She takes a compassionate and prescriptive approach to something that is hard to wrap your mind around and explains it in terms that are easily understood. I first learned about Angel's services through a "Wine & Wills" event she hosted in Seattle, and I was very impressed by the level of information she shared and the way that she educated about the great importance of considering how we'll leave our affairs after we pass, and how this really does affect all of us. I scheduled an exploratory call with her afterwards that my husband could also attend. It did require a little preparation, but nothing crazy and everything that was requested was totally necessary to having this conversation. At the end of that call, she showed us all of our options and it was easy to understand what would work best for what my husband and I wanted and valued for our family! Working with Angel now, the trust is almost 100% "funded", meaning that should I pass away early, or my husband precede me in death, the other will have an easy, relaxed, peaceful experience, and can focus on grieving rather than worry about our assets be unduly taxed, caught up in lengthy and stressful probate court proceedings, or even become stranded where the surviving spouse does not have the proper permissions with the banks, etc and is unable to access parts of the estate. The way Angel's services work, is that after you pay the flat fee, you have her support for life. This has worked out great for us, as it took us a while to actually complete the actions. Knowing we can reach out with any questions going forward is very comforting. She really does care and is very thorough with the legalities. We feel confident that our affairs are in order now that we have our wills, power of attorneys (medical and financial), and revocable living trust in order. Thank you so much Angel!

I was referred to Kelley Duggan by my real estate attorney, John Forderhase at Forderhase Law & Escrow, and I can't thank him enough for the recommendation. I was in the process of purchasing a property from a seller who hadn’t completed the probate process after his mother passed away in 2001. Since John didn’t specialize in probates, he referred me to Kelley at Holmquist & Gardiner.
From the very beginning, Kelley was extremely knowledgeable and reassuring. She immediately took action to resolve this complex issue, which involved going back over 20 years to locate the seller's mother's will. He's a scoundrel and is against the interests of his clients. I had a case that was impossible to lose. While incarcerated, he refused contact. On the last day for speedy trial, with absolutely no preparation, he asked where I was. Obviously, in jail. I couldn't afford to not plead guilty to bogus charges filed by the bellevue pd. I was afraid of losing everything if I remained incarcerated any longer. He's a fraud and needs to be criminally prosecuted and locked up permanently. I don’t even think he ever studied law. Pathetic.

My complaint is not so much with off the record, but rather the attorney they referred me to. If OTR is going to be a referral service then they need to do a better job of vetting out the attorneys and if they are referring hack attorneys then they need to stand up for what is right and take care of the customer as I had no involvement on who was selected to represent me. I received a speeding infraction far from where I lived on 5-27-17 and would not be able to attend the court hearing on my own time. I did a google search and found that off the record served the county that I had an infraction in. On 6-1-17 I paid for the service and was assigned Andrew Nguyen based out of Seattle to handle my case. I received an initial email from Andrew the same day sayin he would be happy to handle my case and was sending in my ticket to request a court date. After the initial email about a month had passed without any further communication from OTR or Andrew so I reached out to Andrew Nguyen asking for an update with no response. After that I check some OTR reviews with bad communication being a reoccurring theme, but with positive outcomes being the end result most of the time so I went on with life. Then in mid-September I received a certified letter from the County dated 9-12-17 stating that due to a Failure to Appear in court if I did not pay all fines and fees in full my license would be suspended on 10-19-17. At that time I called Andrew Immediately and left a voice mail about the letter I received. A couple hours later I got a call back from Andrew and he assured me that the letter was a mistake and he would take of it for me. About a week went by without an update from Andrew and I called back asking for an update. He said he was still working on it and will get back to me, I then reminded him that I only had 15 days since the issuance of the letter to respond contesting the letter or I was going to be forced to pay the fine. He reassured me again that he was going to take care of it and not to write in my response to contest the letter. BTW by not responding to the letter as advised by the attorney I affectively gave up an last rights I had at a fair hearing and the opportunity to defer the ticket as a last resort. Another month had gone by with little communication from Andrew Nguyen and I was only a week away from having my license suspended I called Andrew again and asked if he had made any progress with my case and at that time he confessed that he did not. I reminded him that my driving privileges were going to be suspended in a week and his advice to me was not to drive anywhere the next week after the suspension and he would take care of it. At this time I knew I was not dealing with a professional attorney and with no faith in him I was forced to pay the fine and accepting all consequences that came with the infraction (when I was on the phone with the county clerk she confirmed that there was no mistake on the docket Andrew simply did not show up on my behalf). After I paid the fine I full I immediately contacted Off the Record and explained my case at which Mark responded back to me promptly stating he spoke with Andrew Nguyen and he claimed he could still get the speeding ticket fixed. Over the next 6 weeks I checked with Mark who then would check with Andrew with no response coming back I finally demanded my refund which I received on 12-8-17. Because of the gross negligence of the attorney and Off the record not standing behind their referrals or making things right by the customer (me) I am now stuck with over 2k in added insurance premiums over the next several years. If you choose to use off the record you should also do your own research on the attorney that is assigned to you.

Justin assigned a paralegal to my case that did not perform well and after I repeatedly raised this he said “yeah we have had a lot of problems with that person.” He repeatedly gave advice that turned out to be wrong, which can happen but he always deflected. Overall he came across very caring but was not competent.

Justin was recommended to me by another attorney due to my case relocating to another county. Justin jumped right in and became a very strong advocate for me from the very beginning. He teamed together with a second attorney with the firm due to the complexity and volume of my case matters. The two worked together to come up with logical and ethical strategies that didn't always work out in my favor, but I appreciated them and felt good about what I was doing for everybody involved. My case was very contentious and far from ordinary. Justin encouraged me to take the high road every step of the way. I can look back at what I've done in court and know that I have nothing to be ashamed of. I found Ms. Ramamurti to be disorganized and unreliable. She often discussed documents, filings and time frames with me, only to end up not doing what she told me she would or doing it much later than she told me. This process left me feeling under represented and not confident. I paid a 5K retainer that was being drained by repeatedly having to check in with her to only be given excuses after excuse why no progress on her end was being made. Since I had very little experience with hiring an attorney, I trusted a referral from a friend, also Ms. Ramamurti made a great impression when I initially contacted her, I questioned if Ms. Ramamurti's work ethic was normal for a legal professional. I expressed to her I was feeling under represented and I needed to see some progress, hopeful for a change. After what I felt was a prolonged time to have no response from Ms. Ramamurti, I terminated my relationship with her. I was provided back the remainder of my retainer, I was shocked at what my case with her had cost me, since very little actual progress was made.
I then hired a new attorney and my case has progressed so much quicker with a better outcome and has cost me significantly less.

A colleague referred Elena Garella based on very high praise for work she had done in the past. I had a difficult time getting a hold of her at the onset of COVID, but she gave me amazing advice and asked that as I moved forward in my legal issues to email her relevant docs which I did. She never got back to me. I’ve called her several times over the course of months and still nothing. I hired Elena to help recover on a slander / breach of privacy cause of action. Allegedly, she sent out the demand for my case, but I am not sure where to because the defendant corporation later told me that they never received it. And Elena never bothered to follow up to make sure they received it. Later, when defendant did not respond to the demand, Elena told me that I have the option of suing in a small claims court. I brought a case is small claims, but the judge told me that defamation cases are not allowed in small claim court, and dismissed my case. I would think that a competent attorney would know proper venue criteria. Finally, Elena was really difficult to get a hold of throughout. I think she is incompetent as an attorney.

But there's some county volunteer legal aid services extended not for employment to my representatives advising them could keep my case while working for them full-time as a they senior attorney over there program. He knew the facts to be different and just the defendant dshs say and present what they wanted he avoided my calls and even included causes of action in my JR w/Supreme Court without my knowledge and with knowledge i did not want that he wouldn't remove himself from my case and he wouldn't take the action I told him . Then quit after being used my is buddies because he felt they were now discriminating against him. He was promised control of the program in some way and did not get it.

This attorney build his practice off my family pain . He had an ad on Craigslist.org doing pleadings for 250-300 each I used his services and reluctantly hired him for my appeal he was all I could afford , I did not know at some point later he decided to revive his legal career rather that mortgage lending foreclosures he decides to practice in family law child support and Title II ligation in the jurisdiction that I had him draft 2 law suits against officers of the court 2 lawsuits against DSHS and OAH . My trial judge was moved in rotation to family court and he followed him over there wait it gets better , he was suddenly referred by someone for a (.hmm I wonder who that was ...) senior attorney position at the local legal aid program were guess what My trial judge is the judicial liaison and 3 assistant attorney generals sit on his employers board ....he says no conflict of interest but he failed to tell me this I discovered it days ago . he was fired 6 weeks ago and refuses to submit his withdrawal from my cases and the supreme court is pending review , of matters that he has pretended to ligate and told me on April 7, 2023 he is going to loss on all cause of action less the attorney fees from the PRA claim which by the way he will split with me . This is the 3 time I have experienced a lawyer violate their duties to me and nothing is ever done about it hope your not poor because if you are there is no help for you . This is a business for them they care nothing about their harm to families they only care about themselves. Its the most despicable situation I have experienced .

I wanted a collaborative divorce and mistakenly chose her on a friends recommendation, without interviewing other lawyers. One of the biggest mistakes of my life. She gave me minimal guidance and basically just took thousands and thousands of dollars from me. She could not stand up to the opposing counsel. She did not shield me or protect me from harmful information that I did not need to know. Ultimately she dropped my case because she couldn’t handle it - but did so in a totally unethical way that took advantage of my weakness.

I was referred to Tara from a friend who got her name from one of his friends. She is smart and knows her stuff but is spread way too thin. I never felt like a priority because she was constantly working on other things. I understand and hope she has other clients, but just a check in at least once a week would have been nice. I had to constantly keep on her to find out information. She would take forever to respond. Things that should have been resolved in two weeks took six. I'm sure her skills are solid, but her people skills are in serious doubt. I would not recommend Tara unless this is your second or third divorce and know about the process. First timers - stay away if you want to feel like someone has your back.

Mr. Baklund was suspended from practicing law in the middle of my case. He never informed me of his suspension so that I could make other plans. He just didn't show up to court when he was supposed to and then I had to find out of his suspension on my own. It caused me a lot of unnecessary problems and I have done a better job representing myself. I would never recommend him to anyone. He did a horrible job.

Steve has represented me on two cases and has consulted me on many legal issues. Steve took away most if not all of the stress that comes along with making some dome choices and getting charged with some serious violations that could of ended very differently for me if not for Steve Baklund. For his fees ( i have heavily compared him with many other attorney's) being so low, you might think to yourself "you get what you pay for" and this sounds to low? NOT the case. You get a very knowlegible, creative, concerned, passionate about his helping me get the very least possible charge, and in my case completely dropped (with allot of evidence stacked against me) attorney who in my personal opinion did it for a very fair, agreed upon ahead of time price, that did not change at all from beginning to end. This to me is HUGE in the area of having to pay for legal help.
This was not the case in my 3 year long divorce custody battle before I new about Steve. Even though he does not practice family law ( to bad) I would of saved thousands of dollars I'm sure.
Point being any other attorney Ive worked with before Steve did the same thing. Quote me a price and by the end was know where near the quote, typically thousand over always with the same kind of reasoning why. Typically something like " we did not expect that " so hear is what it will really cost you.
Overall i would highly recommend Steve to anyone who needs a criminal lay attorney, if they want the best possable chance to win there case and want to do that by paying alot less than any other attorney I have personally worked with. Not by compairing that they worked on the same case and spent the same amount of time, but charged different amounts. But because Steve pre-nogotiates his cost with you prior and wont change it on you for any reason in my experience with him.
Steve Baklund takes the slime out of the "attorney's" in general bad reputation for being slimy because estimates are typically used instead of quotes, leaving it wide open to "make appropriate changes to the original estimate"

She is very inexperienced and unhelpful. Most importantly, she provided me with materially false information and coerced me to sign something that was not in my interest and not what all parties agreed to at a joint meeting. She had a duty to resolve the issue, do what she promised to do, and put in writing what all parties agreed to at a joint meeting. Yet, she failed to do her duty. I had no idea that signing what she told me to sign under the threat of withdrawal was modifying parenting plan. A normal process of modifying a parenting plan would take at least 13 months and with significant burden of proof by the party who wants to modify it. Yet, she just told me to sign something that was actually giving up my right, and she did not even tell me that. I thought it was a temporary thing. In summary, she is inexperienced, unreliable, extremely weak, unconscientious, not a good advocate for whom she is supposed to be paid for representing. She just let the other party dictate everything and told me to obey. I was hesitate to hire her at first. But her boss told me he would be providing supervision. But he did not; he sold me a lemon. Do not be fooled by her or her boss. Stay away. I had to hire another attorney to clean up the mess she created. I was able to achieve my goal with another attorney. So, save yourself time, resources and headache and stay away from her.

I brought a very serious systemic issue like most people who come to an Attorney for consultation. I spent an hour talking about the issue only to have my money taken at the end and was told it's a problem and nothing she can do even though its in her field of expertise. She had no problem taking my money $250. This is a common practice that I have notice with attorneys throughout the US and we as the people who pay money need to inform others who might fall as a victim to attorneys who conduct themselves in this manner. It should be a crime to take people money knowing that no service was rendered. I understand we all need to eat, but do not waste people time who are being robbed the the system. I am not disgruntle but concerned that this seems more like a scam and it is putting people lives in jeopardy especially when they have little strength to tell there story over and over again. I would rate one star, but she was very courteous when taking my money.

She kept me informed and responded almost immediately to my phone calls and e-mails. We did not meet unnecessarily and in the meetings we had, Alene was well-prepared and focused. I was new to this type situation and asked many questions. I found her answers complete, helpful and, in the end, accurate. When the other party did not follow through as agreed (several times and once after we thought the case was settled), Alene communicated with them quickly and effectively. I hired Raegen to write a not very complicated agreement. Almost 3 months later I got a partly filled out agreement that seemed to be a form or template. And a bill for over $4000. I complained and she agreed to finish it for not much more. But I feel that the service I received was extremely expensive for the product.

Target represented me throughout a collaborative divorce and parenting plan that was occasionally technically difficult and occasionally emotional and occasionally greedy regarding division of assets. I was a client of Ken's through a condo board. He was highly recommended, but did not live up to the recommendation. While knowledgeable about condo law, he put his own interpretation on issues that differed from other opinions I sought. He represented us in a contentious situation with a contractor who did shoddy work. Ken's approach led to delays, extra costs, and much higher legal billings. In the end, our result was probably not as good as it would have been had he taken a more direct approach, costing individual homeowners much more out of pocket expenses.

Starting in 2005 Ken Harer led a thorough investigation of our condo bldg flaws. A lawsuit in 2006 led to a settlement with the developer and the bldg was repaired between July 2, 2007 and May 20, 2008. His expertise and leadership are absolutely outstanding. We now have a building that is safe, weather tight and structurally sound, and this was accomplished with excellent overall financial results. His education and experience in law, architecture, architectural engineering, design, MBA and building business management is an unbeatable combination of knowledge for the type of litigation we needed. He is also an extremely cooperative person to work with. He provided outstanding day-to-day guidance during our project. I am a retired chemical engineer (PhD) with 30 years of management experience, and as condo board president, I worked with Ken Harer on a daily basis during our project. I would recommend him enthusiastically to anyone facing legal issues in condominium ownership and management - - and especially to the many condo associations out there with building flaws tracable to faulty work by the developer.

Jay Krulewitch is an outstanding attorney. He has represented me three times. Mr. Krulewitch has handled two criminal defense cases and one case involving a late family member’s injury from an auto accident. All three legal matters were difficult and complicated. This attorney left me with the impression he was either taking on too heavy a case load or he was not terribly good with time management. He always seemed distracted and unorganized. Meetings at his office frequently seemed like he needed a refresher about the case from day one (on the clock of course) My case dragged when it might have gone much faster. Events related to the case also happened and further complicated the matter and necessitated still further legal expense to address them. Had the case been handled efficiently it might have gone to court swiftly before these complications had time to occur. After I ran up a hefty bill (in my estimation largely due to his inefficiencies) he declared he would not even file my case until the bill had been substantially paid to date. In fairness, he may be well intentioned but don't expect too much bang for your buck.
