Dealing with custody matters are tough enough to go through, time is of the essence and you need your hired team to represent swiftly and aggressively so that life can move forward and you can rest with your family again. You add trusting and spending your hard earned money only to end up picking the wrong lawyer to represent this sensitive matter is a total setback for the children first as well as the parents. Katelyn was very unprofessional, lazy and very inexperienced in the compassion department to say the least. I simply asked her to get the ball rolling & keep us updated after we paid the retainer fees and submitted her requested paperwork because we hadn't heard back. She quickly responded with a few lame excuses followed by "We can just refund your deposit ". My gut feeling was not to work with her from the start it felt like we were just a number on the pile and that she was very green and not aggressive driven to help get the job done, turns out by her response above, I was correct. I'm not really a review type and don't waste time on it but thought this would help others when looking through the billions of lawyers in thier time of desperate need. - The Glass family

Helped me through a domestic charge I was wrongfully accused of. Mr. Kaess was always easily reached and answered all my questions, of which I had quite a few as this was my first time accused of anything. He also worked out a payment plan where if he hadn't, I wouldn't have been able to afford any help yet made too much for a public defender. My lawyer Jersey 2,5 years ago asked me to write my story, and he let me write in Russian by pan on notebook. I spent about two months to write my stories. And he didn’t read my story at all. He didn’t know my story until in one week before my court. He didn’t announce me about my court date, after than he didn’t answer my call. Secretary was so neglected, and arrogant. He also took 410$ for work permit and made a mistake several times so I had gotten the permit in 1,5 years.

Around mid July of 2023, I had met with Gene Adkins from Hitchcock Law PLLC to formally sign the appropriate papers to be filed with the courts to establish my deceased grandmothers estate. Up until this point, all interactions with Gene and Hitchcock Law were timely and professional with no cause for concern. Approximately one week later 6/26/2023 Hitchcock Law deposited the $2,000 retainer check as requested and discussed during our initial in person meeting. Since sending payment to Hitchcock Law, the estate papers were filed with the court but quickly rejected due to an oversight from Gene which took place on 7/12/2023. It was not until 8/12/2023 that I had reached out for an update to be informed that there was an issue and new papers needed to be submitted; no communication on behalf of Gene or Hitchcock Law. Since then, I was told new e-sign documents would be sent over to make the requested corrections, and two months have since passed and there has been absolutely no progress. ZERO communication has been initiated by Hitchcock Law in regards to these concerns. $2,000 dollars and almost 6 moths later I am still at ground zero; a complete waste of time.

I don't honestly know were me and my son would be if it weren't for Joe Crosby! As a Mother who has never been through court or a trial, I was at a loss as to where we should begin or how to do this. WOMEN BEAWARE! This lawyer was the most rude, downright unprofessional lawyer that I have ever spoken with and because of that I have become completely disillusioned with the legal system. During an initial consult for which I was referred to him, I explained my situation which was a sensitive subject matter and the grief I had to endure throughout the whole process, Corey completely cold responds “what do you want from me?”.. sir, this is a referral, what do YOU mean what do I want from you. This prompts me to repeat why I was referred to him in the first place to which he says “I’m no interested” and then proceeds to say “good luck”. I understand that not every lawyer is going to take on each case they are referred to, I get that! However, a simple ‘no, thank you’ or just ‘no’ would have sufficed. Because of the painful experience I had with workplace harassment and bullying and Corey’s rude, unprofessional behavior, I have become completely disillusioned with the legal system and lawyers. What he said to me really hurt me in ways that I can’t even express. It was so dismissive and again unprofessional. It’s also not lost on me that most of his good reviews are by men. I would suggest women, particularly women who have dealt with workplace harassment to stay clear of Corey. He does not care, at all.

I engaged Ms. Spangler to represent me in an estate resolution dispute which is now come to a conclusion. Although she appears to have a good working knowledge of relevant legal work processes I did not feel she was an advocate for my position. I needed to do research into my case and found important information after Ms. Spangler accepted opposing counsel information seemingly without doing her own research. In addition as part of reviewing drafts of court documents I found that many needed to be corrected for typos or incorrect information, for example misspelling my name. I felt that my case was not a priority for Ms. Spangler. I will not be engaging her again, and knowing what I now know, would not have engaged her originally.

Evon Spangler is an attorney that pushes her own agenda, not the best interest of her client. She will not listen to you and your needs, and tries to fit every situation or problem into her preset mold. She is difficult to work with. She was hired by my firm for a simple contract issue, and she completely dropped the ball. She talks too much in a weird, fast paced way, and with a false air of authority. She gets her mind set on a certain path, and she refuses to change course or adapt to the needs of her client. She also tries ridiculous intimidation tactics in the hopes of scaring you into using her for other legal services. Look elsewhere!! The Twin Cities is littered with skilled business lawyers, and she is not one of them. Beware, as if you do hire Evon, she will seem confident and will make you feel comfortable at the start, however, do not be fooled, as it false security, and her charges are astronomical.
