We hired Nick Oswald as my husbands attorney Band he is the Best attorney I have gotten. My husband NEVER went to court. There rate is alit high But if you want the BEST ITS TOTALLY WORTH IT!!!!!!!!! His partner Vanessa she's awesome. She DONT PLAY AROUND. THEY GET STRAIGHT DOWN TO THE POINT. Vanessa speaks Spanish that's nice bc some don't understand English. Discusting p.o.s who takes your money and charges you over and over again to do nothing. Literally kept charging me to meet with a.d.a when she still didn't have the evidence ready. It took over 6 months to get some of the evidence collected, tested and sent back. For those 6 months he charged me but Literally did nothing for me. I told nick I would not agree to anything until all evidence was turned over. The first time I was able to view the evidence was during the trial at court. Not before!!!! Every defendant has the right to review all evidence against them prior to a trial, so a proper decision and defense can be prepared. This was a violation of my constitutional rights. Absolutely amazing experience the whole way though!
Megan and her team were amazing throughout the entire process. Extremely communicative with weekly updates on my case and where we were at. I was cc'd on emails to OC and felt like I was kept informed every step of the way. Megan, Kelly, and Nancy were very kind and caring. I felt like they genuinely cared about me and my case. I felt important to them. I dunno how many cases they were handling, but I definitely felt like a priority, which was important to me during this sensitive and difficult time. I can't thank Megan enough for helping me through all of this.
Divorces are difficult and painful, especially with kids. No way around that. I retained Megan Kimbrell after firing my previous lawyer, who didn't seem to care about me or my case. There was no sense of urgency or care with my last lawyer. I felt just like a number to them. But that was not the case with Megan. She was a shining light in a sea of darkness. Thank you Megan. My wife decided to divorce me after 35 years of marriage. I was very concerned about what this would do to my financial future, and especially being late in my career, my future retirement. I had heard many horror stories about how the laws in Kansas favor the female in a divorce. Only having very limited experience with lawyers, I decided to treat my lawyer selection like an interview process. I scheduled meetings with 2 lawyers to get started. Prior to my meeting with the lawyers, I reviewed all of my divorce papers in great detail. I identified several significant concerns with the terms that my ex’s legal counsel created. My first lawyer meeting was with Desiree Smith.
When I met with Desiree, my first question was about how she was going to represent me. Was I just a lost cause, because I was a male, or was she going to fight for everything she could get for me to protect my future retirement? She reassured me that she was working for me, and she would be doing everything she could for me. She asked me several general questions to understand our financial situation, and then laid out the typical scenarios that could happen in my situation. That immediately set me at ease, knowing that my financial future was not ruined, and that I had a path forward. She then reviewed the terms in the divorce papers. Within only 3-4 minutes of review, and without my assistance, she identified every concern I had about their terms, and a couple more that I hadn’t noticed. At that point, I knew I had found the right person to represent me, and I didn't need to meet with the next lawyer.
Throughout the rest of the divorce process, Desiree’s experience and knowledge showed in every conversation we had. She could quickly discuss detail, easily recall detail from previous meetings, easily answer questions, and was able to help me think through strategies for moving forward. Every meeting I had with her was very productive.
In the end, Desiree helped get a great settlement for me, and we did it without going to court. I got a far better settlement than I ever thought possible in the beginning, and I feel like I probably got a better settlement that most divorced men. Desiree was a very big part of making that happen. I can’t say enough about her knowledge, and how she could explain legal concepts in ways easy for me to understand. Desiree was very easy to work with. I would highly recommend Desiree to help anyone through their family legal needs!

Began my divorce during a deployment, circumstances beyind our control made it drag out longer than I'm sure any of us hoped, however they worked really well for me. Only reason I gave 4 stars is due to paperwork issues of having to request something to be fixed multiple times. Possibly due to clarity/communication issues.

In which I was referred to Parmele for consultation and possible representation . I agreed to allow them access to my medical files for review to determine further action . In the interim and prior to surgery was working with disability help
Group to establish a case for benefits . Adam neidenberg was my attorney with disability help group . Parmele law firm attached themselves to my disability case and have asked for a percentage , after doing nothing ! They reviewed my case for medical negligence and declined to represent , but are holding to a percentage of establishing my disability case and it’s criminal at best ! Do NOT use them for anything ! The service from the very start was awful. I literally talked with the paralegal Ashley. So many times indicating you DONT represent me ,

I hired Dana and had trouble getting ahold of her just to even set up a consultation. When we did meet she seemed competent and was friendly so I hired her. My ex wife hired an attorney to, who turned out to be far more aggressive than Dana was for me. She rarely returned phone calls or emails in a timely manner, which was very frustrating. Essentially I had to build my own case - when I had questions Dana seemed unsure of the right answers and seemed to more or less just roll over to the demands of the opposing counsel. She’s not very assertive as most lawyers tend to be. She couldn’t give me an accurate assessment of what my child support was going to look like and she said she would support my request to have spousal maintenance removed. She didn’t. I ended up working things out as best as I could with my ex and we signed our own agreement because the lawyers were taking way too long and we were headed for an expensive trial. She did help me keep my house and my pension, those were good things. I would have liked a more agressive attorney and Dana is not that person.

I had a lawyer representing my case for the last two or so months, he has done absolutely nothing for me. Then he emailed me out of the blue saying “he didn’t work for that law firm anymore, that they would assign me a new lawyer.” It has been almost three weeks since then, and I have yet to hear from my new lawyer. They keep taking my money though!!! I have payed this law firm so much money, and have had no help. They asked for a hard drive of all the videos/evidence, that I had, I payed $80 for that hard drive, turned it in, and I got an email almost instantly saying they couldn’t open it. I asked why, what was the problem, and have heard nothing back. I have called my new lawyers office multiple times now, always having to leave a message. I have yet to get a email, call, or text back. This is absolutely outrageous, I am 22yrs old and a single mother. I don’t have money to keep paying this law firm, to do nothing for me. I am so disappointed, I don’t know how anyone has had a good experience with them.

They responded, I emailed back stating I still wanted to meet. No response. Obviously communication skills are lacking and potential client's aren't important.

David hawley was understanding, and helpful in my case. He answered any questions I had and was also reassuring. He comes off kind of aggressive but that’s what you need for someone to fight for you, David got right to the point and straight to it with everything in my situation. David worked fast and responded quickly as well as his assistant Diana who was also great to me. He showed up to court and was great. If you need someone for a family law case he’s the one to fight it for you! I’ll definitely go back if I ever need him for any help for a family law case.

I don't even know where to start. I paid David to fight my case. Today, he didn't show up for court. I had to call him and then when he finally appeared, he talked for less than 5 minutes. He did nothing to defend me and refused my call after. His assistant told me he was in the bathroom literally a minute after court and thet he would return it later. He never did. He was also late to meetings that he set up and legit yelled at me multiple times. He is a bully and a waste of money

Face it...it this day and age, divorce is prevalent. I highly recamend you find a work around. Given the fact that this is not always a answer......I strongly suggest you employ Monica . I found this process in its self....painless to accept with her as your attorney. I strongly suggest you get your paperwork together and if and when she asks for a document...you take two her straight away. She is in the middle of your case and NEEDS it..now. ....not when you get around to it. Drive it to her office
You can not get better representation in my book. I would use her again. However....Im not going to be in the position to be divorced again....ever. Cost between attorneys must be compatible......personal service is the only thing that makes one different from the other.......go with Monica.

Unless you are okay with seeing your children every other weekend and paying so much in child support you won't be able to afford anything else, find another lawyer. I hired her about 8 years ago and was almost raked over the coals. I left bad reviews at that time also that are somehow not viewable now. I wasn't even able to find her on my court date and was lucky enough to come to an agreement with my ex and her lawyer that didn't destroy me. I was also denied money back after the whole ordeal. Very bad experience for a newly single father.

Worst lawyer experience of our lives. He will take your money and get pointless revenue and always agree with the other party and never represent his own clients purposely. This is the worst lawyer I’ve ever had any contact with through speeding tickets, family, law, or simple Dispute with neighbors through litigation. He will take weeks to respond back and also think he’s smarter than you so there’s no point in arguing your case. Horrible culture, cander and transparency.

I recently hired Scott to assist with my divorce case. Throughout the entire process, I never really felt like he was on my side. It felt like he talked down to me many times, and it seemed as though he would wait for the other attorney to submit something, and then send it to me to review and respond. I found it difficult to navigate this divorce, because it felt like I had nobody on my side. Then came the $10,000 bills from Scott, totalling over $65,000. When I questioned what these bills were for, and what work he had done for me, he fired me about a month before my court date leaving me without counsel during my trial. I felt like my case was just a means to an end for him, and that he was more interested in prolonging the length of my case to generate more money, and the second I started questioning why it was costing so much he bailed on me.
I wouldn't recommend this lawyer to anyone seeking a legal representative who truly has their best interests at heart. I believe it's crucial for a lawyer to have a strong client-attorney relationship built on trust and transparency, and in my experience, that simply wasn't the case.

She gave wrong advice which caused us to lose our children. Only found that that advice pleased the opposing counsel. We thought she is different, but they are all the same, working out deals with each other for their own good not for the clients.
The worse was that we found that she worked for the cause of my ex, just so she could keep good relationship with the opposing counsel. At the crucial moment, she just found a reason to abandon you. I don't recommend this lawyer.

Kari was used to adjust child support and work on a parenting plan I was attempting to get more time with my son. Overall I was not impressed, I constantly had to follow up with her and try and give us a game plan. I did not have confidence in her work to go to court and thus had to settle much more time and money than I was hoping to get with my son.

Avoid this attorney! Just another "shopping center" attorney. She lied to me more than twice. She misrepresented my position and failed to act as she said she would. She did not have my approval to agree to specific terms and the orders she prepared were loaded with errors causing additional conflict in an already high-conflict environment. Ultimately, she wound up professing her blossoming love for opposing counsel and shared confidential information with him. This one will waste your money and create more aggravation than any divorce is worth.

Lindsee Acton speaks from both sides of her mouth. Her advice was horrible and she often contradicted bad advice with different bad advice. In the end, I fired her after she exclaimed in a hearing how much she loved opposing counsel. The orders she prepared were inaccurate, using "and" when "or" should have been used. Sloppy work. Too busy. She seemed to forget who her client was. I hired her to eliminate the drama while every step she took only created unbearable additional drama. I decided I couldn't afford to pay for her mistakes and lack of concern for my family's outcomes.

I hired Kay to as my divorce attorney. She was always prompt and professional. She supported and assisted me in doing much of the legal work myself to save money, which I appreciated. My divorce happened in 2001 after a marriage of almost 35 years. My Ex-husband was to voluntarily pay monthly maintenance for a period of ten years. At the end of 2002, I moved out of Kansas. The maintenance arrived, sometimes sporadically, and then stopped. I contacted the original lawyer whose services I used during the divorce. She declined to become involved. There must have been someone watching out for me because when I consulted the Internet for another attorney in Johnson County KS, I liked what I read about Joe Booth and flew to Kansas to meet with him. To say I thought he was excellent in handling my case is an understatement. He was the champion that I needed so much at the time. I will be forever grateful for his expertise and professionalism. He earned and deserves all the accolades I could ever voice.

I would not recommend her to anyone. When I called to schedule a consultation regarding a divorce, she refused to assist me, laughed, and abruptly ended the call while still laughing. This situation is already highly stressful, as it involves children and the sale of a home. My brother is currently using her services, and has not had any positive results from her either.
