She is very knowledgeable in elder law. She advised me on my father's situation. I found from her that I could do a Conservatorship to stop his wild spending. Since my father was in Colorado she advised me to seek a lawyer in Colorado. He is a snow bird. Her advise was as good as the best lawyer I found in Colorado. I had to interview 3 lawyers in Colorado before I found one as competent. She was very generous with her time and did not charge me for a long consult.

No better lawyer in Arizona. Has been my divorce lawyer and costs less than half the cost of my soon to be ex. Cares about you and family. Very reasonable in decision making and tore up their witnesses at hearing and trial. Excellent staff. Great criminal defense and DUI attorney too - was a cop. Only draw back is you have to pay your own parking in downtown but it keeps his costs low as they just pass on their cost to you with profit.

We hired Mr. McFadden for a child court case. We reside out of state, so finding an attorney to represent us was initially very difficult. The first time I spoke with Mr. McFadden, I knew he was the attorney for us. He was always very responsive and readily available to talk to. He helped ease our anxiety and concern and knew the law extremely well. He was knowledgeable and fought hard for us. He made suggestions and helped us understand Arizona law. He was wonderful in court and we are so very happy with the outcome. We now have much more parenting time with our children and the other parent is now more cooperative. We have Mr. McFadden and the judge to thank for that. If we need a lawyer in Arizona in the future, we will definitely be going back to Mr. McFadden. He can be very blunt at times, but in my opinion, that was what was needed. He holds nothing back and is aggressive in the courtroom. He is exactly what we needed.

Mr. Barrasso was retained for child custody. Bob listens very carefully to exactly what you tell him. He in return wants you to be specific with answers to his questions. Bob is quick to cut you off if he believes you are getting off course with the specifics of your case. This may turn someone off if they think their attorney is cutting them off during discussions. Remember that most every time you speak with your attorney, it is costing you money. Bob purposely keeps conversation specific so the facts are discussed, and your money is best spent helping your case. My case involved a mother who was doing as she pleased, and was not the least bit interested in father/child relations. Basically she wanted as much child support as she could get, and to do as she pleased raisng our child. Painfully I bided my time until I believed I had enough evidence to go after her for change of custody. My childs mother wasn't a drunken, drug using, or physically abusive parent. Mom was an arrogant, self centered person who made poor choices that created an unstable environment for our child. She believed she could never lose custody no matter what. Well in many cases she was right. Generally speaking moms have primary custody and the courts give them many chances to correct mistakes. This is exactly why I knew I needed an excellent attorney like Bob to fight for both me and my child. Bob always encourages both parents to try and be civilized, communicate, and discuss the key issues related to raising their children. Bob is a proven trial lawyer who is not affraid to go to trial if nessesary. My case ended up going to trial. Bob and his staff made me feel at ease with the entire process, start to finish. At trial, Bob performed exactly as I would expect of an excellent trial attorney. He was extremely well prepared for my trial. He was relentless when it came to exposing the facts of my case, and cross examination of witnesses. Going to trial is a very stressful experience, and is never guaranteed as far as the outcome. Bob never gave me false assurances as to a guaranteed outcome of my case. Bob always explained what he believed the realistic chances were for a positive outcome. I am happy to say that Bob helped me win my case, and gain primary custody of my child. Dads getting custody of their children is still pretty rare in this day and age. Bob's professional and efficient work ethic helped to keep the overall cost reasonable, and far less than what I thought it might cost. Bob has a reputation as a fathers rights attorney, but the fact is that he represents either party for what he believes is in the best interest of the child. I cant say enough about the pleasant experience I have had since retaining Bob as my family law attorney.

Mr. Laird represented us in a major home construction dispute which raged for over three years. Although he did not specialize in construction law at the time, he did his due research and provided fantastic results. He was smart, honest, efficient (cared about what we spent), a great listener, and always respectful. He allowed us to review documents and even take a "first crack" at responses when we so desired, which he then revised. We appreciated being so involved in the process, and the "team" effort definitely paid off for us. I cannot say enough about how wonderful an attorney Mr.Laird was and how much we respect and trust him as an attorney and as a person.

There are many in legal profession who prefer status-quo, and kind of see where things go and go with the flow; Jennifer is the opposite - she brings in the energy, the knowledge, the professionalism, and she will fight tirelessly with all of that by your side. She has my absolute highest recommendation, you will not be disappointed.

Calm, consistent, and receptive to facts and insight even late in the process. A deceptively low key demeanor in court allows Goncalves to position his questions and evidence where they do the most for a client. A study in "less is more" in cross combined with a sense of wonder about facts conveyed to the jury at closing makes Walter perhaps one of the most lethal trial lawyers currently working in Pima county if not the south west today. This tremendous trial capability is built on a stoic foundation and no-nonsense pre-trial preparation regimen that informs his client and constantly reassesses the facts and discovery as the client becomes more "legal literate". Under Goncalves's guidance, the client becomes empowered, learning to consider and contribute facts in a rational constructive manner and move beyond the early panic of arraignment. Quite simply the best defense lawyer in Tucson that money could buy, if he wasn't working for the public defenders office. The Pima county DA's office can only hope and pray that someone in the private sector will eventually headhunt Goncalves, until then they will continue to lose cases when Goncalves is retained for some broke defendant like myself. Acquittal, life and family saved.

Meighan came through for me so hard. I was dealing with an ex who took my order of protection as a personal offense, and appealed immediately. That process necessitates a hearing where both parties are present. I knew I would have to re-testify, and be examined on the stand by my ex. The thought of being trapped in a courtroom with them sounded like hell on earth. I wasn't sure what to do for representation or case building. I contacted Meighan for advice, but instead got urgent and superb representation. She navigated the hearing with total competence, and was organized from start to finish. She understands court process in a way that defines expertise. I would never have been able to finagle my evidence into exhibits or present them properly, or know what was grounds for objection. It provided me with so much peace of mind to have her there, not only because of her "bedside manner" (benchside manner?) but also because she spared me incalculable stress and humiliation. She got a read on the judge quickly, and proved her knowledgeability as well as her good-faith approach immediately in the hearing. Her examinations of me, my ex, and my ex's witnesses was efficient for my cause without being harsh or aggressive. She only belabored evidence that was relevant to the instance at hand, which saved time and strain for everyone. She blocked my ex's line of sight to me during the entire hearing, which was the difference between situational stress and a nightmare. Meighan advocated for me simply by asking the right questions and emphasizing the right information. Her argument was rooted in evidence, not extrapolations or creative character assassination. To be frank, Meighan cuts through bullsh*t like warm butter, graciously and without vulgarity. I think it stands to mention that even the opposition's witnesses in this case were treated so well by Meighan that they fell out with my ex shortly after. Meighan recognized that they were good, honest people, and they were just trying to help a friend. Participating in the trial was immensely stressful for them. I live in a small town; my ex was using their relationship with the two witnesses to force their way into the spaces that I had to be in for work. That change in allegiances directly improved my safety and peace in my life. The witnesses and I have had the opportunity to trauma bond over our mutual experiences with that lunatic and come out of it with a stronger acquaintanceship than we had before the fact. Meighan was so potent that the opposition's witnesses are now friends of mine. I don't live in Pima county, but by chance I spoke with a prosecutor from Pima who was visiting a mutual friend. When I was telling her about my case circumstances, she asked who my attorney was. I said it was Meighan LaFata. She smiled (a little mischievously I thought), and said she really likes Meighan. She called her honorable, reasonable, and responsible. I'll remind you that this person was a prosecuting attorney, and Meighan was previously in public defense, meaning that their professional relationship would have been adversarial as a baseline by nature of an "adversarial justice system". I can't sing Meighan's praises enough. She is more humane as a person and in her role than you can fully imagine before you experience it. A friend of mine in PA who's a contract lawyer always told me that the best lawyers don't just know law. The dually important role of a lawyer is peace of mind. Meighan provides that in spades. In my case, comparatively small as it may have been, she brought it to the entire courtroom. She demonstrates a sincerity, humility, and heart of service in her work that makes it easy for decent people to respect her. Having Meighan with me was the beginning of healing from all of this. I'll always be grateful.

Top Questions to Ask a Lawyer

When meeting with a lawyer for the first time, it's important to ask the right questions to understand their expertise and determine if they're the right fit for your legal needs. Here are some top questions to consider:
