I can not express enough how appreciative me &’ my husband are to have Attorney Kathryn Potratz. I say ARE bc I’m pretty sure this is going to be a never ending battle for the next 14 years. Her &’ her team have gone above &’ beyond since we’ve hired them on 3 years ago when the baby was just one! I came across Nelson law firm as I was preparing to start a trust account. I could just tell during my initial conversation with Drew that he clearly understood the best approach for me to take. He explained every step of the process and encouraged me to ask questions. About 3 weeks after completing the questionnaire with my relevant information I went to his office to complete the process. What I really appreciated was that Drew talked with me, not at me, like some attorneys have done to me before. I’m extremely pleased with his professional approach. Long Story Short
Two years ago, there was a major hailstorm in Hudson, WI. I requested a quote to repair the hail damage to my house from a trusted contractor I had used before: Element Exteriors. They came back with a quote of $32,000 to replace siding, gutters and the roof. I submitted my claim to my insurance company. They sent out an Adjuster to appraise the damage. After reviewing their Adjuster's report, they came back with an offer of $2,500 after my $1700 deductible. They didn't see the need for replacement, only minor repairs. Obviously, I disagreed with their assessment since most of my neighborhood had roof, siding and gutters replaced. Most notably, the neighbors on both sides of me.
The State of Wisconsin has a law that if there is a disagreement on the settlement, there must be an Independent Appraisal. My insurance company refused to participate in or authorize an Independent Appraisal, which was against Wisconsin State Law. So, I hired Drew Nelson at Nelson and Lindquist to force my insurance company to comply with Wisconsin Law. After two years of fighting with my insurance company, Drew was able to get my insurance company to agree to an Independent Appraisal. After the Independent Appraisal and engaging in the "Mediation Process", Drew was able to convince my insurance company to pay what we felt the policy required of them and I was able to move forward with the replacement of my roof and siding.

Renee helped us with a couple of custody cases and an adoption. Everyone in her office was easy to work with and very responsive.
Renee was referred to us by a number of friends and professionals. The only people I spoke to that did not like her were individuals that were on the opposing side of a case. Which is exactly what we needed. She is thorough, and having her on our side really made us feel much better about a difficult experience.
Our case was complex but Renee was able to sift through the details, lay out our options, and help us get going in the right direction, ending with our desired result of the adoption of our son.

Renee represented me during a rough time in my life while I was attempting to obtain a restraining order.
She took her time to get to know the details of my case prior to the court date and answered all of my questions. I never felt like I was rushed during our meetings or that I had to re-explain myself. She just "got it". Her staff was also helpful and organized with their paperwork/email communication.
As someone who has never gone to court for anything before, my anxiety about the entire process was high. However, when Renee met me at the courthouse, my anxiety diminished. With her assistance prior to court, I felt prepared. And, more importantly, she was fully present and ready to handle my case. You can tell in court that Renee has extensive experience and there's no substitution for someone who has seen it all! When I needed to get custody of my daughter quickly I was referred to Ginger at Your Family Law Center. She met with my wife and I promptly to discuss the situation we found our daughter in. Not only was she able to find information about my ex and her husband to properly paint the picture of horror my daughter was living in. But with her incredible work we were granted exactly what we needed to provide our daughter with a more stable and healthier home environment. I would highly recommend Ginger, so much so that I have already referred a family member to her services. Ginger was kind and understanding with my ex's situation but demanded no nonsense in the matter of our daughter's safety.

Lindsey was the best thing to happen to me after my divorce. My ex had a large percentage of placement of our child and had been put in a position of power over me, making me feel like I had no option other than to barely see my son and pay an arm and a leg in child support.
After hiring Lindsey (and a lengthy legal battle against my ex) I am in a much better position. She helped me through filing motions, finding compromise, and even communicating with my ex. Extremely helpful, completely knowledgeable, experienced in the field, friendly, and compassionate. I don't know where I'd be without her, she was of invaluable help.

Amy represented me in a long, difficult divorce. On top of my heartbreak, I needed a lawyer who was professional and even tempered. She filed a timely counterclaim, which was essential in getting family support early on. We had numerous hearings, and she was effective in court also. She was always prepared and always respectful, yet firm. I had lots of questions about how things were handled and lots of documentation for her to review. I was ordered to sell my house quickly, among other things, so I had a lot of work to do myself. Krislyn was recommended to me by my long time tax services providor and she has been just as advertised...very good. Krislyn spent time with me to determine correct product/service and was very attentive to both myself and my wife throughout the entire process. The final product is well organized and very clear. We worked with Theresa to draft and negotiate our legal contract in a surrogacy arrangement. From the initial consultation all the way through the completion of legal clearance, Theresa was an absolute pleasure to work with.
When our clinic provided a timeline by which legal clearance was needed, Theresa went out of her way to ensure the contract was negotiated and signed by all parties with plenty of time. I was charged with my 2nd OWI back in 2021. John handled my case for 3 years. It took a year for my trial/hearing for the first ticket I was issued. John fought non stop to have my case dismissed due to lack of evidence, and witnesses. The case was indeed dismissed w/out prejudice. The ADA a few days later reissued my ticket. John did not hesitate to continuing handling this matter, and yet again fought endlessly to have this case dismissed due to lack of evidence and witnesses. John was very thorough and caring during this matter, due to myself also going through a serious DV Trial which was the reason for my “OWI.” John worked diligently on my case until yet again, it was finally dismissed with prejudice. John also helped me in navigating how to have this removed from my criminal record/fingerprints. He shared all evidence/information with me, kept me updated, along with always being available to call, text, email. I highly recommend John and his law office, he will fight for you! You’re a rockstar, John, thank you!!

Attorney Pauls was an absolute gift after having battled previous custody issues using a different attorney. We had called her office several years earlier and the impression I got from her assistant Sarah, always stuck with me. I knew we should have hired Heather at that moment. However, for whatever reason, we didn't and had ended up with a terrible attorney. A few years later, we found ourselves in need of an attorney to go back to court and our first phone call was made to Heather. Our case dealt with a teenage boy choosing to come live with his father instead - which involved also having a G.A.L. attorney appointed. Heather is very knowledgeable, professional, kind, listened to our questions/concerns. Heather and Sarah were very quick to respond back with a phone call or email. She was very upfront on all of our options and the possible outcomes, what to expect, and what we should do to prepare. Her sense of humor helped my husband relate to her, and relax, during the stressful times. We are so very pleased with how our case was handled by Heather and her assistant Sarah - they know so much and take the stress out of everything!!! Honestly, if our case turned out not in our favor, we would still recommend her based on our previous experiences with a different attorney - the quality of her work exceeded our expectations 1,000 times over. I hired them for my disability case. I have been unable to work since 2017. The only way I have mobility is by using the DONATED wheelchairs that were given to me because I have zero money coming in. I have Diabetes, chronic pain, IT Band Syndrome, Agoraphobia, anxiety and depression, and they tell me it's my problem that I wasn't approved. They were very lazy and didn't do one thing to help me get approved. You are better off trying to get SSDI yourself rather than hiring this lazy bunch of lawyers.

I Was represented by attorney Burkham in my disability case. (2024) The professionalism from Attorney Burkham and her assistant were no less than top notch! They are no doubt all business which is what I needed and they were there to help you if you have questions. Always returned calls. Never sugar coated answers. Their knowledge level was very good. If you would ask if I would trust them with any other cases of any sort I may have ?? for sure. They do deserve a 6 star rating but a 5 is all the computer will allow us to give.

On Wednesday, June 12, 2024, I contacted The Law Center, S.C. and spoke with paralegal Stephanie. I was emailed an offer to consult, scheduled a zoom meeting with Cedric for next week Tuesday, June 18, 2pm-4pm.
I made the $350 payment, then received an email from Stephanie on the same day stating that The Law Center, S.C. was unable to assist me. I was told to contact an attorney in Minnesota where I live, the other family members concerned live in Wisconsin. On The Law Center, S.C. website it states that Cedric is licensed in both Minnesota and Wisconsin.
It's definitely not good business to accept, schedule appointments with clients, take their money then decline their case. Especially because your attorney team claims to care about families.
