I wanted to write this review and recognize Attorney Joe Bugni and his assistant Trinity for their hard work and dedication in helping my wife and I.
Navigating through the legal system can seem to be an overwhelming task. When my wife and I needed legal help we contacted Mr. Bugni for help. Mr. Bugni sat down with us, took notes, and devised a plan with his assistant Trinity on how best to address our situation. Mr. Bugni and Trinity talked to us like old friends, not attorney and clients, putting us very much at ease.
As our case proceeded Trinity put together a timeline and outlined our case, so we could understand it. Trinity was always available and answered all questions we asked.
Trinity and Mr. Bugni presented our case in terms that we could understand, which makes us feel better knowing what is happening.

Joe is an extraordinary individual. I first came to know Joe 13 years ago in 2011 when he became involved in the case. During this time, he has proven himself to be a uniquely capable attorney as well as a man of outstanding character and integrity. Anyone criminally charged quickly learns the difficulties you are facing and disadvantage you are at. You find yourself having to defend against the state armed with unlimited resources, led by prosecutors that do not always behave ethically. You discover the scales of justice are not evenly balanced. To avoid being outmatched you need a powerful attorney capable of taking on the state. Joe has repeatedly demonstrated he is a strong individual advocate capable of doing that.
My case has been a long journey with the state utilizing every effort and resource, and not deterred from engaging in misconduct to gain a conviction. Yet, it has seen those convictions reversed twice, and soon a third time. Joe has been instrumental to those successes. He is an invaluable advocate. Without Joe I would have become a victim of the state.
Brief written - won awards. Arguments made - were legally and factually correct, compelling, and won. At every turn, with each news stunt and effort of the state, Joe has been here as a strong advocate, fiercely fighting back and has won. Joe is extraordinarily capable, is truly compassionate and has the integrity to give you his best and does.

As a surgeon, I appreciate people who just get the job done. Ms. Packard certainly did that for me but in a very compassionate manner. I was terminated without cause after decades of working in the same practice. She fought for me and I thus received a severance package that makes me pleased that they terminated me. She was worth every dime I paid her and was always compassionate when we spoke. She definitely fought harder for me than I would have.

In November of 2008 I retained Tamara Packard to assist me in resolving a dispute with my former employer. From the initial meeting to the signing of the negotiated agreement two months later, Attorney Packard acted dilligently, professionally, and assertively on my behalf to bring about a settlement I was more than pleased with.
My former employer is a small (100 employees) privately-held company. It was reluctant to provide the information necessary to establish a fair settlement. Attorney Packard countered their attorney's every argument against releasing information with her superior knowledge of applicable labor laws.
I completely trusted her advice during the negotiation of a severance package, and I have no doubt that she got me thousands and thousands of dollars more than I could have, on my own.
I was kept fully informed every step of the way and at no time did I feel she was "running the bill". She patiently explained the legal concepts in our strategy and I felt she really was a powerful advocate for me. She handled every step of the process, from the initial contact to the negotiated payout and redemption of my stock in the company, in a thoroughly professional manner.

I was referred to Brandon via the Lawyer Referral & Information Service of the State Bar of Wisconsin regarding a legal matter which other attorneys seemed reluctant to even talk to me about. We spent about an hour or so discussing my case and he gave me some very good advice. I didn't hire him because he felt that my case was out of his range of expertise, but he did provide me the name of a firm that might be willing to help me rather than just dismissing me or (worse) taking the case and not being able to do a good job for me. I felt he was very compassionate and concerned about my problem, and I appreciated that.

Holly should have a “10” rating on Avvo. I had met with multiple attorneys in the Madison area for initial consultation, as I had been contemplating divorce for many years owing to my abusive marriage. The lawyers I met with before Holly, didn't seem to believe me or take my concerns seriously. As I was meeting with Holly, I knew she was the right person to hire. Holly listened and was knowledgeable regarding international custody and travel considerations that needed to be addressed for my child’s safety, which was my primary concern. I have had the privilege of having her represent me over the past several years. She very proficiently and ethically practices law, is extremely well prepared, is kind, and unflappable. Highlight areas (not an exhaustive list) she addressed in my divorce include the following: representing me at a hearing in criminal court, to where a motion in family court was turfed, related to my then husband's bail conditions in criminal court that were in place to protect my child from international parental abduction; communicating with my child's guardian ad litem (GAL) and advocating for my child to the GAL; guidance through the family study process; injunction for domestic abuse against my then husband and insuring he and I were not co-located in the same room for arbitration; deposition of then husband’s employer; binding arbitration for the divorce instead of a court trial; successfully defending against my then husband’s attempts to nullify binding arbitration that had been completed for our divorce ,through her sharp knowledge and ability to cite and understand Wisconsin statues and case law at multiple hearings. She has helped me get through some of the most difficult experiences in my life!!

Corey was the most professional, patient, down-to-earth attorney and representative for our family during our case. Joe Bugni and Peter Moyers did an excellent job for me. They really poured their heart into all of the motions and showed immense attention to the case. They were also available to talk to regularly. I will admit there is a stigma around the term "Public Defenders" but, at least for Joe and Peter (I can't speak for the other attorneys as I didn't work with them) this stigma was strongly defied. Looking back I feel representation was comparable and maybe even exceeded that which could have been acquired with a private attorney. It is evident that this is a passion not just a career. All other staff (office, interns, social workers) had the same quality of service and care as well. If you're in a position where you cannot afford a private attorney you've lucked out here.
