Outstanding win by a world-class attorney
I am an Army Lieutenant Colonel with 26 years of service that was falsely accused of spousal and child financial, emotional, verbal and physical abuse after filing for divorce. After three years of legal battles in the military justice system I was referred to a Board of Inquiry in an effort to involuntarily separate me with an Other-Than-Honorable discharge, stripping me of my retirement and benefits. Attorney Dan Higgins of Capovilla and Williams took the case at this late stage and within a short period of time studied every detail of the case and then passionately and convincingly presented the case to a board of three Army Colonels, resulting in a complete victory in which I was retained on active duty with most of the allegations unsubstantiated.

At some point in your life you will most likely need a lawyer's services and where do you go searching - the internet of course as most of us don't want share our need with friends/family so that's where the confusing part begins - who to select, who to trust, who can we afford, do we really need them. Some of us will see that big attorney commercial and call and become a billable number - been there done that before as well. Who do you think is paying for that commercial and big office and big staff - you are!
I was referred to Natalie by 2 separate friends (not in the same friend group who I actually shared my situation with). I am glad I called and followed their recommendation.
She is a small boutique attorney that takes her time to help and guide you through your legal needs. You want just be another client, you will be her client. You may make a new friend in the process. She takes each case and personally involves herself to fight the fight for your legal rights.
She specializes in many areas of family law - divorce, wills, guardianship, power of attorney, trusts, probate, child custody, special needs (is a parent to special needs child). She not only knows the law but knows how to use the law in the courtroom to help your case. She gives you her cell number, who does that? She does!
She will get back to you as her schedule and your schedule allows days/nights/weekends/holidays if need be. Who does that? Natalie does that.
While no attorney can specialize in every field of law, she knows if she can help you or if she needs to refer you to her well known attorney associates that perhaps would be better fitted for your needs.

Divorce is never fun but Natalie made the experience easy and quick. She answered all my questions even though I thought some of them were stupid she never made me feel inferior, even when I had to ask her twice. I didn't know what else to do... I really was beginning to feel trapped... making just minimum payments on credit cards to try and stay afloat... this helped to maintain my credit but the challenge came when my commission and bonus structure started to decrease at my job... that's when I noticed my debt to credit ratio spiking out of control... Mr. Limbocker and his assistant Julie kept me at peace and I was able to go through the process of bankruptcy with the guidance of Mr. Limbocker which resulted in a successful discharge! Caryn, Kelly and their team handled my divorce that had great potential of being ugly. The emails, phone calls, texts, etc. however you like communication they are on top of it. Explanations of steps and what is going on and/or coming next helped my stress level keep to a minimum. My husband even felt comfortable enough with this team, not to hire a different attorney. This firm was recommended to me by a friend. I did not go thru Avvo, but I hope it helps someone else who needs a compassionate team in their corner.

Mr. Mickey Williams was one of the gentlemen that represented me in my HQDA mandated separation board. My ex-wife is military law enforcement and used her knowledge and position to try to ruin my life, my career, my relationship with my kids and have me lose 22 years worth of benefits. Mickey was able to rapidly and accurately see that the statements made against me were fabricated. He preparation and experience made it possible for me to finally tell my side of the story. My board went on for over 13 hours. Mickey had taken the time to ensure that his examinations were seamless and had the knowledge of all the facts. His questioning of my ex-wife, an agent with CID, caused her to show to the board how little integrity she has. I picked Alex and Lizz after interviewing 7 attorneys and their offices total. Yes, I did free and paid consultations for 7 different attorneys over the course of months before choosing H&K. My case is about relocating with kids after a divorce. Most attorneys gave me the same advice on how to start my case, but Alex gave me different advice on how to start that would please the court system. It sat well with me. I took his advice and hired the firm. I also could see the experience and fearlessness in Alex when my fiance and I met with him over zoom for a paid consult. Simply put, we liked the vibe and felt we'd have strong representation.
Little did I know I'd never see Alex again and all of my case would be handled by Lizz. Lizz told me from the beginning she has a very good memory, and she does. She picks up things from casual conversation and uses it later to your advantage. She remembers everything I tell her. She's got a lot of experience and she's very smart, she could tell how I was feeling and would push me along when I needed it or let me chill out when I needed that too. Again, my case was a relocation case and custody was at stake. I had paralyzing and crippling anxiety. Lizz not only handled my case really well, she handled me really well. If I had to ask her, I'm not sure if she'd say the case was harder or if I was!
Long story short, I dragged my case a little longer than I needed to (due to anxiety) but it still was resolved quickly. And it could have been resolved even faster.
Things I'll never forget about Lizz:
* She's incredibly sharp. Like incredibly sharp. Like, my fiance and I work in fields where there are highly-educated people doing some powerful things, but Lizz's sharpness to us was extraordinarily unique. She's smart, she's intuitive, she's clever, she's fast, she's detail-oriented, and she's strong!
* During my representation in front of the judge, some things were not going in my favor. I literally could see Lizz switching gears to begin fighting harder for me and protecting me. Which she did, successfully. But I literally saw it. In her tone of voice, in her body language, in the shift in how she sat in the chair. From the beginning of our meetings, Lizz never treated my case like another file #. She has passion and she cares.
In the end, Lizz won my case for me!!!
I hope when my case is completely closed that I never have to use family law attorneys again. But if I did, I won't even think about anyone else except Lizz. She's the real MVP.

I was introduced to Elizabeth Kuhn 2 years ago. She came highly recommended from other attorneys in her field. I was served with custody papers and at the time had no idea what this meant for me. I was referred to Mr. Skaar by another attorney. I spoke several times with Mr. Skaar about a wrongful garnishment case that I had. He instructed me to get documents from the court, which I did. I let him know that I got what he asked for, and then he ghosted me! No further communication at all! No email, no return phone call. Nothing! I was willing to jump through the necessary hoops, and obviously pay for his services, and he never once got back to me. Maybe he couldn't help? If that was the case, he could have had the decency to let me know instead of ghosting. I had hope that I finally found an attorney to handle this ridiculous case, but apparently I was wrong.

I meet Mrs Austin through the legal assistance program, and at first I thought she was just another court appointed attorney. You know the ones where they are assigned too many cases and because your not able to afford their services they give you subpar results. Not in this case, Mrs Austin treated me with respect and understood that everyone that finds them self in a criminal situation is not a criminal. Arron was amazing and the process was quick and easy. I really had no worries the entire time, which after having a wreck is honestly, a huge relief. In my case, thank goodness, my wreck was not very extensive but no matter the size, having that happen to you can make you feel very unsure and worried about the future and how it is going to impact your life. Luckily for me, I never had to worry that my case was being handled. I put my trust in the reunification process in the hands of Molly Mindy and her team of paralegals. I called her office almost two to three times week and her paralegal Brittany spoke to me like she was a therapist and constantly reassured me to trust the process and make sure that I did everything that I needed to do as part of my parent case plan to remain compliant. Try to set up a call with her, there's an "emergency", try to set up a meeting with her, she's "out of town", three consecutive times I tried to have my FIRST call with her she rescheduled, rescheduled and rescheduled. In my injury case I had hired 2 other attorneys, who did not return my calls or take interest in my case. Herman and Russo represented us in a Chapter 7 recently, and they did a great job of explaining the process to us, letting us know what to expect, and providing additional information and guidance even after our discharge. It's not a "fun" experience to go through a bankruptcy proceeding, but having someone that returned calls and emails with reasonable explanations that we could understand made a tough time in our lives bearable.
