It was a pleasure meeting with attorney Amy Tripp. She is very easy to communicate with, she listens to what you have to say and gives you an honest answer. Attorney Amy Tripp takes her time to address our concerns and priorities and explains things so we could understand. She is very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. I have alot of confidence and trust in her abilities. She is handling our estate planning and Trust, she is extremely familiar with ssi rules and regulations. The entire staff is tremendously helpful and nice. It's worth the price for a piece of mind knowing it will be done right. I would highly recommend her and her Law firm

I can’t praise Amy and her staff enough. Amy helped me get my will in order after my husband died, and set up a trust for our autistic son. While in the trust process, Amy discovered that he was not receiving the services for which he was entitled. Dealing with the government agencies to get him all set up can be a nightmare – which Amy’s social worker, Megan, took on. Megan had the knowledge, resources, and persistence to jump in and take care of business! Now he is all set, and I have a caring, knowledgeable team for support. Worth every single penny for that kind of peace of mind.

I've had the privilege of working with Mark Sisson and his law firm on multiple occasions, and each time, I've been thoroughly impressed by the level of care and dedication they've shown towards my family's cases. Mark is not just an exceptionally skilled attorney; he's a compassionate individual who genuinely cares about the people he represents. From the outset, it was evident that Mark was committed to achieving the best possible outcomes for us. He listened to our concerns with empathy, explained complex legal matters in understandable terms, and was always transparent about the process. His commitment to justice and his clients' well-being is palpable, making what could have been a stressful experience much more manageable. Moreover, Mark's fighting spirit in the courtroom is admirable. He's tenacious, well-prepared, and always has his clients' best interests at heart. It's this combination of personal warmth, professional excellence, and a genuine desire to make a positive difference in people's lives that sets Mark and his firm apart. I wholeheartedly recommend Mark Sisson Law Firm to anyone in need of legal representation. Not only will you find a highly competent attorney, but also a good-hearted individual who treats his clients like family. If you're looking for someone who will fight for you with both skill and sincerity, Mark is the person to call

My father and I were Mark Sisson's client's. After we became his clients it was very difficult trying to get a hold of him for months, there was a strong lack of communication a year later my father passed away and this Law firm did not hold one deposition on his behalf to fight for him.

I have a Traumatic brain injury, so I truly hope that I am reviewing Mark on the under the correct attorney. I hired Mark Sisson because I was a broken, well educated, established woman that found herself in a position of being completely alone in this world after a horrible accident. Worse yet, the accident was my fault and I was the only car involved (Thank God I didn't hurt anyone else). I called the 1800 call sam phone number when I was lost, in the middle of the night- one of seemingly endless that sleep was out of the question. What I learned: 1. To trust him. When he said he had my best interests at heart, he meant it. 2. I was able/am able to back off and allow him to do his job- and that is scary when we don't know if our attorney's are doing the right thing or if they care. Mark does. He has a heart. He is kind and he WILL NOT LET YOU DOWN. 3. I did not know this man prior to hiring him to representing me. Now, did "I get a ton of cash?" No. But it was FAIR. And most importantly, my car insurance has to pay for expenses caused by the accident FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE. I did not understand the value of this until I really broke down and looked at the numbers. If you have been hurt, I could not think of a better attorney to represent and fight HARD for your best interests.

My siblings and I unexpectedly and tragically lost our parent and required probate services. Amidst tremendous grief and shock, we met with Ms. Arends for an initial appointment to see what this lawyer is about and what we need to do to go through probate. My siblings and I had never worked with a lawyer before as we are young adults and could barely process any information as we were in such shock from this unexpected death of our parent. Before we knew what was happening, as we were never asked if indeed we even wanted to go with Ms. Arends as our probate lawyer, we were signing papers. We should not have, we didn't know what we were dong, but we thought, "It's okay at least its one less thing to deal with right now." First, Ms. Arends assumed we were going with her as our lawyer and even charged us for the initial appointment. Second, probate proceeding took much longer than necessary. Because probate paperwork was taking weeks for the office to put together, we had to keep calling to see where proceedings were at and the progress being made. This resulted in numerous charges from office personnel simply because we wanted to know why it was taking weeks for probate to be filed when they said it would take only a week; we desperately needed access to banks and accounts to be able to deal with the estate's needs. We feel as though it took unnecessarily long for Ms. Arends to draw up paperwork for probate filing, that we should not have had to wait weeks for it to be filed, and that we should not have been charged for every twice a week call to check if Ms. Arends is doing her job in filing probate in a timely manner. Once we had waited a month and she had still not filed probate papers, we decided to go with another lawyer. For comparison, this lawyer filed probate proceedings within a day. All in all, this experience left us with a large bill for no probate filings or estate assistance.

Jessica prepared estate planning documents for my wife and I: a will, a general durable power of attorney, and a durable power of attorney for healthcare for each of us. She also prepared and filed a warranty deed for our residence with a transfer on death provision. Jessica was knowledgeable, thorough, helpful and easy to work with. We would work with her again if we needed legal advice.

He is punctual, and excellent with communication. He also uses the best, up to date legal software which helped me stay involved with my case from beginning to end. Do not waste your time and money on this guy and his helper. Once they get your money they will not answer your calls to keep you updated on your case so you will have to travel to them if you want answers and 9 out of 10 times they don't know what's going on and will just tell you to wait a little longer. The place is a mess and they can't find anything, they might even lose your paperwork and you'll have to gather it more than once. More than likely you will lose your case because this guy doesn't follow up to see it through. Two people I personally know, plus myself have lost our case because of this excuse of a lawyer.

Please do your research before hiring an immigration lawyer! We decided to reach out to Taft Law regarding an E2 business visa. We were told during our consultation that it would be around $6-8000. We talked it over and decided to go with them. We had a few more questions about the process in the next following days and we had told them we were going to go through with it and pay a retainer. After the first initial email we got from them me and my wife decided that we were no longer interested in pursuing that visa. Not because of the law firm but we decided that it was too risky of business for us and decided not to proceed. I sent them an email saying I was sorry and no longer wanted to proceed and apologized for wasting there time and that I was going to pay them for there time they had spent on our file. We had a 45 min consultation, a 15 min phone call followed by a 20 minute phone call. We had no idea that every second of each phone call was being billed out at $480/hour. Long story short they charged us $1740 for a Zoom Consultation, 2 phone calls and an email. And they said that price included things that they didn’t charge for as well, as if they were giving us a break at that price. I feel like they threw the charges at us only because we were no longer working with them. They quoted us 6-8k for the visa and they did about 5% of the work and billed us $1740? Something doesn’t add up. Unfair billing practices! I don’t expect them to work for FREE but $1740 for an email, 2 phone calls and a consultation is ridiculous. I would highly suggest you go elsewhere where they are more transparent with their prices. We are out the $1740 but it’s probably best as there quote of 6-8k would probably end up being 10-14k.

I was fortunate enough to work with Ms. Frawley on a case where a client, while under an 'exclusive buyer agency contract', proceeded to buy a property directly from the listing agent. This action deprived me of my entitled commission after 4 months of hard work, 30 showings and 3 offers... My file was submitted to Rachael's firm by my corporate office first and then from the minute we met, Rachael was prepared, detailed, clear and most of all passionate about her work. Throughout the process, Rachael was always a few steps ahead of the game and 'voila', the outcome was in our favor - accordingly the case was settled. She is hard working, organized and very pragmatic. without any doubt I recommend Ms. Frawley and her firm for effective results.

Paul's written argument is exceptional but in oral arguments his delivery is very poor at best. Case should have been easy dismissal due to poor officer testimony and complete lack of evidence. Prosecution delayed case by over a half year and sentence was for repeat offender for a first time offender. In comparison to other lawyers Paul was $5000 more expensive. His communication of progress with the case was extremely poor to the point of not hearing from him for months or allowing court to delay for months on end without any challenge or justification. Paul is a nice, decent guy but when it comes to important legal matters you don't need a decent guy you need someone that gets you results.

I owed the hospital for the birth of my son and some hospital bills for both my kids when they were really sick. I was served 2023 for part of it I paid it off in only a few months. I was served again this year for the rest of the amount I called right away and made arrangements and a payment. I missed a month they got a judgment to wipe out my whole account $1600. The next month I made another payment and couple days later found out they were now garnishing 25% of my checks. If I would have known I would have just not made a payment it’s pointless to even try. I tried talking to them and everything is my fault I didn’t return a document and they will just talk to you like you’re nothing. I didn’t remember needing to fill anything out and returning it I called and said I wanted to do this much a month and I got an okay. I remember calling the second month to make a payment and the lady told me you don’t have to call every month I can send you a link to pay and I started using the link.you have to be careful and keep track of all your receipts, I have a very bad memory and it could be me but I don’t remember missing any payments at all. Hopefully I don’t owe the hospital any more after this is done if I do I wont even bother trying they’re gonna just wipe you out anyways. I given them almost 3 thousand in the last two years and $1700 in the last two months and I have small children that are in daycare. At the end of the day I know I owe it but this is a lot in a short amount of time. Hopefully this helps someone else in a similar situation!

Not only did they garnish my wages TWICE after the debt was completely paid, but they refused to work with me in getting my refund sent to me! My debt was paid on August 23rd. They owe me nearly 2k and they told me a check was mailed to me on September 18th. I received a letter from them dates September 17th stating my debt has been paid in full, but it’s now October 1st and still no check. I’ve called a few times to follow up and they (various representatives and a supervisor) have legit spoken to me like I’m a POS, just very condescending and snippy. They said the mail delay is not their problem and there was nothing further they would do for me. I suggested some other options of getting my refund to me like direct deposit, cancelling the check and sending a new one, or I was willing to go in person to their office to pick up the check. They would lot work with me in any way. I’m disgusted with this place.

Also on that day, it seemed like the entire past of the US Army had possessed my spirit to chant the best possible cadence my lungs could muster. It's funny how there was a Green Beret on the bus as I joked about calling Capital One and threatening them for abusing their late payment fees immediately after I signed my contract.

Please, if you read this-and many other- review stating that Greenstone is terrible and not to get involved, BELIEVE THEM!!! Greenstone Legal Group is nothing but a scam, 100%. Yo make a long story short, we entered into an agreement with them to help negotiate some debt settlement and after 15 months of paying into the program…..nothing. We received several offers to settle or debt from the creditors which we promptly turned over to Greenstone only to have them do nothing. Then we received a summons from court after discovering that one of the creditors was suing us. We turned that promptly over to them also. Their whole spiel is that they are there to protect you from collection efforts while trying to negotiate settlements. Well they failed. Just recently we received a letter from the court stating that the creditor had won their case against us for “failure to contact the court or respond to the summons”. So basically, Greenstone did nothing! They keep about half the money that you send as “payment for services rendered” however, it is plain to see that they don’t actually render anything but lies. We have since canceled our agreement with them. We did get some money back but only about half of what we put in. And we negotiated directly with the creditors and had deals to pay half the original debt in one day. Wonder why Greenstone couldn’t have done that. I implore you to stay far far away from this group. They will tell you nothing but lies and rob you of your money.

Called to request a a payoff letter from them. The person I talked to would not let me get a word in kept cutting me off. Has happened every time I’ve tried to call and talk to a person about anything. Yes it’s a debt collector but no reason to be mean and unprofessional.

I understand where this is coming from, but whenever I tried to contact this office, I was only contacted twice by Debrah... I tried to work out a payment plan, but was unable to hand over a bank account number and I got about a month later, after I had called and my attorney had called, neither time did I get a response until I called myself multiple times, even then, she was blunt, unforgiving and pretty jack booting cut throat pirate like pretty much every cut rate "give me or else" collection company, honestly, if I could, I would disbar her for even lending her name to a firm like this... There was no communication... Which lead me to have no chance to defend myself or my position to a judge, just as Im sure they wanted it.

Gilbert Borman makes a lot of promises up front and he backs it up with tall tales of his many successes in the court room. But nothing could be farther from the truth. On my case, he did little to no work. The money I spent was wasted. Nothing said to me upfront transpired the way attorney Gilbert said it would. Attorney Gilbert Borman was a big disappointment and his ability to practice law should be avoided at all costs by the public.

I hired attorney Gilbert Borman awhile back. He is a member of the LGBT community and I met him at a rally. I hired him the following week after meeting him and listening to what he had to say. My case took 2 years to complete and the results were devastating to me. I will now have to pay the opposing side as opposed to them paying me. I would not recommend attorney Gilbert Borman

I met with attorney Borman at a coffee shop to discuss a dispute I was having with a vendor. I was taken for a lot of money. I did the work and my case was solid. Attorney Borman said he could get me over $100,000 dollars which was twice as much as I thought I deserved Soni said let's do it. I paid him his retainer and he said that would be the total fee 2 months later he kept asking for more and more money. I was stuck. He said he would leave the case if I did not pay him so I was so scared of him bullying me I paid and paid. The results of the case were I received less than half of what he kept telling me I would get. I was so disappointed. I later asked him several times to send me my documents back and to provide me with a work log of his time but he refuses. He won't take my phone calls and I just think that is wrong.

What a Consumer Protection Lawyer Can Do for You

A consumer protection lawyer specializes in safeguarding individuals from unfair, deceptive, or fraudulent business practices. These lawyers advocate for the rights of consumers in disputes with businesses, helping clients recover damages related to fraud, defective products, false advertising, or violation of consumer protection laws. They work to enforce laws that prevent businesses from taking advantage of consumers and ensure that businesses adhere to fair practices.

Whether you’ve been the victim of a scam, sold a faulty product, or misled by false advertising, a consumer protection lawyer can help you navigate legal options and pursue justice.

When Should I Hire a Consumer Protection Lawyer?

You should consider hiring a consumer protection lawyer when you’ve encountered unfair or illegal business practices and need legal assistance to resolve the situation. Common scenarios include:

  • Fraud or deceptive business practices: If a company misled you into purchasing a product or service under false pretenses, a lawyer can help you seek compensation.
  • Defective products: If you purchased a product that was unsafe or defective and caused harm, a lawyer can help you file a product liability claim.
  • False advertising or unfair pricing: A lawyer can assist if you were misled by deceptive advertising or charged for services or products in a way that violates consumer laws.
  • Debt collection harassment: If you're being harassed by debt collectors or are facing illegal debt collection practices, a consumer protection lawyer can enforce your rights under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA).
  • Credit report issues: If errors on your credit report are affecting your financial standing, a lawyer can help you resolve disputes with credit reporting agencies or creditors under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA).
  • Predatory lending practices: If you've been subjected to unfair loan terms or practices by payday lenders or mortgage companies, a lawyer can help you challenge the loan and seek a resolution.
  • Data breaches or identity theft: If your personal information was compromised due to a company’s failure to protect your data, a lawyer can help you recover damages related to the breach.

What Does a Consumer Protection Lawyer Do?

A consumer protection lawyer provides a wide range of services to help protect consumers' rights and seek compensation for harms caused by businesses. Their role may include:

  • Filing lawsuits: Representing clients in lawsuits against businesses that have violated consumer protection laws, whether through fraud, deceptive practices, or negligence.
  • Negotiating settlements: Working with businesses or their insurers to negotiate fair compensation for damages caused by unfair practices or defective products.
  • Pursuing class action lawsuits: When a company harms multiple consumers, a lawyer can represent a group of plaintiffs in a class action lawsuit, seeking collective damages.
  • Advising on consumer rights: Helping clients understand their rights under various consumer protection laws and advising on the best course of action.
  • Handling product liability claims: Representing clients who have been injured by defective products and holding manufacturers or retailers accountable for the harm caused.
  • Defending against debt collection harassment: Enforcing the rights of consumers under the FDCPA and other laws that protect individuals from abusive or unlawful debt collection tactics.
  • Resolving credit report disputes: Helping clients correct errors on their credit reports that may be causing financial harm or affecting their creditworthiness.

How Are Consumer Protection Lawyers Paid?

Consumer protection lawyers typically use different fee structures depending on the complexity of the case and the type of legal work required. Common payment methods include:

  • Contingency fee: For many consumer protection cases, such as class actions or product liability claims, lawyers may work on a contingency fee basis. This means they only get paid if they win or settle the case, taking a percentage (typically between 25% and 40%) of the awarded amount.
  • Hourly rate: For more complex cases or ongoing legal disputes, some lawyers charge by the hour. Hourly rates can range from $150 to $500 or more, depending on the lawyer’s experience and location.
  • Flat fee: For specific services, such as reviewing a contract or filing a small claim, a lawyer may charge a flat fee that covers all the necessary legal work.
  • Retainer fee: For clients needing ongoing legal assistance, some lawyers may charge a retainer fee, which is an upfront payment that is billed against as the lawyer works on the case.

It’s important to discuss fees upfront with your lawyer to understand how you’ll be charged and to avoid unexpected costs.

How Much Does a Consumer Protection Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring a consumer protection lawyer depends on the complexity of the case, the lawyer’s experience, and the type of legal service required. General cost estimates include:

  • Contingency fee cases: For cases handled on a contingency basis, the lawyer typically takes between 25% and 40% of any settlement or damages awarded.
  • Hourly rates: Hourly rates for consumer protection lawyers generally range from $150 to $500, with higher rates for more experienced attorneys or cases involving complex legal issues.
  • Flat fees: For specific services like contract reviews or handling a small claims case, flat fees may range from $500 to $2,000, depending on the scope of work.
  • Class actions: In class action cases, fees are often paid out of the settlement or damages awarded, and individual plaintiffs usually do not have to pay upfront.

Make sure to ask for a clear estimate of costs during your initial consultation to avoid surprises and to understand how much you can expect to pay.

Top Questions to Ask a Consumer Protection Lawyer

Before hiring a consumer protection lawyer, it’s important to ask questions to ensure they have the experience and skills to handle your case effectively. Key questions include:

  1. What experience do you have with consumer protection law?
Ensure the lawyer has specific experience handling cases like yours, whether it involves product liability, fraud, or debt collection issues.
  2. How do you charge for your services?
Clarify whether the lawyer charges by the hour, a flat fee, or a contingency fee, and ask for an estimate of the total cost of your case.
  3. What is the likelihood of success for my case?
Ask the lawyer for an honest assessment of your case and what outcome you can reasonably expect.
  4. Have you handled cases like mine before?
Make sure the lawyer has experience dealing with similar legal issues, whether it’s credit report disputes, data breaches, or defective products.
  5. What is the timeline for resolving my case?
While it can be difficult to predict exact timelines, the lawyer should give you a general idea of how long your case may take to resolve.
  6. Will you handle my case personally?
In larger firms, junior attorneys or paralegals may handle parts of your case, so it’s important to know who will be working on your claim.

How to Check the Credibility of a Consumer Protection Lawyer

To ensure you are hiring a reputable consumer protection lawyer, take the following steps to verify their credentials and track record:

  • Verify their bar status: Check with your state bar association to confirm that the lawyer is licensed to practice and has no history of disciplinary actions.
  • Check for experience in consumer protection: Review the lawyer’s website or professional profile to confirm they specialize in consumer protection law and have handled cases similar to yours.
  • Read client reviews and testimonials: Look for client reviews on platforms like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, or Google to see what previous clients have said about the lawyer’s professionalism and success rate.
  • Ask for references: A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their ability to handle consumer protection cases.
  • Look for industry affiliations: Membership in organizations like the National Association of Consumer Advocates (NACA) can indicate that the lawyer is committed to protecting consumer rights.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To get the most out of your first consultation with a consumer protection lawyer, come prepared with all relevant documents and information. Here’s what you should bring:

  • Details of the product or service in question: Bring any purchase receipts, warranties, or contracts related to the product or service involved in your claim.
  • Documentation of your complaint: Provide evidence of your complaint, such as email exchanges with the company, photos of a defective product, or a timeline of events related to the dispute.
  • Communication with the business or debt collector: If you’ve communicated with the business or debt collector, bring copies of letters, emails, or phone logs.
  • List of questions: Write down any questions you have about the legal process, costs, and potential outcomes for your case.
  • Information on damages: Be prepared to discuss any financial losses or harm you’ve suffered as a result of the unfair business practices, including medical bills, lost wages, or emotional distress.

By preparing thoroughly for your consultation, you can help the lawyer understand your situation more effectively and get the best possible legal advice on how to proceed with your case.
