I do not feel like I can write a review that truly describes how worthy David Weinstein truly is. I retained Dave for the first time 8 years ago and I have worked with him several times since then. I wouldn’t recommend any other attorney for the Lake and Cook county area. Hiring an attorney is never going to be cheap but his prices are reasonable... but it’s his work inside and outside of the courtroom that truly makes him the best bang for your buck. He's good, tough, professional and knows the law and the practice of law. I have hired him for several fields of law, and I have recommended him many times, and no one has been let down by his performance.
Dave’s approach to customer service is fantastic. He is responsive unlike many attorneys. He may not tell you what you want to hear, but he will tell you what you NEED to hear. He prepares you for whatever is to come. He was extremely helpful when he outright told me how I need to appear in court, examples- attire, attitude and how to speak to a judge. Always keep in mind that an attorney is not a therapist, many people seem to think an attorney is going to take all of the calls about personal issues that do not directly relate to their case... which is an unreasonable request for an attorney. I may have pushed his patience in this category a time or two.
In the courtroom he remains cool, collected and sharp witted. I was amazed by how resourceful and sedulous he is. I have the utmost respect for the fact that he won’t take on work he doesn’t believe will benefit the client, meaning he won’t have you pay for a service that he cannot accomplish. Overall, I could never ask for more in an attorney!

I first would like to say that I unfortunately have been in Lake County courts for many years of my life. Fighting different felony cases. I have pretty much dealt first hand with a lot of the most respected felony lawyers in the area. Not to take anything away from this websites top rated but David should be much higher rated.
I know personally two separate murder cases that he has won in the same year with two completely different cases. I was refered to David by one of these men. I had him represent a family member in a felony drug case. David was able to secure misdemeanor probation for my family member. Which is a win because my family member was looking at 4-15 years. I ended up in a similar situation and hired David. I was facing a class X felony (6-30 years) David was able to secure me probation also. Shyama S. Parikh was an excellent attorney!!! Shyama would be my first choice of attorneys if I ever needed one again in the future. I would also be very happy to recommend her to other people. Shyama was very detailed oriented when handling my case. I loved how detailed Shyama was in filling out the Affirmative Matter section in my legal documents. She was very thorough in handling my whole case. The people that I brought to court, as witnesses, were extremely impressed, as well, with Shyama. They kept going on and on about what an excellent attorney I had today. She was able to expunge the false Emergency Order of Protection that was against me by my ex-boyfriend. Shyama also stopped him from getting the petition for Order of Protection from going through. My ex-boyfriend was just doing this out of revenge any way and not basing anything on facts. My ex-boyfriend was just upset that I found about his evil past, with 2 attempted murders. When I was going through my divorce a friend recommended David Del Re to me! She said he was the best, and he truly is THE BEST! Most basic lawyer. But if you want a lawyer to fight, he is not the one.
The communication was lacking. I was told at one point "you should think about self representation". This because I asked him to have stuff included within the final divorce. But he wanted it his way or else find someone else. "I work for you" doesnt really apply here.
Then, I tried to follow up AFTER the case was closed so I would not need another lawyer, completely ignored be on 3 separate requests. So he was done with me without telling me.
Forwarded me emails from the other party with not a single word of context or what Im supposed to do. "Review and get back to me". Yes, I probably could have self represented. And should have. Win some, lose some.

Thank goodness I finally found an attorney that represented me with integrity and helped me through this long nightmare of a divorce. Robert was very responsive from the beginning, answered every communication, kept my case on track, and gave me counsel that finally gave me some relief. Robert came in late in the case to wrap up the final stages, and he got more accomplished in one action than was done in 2 years of constant attacks. I wish I had started my divorce process with him.

Robert Stavins is very competent and effective attorney in family law. I must admit to be a lawyer-phobic so when my exwife filed a law suit to get me pay half of my sons University of Michigan tuition when he could have studied Loyola University Chicago or Marquette University for free thanks to my employee benefits, I first attempted to represent myself. When a judge strongly suggested I needed a lawyer, and some awful forms were due in Waukegan court soon, I quickly choose Robert based on two facts: first, he worked pro bono from time to time (not that I would need that but it shows his kind heart so I felt he would understand that I cannot afford excessive fees), and, second, he did not remind me during our first meeting a vulture (unlike most other attorneys I observed working in the courtroom). I was so lucky with my selection! The complicated case morphed into child support case for another child and took a year and many petitions and counter-petitions to complete. Robert was always there - calm, knowledgeable, explaining my options clearly. We did not win it all but my new family and I would be probably financially ruined without his assistance.

I should have done this a long time ago, but it's never too late to give a compliment or a long overdue good review. I was on this site giving a review to another (excellent) lawyer for a real estate matter, so it's time to say what a great job Dan did in
helping me when I unfortunately had a DUI arrest, and had not submitted to any sort of field sobriety testing or the breathalyzer as was my legal right. I was a faced with the possiblity of having an ignition iterlock device placed in my car, and not being able to drive for a period of time at all during the the summary suspension. If that were to have happened I would have surely lost my job. Dan worked it out a for me, with state's attorney, that if I plead guilty, paid my fines right away, I could keep on driving, which was the only way I could continue getting to work having no one else to drive me, nor any public transportation available to me in my area. Dan got this all done in just 2 court dates! Amazing. The summary suspension was rescinded the day before it was to begin and I was able to keep
on going to work, did my counseling classes and learn from my mistakes and move on with my life.
Dan is a first-rate attorney who made me feel comfortable and explained everything about what was
going to happen and why, in a very easy to understand way. I would recommend him highly to anyone who has been arrested for a DUI charge or other criminal offense. He is a skilled, experienced, first-rate attorney who gets your case done quickly. His fees were reasonable as well.

I needed expert help for my son who had serious felony charges filed against him that were unfair (really) but complicated. Dan used his knowledge of the law, as well as familiarity with every prosecutor/judge/lawyer and the system in Waukegan, to handle the case patiently, ethically, but aggressively when necessary. Eventually, all charges were dropped, which was more than we had hoped for. He's not always great at returning phone calls :) but is an unusually nice guy who does his best, charges fairly, and really cares about his clients. I highly recommend him.

This is pertaining to the incident at my Toyota Dealer, Classic Toyota on Green Bay road. Why would they do this to their good customer like me? Why not let me go in the office. Why was the young guy (Adam) be blocking the door. I wanted to go in the office, so I picked him up, moved him to the side of the door and entered. The Waukegan Police called me and asked me to come in - I refused, and they said the Warrant will be issued. I cited my health issue as a reason not to come in. Do you want me to get something from my Cardiologist that will say I have a very weak and bad heat and that is why I can't come in. The stress may kill me.
I want to report to you the details of today's my incident at Classic Toyota in Waukegan.
First, a little background. I purchased a Prius battery few days ago there. After touching base with my neighbor, I found out from him that I already had purchased a new battery about 6 months ago. My memory is failing me (I have onset of Alhzeimers), so I am glad that my neighbor remembered. Right away, I called the dealership and they verified my previous purchase of the battery. Bill, the manager, personally called me at home and told me that if I returned the new battery in its original condition, then a refund would be issued. I told him that I will not be able to bring the battery on Thursday, the 31 of Jan, but I will be there on Friday the 1st of Feb.
I arrived at Classic Toyota at about 1:30PM I came from the overhead doors side. I temporarily parked my Prius outside, close to the overhead doors. I lifted the heavy battery out of the car and walked in thru the service area with intention of leaving it by the doors to Customer Service area. I almost accomplished this task, but not quite. Classic Toyota employee, I believe his name is Adam, told me: "You can't leave this here! It is not a disposal for batteries".
I tried to tell him that this battery was sold to me few days ago and I am returning it, but he would not listen to me at all. When I tried to walk in the Customer Service area, he blocked the door and said: "Get out! Get out of here! I will not let you in! Get out now!"
I still wanted to go in there, I managed to do it after I pushed myself in the Cust Serv office.
This really enraged Adam - he decided to call the police and file a report.
I said, I want to park my Prius and walked out. I suffered from a failed heart condition and I started to feel bad. I was afraid my heart would completely fail me , so I drove to my doctor's office and then later, obtained additional heart medication. I feel better now.
Much later, I returned to Classic Toyota. The guy there treated me nicely. He assured me that the battery is in Bill's office and eventually I will get a refund.
My wife told that the police came to my house and asked for me and my cell number. The police called me on the cell and asked me to come in for a statement. I contacted a lawyer and he adviced me against going to the Police station. He told me to just wait for a warrant.
I also called Bill and my impression is that Bill is taking a side of Adam, I sensed un-friendliness towards me, a valued, long time customer.
I am sad and un-happy of what happened today. If only Adam was a little more diplomatic and if he would not take this immediate, aggresive stand, if only I would just walk out, back thru the overhead doors, toward my car and came back thru the front, then this would not have happened.

It’s rare that you find people singing the praises of lawyers, so I thought it’s worth calling out a great experience I’ve recently had with one.
Posterli does real estate law and contracts in Lake County. Posterli is different for a number of reasons. First of all, he has a flat fee. It used to be $500 per transaction, but he recently lowered it to $450 (when does that ever happen?!).
Second, because of the flat fee, he never wastes any time. All conversations on the phone with him are short and to the point. He’s always happy to explain things if you ask for them specifically, but usually it’s Just The Business. Love it.
Third, he’s always available to help. Even if it’s slightly outside his area or responsibility. The focus is on getting the deal done as smoothly as possible.
I understand that most legal matters are more complicated than that of real estate contracts, but it’s still a refreshing experience to see what dealing with legal matters can also be like.

Jenny Valsamas had our families well being in her hands. She listened to me, trusted me every step of the way. (12 months of custody and removal from Illinois battle.) She always put the well being of my three children first and kept her sites, reminding me often of our long term goal of removing my children from the state. She providing priceless service at an affordable price. Her office staff were always helpful and managed my case excellent. Jenny kept me informed always; not only M-F 9-5 but 24/7. Even after I was awarded custody and moved from the state she accepted my calls for advice on moving the parenting agreement to the new state. If I called today, she would still help me. Mr. Pierce was recommended by a friend who practices law in Oklahoma. I hired him to help me in a case regarding my 4 year old daughter. She lives with me and my new husband, who is her legally-recognized father. I was brought to court when a man I knew around the time my daughter was conceived entered an order for paternity, allowed it to lapse over the course of nearly 3 years, and then hired a lawyer to ask for a DNA test. My first attorney (not Mr. Pierce) was unable to block that order for DNA (even though the petition had been dismissed for want of prosecution, my husband was not made a party as the legally-recognized father, and there was no GAL or representative appointed for my child). Needless to say, Mr. Pierce was brought in and placed behind the 8-ball. Even still, he fought hard for us and was able to get a GAL appointed and got the DNA test dismissed. (We are still in process). I only wish that I had hired him to begin with, because his knowledge of the law, his diligence, and his dogged determination to fight for justice (not to mention his genuine investment in the best interests of children) makes him the best lawyer I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. He has fought tooth and nail for my family, and no matter the outcome, I will never regret hiring him. I recommend him very highly to anyone who cares about serving the best interests of their children. He is good-natured, very intelligent and never shies away from speaking his mind. He will research (and research... and then research some more) and then fight like hell for you. The best part is: He COMMUNICATES with his clients. He explains the law, he navigates you through the oft-confusing process, asks questions, defers to you for your thoughts and truly wants to know your goals and what you are willing to do to get the best results. Mr. Christopher C Pierce is everybody's dream of an attorney. I met Chris by chance and because God want to deliver me from the bondage. I was thrown into the lion's den and Chris dove into the lion's month saved me. The initial lawyer conspired with my enemies to have my head on the platter. But Chris looked into my eyes and heart believed in me, my story, and saw my hurts. Chris took my case on PML (pay me later) knowing full well that I don't have a job (high paying job loss because of the case (fictitious lie (love triangle)), may not able to pay in the face of bad record created by the case, and just doing it because God spoke to him. He reviewed everything that I gave him and walk me through of not losing hope, not distrust every lawyers, be courageous and went to court in the face of bad situation and turned it to less fortunate joy..
Criminal case was turned to NOT GUILT on ALL COUNTS that's very rear when it comes to relationship issue. Turned divorce issues that were against me into a very favorable outcome for me.
