I came to Elliot for a consultation to handle my 10 year old felony case. I hadn't completed the terms of my probation, none of it, and I was ready to turn myself in. As it turned out not only was my felony probation violation open, but also a slew of smaller warrants for traffic violations.
I consulted with a few different attorneys who were all really great but I decided to go with Elliot and I am very glad that I did.
First he met me on a Saturday which was very convenient. He genuinely seemed to care about helping me. He was honest and upfront, didn't make any promises to give me false hope. Which I appreciated as I knew how serious the consequences were going to be.
Leading up to court there were many times that I had questions about our strategy and Elliot was always available to reply via email, and take my calls. It felt like I was his only client.
In front of the judge where it matter the most, Elliot really came through. When my character came into question, he argued fiercely on my behalf. That's when I was 100% sure that I had made the right choice.
In the end I received my best possible outcome, and I have Elliot to thank for that. Out of 4 cases (1 Felony and 3 Misdemeanors) that he handled for me I received positive outcomes in each. Alex worked with me after I got into a head-on collision where the other driver was at fault. Unfortunately, the other driver's insurance was very stingy, and I didn't know how to pursue the case since I have never been in an accident like this before. Thankfully, Alex was an efficient, knowledgeable, and honest attorney. I never felt like I had to wait on him -- he was constantly working on my case and updating me on the progress. Alex is a very straightforward and hardworking attorney. I got into an accident that severely injured my back and I tend to just let things go easily until the insurance called me and offered me $200 for the personal injury. At that point, I went on Avvo and found Alex so I decided to contact him and see what are the steps to take forward. Within the day, he got me into a chiropractor, he had texted me from his personal phone number both in and out of office hours to answer any questions or concerns I had about the case. This was my first experience actually calling a lawyer for a car accident and Alex didn't treat me like a customer throughout the process but he treated me like a friend and he did everything in his power to get a settlement out of the most stubborn and most complained about insurance company. For years, I was under the impression that attorneys are cutthroat and just straight to the point. As someone who enjoys connecting with the individuals that I work with or whose services I utilize, I was worried about interacting with attorneys in any capacity. Boy, was I flat out WRONG. I meant to write this review a while back, but I got sidetracked. Recently, I was reminded about my past car accident and so I wanted to take the time say what a pleasure it was to work with Jahrmarkt & Associates.
As I stated earlier, I had been involved in a car accident and John Jahrmarkt and his team were able to get me a monetary settlement I didn't think was possible.
They worked very hard from start to finish. Tyler was assigned to my case and he always kept me in the loop with updates on my case. They assisted with finding an excellent rehab facility for my injuries from the accident.
These is a very professional team. They work with the utmost integrity and compassion.
I would not hesitate to use them again for any personal injury needs.

Wow, not really sure where to start. I thank my lucky stars every day that I was fortunate enough to find John when I needed an attorney. Is he a great lawyer....you betcha! But whats even better is that he's just a great guy! In 2011 I moved I to Los Angeles from Detroit. I was not working, staying with friends, and had no health insurance. I had been in the USA about a year Two weeks after I arrived to LA I was rear ended on the Ventura Freeway by an uninsured motorist from El Salvador. I sustained injuries and approximately $6000 in damage to the car I had had less than a year. The only mileage on it really was from the drive from Detroit to LA. Long story short Michigan is a no-fault state and their insurance laws are a 180 degrees different from California's. AAA my insurer John sued for negotiating in bad faith. Anyways John navigated the two-state difference in law, got me the medical attention I needed, GOT ME LOST WAGES when I wasnt even employed and then got me the MAXIMUM SETTLEMENT allowed under my uninsured motorist coverage. Meanwhile the whole time John kept me in the loop, worked like a pit-bull, took a genuine concern that I was receiving the best medical attention, and sought to get me the best settlement possible. John has the ability to listen, never waffles when asked direct questions, and IS ALWAYS ACCESSIBLE. If there was a way to make it better it eludes me??? I can't stress enough that if you need legal assistance John is your guy!! I'd give him 6 Stars if it was possible!!!!

I went on a 4 year adventure with Nina after I was involved and injured in a six car pileup on the freeway. Nina and her team took care of all the background work over the years and when it (finally!) came time for trial this year Nina went into full warrior mode! To say that this was an arduous case is a great understatement. A great understatement, but Nina fought for me. Two years ago I was attacked by a Pit Bull dog.

I never thought I would be hit by a car as a pedestrian! But here in LA it’s a real problem with bad drivers texting instead of watching the road! I hired Robert Klein to represent me when I was rear-ended by another driver, totaling my vehicle and causing me injury. Mr. Klein and his assistant Jenny took the time to go over every piece of paper and how the law was applicable to my case, and advised me on the best way to move forward after things started looking grim. First, I’d like to start off by saying that if I could give The Accident Guys 8 stars I would. I have never experienced so much professionalism and punctuality in my entire life. The lawyer that took on my case was Eliot M. Houman. He is the best of the best for the following reasons:
1. Eliot is a MAN OF HIS WORD. If Eliot says that he is going to do something, HE WILL. That is a priceless trait.
2. My accident took place in September 2016. Eliot scheduled me to see the investigator the following day after my accident. That is unheard of.
3. Eliot was very prompt! He answered all of my questions and returned all of my calls. I had many questions because I just moved to California from Boston and it was a very traumatizing experience.
4. He gave me updates about my case and took care of everything. He went out of his way to help me obtain the documents pertinent to my case.
5. He’s very honest. He walked me through my case and gave me great advice.
6. HE GENUINELY CARES ABOUT HIS CLIENTS! He frequently called me to ask how physical therapy was going. It’s those little things that mean the world to me and show me that this was more than just a case to him.

John is very smart and successfully have represented me in two different occasions with a couple accidents while riding my Vespas. In each occasion he provided me with strong recommendations, and would explain all the details in layman’s term. In the beginning of this year I was unfortunately rear ended by a cab driver. A friend of mine had recommended to call John instead of just going through insurance myself and it was definitely the best decision I have made.
