Kyle gave me solace when no one else could. He was professional and understanding, even when I felt unhinged by the stress of a divorce and the unknown. My divorce was lasted over a year and a half, was very contentious and Eric stuck with me every step of the way. My ex had two attorneys during the process and we also had a guardian ad litem involved and Eric’s communication between all of the other parties and myself was very professional. Eric really took the time to listen to my story from the initial consultation onward. He is very compassionate, kind, and honest. He told me what the most likely outcomes would be all along the way in my custody case. My case ended up going to trial over property division and Eric was very prepared and prepared me very well for the questioning in court. We essentially won every argument made at trial. I could not have asked for a better outcome. I highly recommend Eric Morrison as an attorney to anyone going through such a difficult life transition as divorce.

I give Mr. McDowell a 10 star rating. 5 is not anywhere near enough stars. He is professional and I have hired him twice now for custody issues against the same father. I have walked into court confident every single time with Mr. McDowell and he ALWAYS wins my case. You cant believe all ratings that you see posted here. Mr Ray Neighbors, for instance, he is a troll. No offense to him, but do your research. He seems to really hit hard on the legal system and judges. I saw his rating and it infuriated me. Mr. McDowell is by far the best attorney around!!

When I made the determination to retain a lawyer for my divorce, I paid the money for three separate consultations to ensure I would get the best legal representation possible. Save yourself the money and hire Paula from the beginning. When I read the very first letter from Paula to the opposing counsel, I knew immediately that I made the right decision. Between that one single letter and the threat of the exhibits Paula intended to use, the opposing counsel agreed to settle the case without going to trial. I was even surprised to receive money back. Paula did a fantastic job.

Paula instantly made me feel safe and taken care of when I became her client. She and Julie are highly organized and knowledgeable about my case. Paula was prepared for anything the opposing side threw at us, reacted professionally and timely, and remained in complete control of the case. Hiring an attorney who is going to play, what I would say is the most important part in protecting your parental rights and the best interest of your children can be a huge challenge. To make a long story shorter, I had met with three other attorneys and initially hired a firm who had a great marketing campaign and a good pitch man on site, I spent over $1800.00 and all that I got in return was aggravated, before I parted ways with them.
I spent a lot of time on line looking at reviews and reading bio's and talking to a few attorneys over the phone. I can't say exactly what it was that made me decide to go and meet with Paula, but I can tell you that it was the best decision I could have made.
I walked into the office and Julie, Paula's assistant (also a rock star) handed me a questionnaire, I filled it out and waited about 15 minutes and then was walked back to Paula's office. She asked me to tell my story, eventually stopping me, because I rambler and it would have cost me a lot of money, b the time I ran out of words. I mentioned the other attorneys that I had met with... They all told me that my ex wife had my boys the majority of the time, but Paula said "You have your boys 52% of the time, I disagreed and told her she was wrong, she slid a printout across the table and said "Is this your schedule?" I told her it was, she said "Then you have your boys 52% of the time.
I hired Paula, because she cut to the chase, she didn't waste my time and didn't allow me to waste my time, by rambling on about things that weren't relevant to my case. I left her office and before I made it back to my house, she had already contacted my sons private school, to verify what I pay for their school and informed me that I shouldn't be paying any child support. I had been paying for 9 years. The first firm I hired had figured it at $519.00 per month. Also, after having my boys pretty much every Thursday through Sunday for 8 years, the judge would have set temporary custody for every other weekend, but Paula stood up and said "You can't do that your honor" and we were able to maintain a better schedule.
Todays date is August 21st, 2020, I hired Paula in February of this year. We went to trial August 19-20 and I couldn't have been more pleased. She was prepared and to say she presented a very organized case, would be an understatement. I knew that she and her assistant Julie had worked really hard, but I was really in awe of what had culminated from their efforts. Paula was very aggressive in her presentation and didn't let the apposing counsel get away with anything.
We won't know the outcome of the trial until the judge reviews the case, but I can't imagine anything, but success, based on Paula's performance, both in the court room and before. I would highly recommend hiring Paula for any family law issues.

Ashlyn is five stars!!! A dear friend recommended Ashlyn to help navigate a dispute between my ex husband and myself. I was blown away by Ashlyn’s attention to detail and familiarity with the court system. When it came time for the trial I wasn’t sure what to expect and was pretty nervous. Once our trial began all those feelings quickly faded as I watched Ashlyn move into action. I completely trusted her and knew she was on top of everything. The professionalism and confidence was beaming. Ashlyn definitely knows her way around the court room and she isn’t afraid to show it. She was truly AHHMAZING! Needless to say we won. And we won BIG. I highly recommend Ashlyn and if I ever need anything in the future, I will be contacting her again.

They say getting divorced is never easy. Add to that getting divorced after 10 plus years to a very mentally ill spouse during a pandemic. I could not have done it with out Ashlyn. During the consultation with Ashlyn she did something that she may not have even realized. She gave me hope, with her understanding of the mental illnesses that my ex spouse has. Ashlyn gave me hope by her experience being a guardian ad litem (an attorney representing the child and what the best interest is for the child.)
After she took my case, Ashlyn used her skills and ability to calm down the bull dog attorney that my spouse hired. In court Ashlyn represented me and my interests exactly, and was able to speed up the divorce process. (At that point my ex was stalling wanting to move forward.)
I pray that no one ever has to divorce their spouse. If they do, I hope that they are lucky enough to have Ashlyn or an attorney of her caliber represent them.

Burton helped me with my divorce. It was a very stressful situation, and Burton was able to calm the storm. Burton is excellent at getting his point across while remaining tactful. He took the time to listen to all of my concerns and addressed each one with care. I've met with attorneys in the past and have never met one like Burton. Penny was outstanding to work with during my divorce. She listened to what was really important to me and guided me through the process with facts. I really liked that Penny was always available to answer my questions. It did not matter if it was after hours during the week or the weekends, Penny was always there to help. She always made me feel that I was the most important client she was working with. Due to the size of our assets, I would ask Penny to run through different scenarios and advise me what was best. This was extremely helpful to me as I made decisions on how to handle asset division. As I child of divorce myself, it was extremely important to me that I did not become a “every other weekend Dad”. Penny understood how important that was to me so she fought for it and was able to get a 50/50 custody arrangement for me.

We came to Julia with an emergency grandchild custody/guardian situation that been totally botched by another attorney. This was our last chance so this time we were very careful and got a lot of advice from people who knew the field and knew the attorneys who was available. Unfailingly, Julia's name kept coming up as a recommendation. We were able to get in to her quickly. The fees are expensive but hers were not out of line with what we were expecting. You get what you pay for! She was knowledgeable and personable at our first meeting. Our case went on for close to a year. I felt like she only had us meet with her when it was necessary so she didn't waste our money. She was prompt at all court appearances and was obviously well respected by her peers and the 2 judges we went before. If we had any complaints, and it was only me because I was so emotional, it would have been that she spend a little more time explaining the process and what to expect. In retrospect, she didn't give us false hope. She can be a little blunt but when we were in court I was glad she was. Coming from the medical field, I compared her to a heart surgeon...a little over my head and all business. She was great in the courtroom, in control and she meticulously presented our case in a manner that was professional and convincing. We got the end results we wanted and she saved us a lot of money by working with the other attorney to get an agreement that saved us from another court hearing. Her office was gracious about allowing us to finish paying our bill in monthly installments. I have recommended her to others and if we ever have need of an attorney for something like this again we will be at her door immediately.

Sarah was able to pick my case up in only 1 day and represent the next. I had just been served papers as defendant for the case taking place in two days. I was a nervous wreck when I called Sarah Carmody's office. I had just been served divorce papers and other than a speeding ticket I had no experience with working with a lawyer. After paying Mark Jeffers nearly 10k for my child custody case and having the case go almost a year with him as my attorney, he decided to withdraw as my attorney at the most crucial point in my case because it was not going perfectly. He made my image in front of the judge worse by withdrawing and left me to spend several thousand more to retain a new attorney. Both my child and myself have suffered additionally because of him and i would highly suggest that anyone that values their time, money and custody of their child never consider hiring Mark Jeffers as their counsel.

I had an old case with Mr Duckers. Decades later a sticky situation came up and Mr Duckers had since retired. Mr Horner spent plenty of his personal time(days really) to help me get answers and get the situation figured out. He could’ve charged me, but did it out of the goodness of his own heart. Megan and her team were amazing throughout the entire process. Extremely communicative with weekly updates on my case and where we were at. I was cc'd on emails to OC and felt like I was kept informed every step of the way. Megan, Kelly, and Nancy were very kind and caring. I felt like they genuinely cared about me and my case. I felt important to them. I dunno how many cases they were handling, but I definitely felt like a priority, which was important to me during this sensitive and difficult time. I can't thank Megan enough for helping me through all of this.
Divorces are difficult and painful, especially with kids. No way around that. I retained Megan Kimbrell after firing my previous lawyer, who didn't seem to care about me or my case. There was no sense of urgency or care with my last lawyer. I felt just like a number to them. But that was not the case with Megan. She was a shining light in a sea of darkness. Thank you Megan. **EDIT TO ADD: Gary did eventually refund me approximately $1500 of the $4000 paid. That doesn't fix any of the problems created by his actions or even lessen the additional costs of having to hire a different firm to fix everything and keep my son and his daughter safe and together. But I am a fair person and feel that I should be transparent about the gesture he actually did fulfill by refunding that smaller portion of my money.

I originally lived in Kansas when my child custody case was created and I have since moved to North Carolina. There were some issues that arose with my daughter and I had to then find a lawyer that can practice in Kansas but would be willing to work with me via zoom. I was a little nervous about hiring an attorney without sitting down face to face and discussing my case.
I called and spoke with his staff to complete my intake paperwork and those ladies were so kind and caring and then after my Zoom call with Tony, I knew that I had found the right person to represent my daughter and I.
Tony is so kind and professional and he truly listens and cares. He was very patient with me during this process and always quick to respond to emails, phone calls, etc. He will fight for you and advocate for you, all the while keeping a positive attitude.

I first worked with Tony several years ago regarding a family law matter. I knew he was gold then and was so grateful he took me on as a client.
More recently, through a series of sad and unusual events, I became the administrator of my ex’s (and father of my child) estate, largely due to some ongoing litigation he had prior to passing.
Tony was my first call when that roller coaster started because I trusted him and knew I would need some help navigating. Through it, I worked with three other sets of attorneys I did not hire.
I can emphatically say Tony is hands down my favorite attorney. Tony has been the only attorney that I worked with that keeps at the forefront that clients are generally not attorneys and that all the not knowing through the legal process is really hard on them. Because the estate had so many moving parts, and I subsequently had a lot of questions, I got to find out how many ways Tony aims at efficiency AND keeping clients informed.
One set of attorneys was particularly awful, and I’m grateful Tony took the brunt of that so that part could get wrapped up sooner than it would have otherwise. The other two were more on the “average” side, but getting information from them was so difficult at times. The one I had the longest working relationship with also does family law, which makes me all the more emphatic in my recommendation of Tony.
He will actually listen to you. He handles the majority of his correspondence and will get back to you in a *very* timely matter, even with a busy caseload. His office staff are absolutely stellar. He really knows the law. (After my first call for the family law matter, as well as what turned into the estate, he quickly ascertained [with little information from me] what was going on and what was likely coming and gave me a spot on summary BOTH times.) Both cases had a moment of needing a strategic move, and what he arrived at was utterly brilliant, both times. He gives excellent counsel. I’ve never felt like I was just another day at the office/paycheck to him. That’s hard to do in any line of work, but especially in one that has so much routine in the day-to-day coupled with clients who are probably having a lot of rough days in a row. His billing is extremely fair, especially given he will not be wasting his time or yours and he will spare you SO MANY headaches because of how he keeps you informed and handles things as a whole. Tony somehow manages to move towards an efficient and fair resolution without getting mired in all the dramatic back and forth it’s easy to get into in a family law situation while still treating you like a person. And he does it all with the utmost integrity. He is the only attorney I’ve worked with that I would hire again (and with a swiftness). What an absolute godsend he’s been!

Very unpleasant experience. Alan looked and treated me like roach from the very first moment. Always talking down in a very condescending tone, like I was so fortunate to have found him. Going through a divorce I was looking for professional guidance and he did nothing but rip me off. Gave him the $850 retainer, but after exchanging a couple messages I informed him that I didn’t agree with his plan and would no longer need his services. I requested a refund. he responded by saying he’d be keeping more than half because we met with me.
