Confused during the majority of my case. Did not understand what was going on. Probably because there were numerous different people with their hands in the basket I never knew who was working my case. Thought everything was good and done in 2023, but come to find out Cassie and her team dropped the ball and my custody case was never filed with the courts. A year later my case was about to be thrown out. Then to top it off, After making payment arrangements with me for her outrageously high prices, she dropped out of my case! I now have no legal counsel for a court date she caused by not filing my case and she also went back on her agreement on allowing me to pay a certain amount per month until I got on my feet. Couldn’t have happened at a worse time. Thanks Cassie! (sarcasm) Would highly NOT recommend this firm and after reading other reviews, charging a ridiculous amount and then dumping you is what she seems to do.

I was referred to Harward through my employer's assistance program. I saw negative reviews, but calling Harward a criminal or saying a 10 year old could do better sounds like a bitter customer writing from the wrong place. Also, the assistance program referral was supposed to give me a decent discount (I can't prove $250 is decent, as I suspect their normal rate is $265. But either way, it's not lower than many other lawyers). So I continued, not knowing where else to turn.
Jim counselled me to petition to modify my divorce decree because it was a mess. This was an exaggeration (he would later focus on just one thing), but I'm glad he talked me into fighting. Considering my financial situation, Jim agreed to a low retainer and a low monthly payment.
We tried to arrange mediation, but after some back and forth, Jim determined it was not going to work and opted to go straight for the petition to modify.
When Amy sent me the first draft of the petition, it was practically useless; fixing very little of the "mess". When I asked Jim about it, he said that crafting the petition was like sculpting a statue: start with a block and refine it through several rounds (or something like that). I now think it's more likely that Amy was given the task of writing the petition without being provided the information she needed. This happened again later with the drafting of our objection to an order to show cause.
While working through the petition to modify with Amy, I often had to fix typos in and omissions from the legal document (one in particular was about my income and could have ruined the whole case).
During one meeting I called with Jim, we discovered that the opposing party had filed an order to show cause against me. Why weren't they aware of this? Why hadn't they notified me? (This happened again when I called about something else and they informed me that a court date and mediation had been scheduled - I shouldn't have to call to find out.)
We filed a counter order to show cause and I again felt that I was doing more of the work than I should have to. They provided the legal know-how, but I was the one providing the arguments and proofreading. Maybe I'm thinking of a different price bracket, but I think the lawyer should be doing that.
With the counter order and petition in place, Jim felt that the commissioner would dismiss the case in favor of mediation. With this reassurance, I forgot about it until my calendar sent a reminder the day of the hearing. I called Harward to make sure it was off and they notified me that it was not. I needed to be there.
At the hearing, Jim pulled me aside and asked if the other party had been calling the shots and I had been going along with it. It turns out this was to be his argument. In the hearing, Jim used his argument and said we just need to go to mediation. The commissioner sided with the opposing party based on an exaggerated claim that had nothing to do with the law (but at least they HAD an argument). So in that hearing, Jim and Commissioner Luhn both ignored the divorce decree and the counter order to show cause that Amy and I had worked so hard on. The counter was essentially a waste of time and money (though it shouldn't have been).
Afterward, Jim tried to convince me that we got what we wanted. We would file an objection and take it to the judge after mediation. But he didn't tell me we only had 14 days to object and the commissioner's recommendation was a COURT ORDER until a judge overturns it.
This was when I decided to end my relationship with Harward. I found that the other negative reviews were accurate. Jim's friendly and reassuring, but doesn't follow through. He exaggerates. He didn't fight for me in the hearing (despite the prep work we did). They didn't know/didn't tell me important information. Jim tries harder to work his clients than the legal system.

During a custody case, I needed him to help me file paperwork and get things going. He was terrible at communication, I had to call every day multiple times a day just to get a response. I had to call the court on numerous occasions to figure out what was going on in my case. After one phone call with the court, I found out that he made a mistake on the paperwork and had to refile but he never did. This was back in February it is now May and still hasn't been filed. I was told that they would be closing the case shortly if there was no action done by the attorney. I am severely disappointed as I had to pay the fees upfront and now I am essentially ghosted. I am a struggling single mom and I am not happy with him at all. He should just stick to estates and not do family law at all.

I hired him in November 2018 To get some clarity on some divorce decree issues. He bid the case at under $2500 and estimated it would take 2 or 3 months. 15 months later and after nearly $10K I fired him. Thru this process he was was unable or unwilling to have things happen that he promised. His billing was random in timing. I handled the case pro se and had it settled in 6-7 months. I would never hire him again. Complete waste of money and would not recommend him to anyone. Completely dissatisfied client

Used his firm for an adoption case and it was a nightmare. From the beginning he was horrible at sticking to timetables and keeping us updated. With it being a family law case and one that was highly sensitive anyway, there was not a lot of understanding on his part for that. He never bothered to even remember the children's names, or my last name for that matter. There was always misspellings, mistakes, etc. My biggest problem with was him keeping his word, filing correct documents and keeping us informed. We had better luck getting updates from the court house and eventually went with another firm that did the job he swore wasn't possible.

We were referred to Trevin to help us get an LLC organized for our new business (we were told we might need more than what an online service would offer). We are new to all this, so we called and talked with his secretary about meeting with him to ask some questions and see what would be best for our situation. We scheduled an appointment for 3pm one day, and had babysitters coordinated and our schedules cleared so we could meet with him. My husband got a call from Trevin at 2pm while he was at work. We don't know if this error was just a matter of convenience for Trevin or a mistake by his secretary, but my husband could hardly hear him let alone focus on their conversation with the noise and demands of his work, and Trevin didn't seem to care that there had been a mistake with the time. They talked briefly about what we potentially needed then ended the conversation. We had multiple questions we had wanted to ask, price being one of them, that we never had the chance to, and we had planned everything out to meet with him for nothing. We then received an email with a link to the draft of the paperwork for our LLC a few days later. We emailed him back and asked what the price would be to move forward with all this, and he replied with an outrageous amount that we couldn't afford. When we asked for clarification on what we were getting having him do it vs. forming our LLC online, he started spotting off jargon left and right, which seemed to us like he was trying to intimidate us into using his services because he knew we wouldn't understand the terms he was throwing out. We replied and said we needed to go a different direction, not only because we couldn't afford him, but because we didn't like how he never seemed to be upfront with us and wasn't a teacher AT ALL. We then received a bill in the mail for $250 for the phone, call, three emails, and creating the draft (which was extremely simple for a sole owner LLC). To us that spoke a lot of his character, are very relieved we decided not to work with him. We understand his time and expertise are valuable, but when the communication is horrible from the get-go and we pay the price for it, there's something wrong with that. And of course, because he's an attorney, we feel like we have no power to fight this, so we will just end up paying him anyway. He might be a decent lawyer for someone who can call him on his crap and has years of business and law experience, but for anyone that is just starting out, he is far from helpful.

This attorney avoids returning phone calls, text messages, replying to emails, and has a tendency to disappear when you need help.
This attorney is quick to believe non-credible people and non-credible information about his client and jump on the bandwagon / false narrative without getting the other side of the story or prematurely before getting the proven facts.
If you communicate to him how you feel things are going with his "services" and improvements you would like to see, he is quick to dismiss your concerns, act in a rude manner by calling you a name and/or make false assumptions about you based on no evidence. He doesn't like getting constructive criticism.

I was in an extremely messy divorce process with a spouse who was making false allegation. I went from having supervised visitation to joint physical and legal custody, defended me successfully in mediation, he got me a good deal in spite of the negative experience a divorce is. Mr. Cahill gave me lots of advice before the divorce filed which was a huge help for me as a client in the legal issues I faced in the process. Highly recommended.

Trent Cahill seemed like a nice professional guy when I first met him; however, during the process of him representing me, there were many times where I felt he was representing the opposing party. He tried pushing me to make decisions that would help the opposing party. He would sometimes send time sensitive emails later than I would expect something of time sensitive nature to be handled. I tried to communicate that I would prefer to receive emails sooner. But I continued to receive emails late. I would recommend Trent Cahill if you want to spend a lot of money for subpar performance and results. I would not recommend Trent Cahill if you want to be strongly represented.

I paid them a retainer up-front to get started. And without ever having a conversation with them, they burned through most of it.
I don't mind paying something for document review and a discussion, but all Keiter did was glance at some documents. Didn't provide any legal advice.
We gave them a chance to make it right, but they insisted on keeping the money. So that's why I'm letting everyone know in this review. If you care about reputation, take care of your customers. Even negative reviews can be turned around.
We all make mistakes-- but sometimes, like here, it's intentional and they prefer money or morals. I never even got to talk to this lawyer about the case once. So I'd say the value was pretty low.
Not looking for a free consultation, but if you don't actually start and we don't even get to discuss the case, why pocket the money?
Even if the client was completely wrong and a jerk, is it really worth ruining your reputation from having the client tell everyone what you did to them?
