Mr. Elliot was spectacular as my lawyer. He was competent, friendly and the voice of reason during my divorce. Tom was clear and concise in explaining the law to me, was always there when I called or needed him and he seemed to really care about my case. Tom talked me off the ledge a couple of times, and I really appreciated that. very thorough in breaking things down so that even a simpleton like me understood what was going on! I truly appreciate Tom's work and I thank him for his time and work. I would recommend Tom and the Joseph Law Group 8 days a week!

I had a firm prior to Mr. Elliot, who was inexperienced and not competent. On the other hand, Tom was easy to work with. He made the whole divorce process simple. As a male in NYS, he was able to secure an agreement in which I received money from my female spouse.

I was referred to Tom Elliot in 2015. I had just moved back home to NY from CA and was dealing with an alcoholichusband. Sadly, I realized it was time to consult with someone to help me navigate a separation and potential divorce. Tom was a blessing. In addition to being a very smart and capable attorney, he was caring, compassionate and patient. Separating and divorcing was a struggle to come to terms with, Tom was always patient and understanding of my feelings. James is a professional, who cares about his clients. Throughout my case, James was persistent and precise with each situation that came our way. However, he was always conscience of what was most important to me. I never had a question that was unanswered with detailed information. He was very clear of what the expectations were for my case and he was relentless in navigating my case in the directions that would be satisfactory to me. He established realistic goals for our outcome, however he never lost sight of what was important to me. He handled every situation with compassion and was sensitive to even to the most delicate issues. I learned of Mr. Kusnetz services after my divorces was finalized but I wish I had Mr. Kusnetz from day one. His firm has been tremendous in helping me with some of the things I didn’t original consider when my uncontested divorce was done by another firm. He has helped me with all of my post-divorce issues such as visitation with my son and my child support obligations. He is a true partner who has been there for me providing solid advice every step of the way. He has also provided me with advice on getting my house sold and brought in one of his many competent associates to further move things along. Phil Kusnetz is an attorney like no other. From the moment I calls his office, I knew this was the attorney for me. My case was dismissed years ago on the issue of grounds. I felt like there was no hope.
Phil explained no fault divorce and answered all questions. I was particular impressed with his confident attitude, and reassuring tone. A few months later, my case was settled and I received a significant distributed award. You will not find a better lawyer at any price.

This past August, Phillip Kusnetz represented me in a case that took place in Family Court. Although I cannot discuss the specific details of the case, Mr Kusnetz represented me in a professional, zealous manner. He was able to have the case withdrawn and settled the case in my favor.

Ok- consider this a ‘word of mouth’ recommendation: I received Ms. Aiello’s Name from another top-level attorney (who does not do family/divorce law)
- I stopped mediation immediately as she saved me thousands of dollars for knowing what’s realistic and respectful to the other “aide”
- she uses calm knowledge to counsel instead of emotional demands
- she was outstanding in negotiating the final agreement
- she knows the processes and systems well and doesn’t cut corners or some such silly things
- she is highly (!) respected by the judges from what I saw and heard about her
- remember when you engage and hire an attorney it’s a two way street: if you or the other side is not reasonable and reapectful - How can you expect a favorable outcome? Sounds like common sense but I have seen people trying to do a ‘“show of force -let alone ‘retribution’ “ - and everyone loses then.
- Ms. Aiello is super transparent, knowledgeable and her team is equally professional - never heard any excuses - like other offices I have witnessed.
Hope this helps a bit.

Where to even start... ive been taken advantage by other lawyers who took my profession as a pay day, past two lawyers did nothing but take money. 1yr of family court and they didnt file any paperwork they were hired for, i contactes Mr.edwards firm explained my situation best way i can.. Mr.Edwards understood my position, said and i qoute "we're getting your son back" this statement was made exactly 48days ago..since then Mr.edwards has eliminated Supervised visits leaned against me. Where i was subject to see my son 2hrs on Thursday and 2hrs on friday. Total travel time was 7hr to 8hrs. For those 2 days. I did that for almost a yr.
Mr.edwards understood the importance of my case and how much my son means to me.. how my son has been in foster house for almost a yr.. as i qouted Mr.edwards... he eliminated the supervised visits in his 1st court date, i get to spend the entire weekend and every weekend with my son, i even have the rights to drop my son to school... im so thankful for Mr.edwards expertise, Legit the Best Lawyer..
My case isnt over yet. But i know Full victory is in sight by may/june i will have full custody.
All the praying landed us to Mr.edwards.
Im legit happy. My son counts the days. Hrs when we can see each other.. soon that will be exact what what my son and i want.
I wasted $17,500 with other lawyers and almost a yr with no results.. Mr.edwards did so much in 48days. Best decision for the fight.

My divorce was not complicated. He said I'd likely even be getting money back from my retainer. We weren't fighting about anything. Instead, this got dragged out more than two years because Harlan couldn't be bothered to move on anything quickly. I got billed for phone calls and emails going over things we had ALREADY discussed that he forgot. This divorce cost me over $10k for his disinterest. I'm appalled- and broke. This is monstrously unfair to me.

Sylvia Goldschmidt is the worst! She bullied me into settling for worthless LLC’s. The divorce cost over $200,000 and she did no follow up after I settled. I had to hire another attorney who told me what a bad deal I made and that she did not do any forensic accounting. However she did have me hire a forensic accountant who did nothing for an additional $50,000. She would not make any appointments with the other attorney at her office, so she could charge by the hour for the drive to and from NYC. I can go on with so many stories as she dragged the divorce on for 3 years…

This lawyer fights for the woman only! It cost my friend @ $40,000 to get stuck paying his non-working ex-wife more than $2000/month. Now he's living paycheck to paycheck and the witch has no care in the world. Make sure you go in front of a judge who asks you if you're ok with your lawyer. This one avoids that 4 obvious reasons. This is not a lawyer you want to employ if you don't have a fortune to spend on fees - she charged me almost $30,000 during the worst year and a half of my life - I ended up with $78 a month in alimony and am actually having to pay "credits" to a scumbag who makes almost twice what I do...they lost my "discovery" documents, made innumerable mistakes in financial calculations and correspondence (they are a "cut and paste" operation - one statement had some other person's name in my records) - just overall awful results - I am now bound to an agreement that in no way favors me...she is washed up and all talk, no results. Don't make the mistake I did!

Always late, never speaks up for her own client, uses e-mail for everything, only calls for money, and that is constantly, very expensive for little to show if anything. Joan was always late to court. Did not show up twice, made me sit there for 2 hours and never called. I was on the phone with her office, who told me she was in the court house. I even texted her phone with no response. She billed me for things she did not do, or try to do. She also hired another attorney. I was her first divorce case, and was losing due to her giving in. I did fire the firm and went somewhere else whiched help me out. It seemed the only time the firm called was for payment. The bill got to almost $10,000 with no sight of getting divorced. Example of one case is I asked Joan for my Exs financial, she said it was not filed as of 11/10. My new attorney asked for it for my Exs financials from her lawyer and received it 10/10.

I hired him to collect from my ex, I thought he was experienced and would be effective. However, I realized he was not used to using computer and conducted most of his correspondence with phone. The worst part was he became friends with my ex's lawyer. Did not know what he did but my ex stopped paying even more two months after I hired him. He did not respond to my phone calls and emails after my ex stopped paying. I have to advance thousands of dollars.

At first i thought that i was doing the right thing by hiring him, but it was a mistake. It took him 3 months to actually submit my divorce papers. This was and uncontested cased with no children. He never returned my phone calls. I cant believe how long it took 1 year and 4 months. Oh yes. by the way he never sent the copies of my divorcce that he promised to send my ex wife. and when we tried calling him, it always goes to voice mail. but i already expected that. Not satisfied with service and outcome. Unprepared for court and never on time. Never returns phone calls. Almost two years in the system all he does is prolongs your case. I had to go behind his back and make appointment for mediation and that's how I settled my case. I was my own attorney. He's great at making the bill larger and that's the only thing he's good for. Does not fight for you at court just sits there and let the other attorney take charge. Never did the things he was suppose to do but charges for it. Even when you bring the bill to his attention gets angry and doesn't want to speak about it. If you get behind on payments he goes after you worse than a loan shark. Finally I had to terminate his services or shall I say lack of services. Horrible Attorney! Please do not retain.. Go to mediation. Saves so much money and time.....
