HIRE JULIE CAPUTO with Port Gardner Law Group!!
October 2024 - I was fortunate enough to be referred to Julie by another attorney a year ago. She was the 3rd attorney I had met with and she was able to see me on very short notice within 48 hours. Immediately, she put me at ease. After our initial visit, I already felt a huge weight had lifted. I was very glad that I had not already retained an attorney at that point. Right away, I felt Julie was "the right one". She was sincere, compassionate, caring, and I could tell she was smart. She immediately took control and told me what I needed to do in order to assist with the case. I hired her right then and left the meeting feeling as if I was in capable hands - and rightly so. On very short notice, Julie and her team were able to frame and present my case which secured a positive outcome at the temporary orders hearing-- for me to be awarded primary custodian of my children and to be able to temporarily remain in the family home. For the past year, Julie has worked diligently through numerous obstacles and challenges from the opposing party while maintaining a high level of courtesy and professionalism to all parties throughout the process. I am very pleased with the outcome and so glad that I chose to trust Julie during this process. Some attorneys are "sharks", or overly aggressive. I wrote to Lorna at the end of my 2.5-year custody battle - "Words are inadequate to express my gratefulness", and it's true. Lorna has been on my side for that long, not only as my counsel, but to me, also a friend, and a mentor.
I remember talking to a dozen attorneys who all turned down my case because of its complexity - a divorce that invovled domestic violence, dependency, immigration, and relocation - yet Lorna was the only attorney that took genuine interest in my case, and she did not even charge me for our first 2-hour consultation. She actually read through over 3000 pages of my dependency case. She always responds promptly, sometimes even after office hours, she is thorough and detailed, insightful and empathic. She remained a delightful spirit despite my ex's constant threats, harassment, and accusation directed at her.
Even though I could not continue to afford her representation toward the end of my case, and chose to represent myself in a 3-day trial, she guided me through every step to make sure I was prepared and capable. And I won, even with some extra icing on the cake I did not expect. The judge said he has not seen anyone go pro-se without an attorney and could carry out the whole trial like I did in his 14 years of experience, but I credited Lorna for her guidance. I couldn't have done it without her. She encouraged me and believed in me even when I doubted myself - unlike those lawyers on Avvo who always tell you that you are screwed if you're going to trial alone. I hired Mr Weinzierl for help with long term payment issues and child support for my son about to go to college. I am nearly 10 years post divorce with an abuser who will not stop for nothing. Rob is really calming when the ex triggers the PTSD. He knows things are upsetting but he guides with what feels like a bit of love and logic. If you have ever dealt with a truly pathological person you know how crazy they can make a legal case. There is almost nobody who understands the abuse dynamics in family law. I am proclaiming this loudly- Rob Gets It!! My case isn’t done yet but I am so happy Rob has not given up fighting for what’s right. I can’t recommend him highly enough!!

Unfortunately, I've had to use Renee Lee far too many times. First, for my divorce from 2012-2014 and many instances since. She is reliable, determined, and committed. She has done a fabulous job every time that I've had to use her. She almost got me 50/50 custody of my son. I have him 12 days out of 30, and all holidays and school breaks are 50/50. I highly recommend her.

I contacted Jack to ask for help with my Support Modification. After talking through the details and asks of the petition, Jack laid out the process in front of me to make sure I was prepared for all outcomes. The entire team quickly jumped on some immediate needs and scheduling to make sure I had the right support to put my best case in front of the judge. We had several hurdles to deal with as well as an impending trial date, but I felt like the entire team rallied around me to get me prepared. Josh and I worked together over several sessions to create a fair strategy and proactively address the key issues. In what was supposed to be my trial date, Josh quickly jumped on an issue that perhaps the judge had not reviewed key submissions and requested a continuance to make sure everything was considered. That instinct proved to be correct as the judge had not reviewed everything and while that pushed a decision out, it was the right move. I would use Jack, Josh and the entire Berner team in the future.

My family came to Jack's Law office with quite a burden on our shoulders and a lot of confusion on how best to move forward. Being forced into an unwanted divorce situation, I asked our business attorney's for the best recommendation they could give me (Lasher Firm in Seattle) and it was Mr. James Shipman. I can't say enough on how excellent Mr. Shipman has been as well as his staff in handling me as well as the divorce situation. He has been kind and understanding as well as very thorough. The cost(s) involved was far better than I expected. He was very fair to both my ex wife and myself during the mediation process and gave me excellent advice through out. I can not recommend this gentleman enough as I will recommend him to any one that needs help as such. He gives attorney's a GREAT name!

James handled our custody mediation case. From the start he was straightforward with us about the probable outcome. He laid out the risks but also what the likely hood of gaining out desired parenting plan was in modification. His expertise in this field is hard to come by, and being able to trust what advice he was giving gave us piece of mind of a very uncertain time. This is actually a tough review to write because truly I have appreciated so many things about Emily and her team. Some things that come to mind are that she would always encourage me kindly and professionally not to waste my time, effort, and money on a battle that I would not win. That being said, when there arose a time that she knew there was something I was passionate about she was always ready to go to bat for me. Another thing I loved about her was her and her office teams attention to detail, my documents always ended up looking very professional and free of typos and although I am a strong writer, Emily is also a strong writer which really helped get the story that needed to be told out there. Emily is truly a unique individual; she is personable and friendly and honest and kind; qualities that can be tough to find in an attorney. I suggest that you learn to trust her implicitly as getting through family litigation issues is stressful enough as it is. Emily Hahn has represented me in two cases, one of which we are still involved in. First, she helped me get a protection order. This was one of the most difficult times in my life. I hired Emily from day one she worked on my dissolution case and my dvpo case she is a true hard working and dedicated professional. She has amazing critical thinking skills and is always ahead of the game. She is fiscally honest when billing, honest in her advice and truly very organized. Deeply unprofessional and discriminatory conduct from Theresa Lorella and this firm. Unethical law firm that refuses to provide an itemized receipt. Ms Lorella sold herself as being capable of the most difficult divorce settlements but after 3 months and tens of thousands of dollars later she was incapable of doing even the bare minimum such as get my non marital personal property back. Ms Lorella also engages in bigoted behavior and when her firm disciplined her for the matter she quit the next day in retaliation. If you are a member of any marginalized community you do not want to hire this law firm.
I also believe there was a fraudulent use of funds and Ms Lorella’s relationship with opposing counsel was a serious issue. I do not believe she operated in good faith. Must be nice to collect a six figure paycheck off of the dissolution of families.

Representation was pathetic at best. Ken is very hard to communicate with as he doesn't give you the total answer till after the fact. Does not listen very well to his client, nor did he believe in his client/me. Accounting practices leave very much to be desired, missed numerous entries/expenses and the math was horrible. Has a negative attitude about the Judges and failed to counter the Mediator on numerous questionable decisions. Nice guy, just not a fighter.

Deeply unprofessional and discriminatory conduct from Theresa Lorella and this firm. Unethical law firm that refuses to provide an itemized receipt. Ms Lorella sold herself as being capable of the most difficult divorce settlements but after 3 months and tens of thousands of dollars later she was incapable of doing even the bare minimum such as get my non marital personal property back. Ms Lorella also engages in bigoted behavior and when her firm disciplined her for the matter she quit the next day in retaliation. If you are a member of any marginalized community you do not want to hire this law firm.

I hired this attorney while facing extreme crisis in my divorce. She seemed competent on our consultation. After I paid retainer fee she became confrontational, was avoiding me and dismissing important information for my case. Never called me to prepare for our contempt motion. People, Remember that this is a free service. The handfull of hard working humans here aren't overpaid, cutthroat, ambulance chasers. FIRST- Get your ducks in a row & get your issue narrowed down to Problem, Dates, times, ppl you've spoje to. Then 2nd-Call the number given you and leave your info. 3rd- If your issue is really big and has time restraints, perhaps you should look into someplace where you pay on a sliding income scale. The employee that answers the VOICE MSGS is Friendly, kind, empathetic and reap ppl (But not an attorney nor able to give legal advice.) They also see ppl at the Snohomish County Courthouse in Everett on Tues-Thurs between the hours of 9am-2pm(?) It's on their OGMsg. NO APPTS ITS ON A FIRST COME FIRST SERVED BASIS. Be prepared to be searched by security upon entering into the area you'll be going to, too. Pay a couple dollars to park in their underground parking. The state should really help them out by perhaps getting them some more employees. It's like they never heard of the Pandemic! OK. STAY OUTTA TROUBLE, DON'T BREAK THE LAW and you won't need to deal with it 😁
