A coworker that knew I needed a divorce attorney recommended Jan in 2007. I'm Asian and at the time spoke limited English. She patiently listened to my story and assured me that she could help. I suggested having a translator for the court room but Jan told me that she understood me well and that together we would present the case. She turned an impossible situation into a very good settlement for me and my children.
Since then I think of Jan as a friend I can reach out to for any legal needs including my will, healthcare and durable powers of attorney.
Most recently she helped my son with his own child custody settlement.

My employer and I had some conflicts and I needed to hire an attorney to represent me. I was very nervous during that time.
For my knowledge, some attorneys are great to help you solve the problems, but others may create more issues than you think. I did not know which lawyer would be suitable for me.
I looked at online reviews and called ten attorneys. Finally, I found the best one, Att. Phoden.
When I talked to him for the first time. He listened very carefully to the case and gave me excellent suggestions. At that moment, I felt very confident about the case. This attorney should consider gaining more experience in a law firm before transitioning to his own practice. My experience with him was bad, very bad. Let me break down my experience with this man:
- During our Zoom call, he didn’t even show his face.
- Be cautious with this guy. He spent an hour going over scenarios with me on what to say to the district, only for me to find out that the district wouldn’t talk to me now that I had an attorney. It felt like he was just racking up a bill.
- The district had me reporting in three times a day at the admin building just to sign in. When I shared my frustration with Andrew, his response was, "You gotta be happy with that; you still have a job." Given the circumstances, his remark was dismissive and trivializing.
- I repeatedly asked for an itemized bill and never received one, despite following up via email and phone. I have receipts to prove this.
- Then, out of nowhere, he called and told me my balance, asking if I could pay immediately even though the case was far from over.
- His communication was abysmal.
- I ended up having to hire another attorney for legal advice, because Andrew didn't know what he was doing. She provided me with a set of procedures and laws to tell Andrew how to handle the case. You might wonder why I didn’t just switch attorneys—it's because I had already paid Andrew a $2,000 deposit.
- I emailed Andrew to inform him I would not be reporting for two days due to my mental health. Please relay the message. He failed to do so.
- When I went to check in, the HR Director told me he was going to request that I be fired and that my license be revoked.
- I remained calm and reiterated everything the other attorney had advised me. She said they couldn't fire me because it would create more problems for them. She advised me to tell them that I would resign once they complied with my demands. I did just that, and it worked.
In summary, my experience with Andrew was a nightmare. He failed to communicate, didn't know how to handle my case, and left me in a worse position than before.

I had a great experience with Roland Barbosa representing me in my divorce. It's never a pleasant experience to go through the legal process of divorce, but Roland made it simple and straightforward and provided numerous updates (and answers to my several questions) as I waited for the (long and slow) Dallas County courts to sign the paperwork that had been sitting on their docket for over 2 weeks. An uncontested, amicable divorce should be easy, and despite the draconian Texas laws, Roland helped make the process as easy as it could be. When the divorce decree was finally signed, he gave me an update even before the electronic system registered a change in the case. After doing coparenting class and social study we were able to ensure my child’s stability and safety living with me primarily in ensuring that he was not anywhere near the violence that was taking place at the other household . When my ex and her new paramour found out I'd retained Brad Nace, they went from representing themselves to retaining a high-profile family attorney firm (whom I don't wish to further embarrass by naming here). I knew Brad had a great reputation as top-flight attorney, as I've known knew him socially for years. (My ex knew too, btw.) What I did not, and could not yet truly appreciate was what an incredible strategist, nor how unbelievably attentive to detail he is. As badly as I wanted to win my case... I dare say Brad wanted it MORE THAN I DID. Yes, of course we won... but it gets better...
When we finally had our hearing... it felt like a Hollywood director said "Action" and then it was Brad's turn to make an opening statement... hard to describe succinctly but suffice to say, he was on another level than opposing counsel. He absolutely owned the stage er court room and commanded everyone's attention and respect.

He was the first to tell me that my wife was trying to defraud me as she filed for divorce. She was also severely abusing my child at the time too which restricted my ability to understand just how criminal she had become. He also told me that the court doesn't care about child abuse which at first struck me as insensitive. At a certain point during litigation I realized that my ex was guilty of multiple crimes. He was correct about my ex's intentions to not only abuse my child (trying to make me crazy) but also to defraud me / the whole estate. My ex made it away with millions, trusts, businesses, has almost had me killed a few times due to conspiracy crimes, and I haven't been with my daughter (who believes me to be dead) since she was kidnapped for a court sponsored ransom against civil law and federal vra laws in 2017. The maternally abused victim child is now severely damaged, suffering, and cannot speak properly (often times stuttering / stammering) and does not have a steady focus according to insiders due to the ongoing maternal child abuse. Thanks for the heads up about my criminal ex and the court not caring about child abuse! The 255th court does NOT care for their standing orders, maternal child abuse, perjury, fraud, or rico crimes alike. They have been reported to the DOJ about their constructive crimes. Mr. Brad Nace is an honest lawyer who is very intuitive. Honesty is very hard to find in the legal field. 100% excellent lawyer!!!! Have a great one!!!!!

Brook was an amazing consultant in our legal matters regarding a minor in our household. She fought fairly but stood by us and up for us during the entire process. There are few attorneys who would jump in their car and drive 3 hours because they have to file in a court and want to make sure it gets hand delivered and signed. There are even fewer who would make the drive multiple more times for the sake of getting the matter handled quickly and efficiently. This is truly the best lawyer anyone could ever get. My ex had already filed papers and It was Friday when I met and retained Steve. I had court the following Thursday. I was very skeptical as many are when getting a attorney. Steve worked quick and fast. He filed things promptly and quick. I would recommend him to anyone that I know. I am impatient and probably wasn't the easiest client to deal with. Steve was their every step of the way. He explained exactly what was going on every time something would happend and exactly what to do. If you listen and follow what he says then it will go in your favor as it did mine. My custody situation was exhausting and lasted almost 2 years. I got in the end exactly what I wanted. His prices were very reasonable as well. He has been a lawyer forever and has seen it all as he did in my case. My experience with attorneys has not always been good. In going through my divorce I had to fire my first attorney because she failed to meet deadlines and didn't have the acuity to grasp the intricacies of my case. My case was complex, involved the control of a business and we were facing unscrupulous opposition who had no problem perjuring themselves multiple times.
Once I hired Ben things changed. Billing was honest and reasonable. Ben handled himself well in multiple hearings against a barrage of misinformation.
I wish Ben had been the first attorney I hired. It would have saved me a lot of money. Ben was able to grasp the right legal argument at the right time in order show the judge the information and the precedents that would guide his decisions.
My divorce is now final. I kept control of the business and reached an acceptable settlement. The settlement became possible only because opposing counsel was not successful in selling their position to the judge.
Opposing counsel told my X to settle because she wasn't going to trial. It was a long drawn out process because what opposing counsel was asking for was not reasonable and they were distorting the facts.
Part of opposing counsels strategy was to cause me so much financial pain I would pay anything to stop the bleeding. It was only through Ben's competence and integrity that I was able to survive the process.
I give Ben my highest recommendation that is backed up with the war stories to prove his legal skills.

Wade Casey is fantastic! Got to know Wade several years ago after working with his partner on my divorce. Wade is an honest Christian man who treated me more like a friend than a client. He took time to answer my questions and explain the law in layman’s terms so that I understood each step of the way.
The first time I worked with Wade was when I was in the middle of a very unpleasant and stressful situation with a contractor. Wade resolved the matter very quickly with a letter and a phone call. Since it was non-litigious, he charged me a very reasonable set legal fee.
Over the years I have sought his counsel/services on a variety of issues. Each and every time he has been extremely helpful and has offered wise counsel. He is sensitive to the cost/benefit of his work. He would tell me up front if a subject did not fall under his expertise and would recommend an attorney he felt could better handle it. He would also tell me if legal action was not worth my time and expense.
Something else that I really appreciate about him is that he makes having an advocate affordable. No job is too small. He is diligent and detailed, a belt and suspenders lawyer who will make sure that all the I’s are dotted and the T’s are crossed. Personally, I can’t imagine using anyone other than Wade.
