After 4 years of trying to resolve a tax issue with the IRS with no success, I involved my Congressman. After almost a year with him, zero was done to help us. I researched a tax attorney to help us after everything else had failed. I met with Julie Camden and within days she had not only helped us eliminate thousands of dollars in taxes owed she helped us resolve the entire problem in less than a week. The stress she took off our lives was incredible. Meeting her the first time she was so nice and supportive of the situation and really listened. She immediately got to work. Communication was incredible. We are forever grateful to her. Best attorney I’ve ever met, Thank you so much Julie!

I highly recommend Julie Camden for all family law matters. I have used her for several years and I can't say enough good things about her knowledge, expertise, tenacity and attention to detail. Her vast experience in family and tax law have been invaluable to me and my family. I consider her my friend and I would not think of using anyone else.

They do not handle civil litigation or civil rights claims. They do not seem to be interested in taking on any new cases at this time but will not openly make that comment instead it is you and your case they cannot represent at this time.

The team at RMRK provided us with the absolute best experience possible through a bad situation. They were extremely professional and well organized and explained all aspects of the legal strategy and process that we were going through. They were very fair to work with and obtained the best outcome for our family. We would highly recommend them to others and would work with them again in the future if needed.

I went to this law firm and asked if they had a criminal attorney. I found myself at 56 years old needing a criminal attorney because of a lie from an ex-girlfriend. I went in the receptionist said yes we have a criminal attorney that works for us. His name is Randy Fisher. Met me on a Sunday charge me $5000 flat rate I paid him in cash. I was short $460. They let me know within three days that I owe them more money. It wasn’t quite 5000 in cash. I immediately went in and paid it. Eight weeks later I was arrested while he was my lawyer and he told me I had nothing to worry about. I hadn’t seen my ex in 12 weeks. Randy Fisher told me I did not need to be at my first pre-trial that he would handle it. He then called me right after court started and said you need to be here. I was wrong. The Jud said you have to be here so I raced to the courthouse. By the time I got there, it was all over and talk to me outside the courts The next five pre-trials Randy postponed Because he had other clients that he had to deal with, he told me he was out of state during free trial On the fifth one, they denied the continuance on the fifth trial that he tried to postpone while he was in Disneyland with his Family He called me on the phone and told me I had a warrant for my arrest and it was his fault and he would take care of it not to go home until he called Then put me up in a hotel, which he paid for While in the hotel, he was on the phone with me pissed off that the courts denied his request after five other pre-trial extensions Because of him not me, I wanted this over with I am immediately Went and hired another attorney and had to spend $10,000 I told Mr. Randy Fisher that I hired another attorney. He got pissed off at me and charged me 5000 more dollars for him to stay on his attorney and he had to be lead attorney. Seems like he was more worried about being Tony then being my attorney and doing his job instead of postponing everything that came my way while he handled his NFL clients I went to his office at least five times complaining, but I didn’t think he was being a good attorney for me They told me that he doesn’t actually work for their company, but that is not what they told me when I went in. They had a criminal attorney. On Staff I went in and complained to the receptionist many times she said Randy kind of flies by the seat of his pants, but he’s got you Randy Fisher damn they got me killed in my front yard when the police came to arrest me after he said he had everything taken care of with the DA his words exactly I would never recommend this. They don’t what they say. They double their charges in the middle Of the case after giving you a flat rate. Then they his office did nothing but make excuses for Randy Fisher I’m putting this out there so nobody else gets screwed over by this company What cinnamon over within a year has now dragged to three years because for one year and 9 1/2 months all he did was continue continue continue telling me time was on my side Randy Fisher‘s words exactly Then he told me because they held me at gunpoint at my front yard. I would become a millionaire by suing the police How inaccurate he was again Also, I go to Michigan, Michigan, Michigan a lot I have a boat he told me not to ask for permission just to go and don’t get in any trouble. My second attorney I hired told me don’t ever leave the state again without the courts permission. He then asked the court if I could go to Michigan, my second attorney did and they said absolutely not. Mr. Johnson is not to be out of this state Randy told me I did not have to ask the courts permission. It’s easier to ask forgiveness than ask permission his words exactly. He. Let me go seven times to Michigan when that could’ve been a prison sentence itself. I highly don’t recommend this company They did nothing to help me. My second attorney had everything taken care of within 30 days of hiring him Randy two years nothing but continuances until they finally started denying his continuance because he asked for so many so he could handle his nfl Clie

Started out with good intentions seemed like was going to be good for my case but after a long drawn out go at it I soon realized I definitely cld have gotten at least same results without the money spent amd the outstanding balance remaining. Attorney allowed other party to lie on the stand and when I brought to his attention he told me that it was from 6 months ago and wasn't going to press the issue. When the temporary order had expired I told him to file motion to make permanent and was told we just got what we wanted 2 months ago we aren't going to run back cause we cld lose ground and at the end ended up having to return custody back to the other party. Then his negotiations always were in the favor of the other half until I became extremely irritated and told him where I stood only to get billed an additional 2200ish after was said and done. I feel as if I have been misrepresented because of these things along with some others. I do NOT recommend using in a family court matter because I do not feel like you will get the representation needed or deserved for the amount charged.

Working with Justin on my medical malpractice case was an absolute pleasure, his confidence and willingness to see things through brought the best result me and my family could have hoped for after I was injured . I highly recommend Justin to anyone out there seeking help in their own case. The staff of Cohen & Malad and in specific, Skylar were absolutely amazing and very knowledgeable, helpful and determined to always answer any concerns I had at anytime for whatever reason . They responded quickly to every email and phone call. My overall experience in this difficult time was completely kept positive and informative thus easing my mind and stress knowing that they had my back !

I highly recommend this law firm for any malpractice / wrongful death needs. They were respectful and professional. They worked tirelessly and diligently to help us resolve the death of our loved one. They never once made us feel that this was just a dollar amount to win for them- they fought for our case up until the final day. The communication skills from the attorneys to the support staff is impeccable and support staff went above and beyond on our behalf. I pray that I would never need this type of service again, but if I did, I would return to Cohen and Malad immediately.

I believe Josh Tatum and Peter Racher are unethical attorneys. I strongly warn all prospective clients to stay away from these attorneys; find someone else to help you! As I have ran the case details by several prominent attorneys, we feel that this can be proved in both a legal case and complaint with the State Board against Josh Tatum, Peter Racher and their Firm (PSRB). Briefly, I hired a partner attorney (Shelley Jackson) at the Law Firm, Plews Shadley Racher & Braun (PSRB) regarding an employment discrimination case. Shelley extensively reviewed the case and contacted the opposing attorney to negotiate a settlement agreement. Shelley then suddenly resigned from the Firm in the middle of the negotiations to take a position at a different company and handed the case over to an associate attorney (Josh Tatum) at the Firm. Josh did not know the details of the case well at all and it disturbed me greatly especially given that I had paid a very large amount of legal fees (18k) to the original partner attorney to know the case well. I was nervous at this point given my discussions and correspondence with Josh and his lack of understanding of the case and so I spent some extra time with him before he made contact with the opposing attorney to ensure he was up to speed as much as possible at least on the important details of the case. I asked Josh if he would listen to the audio of various meetings and review emails that I had already paid the original partner to listen to and review; Josh responded that he would have to re-charge me to do those things. Then he contacted the opposing attorney and made a huge mistake during negotiations in suggesting that we were ok with no non-disparagement clause. He also tells me the opposing counsel did not agree to the main items of the agreement as the partner attorney stated they did before she left the Firm. I immediately halted all activity with the PSRB Law Firm and contacted the managing partner (Peter Racher) and expressed my numerous concerns. I told Peter and the Firm that I would hold off on paying any outstanding invoices until everything was satisfactorily resolved. Peter stated he would get back to me. Weeks and weeks went by, still no response. Eventually, Josh forwarded me correspondence from the opposing counsel and during that time I found out from Josh that PSRB had terminated our attorney-client relationship and would not be representing me any longer. They advised me to seek successor counsel. The managing partner eventually wrote me a 1.5-page letter not stating much but that he investigated my concerns, reiterating that our attorney-client relationship had ended, and that they would not be refunding me any fees paid and basically good luck.

My wife & I engaged Grubbs Law office to "get our affairs in order". Robert is personable, extremely knowledgeable, and worked within our time constraints. Mr Grubbs seems to be the ultimate or consumate legal professional! He was highly recommended to us. He & his staff were friendly and easy to work with. Robert was able to answer all of our questions, guide, educate us and keep us focused regarding our individual wills, powers of attorney and healthcare directives. Once we finally made the decision to engage Robert Grubbs the whole process was actually easy and the time was efficiently utilized - I very much appreciated that. I highly recommend him to my family, my friends, and anyone who is seeking a will, power of attorney, healthcare directive or related questions. I think may be worth mentioning my wife & I are not the easiest people to work with regarding the above and our work schedules.

Having to pay for your lawyer's time before you hire them seems a bit weird. What if don't like them or don't accept your case they waste both your time and money now. I guess they don't think they are that good and need that money. They also think their time is far more valuable than yours as the response below implies.

I am beyond grateful for the exceptional legal services provided by the Lawyer Office of Sola Egunyomi in facilitating the approval of my wife’s change of status. From the very first consultation, Attorney Egunyomi exhibited a level of professionalism and expertise that immediately put me at ease. What truly stood out was his attention to detail. He took the time to thoroughly understand our case, ensuring that every form was meticulously filled out, and every document was in order. He did not overlook even the smallest detail, which played a crucial role in the success of our application. Throughout the process, Attorney Egunyomi maintained clear and open communication. He explained complex legal concepts in a way that was easy to understand, alleviating the stress and confusion that often comes with such daunting cases. His ability to articulate the nuances of our case, combined with his calm demeanor and reassurances, was invaluable. Though we initially got a RFE, his courteous approach made us feel comfortable and confident that our case was in the right hands. Attorney Egunyomi’s commitment to securing the approval for my wife’s change of status was evident, and I am truly thankful for his tireless efforts in ensuring everything went smoothly. Thanks to his dedication, we received approval, and I couldn’t have asked for a better attorney to handle such a critical matter. I highly recommend Attorney Egunyomi to anyone in need of a reliable, professional, and compassionate legal assistance. He is way better than the best?

I have been with Grant & Grant Attorneys for over 20 years, and now specifically with Blake Orner. They have worked thru some very difficult areas of my personal and business needs. I have never found need to second guess their documents and advise. I have been in the past, and now very pleased and put at peace with all documents. I highly recommend their services. Nicholas K. I can't say enough about how impressed I have been with Roberts legal representation. He helped me out with a debt collection suit in Marion County and I found him to be extremely knowledgeable. It was difficult for me to find an attorney to represent me in this matter but he thoroughly reviewed my case and answered the many questions I had. I appreciated his candor and the fact that he did not attempt to create unrealistic expectations. He then proceeded to provide great counsel and results. He went above and beyond what was necessary and stipulated at the outset of our contractual agreement. I also found his fees to be very reasonable which is always important. I would highly recommend him and will certainly retain his services in the future of necessary.

I did not have a good experience with this firm. For years I paid high legal fees for proper legal structure and protection of assets. I found out later that the structure that they charged me for was not effective. Also, if you are referred to this firm by a financial planner or insurance agent, ask more questions about their relationship.

Mr. Drendall was easy to work with and he resolved my case at a reasonable price. He came recommended from a past client of his. I was overwhelmed and confused by the whole process and he explained everything clearly so that I understood all possible outcomes and challenges to my divorce case. He answered all my questions as well and moved as quickly as he could in the process. I would recommend in the future.

I hired Stephen Drendall for a Child Custody and Child Support Case. He talked a good game in the beginning but as time went on he became less responsive and did not file paperwork in a timely fashion as asked. Weeks would go by with no updates. He would send out correspondence concerning my case and did not copy me or update me on the case so I had no idea what was going on. I attempted more than once to try and clarify things and to get him to work my case in a competent manner. After doing so he just became less responsive and more careless. Please do your research before hiring this Attorney.

Will not recommend this firm. They charge attorney time for sending approval letters, confirming your home address etc for petitions that they filed and charged for filing fee already. They have a lot of hidden costs which quickly keeps adding up.

What a Consumer Protection Lawyer Can Do for You

A consumer protection lawyer specializes in safeguarding individuals from unfair, deceptive, or fraudulent business practices. These lawyers advocate for the rights of consumers in disputes with businesses, helping clients recover damages related to fraud, defective products, false advertising, or violation of consumer protection laws. They work to enforce laws that prevent businesses from taking advantage of consumers and ensure that businesses adhere to fair practices.

Whether you’ve been the victim of a scam, sold a faulty product, or misled by false advertising, a consumer protection lawyer can help you navigate legal options and pursue justice.

When Should I Hire a Consumer Protection Lawyer?

You should consider hiring a consumer protection lawyer when you’ve encountered unfair or illegal business practices and need legal assistance to resolve the situation. Common scenarios include:

  • Fraud or deceptive business practices: If a company misled you into purchasing a product or service under false pretenses, a lawyer can help you seek compensation.
  • Defective products: If you purchased a product that was unsafe or defective and caused harm, a lawyer can help you file a product liability claim.
  • False advertising or unfair pricing: A lawyer can assist if you were misled by deceptive advertising or charged for services or products in a way that violates consumer laws.
  • Debt collection harassment: If you're being harassed by debt collectors or are facing illegal debt collection practices, a consumer protection lawyer can enforce your rights under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA).
  • Credit report issues: If errors on your credit report are affecting your financial standing, a lawyer can help you resolve disputes with credit reporting agencies or creditors under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA).
  • Predatory lending practices: If you've been subjected to unfair loan terms or practices by payday lenders or mortgage companies, a lawyer can help you challenge the loan and seek a resolution.
  • Data breaches or identity theft: If your personal information was compromised due to a company’s failure to protect your data, a lawyer can help you recover damages related to the breach.

What Does a Consumer Protection Lawyer Do?

A consumer protection lawyer provides a wide range of services to help protect consumers' rights and seek compensation for harms caused by businesses. Their role may include:

  • Filing lawsuits: Representing clients in lawsuits against businesses that have violated consumer protection laws, whether through fraud, deceptive practices, or negligence.
  • Negotiating settlements: Working with businesses or their insurers to negotiate fair compensation for damages caused by unfair practices or defective products.
  • Pursuing class action lawsuits: When a company harms multiple consumers, a lawyer can represent a group of plaintiffs in a class action lawsuit, seeking collective damages.
  • Advising on consumer rights: Helping clients understand their rights under various consumer protection laws and advising on the best course of action.
  • Handling product liability claims: Representing clients who have been injured by defective products and holding manufacturers or retailers accountable for the harm caused.
  • Defending against debt collection harassment: Enforcing the rights of consumers under the FDCPA and other laws that protect individuals from abusive or unlawful debt collection tactics.
  • Resolving credit report disputes: Helping clients correct errors on their credit reports that may be causing financial harm or affecting their creditworthiness.

How Are Consumer Protection Lawyers Paid?

Consumer protection lawyers typically use different fee structures depending on the complexity of the case and the type of legal work required. Common payment methods include:

  • Contingency fee: For many consumer protection cases, such as class actions or product liability claims, lawyers may work on a contingency fee basis. This means they only get paid if they win or settle the case, taking a percentage (typically between 25% and 40%) of the awarded amount.
  • Hourly rate: For more complex cases or ongoing legal disputes, some lawyers charge by the hour. Hourly rates can range from $150 to $500 or more, depending on the lawyer’s experience and location.
  • Flat fee: For specific services, such as reviewing a contract or filing a small claim, a lawyer may charge a flat fee that covers all the necessary legal work.
  • Retainer fee: For clients needing ongoing legal assistance, some lawyers may charge a retainer fee, which is an upfront payment that is billed against as the lawyer works on the case.

It’s important to discuss fees upfront with your lawyer to understand how you’ll be charged and to avoid unexpected costs.

How Much Does a Consumer Protection Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a consumer protection lawyer depends on the complexity of the case, the lawyer’s experience, and the type of legal service required. General cost estimates include:

  • Contingency fee cases: For cases handled on a contingency basis, the lawyer typically takes between 25% and 40% of any settlement or damages awarded.
  • Hourly rates: Hourly rates for consumer protection lawyers generally range from $150 to $500, with higher rates for more experienced attorneys or cases involving complex legal issues.
  • Flat fees: For specific services like contract reviews or handling a small claims case, flat fees may range from $500 to $2,000, depending on the scope of work.
  • Class actions: In class action cases, fees are often paid out of the settlement or damages awarded, and individual plaintiffs usually do not have to pay upfront.

Make sure to ask for a clear estimate of costs during your initial consultation to avoid surprises and to understand how much you can expect to pay.

Top Questions to Ask a Consumer Protection Lawyer

Before hiring a consumer protection lawyer, it’s important to ask questions to ensure they have the experience and skills to handle your case effectively. Key questions include:

  1. What experience do you have with consumer protection law?
Ensure the lawyer has specific experience handling cases like yours, whether it involves product liability, fraud, or debt collection issues.
  2. How do you charge for your services?
Clarify whether the lawyer charges by the hour, a flat fee, or a contingency fee, and ask for an estimate of the total cost of your case.
  3. What is the likelihood of success for my case?
Ask the lawyer for an honest assessment of your case and what outcome you can reasonably expect.
  4. Have you handled cases like mine before?
Make sure the lawyer has experience dealing with similar legal issues, whether it’s credit report disputes, data breaches, or defective products.
  5. What is the timeline for resolving my case?
While it can be difficult to predict exact timelines, the lawyer should give you a general idea of how long your case may take to resolve.
  6. Will you handle my case personally?
In larger firms, junior attorneys or paralegals may handle parts of your case, so it’s important to know who will be working on your claim.

How to Check the Credibility of a Consumer Protection Lawyer

To ensure you are hiring a reputable consumer protection lawyer, take the following steps to verify their credentials and track record:

  • Verify their bar status: Check with your state bar association to confirm that the lawyer is licensed to practice and has no history of disciplinary actions.
  • Check for experience in consumer protection: Review the lawyer’s website or professional profile to confirm they specialize in consumer protection law and have handled cases similar to yours.
  • Read client reviews and testimonials: Look for client reviews on platforms like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, or Google to see what previous clients have said about the lawyer’s professionalism and success rate.
  • Ask for references: A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their ability to handle consumer protection cases.
  • Look for industry affiliations: Membership in organizations like the National Association of Consumer Advocates (NACA) can indicate that the lawyer is committed to protecting consumer rights.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To get the most out of your first consultation with a consumer protection lawyer, come prepared with all relevant documents and information. Here’s what you should bring:

  • Details of the product or service in question: Bring any purchase receipts, warranties, or contracts related to the product or service involved in your claim.
  • Documentation of your complaint: Provide evidence of your complaint, such as email exchanges with the company, photos of a defective product, or a timeline of events related to the dispute.
  • Communication with the business or debt collector: If you’ve communicated with the business or debt collector, bring copies of letters, emails, or phone logs.
  • List of questions: Write down any questions you have about the legal process, costs, and potential outcomes for your case.
  • Information on damages: Be prepared to discuss any financial losses or harm you’ve suffered as a result of the unfair business practices, including medical bills, lost wages, or emotional distress.

By preparing thoroughly for your consultation, you can help the lawyer understand your situation more effectively and get the best possible legal advice on how to proceed with your case.
