Hugh McGavick was exactly who I needed for my case. I had an employment related legal situation, where my employer changed what we had originally agreed to for my retention. Originally, a bonus for my retention through a specific date was agreed to. Upon my last day, they sent a separation agreement that did not include this bonus, and even included wording that if I sign the separation agreement, I would be waiving all claims, obligations, etc. with the company, and it even specifically included bonuses. I obviously was concerned about this, but the company refused to amend the agreement to include the bonus they had already agreed to, and told me they would pay it out after I signed the agreement... an agreement that made them not legally liable to do so. I've never needed legal aid before, so I had no idea where to start, but I was able to find Avvo, which led me to Hugh. Hugh wasted no time and after I contacted him, explained the situation, and paid for his services, he went after the company quickly. He made sure to gather from me all the information he needed, and presented the facts to the company in an organized and clear way, while also citing the laws and governing bodies for Washington they were potentially violating. As someone who knows nothing about this sort of thing, it really was helpful to know how employment and wage laws in Washington applied to me and my case. The company sent the bonus after Hugh's involvement, and Hugh is honest with billable hours as well. He sent me an itemized invoice after our business was concluded, that showed how he spent every moment on our case, and even refunded me part of the balance as I had paid for more time than was needed. I couldn't be happier with the help I received from Hugh!

I decided to hire Roger & his firm in December of 2017 to help assist me in 2 separate cases with my daughter’s fathers in establishing parenting plans & child support modifications. Roger was the second attorney I hired due to my first lawyer not being able to focus on my cases fully in order to get them moving forward. After about 10 months of getting nowhere, I started my search for another lawyer, which was Roger. There is no doubt in my mind that I picked the best lawyer and his team to assist me with what would become a very long grueling process. Both of my cases ended up being very highly litigated and almost reached the point of trial. I remember being in shock that within a matter of a few weeks after hiring Madison Law Firm, Roger and his team had accomplished more on each of my cases than my first lawyer did in 10+ months. The entire time Roger kept me informed as to what was going on. He was always on time when we had court and appeared very professional. Roger helped me through a very dark time. When false accusations kept me from my children and my business, he fought hard and listened to what I needed. My case was very complicated, and it would have been very easy for the opposing party to turn a lawyer against me, but I was honest and forthcoming with my situation and Roger used that to help me get the very best results. It is with great pleasure that I write an outstanding review for Attorney John Ryan. As a non profit preschool that serves the needs of children with several different learning styles and abilities, it goes with out saying we have been severely affected due to the pandemic. Through determination, grit and for lack of a better word, blood sweet and tears, we are still standing and serving families of the community as it was very evident our unique learning school is much needed in the community.
At the end of the day, we are viewed as just another business with our debtors, and landlords and beyond. We have encountered and come across some of the most vile and unethical people through out this process, as a volunteer board president who started this organization in 2014 to ensure there was a place for my child who is a non traditional learner, and many of her peers the toll this was taking was becoming too much. When we hired Attorney Ryan, it was to handle a fraction of what we were dealing with. We persevered to move forward and keep what we started going, when disparaging emails, harassment, and phone calls became too much to cary, Attorney Ryan Stepped in on several different occasions to take some of this stress off our plate, and handled the unethical treatment and “threats” with out skipping a beat. He was able to reassure us we were not in need of meeting unrealistic demands, and took over on our behalf and was very attentive and not bothered by the grotesque scare tactics used by misc companies, and people. Knowing that Attorney Ryan was handling this, while fully keeping us in the loop, and assuring us of our rights, helped relieve a huge amount of stress, anxiety and harassment, so we could focus on what really matters, carrying our mission forward and ensuring a place like this will exist in our community for years and beyond.

John stuck with me through a year long house sale horror. First, was the deed in lieu. I changed my mind (for which he was very gratuitous and only seemed to care that I chose the best option for myself). Next came the short sale from hell. If something could go wrong, it did. This lasted over 8 months. All along the way, he advised me on the best options. He checked on me quite a bit, was very professional but caring. I felt like I really had someone who had my back. This was especially wonderful as I was a recent widow. I highly recommend him and would give an outstanding reference to anyone who asked! Thanks John:)

I was extremely weary about hiring a lawyer at first, I was scared. When I first met Shirley I was so nervous I felt like a child. She was kind and gentle. She talked me through my whole case, and she was honest with me. She never made me feel stupid or gave me false hope. She has a way of working with people and honestly working miracles. I had an extremely sticky case but she took it and made a terrible situation better. Morgan James were my lawyers in a car accident case where I was rear-ended. I had a passenger and we both went to a meeting with them where they explained what they could do and how much it would cost. After careful consideration I decided to let them act for me. I am so happy that I did that because they got me a settlement way better than I could ever have achieved. My passenger decided she could do as well by letting her husband take care of it. She did not do as well as I did.

Recently I had a dispute with my medical insurance company. They denied coverage for expensive clinical tests that had already been performed leaving me responsible for the entire bill that I could not afford. Despite the facts that I presented to them to support my case they twice denied my formal appeals.
In less than one week after Miichael Morgan's involvement the situation was resolved. To say I am pleased with his service is an understatement. Michael Morgan's quick effective action saved me from a frustrating stuation and allowed me to have the required surgery. He also advised me exactly how to deal with medical billing to keep the unpaid debt from going to collections. His expertise, confidence and communication were exceptional. Mark was recommended by a friend of ours who is in law enforcement. It was the best recommendation we have ever gotten. In 2005 my husband suffered an accident that left him a quadriplegic. Mr. Goldstien was polite, kind and helped me through this difficult situation. I believe there are no harder allegations to fight than false allegations especially when they come from your wife of 32 years and your 31 year old “child”. Ari was a great lawyer and defended me well enabling to retain access to weapons and the ability to keep my job. He’s a GREAT lawyer! I would recommend him to anyone who needs help when your falsely accused. I can only imagine even if your "guilty" he will do his best to protect your rights as an American. Very highly recommended.

I was so fortunate a friend recommended I hire Paul for my recent divorce. Paul was everything I needed. He was calm, considerate, listened to me, took the time to discuss my options, very responsive when I contacted him and professional in every interaction. I greatly appreciated that throughout the proceedings he was thorough in all his paperwork and very timely in all the court filings. Paul was always prepared for every meeting or deadline. I was so impressed with Paul, I subsequently used him for the estate planning for myself and then my mother. I would highly recommend Paul as an attorney, he's one of the best attorneys I've worked with.

My custody case was very complex. I spoke to many Washington lawyers only to be told by all of them that this is a losing battle. I was told that I would spend a lot of time and money and still lose. I hired an attorney, in Oregon where I live, to work on my custody case in Washington. They did nothing, I hired a second Oregon attorney who was helpful, they found Mr Battan, discussed options and advised me to work directly with him. I was apprehensive at first as Paul had told me that my case was not only possible, but that he felt he could get it done fairly quickly and easily. This was in contrast to what previous attorneys had said. He cited the cases that were similar, explaining why he felt a judge would rule in my favor. I decided to move forward with Paul Battan and his approach with this matter, about a month later I was awarded temporary custody, another few months and it was finalized. Paul was confident, reassuring, and was always 10 steps ahead of the other party. My only regret is that I didn't find Paul first..... about 6 months and numerous consultations were wasted on other less experienced attorneys. Don't make my mistake, you "better call Paul"!

I was hired by Sophia Sum, the office Paralegal, to serve documents.
Her instructions were to serve one individual.
She did not give any special instructions, so I made the serve and sent her the affidavit with invoice for payment.
She then denied payment stating that the wrong person was served.
I sent her IDAHO LAW and explained to her the serve was good.
Her attitude was extremely unprofessional, very hostile, snotty, and "know it all" which is not acceptable in any business.
She would not be employed in my business!
I am sure this bad attitude has been seen by others as well.
I doubt the "Boss" saw the 30 line email exchange, which shows her inept attitude.
It is imperative to have a professional, qualified paralegal on your staff as they typically do the preparation for the attorney.
Unfortunately, if payment is not sent out ASAP, then a collections agency is the only choice.
So before you hire this company or work for them, I would think twice about the quality of work if Sophia is your contact.

In 2020, my parents died within the span of months. Suddenly, I was the executor of two estates (one in-state and the other out) with no idea what to do. Paul Battan handled my dad’s Washington state probate.
Having worked with two attorneys through essentially the same process, I can tell you Paul is the attorney you want to have.
I worked directly with Paul through the probate process rather than with a paralegal. As a result, my questions were answered quickly and I had confidence that he knew exactly what was happening with the case at all times.
When you reach out to Paul, he responds within a few hours. With the other attorney, I felt like I had to leave multiple, follow up messages before he got back to me often many days later.
Finally, Paul goes above and beyond. When I mentioned some problems we were having with the other attorney regarding the sale of estate property, Paul looked into that state’s legal code and sent me a section to share with the other attorney that seemed to address the problem.

Wish I could give even less. This man does not give a single care about his court appointed cases. He didn’t even care enough to show in person stating that he could “do other things” while his client was waiting. He didn’t bother to set up a way to communicate with his client in the court room and made a sorry excuse about how “complicated it is to set it up because he has to use a certain software” like my guy it’s called being prepared to do your job. He provided the worst “cross examination” I’ve ever witnessed. He struggled to find the word adversarial whilst chuckling during “cross examination” and had little to no questions for the defendant while he lied several times under oath. Lastly, he assured his client they wouldn’t have to testify and then strong armed her into spilling details of an open investigation which now compromises the immediate safety of a minor. I’m disgusted and horrified that man is allowed to practice law. Absolutely shameful.

2017-2018 I hired her for simple parenting plan stuff. She was never ever in the office. Got lots of run-arounds. No work was ever done. I'm talking about months of no activity, no communication. I finally gave up and did it myself.

Hired her for a divorce....years pass and Im STILL married. She doesnt keep people informed, doesnt react to situations that need immediate judge asssitance. Can be tempermental in courtroom to own clients and always has that "fight' attitude which gets a client no where. Appears she does better for men then women. Waste of $$$$ and time. Look elsewhere.....

If you are ANYWHERE near the Moses Lake area I highly recommend you retain Ms. Black for your legal needs. She is by far the most professional, competent, strong, direct, knowledgeable layer I have EVER worked with. We were rushed to respond to an allegation and she put the paperwork together and filed in a couple days. And the next day we were in court and won the case. It was sole due to her efforts I was prepared and ready to take on the case. She made the other attorney look like a first year law student. I was something to behold. Don't take my word for it. Go see her for yourself. You'll know within seconds of meeting her that she means strictly business. If you need help, you'd better call Ms Black. Otherwise you may be going up against her.
