David is very knowledgeable and nice. We had a customer who had conflicts with the available closing dates, and the only date that they are free to sign the closing document was on a Saturday. I felt very rude to try to ask David if he could accommodate, because I am afraid none of the escrow officer would like to work on their weekend, but David did. He is actually the one who values the customer service like me and will be willing to do everything to close the deal and make the deal done. My customers also gave me feedbacks that he was very nice and gave clear instructions to them for them to prepare for a smooth, easy, and punctual closing. Highly recommend!

Ms. Cusic was a pleasure to speak to from the onset when I was going through the initial vetting process for a divorce attorney. Though my attorney was Ms. Horton, who is part of Ms. Cusic's firm, it was Ms. Cusic's demeanor and open and honest initial consult that left me with the choice to ultimately decide to choose her firm over the dozen or so others I vetted. I contacted Dessiray for legal advise regarding a child support modification. I asked questions using different scenarios and she was helpful with answering them all. She explained everything in a way that I understood and didn't rush through her responses. This firm is a powerhouse! The talent here doesn't only include the attorney's, but also the paralegals, legal assistants, and even the office staff. This is an eclectic group of well experienced professionals that will know how to represent you at trial, if your case goes that far. There isn't an angle they won't think about to get you the results you are looking for.
I had the pleasure of being represented by Walter Schouten. Ironically, he was referred to me by an attorney that I consulted with. I was told to call Walter because he is very knowledgeable and he's an outstanding trial lawyer. Walter took on my case and he was assisted by an amazing paralegal in Vanessa Enciso. This dynamic duo believed that they could help my situation in securing me a new trial for a custody case. They went to work immediately. This was 2 weeks after I lost at trial while being represented by a different firm.
Long story long...Walter was able to get me a new trial, and he was able to get the judge to change her previous ruling. I am now the custodial parent of my 7 year old son.
I have to admit that even if I wasn't awarded custodial rights, I was more than satisfied with the representation and would have been able to live with the ruling a lot easier. Knowing that I was being properly represented was huge for me. Especially since the previous firm I hired for this case was absolutely terrible.
Thank you Walter, Vanessa, and Team Toombs Imel for everything. Y'all have raised the bar to the clouds for other firms. Thank you for the open communication, trustworthiness, and good vibes.

This review is a long time coming. I've worked with and relied on Shannon on three separate occasions over custody disputes of my eldest daughter. On all three occasions she was able to improve my situation and on two of those occasions where my situation was improved, I was on defense where I was the one that got served papers.
I believe that Shannon's prowess as an attorney actually comes from her compassion for her clients. She really does take the time to listen to and understand the unique situations that each case brings and understand and empathize with the situation. She gives her best because she knows what is on the line. She cares for her clients because she takes the time to understand them and their situation.
I owe Shannon a debt that I can never repay, because I owe her my relationship with my daughter.

We had our child via surrogate; however, during the height of covid the number of guests in the hospital was limited. Our gestational carrier agreement was in another state and our child was birth in TX. The hospital couldn't do anything to help us and the birth mother was listed as the mother on the birth certificate. To have this change to my name was a challenge. Shannon fought tooth and nail with the judge. She didn't give up on us. She listened and even asked her colleagues for best approach. She looked for all solutions till we won. I would 100% recommend her firm with no questions asked.

Interestingly enough I met atty Daniel Grey on an off chance. He was at mediation that I was not a party to, and I was in the building for other reasons. As we crossed paths and began speaking he gave me his business card and said something to the effect of “you never know when you may need my services”. As I walked away I thought ‘how did he know’. Long story short within 6months I needed his services. That was about 13 years ago. He not only was a great attorney but he advocated for all sides which is not like many family law attorneys. He helped me see things from my child’s perspective and my spouse at the time. In doing so it made the divorcing with children much more smoother for all parties involved. Over the years I have referred over a dozen of friends & colleagues to him during their time of need and he has always shown great detail and concern to them in the same manner he showed to me. I am only writing this review now because I recently referred someone to him. Though he could not represent the guy due to the county he lived in he still took the time to call him after work hours and be a calming voice and help him him understand the process, ease his mind and refer him to two other lawyers that specialized in that county. I am blown away by this. No charge and he gained nothing other than respect and this review. So many other lawyers won’t even talk to paying clients during the day and a night call is not a thing. So for Daniel to do this was going beyond the pale. I am so thankful for our chance encounter all of those years ago and all the help he has provided to me and to all that have been referred. I was referered to Ms.Rowland by a another attorney who felt that she was a better fit for my case. My case started out as a CPS case with a protection order later added. Ms.Rowland on our 1st court date won and my custody order remained unchanged. Then instead of having to attend court the next day over a protective order she was able to get that withdrew and held mediation instead which resulted only in minimal changes. Ms.Rowland was always very upfront with me and always gave me the choices of very best outcome or the worst outcome. She was always a phone call away no matter the day or time. As a mother also she would sit and let me cry and just listen she truly understands and is truly all in with her clients. Her fees are reasonable and she explains that fully in your consultation. John Grubb is that rare mixture of honesty, intelligence, integrity and wisdom. In working with John I knew that he would do everything he could to get the best possible outcome for my children's future, and for me after being a stay-at-home Mom for many years. I have 3 children and one of them is special needs. John procured for us a judgement that will allow me to continue to be available to take care of all my children well beyond the typical alimony allowance and one that will provide lifetime support for my special needs child. My partner and had our children ripped from us without warning. It was a complicated and not a common case for any attorney - especially in a conservative state and city like Houston, TX. I have had Kay as my family law attorney since 2009 and she has been the most amazing advocate and supporter. As a father I was under the mistaken belief that my rights as a father were subservient to my ex-wife's rights as a mother. Kay completely transformed my opinion with exceptional legal knowledge and explanations. Whether in emails, phone calls, or in-person meetings, she is always providing me with the best legal knowledge.
Two recent cases come to mind. My divorce decree (which I hadn't had a lawyer review!) gave me less-than what I was legally entitled under Texas Law. Kay helped me pursue a modification to grant me Expanded Standard Possession. Based on being a great father she said I would have absolutely no difficulties winning this. She attempted to negotiate directly with my ex-wife's attorney, but unfortunately my ex-wife's attorney was more interested in padding the bill and delayed and delayed and wouldn't respond to emails or calls from Kay. She also attempted trickery to keep the case from moving forward. We just met roadblock after roadblock with my ex's lawyer. Finally we get a court day and her lawyer attempts to get the case dismissed on a technicality, even though Kay was certain we'd had an agreement. The judge was pissed with her attorney and denied the motion, but time had run out on our slot so he sent us to mediation. 1.5 years after it all began we got to mediation and the mediator (a former judge in the very court we'd been in earlier) told my ex-wife point-bland "If this goes to court, your husband is going to get everything he's asking for, so you'd be best advised to settle this here." Which was exactly what Kay had told me 1.5 years before (and I had told my ex 1.5 years before). If my ex's lawyer had been like Kay, it would have been resolved in 20 minutes.
The second case was when my son turned 12 and decided he wanted to live with me. Again Kay gave me great advice, even way back when he asked when he was 11 and Kay said, "Nothing we can do now, wait until he's 12. Call me in a year and we can start." How awesome is that?? A shady lawyer would have found some excuse to start billing me, but Kay is not like that. Now that my son is 12 Kay's work has been stellar. I am so happy with her work and support. She is very cost conscious and always looks for ways to keep the bill to a minimum. Added to that, her billable rate is relatively low. For the quality of the service, her billable rate is an absolute steal!! She explained to me exactly how the court looks at situations like this and how they would likely rule (in our favor!) based on our circumstances. I know if the circumstances weren't in our favor she'd say, "Save your money, you can't win this one."
She is an exceptional family lawyer; kind, knowledgeable and responsive. I highly recommend her.

This is my second time using this law office . The first time was to end my marriage and Handle a child custody matter . This second time is to modify the original order . All the staff make you feel welcomed . Everyone in the office is always willing to answer questions . This law firm will also look at the big picture and shoot you straight on your expectations . If you have an end goal in mind they will tell you the honest answer due to their experience if you will get it . I love the ladies in the office and recommend them to anyone looking for great female attorneys . The retainer they charge is slightly high but for what they can do it is worth it.
