So, I normally do not write reviews, especially for deeply personal services such as they provide, however my experience with these people was so poor I felt it particularly important to share.
If you are interested in the details I will provide them below, but I want to sum it up first as most of us do not read entire reviews. I hired these people on Monday Dec 16thand fired them 7 days later. There were two reasons: 1) Communication was worse than poor and 2) the assigned lawyer put more effort into arguing with me than he did in preparing the document I instructed him to write. They were given a chance to correct both mistakes and instead gave me a full refund of the retainer without even so much as an apology. I was left completely stunned by their utter lack of commitment, conviction, and even basic knowledge of the law. This man, and this firm should be completely embarrassed by this.
The full story:
I conducted interviews with multiple firms, this company was my second choice. I was clear during my interviews exactly what the situation was, what my expectations were and what my goals were. Every firm I spoke with all said the same thing “absolutely no problem “. I was told on on Wednesday the 11th during the interview with this firm that lawyer a would be a good fit. I paid the retainer on the following Monday and was immediately told that lawyer a was no longer available. I was assigned to lawyer b, who I immediately made an appointment with. This was Monday afternoon.
On Tuesday Mr. B called me 1.25 hours early, where we had (what I thought to be) a productive conversation. He said he would pull what he needed from public records and get back to me with the documents as well as a “strategy” within a couple of days.
At nearly 4:30 on Friday afternoon (after I complained that he had not reached out) Mr. B sent me an email where he lectured me about positioning, then he stated he was not able to pull the document he needed. In my response email I pointed out what he was arguing was not even relevant to the situation, then I asked him why he waited to ask for the document. I also pointed out that not only does the law entitles me to exactly what I’m asking for, but every lawyer I asked including his boss disagrees with his opinion of the situation. I gave Mr. B 4 hours to do what he was hired to do, with a deadline of noon on Monday the 23rd. I also called his boss and leaving a voicemail requesting to speak with her Monday morning.
Monday Dec 23 at 2 pm I called the boss, got voicemail again and told her it might be time to start talking about a refund. I then sent Mr. B, the boss and the paralegal an email saying time was up and I had seen no effort at all. I asked why I shouldn’t fire him.
I never received any response from Mr. B, his paralegal or the boss. I did however get an email from someone to process the refund less then one hour after the email sent to Mr. B. Had the money back before the end of the day on Monday.
Please do not hire these people. Mr. B was the second choice of my second choice, and I’m so thankful he showed me his incompetence before he even reached out to opposing counsel. The utter stupidity and incompetence was overwhelming to say the least. I feel so sorry for anyone who is foolish enough to hire them. The only good thing is they didn’t charge me for the 30 minute phone call or that poorly thought-out email, most likely in hopes that I wouldn’t share my story

I used them for a family matter and things went just fine, then we wanted to utilize their services for estate planning. We met with our attorney, she ended up leaving and we were never notified. She billed our retainer for thousands prior to leaving and not only we were never notified they just sent emails requesting to replenish our retainer. Six months later someone finally calls and I explain the situation and simply ask to be made whole so we can continue the work that never started. They refused, for 4 months I was passed around between paralegals until finally requesting a refund of the remaining retainer. No invoices were provided, no work and nothing to show for the money spent. I have 4 attorney offices in retainer for other needs and never have I had such a bad experience. Find a boutique firm with a reputable track record.

I hired Attorney Matt Patton in July of 2023 to help me with my divorce. From the very first moment I met Matt, he was not only professional and knowledgeable, but he made me feel supported, empowered, understood, and at ease. What should have taken a few months to process took over a year because of things outside both of our control. Matt was there for me every step of the way and felt my frustrations as his own. He did everything in his power to get this handled for me quickly and efficiently.
Throughout, Matt was communicative, kind, and represented me with integrity and grit. One of the more notable parts of Matt’s representation of me was whenever we had mediations or hearings in front of the Court, he stood up for me in ways that I have never been able to do for myself. To have a lawyer like that in my corner meant more to me than words can describe. I can honestly say that I would not have been able to make it through this process without him.
Matt was able to get me everything I asked for and more. For the high level of representation I received, and for the care he gave to me and my case from the beginning to the end (especially in such an emotionally charged and delicate situation), Matt was worth every penny I spent to hire him as my lawyer. I could not give him a higher recommendation.

Worked extensively with Charles on a business deal. His expertise in contracts, and experience with the grind of business deals was able to get me a better deal than I initially thought I would.
He was willing to work the hours needed to close the deal- nights, weekends, whatever. Was really happy to have his help on this.

I worked with a Jones and Keller attorney (Brad Hamilton) to negotiate a commercial lease for my gym. I am brand new to the commercial leasing side, so at $500/hour, I expected a bulletproof lease. Brad did not include any language around exclusivity of services in the building, nor did he offer it as something we might want to include. I paid his rate willingly, expecting him to surface potential problems. My landlord has since allowed another gym to move in next door to me.
Brad was more interested in telling me about how much he does CrossFit than taking care of my lease and my needs. He has been radio silent and won’t respond to phone calls and emails. He’s probably too busy telling people about how fast his Fran time is. 0/10, would not recommend. This guy is a joke.

A cesspool of legal malpractice. I watched several parents go through agonizing ordeals despite ORPC being aware (and failing to intervene). Lots of embedded institutional bias, particularly towards Hispanic clients. In my opinion, ORPC needs a leadership change and more judicial scrutiny.

I was trying to get in contact with then for 4 weeks regarding my lawyer and I only got a response after leaving nasty voice-mail on their general mailbox. Once I got in contact with them they fairly quickly reached out to my lawyer and he became response after that so I do appreciate that. But then after I needed to speak with them again I've called 5 times and I'm still awaiting a call back. It's very frustrating.

Attorney (I feel embarrassed even calling him that) Rechard Tegtmeier frequently made excuses and exhibited a lack of diligence in handling my case. Throughout the duration of my interactions with Tegtmeier, I found his behavior to be extremely inappropriate and disrespectful. I had to tell him to withdraw and had a different attorney represent me. He consistently came across as rude and displayed a clear disdain towards individuals of color, including myself. Despite my attempts to maintain professionalism and cooperation, I could sense an underlying prejudice in his demeanor towards me.
It became evident to me, and subsequently to others in similar situations, that his representation was marred by discrimination against minority groups. I have since learned that I am not the only individual who has felt marginalized and mistreated by Tegtmeier's actions.

I tried to contact this attorney for help in a important legal issue I have and he couldn't even spare 5mins of his time to reply to me or talk to me. I definitely would not recommend this attorney if he cant spare a single minute to talk to a possible client why should you trust him to represent you?

Bruce Rohde has represented me, my corporation and my real estate business since 1984. We have never lost in court or settlement. I started with him in his early days and watched as he became one of the top Denver laywers based on the size of the judgments and wins he has accomplished. I would say his best feature is that he listens and never forgets a detail. He will recall something I said 20 years ago. Kind of creepy- in a good way.
In the only trial in which I was a defendant, every asset I owned was at risk. During 5 days of testimony, mostly lies by the plaintiffs, Mr. Rohde absolutely blew one witness after another up on the stand, and after I won, the court's staff came up to him and said it was the best performance they had ever seen. The jury agreed. You will not go wrong with Bruce Rohde.

Most times when you hire a defense attorney, chances are it is not for a pleasant situation. What made it a lot more enjoyable was the professionalism of this law firm! Every single staff member that I met was extremely professional and friendly.
I had the pleasure working with them for approximately one year. Anytime I emailed or called, they responded in a timely manner. They explained the whole process and answered all my questions. They are extremely knowledgeable and amazing at what they do!
I can not thank Max, Marianne and Hailey enough for all their hardwork and dedication!!!
If you find yourself in a situation where you need a defense attorney, hire the best! If you want the best, then hire this law firm!

I hired Matt Wolf, Jennifer Schlatter and Bailey Pompea, all with Allen Vellone Wolf Law Firm to represent me in a civil case. Leading up to trial, they recommended that I file additional charges on top of my original claim because, they said, the defendants responses in discovery proved their guilt, in writing, on these additional charges.
The legal work to prepare multiple claims resulted in attorneys fees exceeding $80,000 just to get to mandated pretrial mediation.
At mediation, all three lawyers at Allen Vellone had no argument prepared to defend my case. My attorneys did not understand, and could not defend, my original complaint. They offered no argument at all to support the additional complaints that they had recommended. The defendant's attorneys destroyed Allen Vellone in all arguments. The mediator ruled that I had no case on ANY of my claims. To have any chance of winning if I proceeded to trial, I needed to hire new attorneys. Since I could not afford to start over with new attorneys, I was forced to drop my claims. All of them!
But it gets worse:
At mediation, all three attorneys provided me with an estimate of my net legal costs through mediation for the entire team. I requested this so that I would be prepared to negotiate a settlement, if necessary. When I dropped my case after mediation, Allen Vellone billed me TWICE AS MUCH for mediation as they had verbally quoted. When I disputed the inflated amount, Allen Vellone said that they did not remember giving me an estimate. They still charged me an extra $10,000 to add to my losses, and to pad their pockets.
Wolf's, Schlatter's and Pompea's actions clearly show that they were not interested in giving me quality representation. All they cared about was running up their fees. First by adding claims that were subsequently thrown out. Secondly by jacking up their fees when my engagement with them was ending.
Instead of paying $50,000 to win a potential settlement of $200,000...
with Wolf, Schlatter and Pompea, I paid $80,000 to lose and and win NOTHING!

I hired Michael to put together a will and trust several years ago. He assured me his fees to do the work would cover any changes in the future. He specifically mentioned that a change in marital status would be covered.
The reason I give him a low rating is that he did not keep his promise. Several years later after getting married, he wanted to charge me full price to modify my will and trust. While I’m unsure if this is industry standard, it is irrelevant as he baited me with the promise of a comprehensive package. He specifically explained that the initial fee was high because it was a one time, lifetime fee.
The last thing I want when hiring an estate attorney is to be taken advantage of after I’m essentially “locked in”.
I spoke directly to Mr Meurer about this and he said he’d “cut me a deal” for the misunderstanding - which after comparing to other attorneys was more than double what they charged. Very frustrating.
Stay away from this operation!
