit discovery then go to court and/or mediation - it'll save you time, money, and sanity in the long run.

I had a pretty airtight custody case where my ex kidnapped/withheld my child. Lynn did next to nothing to help resolve my issue. I could have done the same if I had represented myself. She never fought for me in court, never brought up all the terrible things my ex was doing to my child or expressed the terrible living conditions. I had several terms I wanted put in my court order and Lynn ignored my requestes to do so. Fast forward several years and those failed requests are costing me tens of thousands of dollars. She is very nice, easy to talk to and in your initial visit will make you feel like she is a tough lawyer that will win your case. In reality, once hired, she’s very tough to get ahold of. Often had to call her more than 20 times over a month before she would call back. Would only get texts saying “in court. Call you later.” She had another profile on Avvo that had several negative reviews but that profile is no longer on here You’ve been warned

After having Mr. Jett as a court appointed attorney for 2 misdemeanor cases. He was not very communicative. he just kind of rode the time out for the appearance dates, and after degrading, disrespecting me by using certain words to tell me that my chances of winning would not be "high" in a conservative county, nearly cornering me into accepting the plea. I fired him at that hearing. Lazy, Unpredictable, not a good council at all.

Trust me when I say to find another lawyer. He was impossible to contact. He and his partner presented themselves as pit bulls and when it came time for trial he was a chihuahua. When he lost my case he abandoned me.
