Richard and his team really listened to try and understand my situation early on which was huge for me. Jack Taggert of Mclleveen Law Firm has gone above and beyond to assist me on my custody matter. My first lawyer didn’t do so well and when I reached out to Jack I had honestly lost faith in getting my daughter back in my life. I can not say enough great things about Susan and Sandlin Law Firm. I was referred to this firm when I moved here in 2016 while going through an ugly divorce. I have used Susan for the past 7 years and have referred her to friends that need a knowledgeable attorney who will have their back.

As someone who unfortunately has had to deal with 4-5 lawyers in the few years this was by far my absolute worst experience with any attorney/firm. Can’t recommend enough to get a different consult and get better advice, would never work with them again.
The strategy here seems to be to take clients to court and to drag things out as long as possible to wrack up billable hours. From this from I paid over $10k for a divorce case that almost went to trial, until the firm was late on giving me needed disclosures to complete - when I changed attorneys almost instantly got the case out of court and saved a ton of money and got what I wanted.
Attorneys here couldn’t seem to care less, they are arrogant and will give you bad informaron to keep your case going to trial. Total waste and huge regret wasting any time and money here.

Mariana has represented me for almost a decade starting with my separation in 2013. Unfortunately, I’ve needed her assistance navigating a difficult physical and legal joint custody of 4 children ever since. We’ve been through 2 parental coordinators (do not recommend), mediation, custody modifications and addendums, depositions of my ex and his multiple live in girlfriends (my personal favorite strategy), police and CPS involvement and attempted restraining orders. Much more but after awhile it’s just embarrassing.
Mariana has a good memory for my case which is super thick at this point. She once read 8 years of our family wizard emails before a deposition. Mariana has a good working relationship with her industry colleagues (when my ex hires and fires new attorneys Mariana gets them up to speed). Mariana is logical and non reactive. She thinks in terms of moves and counter moves.
If you are looking for revenge and want a man hating bulldog that will bury your opposition in motions and BS I would keep looking. Marina isn’t going to be your big sister, BFF or your therapist and charge you for it. I am the father of a 6 year old girl, whose mother decided to cut me out of her life. For months, she did not allow me to have any communication, or visits with my daughter.
Mariana proceeded through the custody process extremely efficiently. All the email, calls, and discussions were extremely productive and led to a very strong case in court. Mariana is caring, extremely responsive (a rare trait in attorneys, i find), smart, well connected, and delivers results. More importantly, she is also very good at setting realistic expectations and wading through her client's emotions to tease out the facts and usable information. She prepared me well for my court date, always explained each step of the process very clearly, and made sure I was aware of all possible outcomes at all times (which greatly reduces surprises in an already emotionally difficult time).

Mary was very direct and clear about her recommendations, but was also willing to do whatever I asked during a very complicated custody, equitable distribution and divorce process. She was supportive and has a great sense of humor. She has good relationships with her legal counterparts, which ultimately makes the most difference in and out of court. Wendy was also very responsive and helpful. Since this was a complex case, there were some things that did not turn out as expected, but Mary and Wendy were always upfront with me and walked through what the next steps would be. The only feedback for improvement would be occasionally administrative things were a little disorganized (for instance forgetting to correct errors in paperwork, disposing of the wrong document, having to do some things while I waited rather than having it ready), but there was nothing that impacted the case negatively. Overall, they took care of whatever needed to happen and made sure my best interests were covered.

I had a very cantankerous case with Mike that meandered through the Family Court system for several years, and I couldn't think of a better attorney to have by my side. He has an great understanding of the laws (obviously), but more importantly the intricacies of the "system": the policies and procedures the Courts and Judges follow in the administering of the cases...this may seem insignificant, but generates many opportunities to grab the upper hand in negotiations. Most importantly, he commands respect from the Judges and the Court system, as they know he has a deep reservoir of knowledge/understanding and is a very respectful presence in their courtroom.
Mike is good at devising legal strategy, and explaining the possible outcomes of your case (he can't, after all, predict the way the Judges will decide on this issue or that). He presents his cases not with fiery oration, but with the technical skill of a surgeon.
On top of all this, he's a great guy, and I believe he doesn't take cases unless he believes he can make a difference.
