Contacted and spoke to Rebecca Sczepanski a month ago regarding work about ERISA law. Initial communication was good, but I have not heard or received any updates for a month now. Zero follow-up about progress of work just a simple “I’ll get back to you”. I ended up having to contact other sources to get my questions answered. I’ve terminated work with this firm after getting no legal advice at all and only exchange of a handful of emails. Do not recommend.

Terrible experience with inexperienced lawyers. I orginally called this firm to possibly handle my claim for probate and possible litigation. I spoke to David Burkoff who did listen to my case which involved my brothers fraudulent actions. David did seem interested and asked questions to see if he was competent in supposedly the line of expertise they handle. The next day i get an email stating in short that there was no conflict of interest but said that he would be too expensive and then he proceeded to pawn me off on one of their inexperienced lawyer Gracie Shepherd Saas. David said that this was an area she could handle and proceeds to give me her contact info to see if this was a case she could proceed with. I left a message with Gracie the same day as she was copied in the email. I didn't here back from her so i wrote an email and four days later we spoke. When we spoke i gave her an outline for of my case for approx 20-25 minutes. At the end she didnt ask any questions and the only thing she wanted was a copy of my parents will and trust. I asked why she needed this because this was Not pertinent info she needed right away. She didn’t answer me. I gave her what she needed and she said she would get back to me right away. Well, she never got back to me. I also left David a message three days ago and Never heard back from them. They completely ghosted me. I can see that Gracies inexperience and unprofessional manner by ghosting me will greatly impact this unprofessional law firm. I just wonder how many other people they haven't followed up with. I'm assuming they only want easy, straight forward cases that don't require and skills other than just having a law degree. I would definitely pass on this inexperienced law firm that doesn't have the decency to even return calls nor show any professionalism.

During my entire case I did all the foot work and I brought him countless evidence and he presented none worth my fight. He asked me for character witnesses I gave him 4 he supeona them but said know need to call on them. Bottom line I lost custody of my son not because I was unfit but because I was represented poorly. He is hard of hearing so during the trail as I was telling him of errors from my now ex husband he couldn't hear me so I had to write as fast as I could. When the ruling was passed down he didn't offer to appeal on my behalf he attached a note saying he agreed with the judge. So in the end a child I have cared for on my own for 2 years without any child support what so ever has been taken away and I now am ordered to pay child support all because of a temporary order that the child's doctor went against when the child fell ill, he never supeona the doctor. I wouldn't recommend him if you love your children because you will loose them in the end.

I hired this lawyer a few years back. I had worked with several other lawyers in the past. He was by far the best. I would highly recommend him.

Mr. Riddle is the best adoption attorney in Savannah. He worked with my husband and I when we adopted our daughter. He is very knowledgeable and made sure we had all our bases covered. I would say without a doubt that he is one of the most compassionate attorneys in Savannah and I give him my highest recommendation. Anyone who is looking to adopt, whether it be here in the U.S., internationally, or even if they are working with a surrogate, should use Mr. Riddle. He is an excellent attorney and my husband and I believe he is the only choice for adoption in Savannah.

Mr. Bateski represented me back in 2008 before I knew of this website. It was a serious matter. My dad had a friend who recommended Mr. Bateski We had a few meetings discussing the case and law. My situation was explained to me. I was left to make my own choices. He stated that he had to be prepared to go to trial regardless of what happens during the hearings. He was competent in court. He represented me and protected my rights in court and phone calls with the judge and DA. Ultimately, my case was not prosecuted so we never started a trial and I cannot comment on his work in trial. This other reviewer talking about anxiety is not like what I remember. I would not call him the worst lawyer as that reviewer did. Since we didn't go to trial he refunded most of his retainer. His retainer was very reasonable in the first place. I think he charged much less than other lawyers would've charged.

I received a speeding citation 2 years ago in GA while driving from FL back home to NC. Without knowing all my rights I paid the fine because I was out of state. About 3 months later I was sent a second fine for the same ticket (super speeder fine). Again, I was out of state and unfortunately just paid the ticket. Then GA finally got around to notifying my home state about the citation almost two years after the fact and they sent me a notice that my drivers license was being revoked for 6 mths. Mr. Bateski advised me very well and worked with the court in GA on my behalf. Ultimately, Mr. Bateski got the original citation vacated in GA, which saved my license in NC. I am so grateful for his dedication, speed with handling my case and responsiveness. I hope to never need an attorney again, but if I do he will be the one!

MR. BATESKI IS THE WORST LAWYER TO GET. ALTHOUGH HE IS CHEAP, HE HAS ANXIETY ISSUES AND GETS VERY NERVOUS WHEN IN COURT. I HAD A SIMPLE CITY ORDINANCE AND BEFORE I COULD EVEN SAY ANYTHING HE HAD ALREADY AGREED TO TAKE A PLEA THAT WOULD HAVE RUINED MY CAREER. HE THEN WENT ON TO GIVE ME BACK MY MONEY BEFORE I HAD TO GET STERN AND ALMOST MOTIVATE HIM TO DO HIS JOB! I EVEN HAD TO TELL HIM TO SAY WHEN TALKING WITH THE JUDGE...PATHETIC!

L.NIcole King had started a law suite of mine back in March of 2012 and it dawned on me around Halloween that I had not recieved any phone calls fromher pertaining to my case. So lets keep in mind that now it's October and my case has now been in her hands for going on eight months now and she refuses to return calls or respond to my text. She almost made me wonder if in fact she was intintionally trying to run the time out on my case considering there is a 2 year Statue of Limitation on Lawsuites, so that way I could terminate her and she still get paid for doing absolutely nothing. Well to make a long story short I did end up terminating her as my representation and she put a lean on my case so I guess I'll see what all she's going to say she did with in that time frame which was absolutely NOTHING! I would not recommend L.Nicole King to a Dog! I think she just gets a kick out of having the Title as an Attorney before her name. She needs to give it up because she's Horrible.

What a Car Accident Lawyer Can Do for You

A car accident lawyer specializes in representing individuals who have been injured in motor vehicle accidents. These lawyers help victims secure compensation for medical expenses, lost wages, property damage, pain and suffering, and other losses resulting from a car crash. They also negotiate with insurance companies, investigate the cause of the accident, and, if necessary, represent clients in court to ensure they receive fair compensation.

If you've been injured in a car accident - whether as a driver, passenger, cyclist, or pedestrian - a car accident lawyer can help protect your rights, navigate the insurance claims process, and ensure you receive the compensation you're entitled to.

When Should I Hire a Car Accident Lawyer?

Consider hiring a car accident lawyer in several situations, especially when the accident results in injuries, property damage, or disputes with the insurance company. Key situations include:

  • Serious injuries: If you’ve suffered significant injuries, such as broken bones, spinal injuries, or traumatic brain injuries, a lawyer can help you seek compensation for medical expenses, future treatment, and pain and suffering.
  • Disputes with the insurance company: If your insurance claim has been denied or the insurance company offers an unreasonably low settlement, a lawyer can negotiate on your behalf to ensure you get fair compensation.
  • Liability disputes: If the other driver’s insurance company is disputing fault or claiming you were partially at fault, a lawyer can gather evidence to prove the other party’s negligence.
  • Wrongful death: If a loved one was killed in a car accident, a lawyer can help the family pursue a wrongful death claim to recover compensation for funeral expenses, loss of companionship, and other damages.
  • Uninsured or underinsured driver: If the at-fault driver lacks sufficient insurance coverage, a lawyer can help you explore other compensation options, such as filing a claim with your own insurance company.
  • Complex cases: Accidents involving multiple vehicles, commercial trucks, or complicated circumstances require legal expertise to manage complexities and hold all responsible parties accountable.

Hiring a lawyer early in the process can help ensure that your rights are protected and that you receive the full compensation you deserve.

What Does a Car Accident Lawyer Do?

A car accident lawyer provides various legal services to help injured individuals pursue compensation for their injuries and losses. Their responsibilities often include:

  • Investigating the accident: Gathering evidence like police reports, witness statements, photos, and video footage to determine how the accident occurred and who was at fault.
  • Filing insurance claims: Assisting clients in filing claims with their insurance company and the at-fault driver’s insurer to ensure all necessary documentation is submitted correctly.
  • Negotiating settlements: Working with insurance adjusters to secure fair compensation for medical bills, property damage, lost wages, and pain and suffering.
  • Calculating damages: Determining the full extent of your damages, including current and future medical expenses, rehabilitation costs, lost income, and non-economic damages like pain and suffering.
  • Handling medical bills: Coordinating with healthcare providers to ensure your medical bills are paid and helping you avoid financial hardship during the claims process.
  • Filing lawsuits: If the insurance company refuses a fair settlement, the lawyer can file a lawsuit and represent you in court.
  • Representing you in court: Presenting your case before a judge and jury, providing evidence and witness testimony to prove negligence and your right to compensation.

How Are Car Accident Lawyers Paid?

Most car accident lawyers work on a contingency fee basis, meaning they only get paid if they win or settle your case. The key aspects include:

  • Contingency fee: The lawyer’s fee is typically between 25% and 40% of the total settlement or award. You won't pay upfront fees; the lawyer's payment comes from the compensation they recover for you.
  • No fee if no recovery: If the lawyer doesn’t secure compensation for you, you generally don't owe any legal fees.
  • Case expenses: You may be responsible for certain costs related to your case, such as filing fees or expert witness fees. These are usually deducted from the settlement after the lawyer's fee is paid.

Discuss the fee structure during your initial consultation to understand how much you'll owe if your case is successful.

How Much Does a Car Accident Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a car accident lawyer is generally based on the contingency fee arrangement. General estimates include:

  • Contingency fee percentage: Lawyers typically charge between 25% and 40% of the total settlement or award. For example, if you receive a $100,000 settlement and the lawyer's fee is 33%, the lawyer would receive $33,000, and you'd keep the remaining $67,000.
  • Case expenses: Additional costs such as court filing fees, expert witness costs, and administrative fees can range from $1,000 to $10,000 or more, depending on the case complexity.

Ensure you get a clear explanation of fees and expenses during your consultation.

Top Questions to Ask a Car Accident Lawyer

Before hiring a car accident lawyer, consider asking the following questions:

  1. What experience do you have with car accident cases?
Confirm the lawyer has handled cases similar to yours, especially involving serious injuries or complex liability issues.
  2. How do you charge for your services?
Understand the contingency fee percentage and any additional costs you may incur.
  3. What is the likelihood of success in my case?
Seek an honest assessment of your case's strengths and potential challenges.
  4. How long will the process take?
Get an estimate of the timeline for settling or taking the case to trial.
  5. Will you handle my case personally?
Ensure you know who will be managing your case and their level of involvement.
  6. What kind of compensation can I expect?
Ask about the types of damages you may be entitled to, including medical bills, lost wages, and pain and suffering.

How to Check the Credibility of a Car Accident Lawyer

To ensure you're hiring a reputable lawyer, take the following steps:

  • Check their bar status: Verify with your state bar association that the lawyer is licensed and in good standing.
  • Review their experience: Look for specialization in personal injury and car accident cases.
  • Read client reviews: Consult platforms like Avvo or Martindale-Hubbell for testimonials and ratings.
  • Ask for references: Request contact information of previous clients willing to discuss their experience.
  • Check professional affiliations: Membership in organizations like the American Association for Justice (AAJ) indicates a commitment to the field.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To maximize the effectiveness of your initial meeting, bring the following:

  • Police report: A copy of the accident report filed by the police.
  • Medical records: Documentation of your injuries, treatments, and medical expenses.
  • Photos and videos: Any visual evidence from the accident scene and of your injuries.
  • Insurance information: Copies of your insurance policy and any correspondence with insurance companies.
  • Witness information: Contact details and statements from any witnesses.
  • List of questions: Prepared questions about your case and the legal process.

Being well-prepared helps the lawyer assess your case accurately and advise you on the best course of action.
