Wish I had used Anita when I first filed for divorce. She has now corrected the areas that were left open by a previous attorney that caused issues not setting clear, outlined specifics that put me back in court. She is like a surgeon knowing what needs to get cut and what needs to be modified all in good health.
Smart, kind, is clear about expectations and looking at long term priorities for the parent and the child. Anita helped me to forecast what we needed at the moment then 5yrs, 10yrs down the road.

Filing for divorce is a daunting and intimidating process, especially if it’s your first time. You just don’t know what to expect. I was incredibly grateful to meet Craig. He was referred to me through a colleague at a very challenging point in my life. Deciding to file personal bankruptcy is heartbreaking. But Craig showed great compassion and understanding for my situation.
He supported me every step of the way by explaining the process, and was very accommodating with his fees and payment structure. While I hope no one ever has to go through bankruptcy filing, but if that time ever comes, I have 100% trust and confidence in Craig’s expertise and professionalism. What I thought would be a relatively easy go with my now ex-wife turned into a protracted battle of everything. What should have been simple became contested. Thank goodness I decided to go with Emily Yu. She is the best.
If you need an attorney that is laser focused on your needs and desires and doesn't push you in the direction they want, Emily is for you. She is compassionate, articulate and is not afraid to go toe to toe with anyone. I loved how quickly she responded to my questions either in email or on the phone. I especially loved how I never felt like she was over billing me.
There is no other attorney I could recommend for a contested divorce. It's a guarantee that you spouse will not enjoy going up against her and opposing council will know they are in for a scrum. Emily is worth every one of your hard earned pennies.

I had a very complex divorce case that was a complete mess. All of the people I worked with were amazing! What can I say. When I 1st went up to the office Adam was there a long with his team. And they IMMEDIATELY made me feel like family. Having to go through probate and a court appointed administrator I had to deal with a lot of different lawyers. Nothing compares to the way Adam and his team were. I absolutely MUST take the time to express my deep gratitude for the amazing services that were rendered by Attorney Lennon and her incredible paralegal Hannah Garcia. I interviewed a few lawyers whose names I got from other professionals. I went with David because of his bedside manner and the fact he told me how to save money through the divorce process while I felt the other lawyers just viewed me as a money stream. He gave me great advise and was always very responsive (I mean the guy would respond to my emails late into the evening and on weekends which always helped with my anxiety). Balean and Kristy kept me sane during the hardest year of my life and I am forever grateful.
I was too nervous to reach out to a divorce lawyer even though it was well past time, so a friend of mine who is a lawyer in another area talked me into it and recommended these two personally. I can't say enough good things so I'll try and break it down into the things that are/were important to me in a divorce.
They are NOT pushy. I was so nervous the first call, I did not want to get a divorce. I even (politely) told them I hope we don't ever need to talk again. They were extremely supportive. Not one single time did either of them push me towards a divorce. They answered all my questions honestly and thoughtfully and I never felt rushed.
On the flip side of that, they are also very cognizant that their time is expensive. So for me, it is very hard to find a lawyer who is constantly aware of running up your tab, but personable enough to trust them and not feel like just another check in the spreadsheet. On top of that, I have ADHD so I can get off on a tangent with the best of them. Both Kristy and Balean we're very good at redirecting me into the areas that mattered and pushing me though the areas that didn't without letting me get hung up on them.
They are extremely prompt (during business hours, I cant speak to otherwise because I don't expect people to work 24/7), I don't think I ever waited a full day for a reply. You WILL feel like a priority. Which frankly with how being a lawyer works, is pretty remarkable.
They know their stuff. I don't know a better way to put that. And if they don't know, they make it a priority to find out. I had a few odd snafus with property issues and a few (lets say less than reasonable) demands from my now ex, and if I had a question they tracked it down if they weren't already sure.
They are generally fun and calming presences. Mediation went for a full day, so Balean was trapped in a room with me for probably 12 straight hours. And if you aren't aware (i certainly wasn't), mediation is very much hurry up and wait. When we had the mediator, it was 100% business. When she was in the other room, we walked through everything we needed to discuss, got advice, and then were able to relax and recharge a bit before the next turn. As you can imagine, its an emotional time. I went from needing to pace the hallways angry to bouncing off the walls bored to everything in between and not once did Balean get even slightly irritated with me. They are VERY aware that you're going though something and that while we need to be efficient there also needs to be room for you to be a person with feelings and needs.
So if you don't read all of that, the important bits are they are going to make you a priority and you'll feel like it, they will not run up your bill for no reason and will be honest when they think something may do so, they give you grace to be going though something hard, while also getting you though it in a prompt and efficient and competent manner. I absolutely would not even consider another legal team if these guys are available. I can't speak highly enough of this firm.
