I consulted with Attorney Thompson about my parents estate in Long Island. At her suggestion, I provided her with a copy of the documents and a set of questions prior to my appointment. She was well prepared and thorough as she provided education and answered my questions. Attorney Thompson made comments on the documents before her, provided recommendations on my parents property outside the documents. She invited me to follow-up as needed should questions later arise. I did not feel rushed or "nickled or dimed." She was professional, personable and generous with her time. I retained Kareem to handle my husbands probation violation charge. So I drove 7 hours to Georgia, so he could clear his name. However, while turning his self in we found out that he had an old speeding ticket that needed to be handled as well. When I tell you that Kareem, was in touch, on the job and knew exactly what he was doing. That alone made me feel much better. Long story short my husband was finally able to clear his name and get his license back. I thank god for directing me in Kareem's direction, it was the BEST decision ever. I would definitely recommend his service.

I started with another Law firm and quickly realized they were taking forever billing hours upon hours for preparing a simple contract that both my husband and I agreed on ( it was a very amicable separation). I fired them and hired Mr. Jones. He was very efficient, knowledgeable, easy to talk to and affordable. I am so lucky I found him, I wish I had found him before I hired that other law firm.

Never able to talk to the attorney. The secretary is a wall. When I gave a surprise visit, she had not even printed my documents. Again nothing happening, nothing to sign for 3 months. When requested assistance on how to deal with the suits i was served, the answer was a clear NO. Gave them another surprise visit, the wall did not even let me inside the office and she was acting annoyed. I am starting to think she doesn't like Hispanics.
For 3 months I waited and was never given anything to review amounts or to sign. Just emails requesting another P&L for the new month.
I am asking a refund of the $313 and I'm being ignored once again. Why not tell me NO from the beginning so I could find someone else that can be willing to speak to their clients.
Update: finally acknowledged after my review. Refund received. I have email proving you denied to help me to answer the suits which I was willing to pay you of course, I was not asking for a free ride on anything.

My wife and I hired Jud in the fall of 2013 after we were sued for a sellers disclosure disagreement on our house. From the beginning Jud explained what we were to expect throughout the process and kept us completely informed. He was ultra prepared anytime we had to face a hearing and made sure we had no outstanding questions in the judicial process. I've had lawyers in the past that sold me a dream on what they would do for me but, in the end, they never came through with everything. Don't get me wrong, I've had decent lawyers but David has surpassed them all. I was charged with driving on a suspended license not long ago and keep in mind, my driving history is not the best by any means. David sat down with the D.A and worked out a deal to where I was able to keep my license without being put on probation. I expected much worse. There was also a situation where I was facing prison time for failing a drug test and violating my probation. David not only kept me out of prison but also got me into the rehab that I needed. He will tell you like it is. He will tell you exactly what to expect and what he can do for you. David has done everything for me that he said he would and more. I have been very pleased with everything he has done for me. I will continue to use David for any problems I have in the future. I strongly recommend David for any situation no matter what it is.

Ms. White has a very difficult job. At the end of the day at least half of a party will not be happy with her because she has to make a decision about her client, your child, and decide which home is best for them. I found her to be absolutely incredible, very fare, extremely direct, and a pleasure to work with. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone needing a fare and balanced GAL.

If you are not the one whom is paying her please do not choose her. I was young and very nieve. child custody cases are very sensative and triggering and she'll take full advantage of this. she'll make you comfortable with confiding in her telling your story only for the purpose of you choosing her as your Gal and will then become very bias and intentionally try to prove the points of the paying party. If you are the paying party she's absolutely great at siding with anything and everything you claim and will work over time to do so. For single mothers living in low income areas please do not pick this women. she'll bring up a case where a mother thats "less fortunate" won to make you feel comfortable tell you how finances don't play a part in the case then she will indeed use your financial state against you and even things happening In your neighborhood that has absolutely nothing to do with you. she'll offer you legal advice to make it seem like she "helping you" only to then turn against you in court. she lacks intuition and foresight greatly and will project what ever she's personally went through and her previous cases on to you. You will indeed input loosing your child while she convinces herself and the courts that that is "what's best" her opinion "what's best" boils down to who financially has more money. I had hope and faith in her hearing my story and using her intuition and skills to see what's happening and actually speak the truth the absolute total opposite happen and its saddens my heart to even have to write this. save yourself and your relationship with your child and do not choose this women if you are not paying.

Lisa Owen was my third attorney. What I thought was going to be an easy case, rapidly escalated to one of the worst experiences I have ever been through. A divorce. If everything is smooth and no issues at all, maybe any attorney will do. When things get nasty and everything is at stake, you want to be sure you have the right team behind you. I had to changed attorneys twice because I found out as things progressed, the case was beyond the level of competance for the current attorney. One of the attorneys had to withdraw from the case because she admitted it was beyond her abilities and experience. I wish I had saved all the wasted money and time with the first two.
All I wanted, was to know, that when we went to the mat "court", the team and person fighting for me, that I had total trust and faith in them. No matter the results, I wanted to know, they were the best. Lisa Owen was professional, 100% on her game, her team behind her including Natasha, Sarah, and several others, were always pushing and driving forward. Lisa actually scared me she is so good. Sharp, articulate, fast thinker, great debator, driven, witty, a total bad as#. She is a true bull dawg and exactly what you want if the case is something that truly matters. Lisa called me on her family vacation, pushed me non stop, she thought about things I never would have, I was in awe of her and her team the whole way through. She ran the show....She directed everything. she was in charge....and that is exactly what I wanted.
Yes, I paid a lot of money to hire someone of her caliber, but, I would have saved so much money if I have contacted her first. I am so thankful to my friend that I called who works in the legal system and asked for help and who was the best? I wish I had called her at the very beginning. She said, without a doubt, you call Lisa Owen.

My divorce was the worst event of my adult life. Far worse than I could have ever imagined. The emotional drain, the physical exhaution, the fear of what may happen. Once again, some couples get divorced and it is a simple conversation and they draw it up and it is over....But if things turn nasty, if things are complicated with your family, businesses, etc, if you think you need the best, if you want the best possible outcome, and the total confidence in the team you hire....I could not recommend Lisa Owen more highly.
In my professional career, in any business field, you know when you are working with someone who is one of the best in their industry....Lisa is one of those people, as is her entire team.
I am a Marietta native. I am a 25 year veteran in the mortgage industry, and unfortunately I help clients every month go through a divorce. There is usually a home and a mortgage to deal with. You want the best helping navigate these steps. I typically help one of them move out and buy a home, and the other, I help to refinance the mortgage into their name. It is a very structured and a very emotional process.
I never thought I would personally go through it myself. I now feel like I have a Ph'D in the mortgage/divorce space. I was going through this to settle my case, but also to learn as much as I could as to the logistics of all that can take place on the legal side. I was an apprentice watching one of the best in the industry, and paying very close attention, because I was the case being tried.
I am not a personal friend of Lisa's. This review was not requested. I will rarely ever give a review, but when I do, it is only for someone that I will give my personal approval for them. If you want the best, and if you can hire her....you want Lisa Owen.
If you want to buy or refinance a house, call me....if you want to bury your spouse, call me....and I will introduce you to Lisa.

Skelton and Blackstone Attorneys helped my wife and me prepare our wills and advance directives. They carefully took us through all of the various decisions and helped us understand the ramifications of each. We left the office with complete documents which Skelton and Blackstone filed with the appropriate authorities. This gave my wife and me great peace of mind and actually did a lot to solidify our relationships as it showed how we would need to depend on each other in the event of an untimely passing. In my opinion she took my case based on the money she could make and who the litigious opposing council was. She first didn’t want to take my case but when I came back 6 to 8 months later, she heard who the opposing council was and she had a change of heart. I don’t feel she represented my interests, just hers. I was in the middle of an emotional divorce and didn’t have the wherewithal to really evaluate what was happening.

This lawyer strictly follows the rules and doesn't go the extra mile to assist you. She makes big promises but fails to deliver. She couldn't make time for an important interview, even though she knew about it months in advance. Instead, she said she'd listen in by phone but didn't even bother to do that. As expected, the interview didn't go well, and I had to pay thousands more to fix the mistakes she made. Save your money and avoid this lawyer; she's only in it for the money and lacks the emotional intelligence needed for the job.

Ms. Fielder lacks integrity and that is Key for any Lawyer when dealing with people's family, personal well being etc. I had a horrible experience with her after paying her for services. Poor communication with keeping me informed. Never returned phone calls/emails. Therefore when we arrived for court she couldnt even answer the judges questions!It was embarrasing!Not to mention she was late and forgot to file documents with the court! I paid a large amount of money as a retainer fee and she took advantage of my personal situation. Im not sure how much experience this woman has but Id say she could use about 20 more years and a few classes in humility.. DO NOT HIRE HER. When I decided to hire her I based my decision on the reviews on this site which I now know were probaly wirtten by Carrie Fiedler herself. I would hate for anyone else hoping for a good attorney to make the same mistake I did. TRUST ME! KEEP LOOKING!

I am awarding Downey & Cleveland LLP one-star because they have a partner, Attorney Sean Hynes, who has demonstrated a lack of integrity and willingness to behave judiciously when presented with an honest mistake and an offer of receipts.
In September 2024, I contracted a private chauffer, Ms. Tonya Bowers, to transport me and my family to the Hartsfield-Jackson Airport on Friday, 20 September 2024.
Ms. Bowers provided me a cell number for payment via Zelle. I sent a test payment of $1 on Wednesday, 17 September.
Zelle reported the number was assigned to a Sean Hynes. I reported this to Ms. Bowers with no reply. Given she provided the number and she did not reply to my notification it was assigned to a different name, I presume the cell number was correct.
It was not until after I had sent payment in the amount of $180 on Friday, 20 September that Ms. Bowers realized the number she provided was in error.
I immediately reached out to Mr. Sean Hynes via text and voice mail explaining the situation.
During my vacation, Ms. Bowers contacted, now known as, Attorney Sean Hynes on multiple occasions via text, and in person, seeking he return the confirmed received funds.
Attorney Sean Hynes feigned ignorance and hid behind a scam attempt. Clearly with receipts and a willingness to produce receipts, Attorney Sean Hynes refused to do the decent thing and return the funds.
I submitted two separate Zelle payment requests.
To my own chagrin, in a third attempt to request payment, I errored and sent him a second payment of $181.00 bringing the total of $362.00 sent to Attorney Sean Hynes in error.
Attorney Hynes' unwillingness to be neighborly and his willingness to continue to assume this is a scam is disappointing at best and theft by retaining funds submitted in error at worst.
I filed an online police report with Gwinnett Police who said because I know the identity of the suspect, online reports are not appropriate and if I want to prosecute the suspect for theft, I can call them to file a police report.
I had hoped to avoid this action, however, I am told that Attorney Sean Hynes was so rude to Ms. Bowers that after granting him greater than thirty-days to do the right thing, I fear I may be forced to pursue this line of action.
What is wrong with us as a society today?
I do not wish to believe Attorney Sean Hynes's behavior is the best representation of Downey & Cleveland LLP.

We required a real estate attorney not attached to a firm for a personal damages matter since we work professionally with most firms in the area and there would be a COI if we used one of the firms. The Law Offices of Jere C. Smith, LLC was recommended to us. Before engaging The Law Offices of Jere C. Smith, LLC, we communicated in writing that the case was marginal due to damages less than $10,000, and that we needed their advice if this was worth pursuing at all. We compiled all discovery and exhibits in an organized way for The Law Offices of Jere C. Smith, LLC to expediently decide if this was worth pursuing. The Law Offices of Jere C. Smith, LLC encouraged us to move forward with pushing the case. On their council, we hired The Law Offices of Jere C. Smith, LLC and agreed to move forward that we had a reasonable chance to succeed. The Law Offices of Jere C. Smith, LLC communicated poorly through this matter, including "not receiving" an email which created confusion, requiring multiple days to reply to the Defendant's Attorney on a simple matter, and by accidentally sending confidential information from another client to the Defendant's Attorney. Ultimately, this case concluded with a dead end. The Law Offices of Jere C. Smith, LLC provided no constructive benefit in our case, since from the beginning we had communicated to them in writing that the case was marginal, yet in writing they advised us to proceed. Our invoice from The Law Offices of Jere C. Smith, LLC was an amount equal to half our total damages. The invoice included time that they spent talking with us before we hired them, and the invoice included exorbitant durations of time spent for email communication: over 7 hours spent on 3 email chains. We communicated a request to change the invoice due to these unreasonable charges. The Law Offices of Jere C. Smith, LLC denied changing the invoice and threatened to pursue legal action against us if we didn't pay the invoice in full. We paid the invoice in full. We do not recommend using The Law Offices of Jere C. Smith, LLC under any circumstances.

Stephen Steeler is a crook ! He made already challenging and emotionally charged situation even worse. He repeatedly prioritized his own financial gain over the best interests of the clients, providing subpar legal advice, failing to communicate effectively, and dragging out the legal process unnecessarily. He charged for every single thing that he had to do and heightened emotional distress for those going through a divorce. His reputation is a sham ! Avoid this guy

Not a good lawyer if you don’t want to get a second job or second mortgage just to pay for your divorce. FYI - never, ever, EVER sign a non refundable retainer with an attorney. The only lawyers who do this are the shady crooks.

My brother and I retained Atty Separk to revise a will and power of attorney documents. Neither my brother nor I had prior experience with Atty Separk and contacted him based on a referral from an attorney in Florida who specialized in legal matters relevant to senior citizens. My brother and I found Atty Separk's manner to be considerate, his communication clear, and his attitude most respectful. His services were extremely helpful, and I would characterize our overall experience with Atty Separk as outstanding.

I used Separk two or three times for a will, advice, and a civil matter. He was ok but always communicated clearly that you were to listen and be quiet, he knew what was best for you, not you. He is very arrogant and clearly communicates that he is superior to you, the client. I became involved in a criminal matter and went to him for advice, whereupon he raised his voice and told me I should know better than to come to him for advice on a legal matter such as this. He was very nasty and mean spirited, which shocked me, because I had an established relationship with him. I called him a few days later to ask for an explanation for his behavior, and he refused to speak with me.
