Anderson, Boback, & Marshall were great. Jessica Sindel and Jessica Marshall had the patience of saints when dealing with me through such a tough process. It felt like we shared a common goal and reached the expectation that I had in spite of the other side making some very wild claims... I was able to overcome all of that with their help and at no point did I feel like they were billing me unnecessarily nor refusing to take steps to make meaningful progress like other firms I had to deal with.

I can’t express how grateful I am to Keating Law. Stay clear of her! Will take your money and run! We gave her 6000.00 up front (which she demanded) and she done absolutely nothing in 3 mos time. We had to fire her and end up paying another $10,000 to another attorney to get something done. She claimed she would refund part of it back to us; never did see it of course! Another lie!!! Her staff are puppets and lie for her as well. She shouldn’t be allowed to practice!!

I found Peggy after googling and reading about 100+ reviews. She was very helpful in making everything very straightforward and simple. Many times I wanted to put super specific language in there to address potential fears of mine but 99% of the time, they were items that weren't enforceable, were already covered by law, or were things she encouraged I keep a more open mind about. She spends a ton of time in the courtroom, is familiar with all the Cook County judges, and has decades of experience so I appreciated how black and white she made things. Peggy is very direct and concise. In our initial interview, she cut me off a time or two because I was apparently talking more than listening. At first, I was turned off by it (even though it was true lol) but I immediately saw it as an advantage with opposing counsel and I was 100% correct about that. If you're a person who likes control or is long-winded and isn't used to constructive feedback, consider this an opportunity to work on that because I actually quickly grew out of the experience. She has only 100% of your best interest at heart and I could tell that during the interview.
She was also very personable, and I really appreciated how well she could relate to my situation. We had several really good discussions not only as attorney/client but also as single parents; she's further ahead in this process than me and really opened my eyes in a few areas (*cough* giving them mobile phones when they get older *cough*).
As a techie, I was looking for more digital redlining, PDF editing etc but we did most everything via email modifications. It ended up being ok and made it super easy for me to search for emails with any changes that were made. She's always available via text but please don't misuse that or else she'd never have time to get things done; she (or her paralegal) is super responsive via email as well.
Cost-wise, pay the flat fee upfront and you will save $10K minimum easily and my situation was pretty straightforward and easy in comparison to most people.
I had a great experience and outcome in my divorce proceedings and would recommend Peggy to handle things.

I retained Ms. Fetman for my divorce. It's difficult to know where to turn when you're faced with a divorce. Few of us have any prior experience with the legal ins and outs. I chose her due to her strong track record. Talk about a force of nature! She was extremely professional. She was honest and told me things I did not want to hear. I feel a good attorney gives clients bad news. In divorce cases there is always a good deal of bad news to be given. Ms. Fetman and I got along very well. She was always courteous and throughout my case I was able to trust her. She was realistic, stayed focus on the goal, explained the divorce process, met procedural timelines, always prepared and we had consistent communication. The most important step for me was finding a good divorce attorney that I trusted and liked. POA inquires beware:
Business has a nice and friendly feel. I wish they could have helped me, but instead they made me feel uncomfortable. I take care of someone who wished to make me their power of attorney. I mentioned that he was forgetful and they spoke to him alone. He said he couldn’t remember exactly what was said but that they couldn’t help us. He said they would not explain why. They didn’t bother talking to me at all. I am a good listener and would have probably understood, but I believe I was misjudged. Because I was given no explanation, I just felt bad and uncomfortable. Like I was doing something wrong, when I am only trying to get a family friend the help he needs. It was a waste of our time, and would have been a waste of money too if we had went through with it. $400 dollars to be exact. We have found a different local law office that would only be charging $150 for this service.

Natalie Bower is and was a breath of fresh air for my case. I had three other attorneys before Natalie but she didn’t judge me she didn’t fill my head on what I wanted to hear she told me the LAW !! Morgan and her team handled my divorce case. Everyone was professional, compassionate and extremely knowledgeable. Joanna was attorney who never followed up 98 percent of time by calling me back or in timely matter. Could hardly ever sit down with her had appt twice cancel . Lost all my information first visit. She kep a affidavit and a spouse relief tax form that was filled out and supposed to be given to my ex to be's lawyer and never did she sat on it for over three months Until I fired her. She has never gave me a bill or a statement of services for the whole eight months Honestly never kept records of time she spent as I had her as an attorney If she did I would reveive a stmt and a refund. When I fired her she told me she would give it to me in two weeks and never did and had to report her to the bar association. She communicated My case with outside people which she has no bussiness to or without my permission. She was not truthful. The way she talk to me was horrible . She change court houses without my permission my feeling to make more money. She didnt care what I felt or what I had to say, All i have to say she did hardly nothing for my case but made things worse.

I hired him for my divorce. He did virtually nothing to represent me and charged me almost $9K. I negotiated my own deal with my husband, otherwise I could have expected the bare minimum. He would have charged me 15k to do full discovery. My ex is a very high earner and yet I ended up paying my legal fees. Well, of course Roland knows my ex's attorney very well for many many years. What's worse is that Roland treated me in an absolutely degrading, condescending manner. He came as a recommendation and I so regret taking this person's recommendation. I have never in my life been treated so poorly by someone I hired for any type of service. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!!

Roland was the attorney for my 2.5 year review of my divorce decree.
My first attorney knew divorce law well, however was not very good with unusual circumstances and understanding financials.
Roland was an excellent listener and took the time to understand and empathize with what was important to me in outcomes. He not only understood the law, but could see the areas where we could negotiate with my ex and her lawyer. He confidently told me what we had control over and what we could influence. He was very good at educating me on the law and preparing me to have realistic expectations for outcomes. In the end, Roland negotiated a deal for me through a very difficult ex and created a financial solution that everyone was willing to accept. The solution was better than what I had expected and still met the needs of my ex.
I couldn't recommend Roland any more highly.

I came to Roland in high stress Order of Protection situation. I already had the OOP in place but the other party was attempting to have it modified. Roland explained everything from the beginning and never made any promises he couldn’t keep. The counsel I received with Roland was so worth the money and I would hire him over and over again if I needed to. He knows the laws and knows how to explain those laws to help everything make sense. His counsel was so outstanding the other party ended up backing down before the judge. I am so grateful I found Roland and would definitely recommend him to anyone needing an attorney.

I just spoke with a women receptionist who said she does intake.
She kept cutting me off from the beginning and saying things twice in a row.
She then said I need to contsct a lawyer in my home state to handle the case.
I asked her is her firm csn practice and file suits on other states and she said thst thet can and to tell her more about the case....
At that point I hung up because she didnt seem stable nor competent at all.

She is very responsive which is very rare with most attorneys. So, she created a Power of Attorney for me which is very specific and was time sensitive. Steve was hired onto my case a couple of months after my initial involvement in the child welfare system... my only regret was waiting the month or two to bring him on to my case. Although he was hired to represent me, he worked hand-in-hand with my husband's legal counsel; never losing sight of the ultimate goal of family reunification. Our case was messy, but Steve guided us every step of the way. Would never consider using anybody else in the juvenile/ family system. He's an absolute gem!
