They used to be Cantafio and Hammond. Their employment lawyer Christine Breen took my case, when I was at my lowest, just let go after years of workplace bullying, and recently retaliated against for whistleblowing, and contemplating suing my employer. She promised to help, but then was MIA and refused to return calls. Yet she charged $2000 doing work no one asked her to do, as I already signed a severance agreement not to sue. She never wrote a demand letter. Never did anything substantial, except wrote 2 emails. I had to tell her to cease and desist charging me. I had to bring this case to the bar association. She immediately called, yelling, you agreed to pay this amount. We negotiated, and she reduced it by a few hundred. I should've gone to the bar association and got her disbarred. When you are at your most vulnerable, you cannot trust these people.

If you want to win your case…look further. I hired Pete McGuire to handle my work comp injury case and it was a nightmare. He didn’t keep me up to date. For example, I took all my court documents to Mexico thinking I was having a virtual hearing when it was canceled. I had a good case, but hardly got anything back. He didn’t listen to me or what I wanted from the case. Terrible experience. Not very knowledgeable on work comp stuff.

I can’t further express the gratitude that I have for this team. Nic and Sarah have both been so solid through out not only the duration of my court cases, but completely went above and beyond following my court dates to assist me the entire step of the journey through to the end date of my probation. Sarah continued to be there to answer my calls, emails, texts questions, everything from dmv questions, to probation questions, to out of state dmv questions. My case happend while on vacation so I was unable to attend court in person and Nic was above and beyond in getting our hearings heard as early as possible via zoom and was able to attain the best outcome that could have been possible thanks to the investigating he did into the case. Without this team I genuinely believe that this would have gone a lot differently and I would still probably be paying an unfair price. I highly recommend this firm to anyone in need that wants to get the best possible outcome in the court rooms. I paid Joel Fry to defend me against Connie Matthews on charges of domestic violence. Durango is a small town. Everyone knows everyone. Connie owned a business around the corner from Joel’s office.
I told Joel that Connie attacked me multiple times. That the third time she was attacking me I pushed her off. Police arrived and I was arrested.
Joel continued to tell me to plea guilty, because he said, “The Judge will send you to jail.”. I trusted him and did. It’s now on my record. I remember him saying, “You’re retired. This conviction will not affect you.”
It came to light that Connie, single and 60, knew Joel, single and 60 and they both pretended not to know one another.
From my experience Joel Fry is not honest.
So beware.

The initial consultation started with Marty Long being concerned about my well being. Bankruptcy is hard and extremely embarrassing. Marty outlined what would take place when filing Chapter 7 and never talked over my head. Marty, also did everything he said he would do in my case. I gave Mikayla an unbelievable amount of evidence, and updated on issues throughout the 2 years of my divorce. She failed me on so many levels. She submitted documentation with incorrect information. She didn't know opposing party evidence was relating to, as she told me in the middle of my hearing. She failed to ask the pertinent questions during questioning that would have been a game changer. I would never hire her again. This isn't a bash for all because my case came out bad, I got what was most important to me, but she cost me thousands of dollars in back-owed support as well as assets that she never accounted for.

She was in with the DA and didn't help my husband at all on his case, she would not fight for him why because the court was paying her. She no better then the public defender. She didn't even give him the right days credited. She should be an attorney an do her job right or not be an attorney at all !!! I would not recommend her as an attorney, she will fail you just like she did my husband.

Harris Law Firm has done a wonderful job on my divorce. I would like to thank Kim Gent and her paralegal Maureen McAllister for all the hard work they have done. Dealing with the back and forth with the petitioner and their attorney and really paying attention and handling the responses from the petitioner, her attorney. I was really glad that Kim and Maureen got them to settle out of court to where we wouldn't have to make an appearance. I am still working with Kim and Maureen because there are some other things the petitioner still has to sign and get notarized. I like that they still want to help until every little things are completely done. Even though the divorce is over and I don't want to have any contact with the petitioner, and they understand that. Kim and Maureen have always listened to me and gave their opinion and figure out our strategy on how to approach the situation. My case was unique and took way longer to resolve than first anticipated. The cost was higher than originally anticipated, but it was due to the complications of the case. They were always helpful when questions arose. The only negative is the original lawyer quit and moved on so I had to have another lawyer assigned, but it did not really affect the outcome.

I hired Sergei because the initial consultation was smooth, and everything laid out was in line with my objectives. After I hired him, there were long periods where he was working other cases and came back to mine only when the deadline was coming due. He would then work late, last minute phone tag with my ex and I without any kind of recording, and when we went to court, my ex had pretended like none of the conversations had happened. Additionally, while sitting in court he would have casework on his computer for another client...definitely not my case because the names in the documents were none of my kids, my ex, or me. During the breaks at court he would be on the phone with other clients, and not discussing what to expect while at court, what was coming, or what he was going to do for me on my case. As the months had dragged on in this process, his clerk would file paperwork with the court that had material errors that needed to be corrected (at my expense, again), and these documents would continue to drag out my case because the financial numbers were so inflated my ex would continue to refer back to them and I'd have to provide the same statements over and over again. When he would "bargain" with my ex, it always came to surrendering more and more of my assets in exchange for moving things along. Giving up 60%, then 65%, then 70% of my 401 in exchange for getting the divorce settled and over with. I eventually had to ask that he no longer represent me in my divorce because I couldn't afford his services. There was further dispute when the severance date was, and this was adjudicated in court as well when he placed a lien on any marital assets I may be awarded. In addition to the disputed bill, I was billed for the hourly rate of him and others at his firm to file suit against me, also being added to the lien. This debt, for several thousands more, is currently in collections and I'm looking at a chapter 7 to get clear of it. I'm glad some people were pleased with his services...but I regret hiring him with every collection call I receive.

I hired Attorney Matt Patton in July of 2023 to help me with my divorce. From the very first moment I met Matt, he was not only professional and knowledgeable, but he made me feel supported, empowered, understood, and at ease. What should have taken a few months to process took over a year because of things outside both of our control. Matt was there for me every step of the way and felt my frustrations as his own. My son had Stephen McWhirter represent him in his divorce case. My son’s ex-wife was allowed to lie and defame my son’s character and his ability to parent without being confronted during a cross examine. Mr McWhirter allowed the other attorney to take all the time, delay the final hearing and claim she had full consent from my son before submitting the final hearing to the court. McWhirter not only didn’t stand up for my son but didn’t even stand up for himself with the opposing attorney. $25,000 to be drug through the mud. Disgusting.

At the beginning of the divorce case there was minimum contact. When a deadline near there was more communication but was last minute. Once it came time for mediation the charges really increased and it felt as the information gathered in the 9 months prior was not retained. In the end I would have probably saved money by representing my self because the permanent orders we 99% my exes request.

Dealing with Wick Law…best to heed their negative reviews. They seem more “Wick”-ed than helpful as burn through a retainer. We met with them to discuss case only to be told at the END of the meeting we were being charged for it. They said we should be glad they were only charging for one lawyer during the consult since they decided to bring in two lawyers to sit in. Two for the price of one they said laughing at the end. I was not aware in slightest we were paying to tell them our case!
Then took thousands in retainer (not realizing money was drawn monthly even though they were not actively working our case) which continued until just a few hundred left while we were wait on insurance to resolve our claim.
Worst part is when we were trying to move ahead and re-engage (and actually have them pursue action) they sounded interested- then just ignored us - 2 months no reply even after multiple attempts from us to hear back from them.
A professional should at least tell you if they were not wanting to take action further. We would have appreciated that before they drained us of several thousand in retainer draws!
