I cant say enough good things about Steven Stolar and his team of lawyers. Steven always returned my calls and answered my questions. Through such a tough and emotionally intense time, having decided to hire Irene to take our case was by far the best decision we could've ever made. Irene Intelligator represented me in a highly contentious case. she was honest and professional. The first time i visited her office, she comforted me and gave me courage. she also explained to me that litigation is expensive and only the attorneys benefit from prolonged litigation. By encouraging me to settle, she was clearly acting in my, as opposed to her own, financial interest. Her goal of trying to settle while at the same time agressively pursuing the case to do so was very obvious. Irene always made herself available and promptly responded to and addressed my concerns. I highly recommend Irene Intelligator to any one who wants a lawyer with integrity and knowledge!

We hired Jamra and Jamra for a volatile divorce and were super happy to have Michael Hanasab handle our case. There were lots of scary issues to contend with regarding child custody and allegations about unfairness in the divorce proceedings. Michael gave the best advice, although I wasn’t the best at following it, I did end up getting full custody of my children. I wish that all of this never happened but am very grateful to Michael for being the voice of reason. He was able to defend a lot of the unjust accusations and kept a calm demeanor throughout all of the drama. I will always be appreciative of Michael’s knowledge of the law and his ability to apply it with such precision. He is honest, reliable and professional. He will get the job done for you and I would highly recommend him.

I was in a very stressful and critical phase of my divorce where I was being accused of some pretty untrue, but lethal things that could have caused me to not get the custody of my children I wanted and deserved. I hired Mike and he came in there and made the "clutch free-throws" when it counted. He responded perfectly to the opposing council. We ended up going to court and he walked in their looking highly polished and confident, not arrogant and made the opposing council so nervous, they had no choice but to back down and give me what was fair and reasonable.
I highly thank Mike for his professionalism and patience in this war-like and stressful situation. I'd highly recommend him.

I hired Michael (along with Grace Jamra) in 2011. I came over from another big firm as I had been disappointed with the direction of my ongoing custody case. At the time I hired Michael I was facing more litigation and hearings and an evaluation. Michael was able to talk to opposing counsel and made every attempt to calm the situation. He knew my case inside and out, was reachable when I needed him and guided me through some very tough times. When it came to the evaluation Michael was instrumental in helping to pick the right evaluator (something that took quite a while) and met with me on several occasions to answer any and all questions I had about the process. Needless to say, my case turned around and in the end Michael was able to get opposing party to settle (even though opposing party was adamant about fighting and going to trial).
As for cost, I had to laugh at the negative review here. I was charged triple that amount at my previous firm in a matter of months. The billing with Michael @ Jamra & Jamra was incredibly fair and hugely different billing practices than some of the bigger firms. I never once felt I was being over billed or double/triple billed like I did at my previous big firm. Anyone who is going into custody litigation needs to do research and realize that it is an expensive area of law and the more litigation involved the higher the costs. I wouldn't think twice before recommending Michael to others if they needed a good and competent custody/divorce lawyer.

Ms. Buchman is such an amazing resource. She will uncover every avenue to make sure you are protected under the law and that your child is safe and protected as well. Ms. Buchman is fair, honest and pragmatic. She helped me in a very difficult post-judgement situation where my ex-husband was out of control in many ways. Merissa V. Grayson is an excellent attorney.
She is a step-mom and has a blended family of her own.

This is A notice , that if this firm continues to be dishonest , representatives im my case, I will be addressing my concerns with the State Bar. Intimidation has been used to try to discourage me to tolerate lack of representation towards my case. I’ve been questioned regarding statements that the opposing party has made after this firm contacted the opposing party. I’ve been told at least five times that this case was being filed with the court in the jurisdiction of my claim. I have yet to see any proof or case number in relation to this matter. My intelligence has been continuously insulted which has prompted this email. The doctors that work with this firm are also questionable. I’ve seen the Social Media accounts for this firm quoting that clients should be honest with the firm . While the firm follows a”do as I say and not as I do “ behavior. And in my opinion has poor work ethic. I have been respectful in this matter and patient. I don’t feel that I am being properly represented. I was told that A private investigator was hired and that I would be contacted , that it took 2 weeks to obtain insurance information from the Landlord who refused to provide her insurance. It’s been well over that time frame. I was told that the firm was providing payments upfront for filing and obtaining information. Although that maybe true this service is not free of charge. This is where intimidation and manipulation came into place regarding the percentage of my settlement. At this time I do not view this firm as trustworthy. I have kept my public opinion to myself, out of decency and respect. I don’t feel that anyone should be taken advantage of , because of lack of knowledge or different profession. Being rude , because a client is unwilling to accept anything said without proof is unprofessional is wrong ethically and morally. In my opinion it’s a manipulation tactic. I don’t appreciate the treatment I’ve been receiving, or the dishonesty. After I emailed this to the firm , I was accused of being disrespectful, which I now way was disrespectful . I expressed my true feelings regarding my experience and of course they terminated representation after this, to cover up their lies. I stand by what I said !

Had a consultation with Cathleen after being referred by a friend and was NOT disappointed.

Finding Joni was a God send! Literally!! I heard her commercial on the radio and wrote her phone number down. A year later, when I decided I needed a lawyer, I couldn’t find her number so I prayed about it. The next day I got in my car driving home from work and her commercial came on the radio! I pulled over in my car and immediately called her and was able to speak with her. I made my appointment and met this wonderful, intelligent, compassionate woman who understood what I was going through, and what I needed to do. Joni not only helped me through the most desperate time in my life, but also became my friend. She was always there for me answering any of my questions, sometimes in the wee hours of the morning. I would describe Joni as a wolf in sheep’s clothing. She looks so sweet but she is fierce and gets the job done!! She knows how to handle opposing lawyers, her knowledge of judges and the court system is remarkable. Sadly I must review my experience with this law firm. There appears to be MANY negative reviews with similar complaints regarding this firm, too many actually and date back over a decade. Check for yourself on Google, Yelp, BBB, Pissed Consumer and other sites. Hindsight, I should of used the clinic at the courthouse that offers assistance with legal matters. This has been the most devastating burden in our life and based on our experience and opinion it appears to point in the direction of recurring issues that resonates with other posted negative reviews.
I can offer some constructive consumer feedback to help protect the public before hiring an attorney. (FYI: The information below is available for public consumption)
*Check the State Bar Website. DONOT hesitate to use it to follow up with a bad experience.. It's the insurance to protect the public and defer misconduct and unethical behaviors. Its success hinges on the public's help.
*The State Bar Client Security Fund may be of assistance due to an attorneys dishonesty.
*Check the attorneys business information on the Secretary Of State website. This is a Tall Tale if you understand their procedures and codes.
*Attorney cases can be reviewed at the court house.
*Review your billing within 5 days and if you see any issues (such as: is the retainer fee depleted without any completed work) inquire in writing immediately! The billing practice should not be "creative and collaborative " immediately start to make notes on the bills and DOCUMENT DOCUMENT. Save all correspondence, invoices and statements. If threatened with severing of representation over billing questions: STOP DROP AND ROLL...
*READ the contract, it may seem ok on the face.... is it UNBALANCED to the unsuspecting?
*Maintain a call log.
*Note "complimentary services" then bill you ( court reminders which by the way are generated by the court for free).
*Free consultation, then bill you. Give your head a shake.
*DOCUMENT EVERYTHING.
*It's important for every consumer to help protect the public with hopes that law firms have significant insight to their oath and professional responsibility. If you suspect foul play due to indiscretions meet and confer with the District Attorneys Office.
One more thing: "we treat you like family" it's a cliche. ("A cliché is an expression, idea, or action that has been overused to the point of seeming worn out, stale, ineffective, or meaningless" )

I’d contacted William’s office this past Sunday, fully understanding that perhaps I may not get a callback until the next business day. My goodness, I was so shocked and thrilled to get a callback from William within just a couple of hours! Our friends were at the airport ready to fly home when they were taken away by TSA agents and we couldn’t understand why. William took down pertinent information and immediately got to work. I could tell he was working tirelessly to get answers because his communication skills were beyond amazing. I didn’t have to worry about not hearing from him at all. Sadly I must review my experience with this law firm. There appears to be MANY negative reviews with similar complaints regarding this firm, too many actually and date back over a decade. Check for yourself on Google, Yelp, BBB, Pissed Consumer and other sites. Hindsight, I should of used the clinic at the courthouse that offers assistance with legal matters. This has been the most devastating burden in our life and based on our experience and opinion it appears to point in the direction of recurring issues that resonates with other posted negative reviews.
I can offer some constructive consumer feedback to help protect the public before hiring an attorney. (FYI: The information below is available for public consumption)
*Check the State Bar Website. DONOT hesitate to use it to follow up with a bad experience.. It's the insurance to protect the public and defer misconduct and unethical behaviors. Its success hinges on the public's help.
*The State Bar Client Security Fund may be of assistance due to an attorneys dishonesty.
*Check the attorneys business information on the Secretary Of State website. This is a Tall Tale if you understand their procedures and codes.
*Attorney cases can be reviewed at the court house.
*Review your billing within 5 days and if you see any issues (such as: is the retainer fee depleted without any completed work) inquire in writing immediately! The billing practice should not be "creative and collaborative " immediately start to make notes on the bills and DOCUMENT DOCUMENT. Save all correspondence, invoices and statements. If threatened with severing of representation over billing questions: STOP DROP AND ROLL...
*READ the contract, it may seem ok on the face.... is it UNBALANCED to the unsuspecting?
*Maintain a call log.
*Note "complimentary services" then bill you ( court reminders which by the way are generated by the court for free).
*Free consultation, then bill you. Give your head a shake.
*DOCUMENT EVERYTHING.
*It's important for every consumer to help protect the public with hopes that law firms have significant insight to their oath and professional responsibility. If you suspect foul play due to indiscretions meet and confer with the District Attorneys Office.
One more thing: "we treat you like family" it's a cliche. ("A cliché is an expression, idea, or action that has been overused to the point of seeming worn out, stale, ineffective, or meaningless" )

I’d contacted William’s office this past Sunday, fully understanding that perhaps I may not get a callback until the next business day. My goodness, I was so shocked and thrilled to get a callback from William within just a couple of hours! Our friends were at the airport ready to fly home when they were taken away by TSA agents and we couldn’t understand why. William took down pertinent information and immediately got to work. I could tell he was working tirelessly to get answers because his communication skills were beyond amazing. I didn’t have to worry about not hearing from him at all. Not only did I feel like I entered another world when I first met Elyse Margolin - I did enter another world. This firm was radically different. Elyse was my 3rd attorney in a very complicated contentious divorce. She completely understood the issues immediately, had no problem grasping the twists and turns and contortions that had been going on. She was kind, warm and supportive, quick, smart, effective. She and her staff jumped in full steam and were personally invested, determined not to let any of the many balls drop.
That was 12 years ago. I am forever grateful to have her as my attorney. My friends are always in awe when they hear how much she has done for me. Recently I contacted her to help me with defaulted support payments. Again, she quickly responded and worked tirelessly to find a solution to a very complex and unusual set of issues.
As a client, I felt cared for, listened to, understood. I appreciated that she was very clear, straightforward and honest about what we had to deal with. My story is probably nothing new and will sound very familiar. Phil and I met and married in Dallas. I worked during our marriage and my husband was the primary source of income with consideration to our lifestyle. I also helped with his financial problems early in our relationship, before and after marriage. I had more in savings, a steady job, and an A rating credit report. After three years of marriage he wanted to move back to Los Angeles, where he was working in the entertainment field, and restart his career that collapsed due to a substance abuse problem. With reluctance, I quit job and career path and moved from Dallas to Los Angeles for my husband’s career, which increased his income substantially. My career however faltered in Los Angeles and I had to start over again in a different field and work my way up. After 12 years of marriage we divorced.
Two years after the divorce was final, my ex came back requesting to stop support claiming health issues was causing him to work less. I contacted my original attorney and he could not take the case due to his workload and traveling and he sent me several referrals. After contacting all of them I felt confident with Jennifer Skolnick. She returned my calls, was communicative of the process and gave me realistic expectations of possible outcomes. She didn’t sugar coat the realities of court proceedings which I appreciated.
Part of the legal process required financial disclosure on both parties, and this is what scared me most. I was diligent about saving my money for the future and I thought a judge would side with my ex-husband and say that I didn’t need his support any longer. With a fine-tooth comb, Jennifer reviewed my financials and my ex-husband’s and determined that there were no significant changes in either of our income’s and he did not work less or make less since his visits to his doctor. But still noted that a judge will make the final decision. She then reviewed his medical reports and tests and found a statement buried in the reports that Phil admitted that he did not believe that his health was affecting his work and was able to work full time-even though he claimed his health was the reason he was requesting to stop spousal support. I believe it was Ms. Skolnick’s diligence in reviewing years of financials and medical reports that helped our case for spousal support to continue. In writing my declarations and memos of opposition Jennifer wrote with a logical and concise flow, had facts to back up statements of Phil’s financial stability, my contribution to my marriage, giving up my career for his, and his ability to continue to work and that his health improved with medication. There was no comparison with Ms. Skolnick’s declarations and memos of opposition and my ex’s attorney’s. My documents were factual and well written whereas his attorney had no facts to back up any of their grievances.
Ms. Skolnick’s attention to detail was valuable. She asked several questions about my marriage, asking about subjects and details I never thought would make a difference in defending my case. Her questions made me think about what I did for my husband financially before and during our marriage, where he was in his life before we met and when we met, our lifestyle habits, his spending habits and mine, and the responsibility of taking care of our home. It was an emotional 5 months of gathering documents and remembering the beginning, middle, and ending of a relationship but Ms. Skolnick was able to help and keep me on track with her “to do lists” for me that helped me get through this process.
Ms. Skolnick is an exemplary attorney and I would strongly recommend her.
