I got notice of a data breach of personal data in a place that I had not worked for in 14 years. To make it even more annoying, it was originally a company that dealt with digital data that was bought by another larger firm. I looked around online at who I could contact about this, and I found Migliaccio & Rathod. I went through all the reviews, etc, and I finally reached out to them. I'm glad I did. They walked me through everything. I am happy with how they communicated with me through the entire process and the case was settled in a professional manner.

Let me first say that Mr. Lopez treated my case as if it were his own personal fight. He was super attentive to my concerns and diligent about resolving them. Mr. Lopez's team was fully involved throughout the entire ordeal. His knowledge concerning family law is impressive and I never felt alone even when things were kind of shaky. Mr. Lopez got me the results I wanted and even did some work on my case that he did not charge me for. I wish he did more than family law. I can use a Mr. Lopez in everyday life for advice. :) Thanks again Carlos!!! You have my respect and gratitude forever!

Mr. Zavareei is an exceptionally gifted attorney. His sense of justice, intricate understanding of the law and his tireless dedication to his clients, makes him an invaluable partner and advisor. A skilled strategist, Mr. Zavareei expertly navigated all aspects of a complex employment related case and through each phase of the legal process he laid the groundwork for consistently positive results. Perhaps his greatest attribute in the often cold and calculating legal profession, is his empathy and his ability to keep his clients spirits up, no matter the injustice.

Our company has been in business for nearly twenty years, and during that time we’ve dealt with countless lawyers. Hassan Zavareei unquestionably ranks as the best of the best. Hassan has represented us in a number of high-stakes, high-profile lawsuits, and he has always delivered world-class legal advocacy. Hassan has a sharp legal mind is able to clearly explain even the most complex issues; he is a formidable strategist and never loses sight of the big picture; he is a masterful writer; he is able to deliver compelling arguments to both a judge and jury; and most importantly, he is ethical, devoted, and genuinely cares about his clients. Attorneys who possess all of these qualities are a rare breed. Whenever important legal issues arise, we turn to Hassan first.

I was initially referred to Hassan by his former colleagues at the firm Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher. I had been apprehensive about moving forward with a lawsuit, as I was presently under much stress and lacked the time or energy to become embroiled in protracted, combative litigation. However, after several meetings with Hassan, I began to feel more confident about my case, and very comfortable with Hassan taking the lead. As we developed our legal strategy and prepared for mediation, Hassan involved me in every aspect of the matter, keeping me apprised of each detail in a timely manner. He was willing to use every resource at his disposal to further strengthen our position. Perhaps most significantly, however, he listened to and valued my opinions, concerns and thoughts. I felt that we were very much working as a team, making decisions together. During our mediation with the defendants, Hassan was persuasive, aggressive and creative, often resorting to non-legal arguments. Shortly thereafter, we settled the matter for a sum much larger than I ever would have anticipated. We did so without ever having to file a complaint, thereby avoiding the drudgery of litigation. From my perspective, the result was optimal in all respects. I am able to reflect on that process and on the outcome with complete satisfaction, knowing that my position was ultimately vindicated. Today, Hassan remains a very dear and trusted friend. I have referred others to him on numerous occasions, and will continue to do so in the future.

I was involved in a rear-end accident. While I was at urgent care I was given a card for the Lapidus law firm. Through their advice, I rejected the low ball settlement and they proceeded to file suit for me which doubled the original offer!

My settlement check arrived today and I will be eternally grateful to The Law Office of Leah Durant, her associates and staff for the efficient way they handled my case. I would like to commend them for keeping me informed and making me aware of any new information. Anytime I talked to anyone in their office they were professional, pleasant, helpful, informative and made me feel valued. As soon as the case was closed and the settlement was made available to them, they immediately sent it to me. I would highly recommend them as they made everything easy and got results beyond my expectations.

Leah and her staff are amazing at what they do! This is not the sort of injury you would give to a typical injury lawyer. They walked me through the process and kept me informed the entire way, best of all the entire award for my injury was all mine! the government pays the attorney fees directly. I would highly recommend Leah's firm to anyone who is unfortunate enough to get a vaccine injury! They will make the process easiest part of the injury.

Five stars are simply not enough for Jim, my attorney Casey, and my paralegal Yuliana at Hacking Immigration Law. After having a less-than-ideal experience with a previous immigration lawyer, I received an RFE (Request for Evidence) from USCIS, which left me feeling uncertain and stressed about my case. That's when I decided to switch to Hacking Immigration Law, and it was the best decision I could have made. The team immediately jumped into action. Their professionalism, dedication, and attention to detail were incredible. In less than 72 hours after submitting my RFE response, both my I-130 and I-485 were approved, and I am now a lawful permanent resident of the United States. I can't recommend them highly enough. If you want a team that truly cares about your case and delivers results, look no further than Hacking Immigration Law. Thank you again, Jim, Casey, and Yuliana, for helping me achieve this dream!

This law firm has restored my faith in morale in this society. I was a wronged client in an employment matter and worked with two lawyers from this firm over the span of a year so if there was ever the need for a truly transparent and thorough review, it would be this one. Throughout the entire time I worked with Jeffrey Bartos and Raziya Brumfield at this firm, I felt heard, acknowledged, and truly cared for. Not only does this firm bring a wealth of knowledge regarding legalities and expertly drafted arguments, but they are completely transparent and forthcoming about their operation and rationale. I was pleasantly surprised to see that they not only sympathized with my position but they were able to articulate my thoughts and intentions in a manner that speaks to the factual record and I feel really blessed to have had the opportunity to work with the attorneys as my case was particularly sensitive. Everything worked out in the end in terms of obtaining favor for our case, and I highly recommend this firm to anyone that is looking for top notch representation and advocacy. If i had to do it all over again, I would still choose this firm. God bless you both.

They were well organized and incredibly experienced in dealing with government security processes. I am incredibly glad that they were recommended to me. I felt like they truly cared about the success of my case. They took the time to understand me and why this case was so important to me. They were able to offer insight that I was never given from a previous firm. They understand their expertise and what I as a non-lawyer need to know and how best to relay that information. They were patient and responsive and I am so happy we were able to work together. Highly recommend!

Carl, I am writing tonight to express my appreciation of National Security Law Firm's expertise in defending people in the position I found myself in. I cannot help but to admit that I found myself really low in spirit as my whole livelihood was at stake. I took many abuses at work. However, on a lighter note, I just found out today, that I just got my clearance back. I owe it all to National Security Clearance Law Firm. Please, please extend my gratitude to your colleagues that worked my case. There is really no way to know how to navigate the various beauracracies that you have to deal with. I would call your law firm in a heartbeat if I ever have any issue again.

Words cannot express the gratitude I feel for the assistance that Mr. O’Brien and his team have provided me. Recently, I had to appeal a revocation of my security clearance and so I scheduled a consultation with Mr. O’Brien. After having talked to two attorneys prior, Mr. O’Brien impressed me the most, not only with his knowledge but also with the compassion he shared for my particular situation. My decision was made on the spot to retain National Security Law Firm for my case. Over the last few months I have worked with Janet Schnell, who assisted with obtaining necessary information for my appeal, and Luke Rose, who finalized the masterpiece. All communications were professional and Janet was always available to answer any and all questions that I had during the process. I can happily say that my appeal was approved and I could not have done it without them. If you’re looking for assistance, National Security Law Firm should be your number one choice!

If you are working on a commercial real estate deal, do not proceed without Andy Pillay, Esq. Working with Andy ensures that you have a strong advocate on your side, giving you sound legal advice. We had the great pleasure of working with Mr. Pillay on a 1031 investment deal. Throughout the transaction, Andy was always knowledgeable, responsive, and creatively looking for practical solutions to protect our interests and get the deal done. We greatly appreciated his expertise in VA and DC real estate law. As a real estate law professional myself, 10/10 recommend and would work with him again.

What a Class Action Lawyer Can Do for You

A class action lawyer specializes in representing groups of individuals who have suffered similar harm or injury due to the actions of a company, organization, or government entity. These lawyers file lawsuits on behalf of a large group (the "class") of individuals, seeking compensation or relief for damages caused by things like defective products, environmental harm, consumer fraud, or employment violations. Class action lawyers are skilled in managing complex legal processes that involve numerous plaintiffs and large-scale legal claims.

If you’ve been harmed by a product, service, or corporate action that also affected many others, a class action lawyer can help you join or initiate a collective lawsuit to seek justice and compensation.

When Should I Hire a Class Action Lawyer?

You should consider hiring a class action lawyer if you and a group of people have experienced harm or damages under similar circumstances. Common scenarios include:

  • Defective products: If a product you purchased caused injury, illness, or other harm due to a defect, a class action lawyer can help you join a lawsuit against the manufacturer or retailer.
  • Consumer fraud: If a company has misled consumers through false advertising, deceptive business practices, or scams, a class action lawsuit can be filed to seek compensation on behalf of all affected customers.
  • Employment violations: If your employer has violated labor laws - such as failing to pay overtime, denying benefits, or enforcing discriminatory policies - a class action lawyer can represent a group of employees seeking justice.
  • Data breaches: If a company’s negligence led to a data breach that compromised your personal information, you may be able to join a class action lawsuit seeking compensation for the breach.
  • Environmental damage: If you or your community has been harmed by environmental hazards, such as pollution or toxic waste, a class action lawyer can file a collective lawsuit against the responsible party.
  • Unfair financial practices: If a bank, lender, or credit card company engaged in fraudulent or illegal financial practices, a class action lawyer can help a group of consumers recover losses.

Hiring a lawyer early in the process helps ensure that you meet legal deadlines and that your case is properly prepared for a potential class action lawsuit.

What Does a Class Action Lawyer Do?

A class action lawyer provides a range of legal services to represent large groups of individuals in lawsuits. Their responsibilities often include:

  • Investigating the claim: The lawyer investigates the facts of the case, including gathering evidence of harm, identifying potential plaintiffs, and determining whether a class action lawsuit is the best course of action.
  • Filing the lawsuit: The lawyer files the class action lawsuit on behalf of the named plaintiffs (the representative plaintiffs) and others who have experienced similar harm.
  • Class certification: One of the first steps in a class action is getting the court to certify the case as a class action. The lawyer will argue that the case meets the legal requirements for certification, such as the number of plaintiffs and commonality of harm.
  • Communicating with plaintiffs: Class action lawyers keep plaintiffs informed throughout the process, including notifying potential class members about the lawsuit and giving them the opportunity to join the case.
  • Negotiating settlements: Many class action lawsuits are resolved through settlements before going to trial. The lawyer will negotiate with the defendant to reach a settlement that compensates the class for their losses.
  • Representing the class in court: If the case goes to trial, the lawyer will represent the entire class, presenting evidence, questioning witnesses, and arguing for the plaintiffs.
  • Managing claims distribution: Once a settlement or verdict is reached, the lawyer helps manage the process of distributing compensation to class members, ensuring that all eligible plaintiffs receive their share of the award.

How Are Class Action Lawyers Paid?

Class action lawyers are typically paid on a contingency fee basis, meaning they only get paid if the class action lawsuit is successful. Here’s how their payment structure generally works:

  • Contingency fee: Class action lawyers usually take a percentage of the settlement or judgment as their fee. This percentage typically ranges from 25% to 40%, depending on the complexity of the case and the amount of work involved.
  • No upfront fees: You generally won’t have to pay any fees upfront. The lawyer covers the costs of the lawsuit, such as filing fees, expert witness fees, and court costs, and is reimbursed from the settlement or award.
  • Court approval of fees: In class action cases, the court must approve the lawyer’s fee to ensure that it is reasonable. This helps protect class members from paying excessive legal fees.

Always discuss fee arrangements with your lawyer at the outset to understand how much they will be paid if the lawsuit is successful.

How Much Does a Class Action Lawyer Cost?

Class action lawyers generally work on contingency, meaning they don’t get paid unless the lawsuit is successful. Here’s a breakdown of potential costs:

  • Contingency fee: Class action lawyers typically charge between 25% and 40% of the settlement or judgment. For example, if the lawsuit settles for $10 million and the lawyer’s fee is 30%, the lawyer would receive $3 million, and the remaining $7 million would be distributed to the class members.
  • Court costs and expenses: In addition to the contingency fee, the lawyer will deduct the costs associated with the lawsuit, such as court filing fees, expert witness fees, and investigation costs. These costs are usually reimbursed from the settlement or award.
  • No cost if the case is lost: If the class action lawsuit is unsuccessful, you typically won’t owe any legal fees or costs. The lawyer assumes the financial risk of the case.

It’s important to discuss potential costs and fee structures with your lawyer before the case proceeds to ensure transparency and avoid any surprises.

Top Questions to Ask a Class Action Lawyer

Before hiring a class action lawyer, you should ask key questions to ensure they have the experience and skills needed to handle your case effectively. Key questions to ask include:

  1. What experience do you have with class action lawsuits?
Ensure the lawyer has a successful track record of handling class action cases, particularly in the area of law relevant to your case (e.g., consumer fraud, employment, defective products).
  2. How do you charge for your services?
Confirm that the lawyer charges a contingency fee, and ask for a detailed explanation of what percentage they charge and how expenses will be handled.
  3. What are the chances of success in my case?
Ask the lawyer for an honest assessment of the strengths and weaknesses of your case and the likelihood of certification as a class action.
  4. How long will the process take?
Class action lawsuits can take time to resolve, so ask the lawyer how long they expect the case to last, from certification to settlement or trial.
  5. Will I need to appear in court?
Ask if your participation will be required in court or whether the lawyer will handle most aspects of the case on behalf of the class.
  6. What is the expected settlement or recovery?
Ask about potential outcomes, including the expected settlement or damages, and how compensation will be distributed among class members.
  7. What happens if the case is lost?
Confirm that you won’t owe any legal fees or expenses if the case is unsuccessful.

How to Check the Credibility of a Class Action Lawyer

To ensure you are hiring a reputable class action lawyer, take the following steps to verify their credentials and experience:

  • Verify their bar status: Check with your state bar association to confirm that the lawyer is licensed to practice law and has no history of disciplinary actions.
  • Look for class action experience: Review the lawyer’s website or professional profile to ensure they specialize in class action cases and have successfully handled cases similar to yours.
  • Read client reviews and testimonials: Look for reviews on platforms like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, or Google to see what previous clients have said about the lawyer’s professionalism and success rate in class action lawsuits.
  • Ask for references: A reputable lawyer should be able to provide references from past clients who have been involved in class action cases.
  • Check for certifications or memberships: Membership in organizations like the American Association for Justice (AAJ) or specific class action sections can indicate the lawyer’s expertise in handling large-scale litigation.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To get the most out of your first consultation with a class action lawyer, it’s important to come prepared with relevant information and documents. Here’s what you should bring:

  • Details of the harm you’ve experienced: Provide a clear explanation of the harm or damages you’ve suffered, whether it’s a defective product, financial loss, or harm due to employment violations.
  • Evidence of the issue: Bring any documents, emails, receipts, contracts, or photos that support your claim. If others have experienced the same harm, gather their testimonies or contact information if possible.
  • Information about the responsible party: If you know which company, organization, or government entity is responsible, bring any information you have about them, including names, addresses, or prior legal actions.
  • Questions about the process: Prepare a list of questions about the class action process, your potential role in the lawsuit, and what you can expect in terms of outcomes and timelines.
  • Contact information for other potential class members (if available): If you know others who have been similarly affected, provide their contact information so the lawyer can assess whether they may join the class action.

By preparing thoroughly for your consultation, you can help the lawyer evaluate your case effectively and provide the best legal guidance for pursuing a class action lawsuit.
