My husband and I bought a property in NYC using Mina Kennedy as our attorney. We were given her name by my son who had purchased an apartment two years earlier in the city. It’s a job at the end of the day to most. If Aaron Shapiro or the force that is Amanda Schaffer takes your case, TRUST THEM. Full disclosure: I am a nightmare client. On a scale from 1-10, I’m an 11 in terms of annoying. My son is my absolute world. I have been a “white pony” more times than you can imagine. Over-billed. None of it made sense. Those attorneys cared about a paycheck. Aaron and Amanda are not only EXCELLENT attorneys, they’re good people. They have a backbone. Their time is valuable. They’re not cheap. Know that. When your child, freedom, or immigration status is on the line — don’t put it in the hands of someone who treats you like a file. He had me sign the retainer, pay almost $7000 and disappeared. He did not show up in court saying I still had to sign a form. I never received said form and he stopped answering altogether. I cannot believe he would do this to families in need of help.

Several years ago I suffered an unfortunate accident while traversing the streets of NYC. The incident resulted in severe injuries that landed me in a hospital emergency room in excruciating pain and in a cast for several months thereafter, and a plethora of doctors appointments and follow up visits. The accident definitely limited my ability in getting around and had life long effects that I will now have to bare as a result of the negligence imposed by third parties. Had it not been for the Lawyers at Friedman Levy, specifically Charles Green who was relentless and dedicated in seeing me through a vindication, I don’t know where I’d be. Let me tell you, no one likes to be on the receiving end of a law suit, and when municipalities and corporate titans don’t want to pay up, they lawyer up and keep stalling until you give up. Mr.Tanner was my attorney at a very scary time. I was facing up to 10 years in prison for being
involved with wrong people. I was very lucky that he took my case. Howard Tanner is very well respected in his sphere, he knows ins and outs of the system with over 35 years of experience not just as an attorney, but as a prosecutor as well. He treated me with consideration and courtesy. He made me feel mattered! I am very grateful that he was on my side during this horrendous experience giving me his guidance. I feel it’s also important to have someone who has patience to return your calls and emails, explain the process, timeline and manage expectations.
My case ended up being dismissed. I am thankful for every minute I have now as a free person.

The initial phone call seemed excellent, it was all downhill from there. We hired them to help us with a debt issue, they told us with confidence they could get us a good deal, obviously nothing is guaranteed but I had confidence they had our back, they were very aware of the financial situation that we are dealing with so i expected them to let us know every step and to not waste any of our precious money. There was already a judgement against us and yet when they called the opposition attorney the court documents were not reviewed, according to their invoice, maybe I don't understand the law but I would think you would do your diligence before you talk to the opposing attorney, if they did they would have seen the judgement was already done and they had limited power to help which in our situation would have been appreciated, we should have been given the option to end the agreement saving over $1,000.00. Obviously that didn't happen, two weeks later they finally reviewed the documents and guess what? Still no call, it took a month for us to receive an email explaining this situation about the judgement from Arthur, by the way, since he passed us off to a Paralegal we only talked to him in the beginning and the last email, the only reason I even know what happened timing wise is because they actually have very good details in their invoice, that's what the one star was for in the review. We were given two options, they told us that was it, we were not given a chance for a counter offer, just what they said is the best case scenario. Funny, I'm not a lawyer yet I was able to negotiate two better offers myself, I did the work they should have. To me, as a business owner of 20 years you give your client the option to save them money and not waste time, I don't believe they share my philosophy, I will never use them again, complete waste of time and money and money is all they seem to care about, not their clients.

I'm currently using them as representation for the class action boy scouts of America case there's been extremely low communication between client and attorney I do also understand that they have an enormous clientele but I would like to know what's going on with my case and where it's at in the litigation and like how much longer it's going to be before there's a result but with that said it's my understanding that these guys are the best of the best so I trust that they will continue to fight as they have in the past and I'm sure they will continue to do in the future

Updated review. I cannot stress to anybody reading this enough: who you hire matters and you get what you pay for. Attorney’s have case after case slide across their desk. It’s a job at the end of the day to most. If Aaron Shapiro or the force that is Amanda Schaffer takes your case, TRUST THEM. Full disclosure: I am a nightmare client. On a scale from 1-10, I’m an 11 in terms of annoying. My son is my absolute world. I have been a “white pony” more times than you can imagine. Over-billed. None of it made sense. Those attorneys cared about a paycheck. Aaron and Amanda are not only EXCELLENT attorneys, they’re good people. They have a backbone. Their time is valuable. They’re not cheap. Know that. When your child, freedom, or immigration status is on the line — don’t put it in the hands of someone who treats you like a file. The legal progress is exhausting (mentally and financially — I know it all too well.) It’s unfair. Read that again.
