For most people, a small capable law firm to handle our personal business is sufficient. But how difficult it is to find someone you can trust. Attorneys who actually do have your best interests and your back.
I was referred to Merritt at Farmer Law in Mount Pleasant from my title attorney. Being new to the state, a referral to someone I could trust was the only route.
Merritt took care of me. And I had need of follow thru with their staff after the case was closed and they were awesome. Efficient and with the answers I needed.
I typically don’t write reviews for law offices…in fact this is my first “legal services review!”

We retained the Law Office of Laura Huggins to close on our home in Chapin; a for sale by owner property that was far from simple and even further from a smooth transaction. The seller was demanding, set in his ways and strongly opinionated which made the sale challenging. Laura and her paralegal team were very caring and patient though the process, which is precisely what was needed for this deal to go through. Sheri and Valerie provided us assurance and walked us through all the necessary documentation. Laura is well versed in real estate transactions and addressed the all the legal issues. Because of Laura's extensive legal background, she can work through any issues that may arise eliminating any delays and unnecessary costs.
Our closing should have been a quick and easy process but we were dealing with a Corporate Relocation Company and the entire process became a nightmare of forms and tasks to be completed. Many hours of phone conversations and email exchanges were required to complete our closing within the contracted timeframe. Only because of her persistence and knowledge of the real estate closing process were we able to move into our new home on the scheduled date.

Don has been there for us through all of the trying times there can be in a successful business. Many people will see your assets as their retirement plan. I was in a bad situation with an old debt that went back several years. I had tried to call and get it settled a few years back but I had some problems with getting the debt collection agency, at the time, to give me an agreement in writing or accept my checks for payment. They wanted me to give them access to my bank account so they could do automatic withdrawal. I finally quit talking to them and just ignored it all (right or wrong). Needless to say interest and penalties added up and it was just driving me crazy to still have that out there. I went to Andrea because I did not want to go through the aggravation of dealing with them again. She was very thorough in making sure she had all the relevant information and was able to settle my case for a fraction of what they said I owed. I would use her again in a heart beat and recommend her to anyone who is need of her expertise.

Having someone go the extra mile, when I wasn’t able to, made me feel much better about my involvement and my responsibilities related to a foreclosure matter against a series of large banks I was handling for more than 5 years. Ms. Gaddy’s high standards and attention to detail made the process and result something I can look back on happy that I was involved. I felt lucky to find someone who wasn’t content with knowing more than me she wanted to know more than all the experts involved and the Judge’s order indicates that she did. Ms. Gaddy took real concern for my situation from the initial consultation forward. She laid out what was needed, cost, possible outcomes, contingency plans and probable outcomes in a clear and concise manner.
I retained Ms. Gaddy late in the process as I was blindsided by a foreclosure hearing on my mother’s home. Ms. Gaddy dropped weekend plans writing answers, motions, and collecting information (all that legal stuff only lawyers know) to halt the proceedings. Her keen knowledge of South Carolina foreclosures and her experience with the complexities of the process were clearly evident as the tables turned after our first court hearing. I can't imagine going through it without Ms. Gaddy.

John Townsend Cooper is an exceptional Mari-Time attorney, which always had my best interest at the forefront of all things in my case. While I can't really speak of other cases but through the time we spent together, I can say that I feel I gained a friend through this experience that I was going through. John townsend cooper was very punctual, honest, well spoken even when situations were not so pleasent. John is also a very easy going, mild mannered man that showed me that that he's very tolerable with some unruly characters, even when I got a little outta hand, he has ways to shine a light of a calmer voice of compasion and very understanding that always seemed to bring a brighter side to what sometimes seemed difficult situations at the time. Rachel met with the police officer prior to the court date to work out a deal. She was able to convince him to agree to defer my sentences. The police officer suggested to the judge that my sentencing be deferred. I didn’t have to speak in court. I had to pay no fines. It seems to me from my experiences that most lawyers are in it only for the money and could care less about their clients well being... they just want to get paid, even if getting paid puts their clients in bad financial situations. Its hard to find a lawyer that not only works hard on your case but cares about their clients as well. Christopher Inglese works hard for his clients. He will do his best to go above and beyond. He does his research, finds the facts, and the best solutions. He has been my lawyer since 2011. He worked on my divorce case which would have been difficult for any lawyer to take on due to all the defendant had been doing to me (harassment, abuse, theft, destruction of property, and so on).
