When you are the parent of a child with special educational needs, and you begin searching for a civil rights attorney, it probably means you’ve had some pretty horrible experiences. When I got a call from our young son’s principal, and she began using terms I could not understand, I knew we needed help to get him an IEP immediately. Windsor Law is an incredible firm, and hiring them was the best decision we ever made. Jane and Mitch are the perfect blend of experience, knowledge, and compassion. They will do whatever is within their power to get your child the support he or she needs and is entitled to. Not only do they represent you, but they also teach YOU how to advocate for your child. That alone tells you the type of people they are and what they prioritize. They give practical advice, such as “make friends,” which is not always obvious in the chaos that often surrounds education-related issues. This simple advice helped us get into a problem-solving mindset, which proved to be helpful and productive in the long run. They also are not in the business of making false promises. When we were asking for things that were outside the scope of what is allowed, Jane’s response to me was “I will do my best, but I am not God.” It made me laugh, because we needed that kind of real guidance. It’s scary to hear certain things about our kids. Jane and Mitch do not shy away from having the tough conversations, and I am so grateful for that. Of course, they will also guide you through the entire process. I am an attorney myself, and there were times I talked to Jane about deviating from her proposed strategy. In retrospect, I am so glad I followed her advice instead of thinking I knew better. Jane and Mitch know the system. They are experts in this field, and no one knows it better than they do. They never steered us wrong. In fact, our son is now in a school he loves and where he is loved. He has a 100% attendance rate. He has a teacher that includes him. He completes all his classwork and participates in activities. He’s gone from being in the 1st percentile to being in the 50th percentile in English in less than a year, because he has the support he needs to thrive. I have no doubt that he will soon move out of the middle and into the higher tiers. He is so smart and is finally able to shine. He comes home happy every day and even asks to go to school on weekends. I cannot express how much the simple decision of hiring Windsor Law has changed all of our lives for the better, including our home life, which is a lot more positive and hopeful nowadays! Attorney Scully was very knowledgeable and experienced with Work Comp claims. I so appreciated that I could have a phone appointment at my convenience. He listened to all my concerns. I was So relieved to have an attorney fighting for my best interest. There was much I was not aware of. I chose to have an attorney due to the aforementioned issue. I stopped receiving calls from Work Comp as they were putting alot of pressure on me to get back to work. I was told by Mr. Berlin the owner on the initial phone consult that I would be real glad I got an Attorney. I am so happy with my final settlement, all Attorney Scully did for me. One specific example is I have a portable Tens Unit that is So effective in bringing pain levels down and accelerating the healing process. I will continue to heal, now with the settlement no concerns to rush into another job. I can just relax, take care of myself, having no financial concerns.

It is truly difficult to find the words to express my gratitude to Robert Hoffman. Not only does he return emails with laser-like speed and precision -- including that very first time when I wrote to him on a Sunday morning -- he is dispassionate and committed. I am extremely fortunate to have found Johanne to represent me for my divorce process. Unfortunately, I did have a previous attorney who I had to fire due to his lack of being strategic, horrible communication, and feeling like just a number. We have all heard those stories, and with him it was true.So, I am writing this review while we wait for the Judge’s Order to be finalized. YES, prior to the verdict and Order by the Judge. Therefore, I am writing this glowing review of Johanne regardless of the outcome.
From day one, Johanne was strategic and thinking outside the box on our case, which should have settled but my soon to be ex-wife was well... stubborn to put it nicely. Anyway, Johanne was extremely thorough and well prepared throughout the process; even though her home was horribly impacted by multiple hurricanes with the last 2 (Helene and Milton) which was devastating. During court yesterday, she apologized if our divorce exhibits had a musty smell, but she took them with her when she evacuated.
Johanne, made sure that I was extremely well prepared along the entire process from mediation, my deposition, digging for info to help her with the deposition of my soon to be Ex, our practice sessions for both my deposition and full day on the stand, as well as calling me out on areas of improvement.
Her thoroughness was evident during the trial with her exhibits, questions for me, questions for the ex (which got under my Ex’s skin :-D), her objections, and thinking on the spot with some “drop the mic” moments. BOOM! Versus the other attorney that well…didn’t.
This process of over 21 months was not at the fault or lack of attempts by Johanne to have this case settle. As she put it, 99% of cases like mine would settle, unfortunately ours did not.
Needless to say, it is a financial and emotional rollercoaster and Johanne was extremely supportive, caring, and a positive influence. She heard me and I felt that she was 100% on my side.
We are all human and I love the fact that she recognized that fact, and brainstormed with me to make sure that all the relevant points were covered at various stages of my divorce process.
I highly recommend Johanne Shoffstall if you are looking for a strategic, hardworking, professional and caring attorney. Thank you so much Johanne!!!

Horrible people ! I straight up fired them and they still harassed me on a daily basis to sign checks for them. Worst law firm I have ever dealt with. I would NEVER recommend anyone use their services. The BAR will be hearing from me about how you all handled my case from beginning to end. Took over 8+ months to get my ALE that they said they were not going to fight for , then when I pushed the issue they finally looked into it for me after 8+ months. I called to get a copy of my statement and I got told " No one in our office likes you , you have been nothing but rude " then proceeds to hang up on me. Again I would never recommend anyone to use this law firm. I fired them through email and they still continued to contact me and did not remove themselves as counsel after several letters informing them I did not want them representing me any further. Run run run. Find a different place.
