Thankfully I have not needed the services of Millar Legal personally, but I know two others that have. The theme always seems to be that Aaron is a highly skilled attorney, without question, but the difference for them was how personable and compassionate Aaron was during an (obviously) stressful and emotional time. I personally know Aaron through other professional channels and can attest to the fact that he genuinely cares for people, beyond just the courtroom. The other great reviews and testimonials all ring true. Easy call to make.

I began the divorce process in October of 2021. At the time, I had different counsel. Nearly a year into the saga, I was referred to Aaron through another family law attorney. Once I hired Aaron, I knew I had the right attorney.
My case was very high conflict. Aaron would ask my thoughts and ideas on the best way to navigate all the roadblocks that were thrown our way. Aaron was always calm. He was a voice of reason. He would ask questions to ensure he understood what I needed. Aaron did not always agree with me. When we didn’t agree, he explained his position and the most likely outcome. He was quick to return emails or phone calls. I could count on a response within 24-48 hours.
My case ultimately ended up at trial. I appreciated Aaron’s honesty and integrity throughout the entire process. He was very thoughtful with all of the motions and exhibits he presented to the Court, as he understood the Court does not have a lot of time to spend on each case. At trial, Aaron was able to take hundreds of pages of information and display them on a spreadsheet that was easy for everyone, including the judge, to understand. During the first day of trial, the Judge held up Aaron’s spreadsheet specific to alimony. It detailed previous martial expenses, current expenses and predicted expenses. The Judge shook it above his head while exclaiming that is how it should be done! While making his ruling, the Judge once again commented how helpful Aaron’s presentation was in determining alimony. Aaron was always in control: control of himself, control of the room, control of the issues, control of the evidence.
Aaron was able to get me full physical and legal custody of my 16 year old, he successfully negotiated that she determine parent time and secured more alimony than I ever wanted or expected.
Aaron and I made a great team. Normally I would approach Aaron with a solution to the latest problem. Aaron was always open to my ideas; he wasn’t threatened by my involvement. I had some ideas that were unconventional but checked off all of the boxes when it came to the law. Aaron was willing to advocate for me even though he didn’t know what the outcome would be. Aaron was very methodical. He was not ego driven. Aaron did what was best for his client, not what was the easiest or most popular. Whether he agreed with me or not, Aaron would always hear me out. My prior counsel dismissed me even when I had what ultimately became the winning strategy.
I will always recommend Millar Legal to anyone that finds themself needing legal representation, specifically in a high conflict divorce case.

Spencer and Liz (paralegal) are a fantastic team. I'm understating their importance to each other. I'm a firm believer they compliment each other very well.
Spencer was hired as a guardian ad litem. The recommendation came from the attorney of my son's mother to use him to represent my son. So I owe him a huge thank you. For those who may be unfamiliar, the purpose of a guardian ad litem is to represent the minor's best interest. Spencer was detailed and thorough. He met with my son on multiple occasions. He spoke with additional professionals who offered perspective. A recommendation wasn't rendered until Spencer felt he had as many answers to the questions as he needed before making a decision. I'm grateful and appreciative he choose to be thorough and exhaustive in the process.
Fast forward to the final result, my son is now in my custody.
If you're looking for an attorney who doesn't cut corners or take short cuts, who genuinely attempts to make the most informed decision using as much information as can be gleaned, he is the attorney you'll wish you had.

Spencer came to us early in his career. Not only did he impress us with his straight-forward honesty as to the outcomes, he has a kind demeanor and you know he really cares about the law and what is right.
I do know him outside the courtroom, but that is the reason I had him by our side when our family needed a lawyer.
Unfortunately this is one service that excellence is something you never have to use again. This is our case.

If I could give Matt 10 stars, I would. We have a Washington case that was transferred to Utah and after a lot of searching for a good attorney, stumbled upon Matt, who previously practiced in WA before moving to Utah. This man is worth every penny and then some. He is professional while also being realistic and keeping humor involved. He has never given us expectations of something that didn't happen. He has fought for us and gotten results in record time that we weren't able to get with previous attorneys. Matt has gotten more results in 1.5 years than we previously managed to get in almost 10 years. He is logical, efficient and has a keen eye for detail. I work in the legal field in WA, but once it was transferred we had to find a Utah attorney so I'm extremely picky and have pretty high standards. Honestly, if you don't hire him it's your loss, and if your ex hires him you're probably screwed. He's that good.

Mr. Voss is by fair an amazing attorney. He takes the time to a actually hear your concerns without interrupting you, which is very uncommon in these kind of situations. He doesn’t take your money then tells you “ I can’t seem to help”. He is a legit human being and understands the difficulty of being a divorce parent. I would highly recommend Mr. Voss. Ryan recently helped me with a very contentious divorce. He was supportive, responsive, and very knowledgeable. I initially thought I could simply use the online, self-serve resources that the court system provides through the OCAP system. I had so many questions and Ryan answered all of them. I wish I could fully convey my thoughts about Scott. Scott took on my case midway through the process when my previous attorney quit my divorce. I found myself in a really bad spot having to find a new attorney that was willing to go to trial with a judge that was not in my favor, and against my ex’s attorney who was free. Scott had good graces knowing that I came from an attorney that honestly loathed him, and he took up my banner in the middle of his heavy case load. I cannot tell you how indebted to him and his team for making the impossible possible.
By the time my trial came my case had been completely revamped. His partner Mckail worked diligently on my exhibits for my case and spent the time to really prepare all my witnesses before trial. We walked in to court with a better case than I had in the last year, and Scott’s acumen in the trial was shrewd and well informed. His arguments consistently met with the approval of the judge, and he deftly handled my ex’s attorney when they tried to sneak in testimony that was underhanded.
In the end I got what I fought for two years for, my kids and the equal right to be involved in their lives. My children and I are the direct benefactors of Scott’s skills and help. I absolutely give my recommendation to Scott as an attorney worth working with.

I met Laja on a pro se hearing for temporary orders on my divorce case. She was the second attorney that I had pro se and immediately I could tell she was far different from the man that had represented me the first time around. I retained her ASAP after that second hearing and I haven't had a regret about it since. Laja, while representing me and willing to do as I asked, was an amazing voice of reason in helping me make decisions on how to proceed with my case and laying out possible outcomes, as well as giving her professional opinion based on her experiences from past cases. She has a vast knowledge of Utah family law and in the end, the case worked out in my favor which is abnormal for the state I live in. She dealt swiftly with my ex through the whole thing, who was constantly dragging her feet and making things difficult. Laja went far and beyond her description when arranging meets and phone calls, as my schedule is a bit hectic, and she is quick to answer any questions via phone call, text or email without pause. Scott Help me through a very rough patch in my life. I needed to work through a marriage fraught with trials and challenges. He did not encourage me to hurry and get a divorce, rather he encouraged me to do several things to save the marriage. I followed his advice and in the end he did help me with the divorce process, but by the time we did that, I was well prepared for the end. I knew that everything possible had been tried, and having tried many, many solutions gave me insight into the situation that I otherwise would never have known. My ex-wife was married to me but she was in love with someone else. Had we filed for divorce right away, I would have ended up in a much worse situation. Having waited until the more complete story came out put me in a great position to keep the children with full custody. I get to stay in the family home and the money I earned goes to support the family not to support someone who is untrustworthy. During the time I was trying to put things back together, I found out about secret banking accounts, real estate, and other possessions that were part of her life but not mine. Scott helped me understand why she pushed so hard for some things (mostly financial.) She pushed hard for all of the things we owned together to be put into a family trust which for some reason didn't include me. She said that because we were married in reality I was a member of the trust. She wanted access to my bank account, but refused to allow me to even go into her bank with her. When it came time for the financial statements to be filed, I had the information needed to confront her about the assets that she had and had not declared.
Due to the lack of her disclosure it was clear that she was not telling the truth and therefore had no credibility with the judge. The judge looked much more favorably at the arguments we presented even though the truth of my position was not always pretty, it was the truth. I had given Scott all of the ugly details of the marriage, so there were no surprises for him during negotiations or when we got to court.

I hired Jacob to represent me in a family law case my ex-husband initiated. Living in Missouri and having to hire an attorney in Utah was a little stressful, but Jacob made the process go very smoothly. We had an initial consultation over the phone where we discussed the case, my thoughts and feelings, and what the next steps going forward would be if I hired Jacob. Jacob really listened to me, understood where I was coming from and the situation at hand, and was straightforward about how he thought the case would turn out. After hiring Jacob to represent me, we communicated pretty regularly through email, texts, and phone calls. Jacob was very conscious about his fees, and he did his best to keep costs as low as possible for me. I really appreciated this and didn't feel like he was cutting corners or slacking in any way to keep costs low. He kept me in the loop regarding the case throughout the entire process and he made sure to submit my answers and evidence to the court in a timely manner to make sure we were within deadlines.
When my court date finally arrived, Jacob and I had a brief phone conversation before our WebEx session to make sure we had everything covered and to discuss the argument Jacob would be making. Jacob stayed on track and argued every point we discussed. Though we didn't get the exact outcome we were hoping for, Jacob did a great job minimizing my loss and I was happy with the outcome we got.
Jacob did a great job representing me in this case. Should the need arise in the future, I wouldn't hesitate to hire him again. He listens to his clients and is always asking for input and direction. He treated my case like we were a team and I really appreciated being involved in what was happening.

I consulted with Jacob when he was a fairly new attorney outside of family law. He struggled with advanced legal arguments (anything other than the usual "failure to state a claim" reply) and was not really able to form a cohesive structure in his writing. He lacks a logical mind that excellent attorneys have as the research and writing that we consulted with came back to that of a first year law student. I am rating him average, because there was nothing above-average in his work.

I reached out to Raposa Law and spoke to an individual named Kit Ericson. I came to Kit vulnerable and worn down from attempting to reach my child for multiple years with no results, hoping he would be the answer to this continuous hell I’ve experienced. Unfortunately, he wasn’t. Kit didn’t pay much attention to what I said and wasn’t sympathetic to my plight. I got in car accident, hit by a drunk driver. I hired Caldwell law to help get a settlement. Felt like they weren’t on top of everything. Had to keep calling and texting just to get updates on my case. They kept making excuses on that they were short staffed. I didn’t feel like they fought hard for me or my best interests. This happened three years ago and I still struggle to this day with health issues and chronic pain. I have to pay out of pocket just for treatment. They never held my own insurance company accountable and allowed my finance company to completely screw me over for having to make the payment on a reck car for 6 months.

Chris Guymon did an Amazing job. He did mediation for My Ex and I 100% hands down would recommend him. He is very professional and worked well with us.
