His in-depth understanding of countering the legal office is what will win your case. Constitutional rights our forebearers fought for us to have. As service members, we have rights guaranteed by Law. We fight for what we have, and we have rights (even during our service). (Let this aforementioned statement emanate) Understanding this with a world class representation will save your good standing for the rest of your life. Decisions at this point are pivotal in a service members career. Given the due diligence to get to this point, It was not an easy feat nor decision, but it is one that saved my life. My initial impression of Ben Summit was that he did not respond very well in resolving conflict. This was because he was slow to respond. However, after having an extended discussion with him (He represents my brother, and I am acting as my own attorney) we had a good discussion of the facts. He was reasonable and easy to talk to. In fact he reminded me of the better Judges I interfaced with in several suits.

What a terrible lawyer. I paid $1250 for my case and sat around for 6 months with him telling me to just wait. He kept telling me to do work and then he would look at it and screw up the details as he was trying to edit it. I watched him type relevance and underscores below 11 pages of time line I wrote instead of copying and pasting for an hour and then I had to go back and delete the underscores because as most people know you can't type on top of them. I found out later he charged me $300 for that day. He also charged me for a lot of things that weren't in our contract when I got a bill for an additional $3000. I told him I wasn't paying it because I read the contract and he violated his own contract. Billing more for paralegal time and for phone calls he wasn't supposed to be talking to certain people. He said I was going to have to pay and I told him to sue me for it and I would win because he was a crappy lawyer and broke the contract. That was over a year ago and he hasn't gotten a penny from me. Then he told me he would sue me for libel if I left him a bad review. We'll guess what, challenge excepted. I'm leaving you a terrible review for you being a terrible lawyer who did nothing for me and in the end I was cleared because I was innocent and just sat down and spoke with the investigators and cleared my name against his advice. Almost $1300 down the drain for exactly 2 pages of handwritten notes that are illiterate saying don't do anything. Thanks but I could have done that for free. I wanted a lawyer to be with me by my side but he was always too busy. He would email and then you would respond and I saw he auto deleted your response. He wanted you to respond on a program even he didn't use. He was never available to answer your call and you would be told be his office he would call and then he wouldn't. Horribly unprofessional, unclean and disorganized office place. Find a lawyer that isn't such a wuss and know what they are doing. Go ahead, try sueing me and I'll make you look stupid.

I hired this attorney to file guardianship paperwork for my incapacitated brother. If I had to do it all over again I would not use this attorney and I would not recommend anyone use this attorney. My brother was homeless on the street and this attorney lagged in filing the paperwork to get the process started to get him off the street. He lied about filing the paperwork and when addressed with concerns his response was fire me. Paperwork was never filed until a month after he was hired. A week after a news story was aired on my brother. His team made it seem as if we were waiting for the court to issue a court date but when I called the court they confirmed nothing was ever filed. I was told that because the news story had aired they hoped it would light a fire and get the process started when in fact the whole time they failed to even file the paperwork. This whole time my brother was homeless on the street in very bad health. It’s one thing to be behind on your duties but it’s another thing to lie about it and then rectify the issue with saying fire me when you are addressed with the concerns. Fast forward to today we were notified by the court that the lawyer failed to follow up with required paperwork needed by the court in regards to the granted guardianship. I would not hire this lawyer again and thank god my brother is no longer in Hawaii and in very good health today.

I called Patrick McPherson after a vehicle theft incident. I was immediate answered by Patrick and not a secretary or someone that had to put me on hold. I told him the situation and gave him the details, he never once made me feel stupid and explained in an easily understandable what to do. He assisted me in reaching out to the police officers and I ended up getting my vehicle back the same day. He also gave me advice on what to do with my insurance and how to handle the situation. Lani knows the law in and out. Just showing up to court with her if there is the slightest hole in the case the prosecution will not want to go to trial and will settle or dissmiss it. Recently after her partner got me a deferral I was three weeks away from early termination when a cop gave me a cell phone ticket and decided to throw in a minor missdemeanor that would have kept me on probation for another year. Lani showed up to the court date and the prosecutor just tossed it!

I was young and stupid. I had accrued a hefty number of traffic related infractions. Parking tickets. Speeding. Suspended driver's license. No insurance. Multiple times each. I paid no heed to them and didn't even bother to go to court or pay fines. I added contempt of court to that. So, I left the islands and over the years got my act together. I got my masters. I got a job. I also wanted to fix my legal standing since I had the money. I consulted Ms. Gutierrez and received a thorough evaluation. She painstakingly gathered my decade and plus old profile and started creating a clear picture of what legal hurdles I had up against. I was impressed with her objective analysis. Just to be thorough, I consulted two other lawyers. They merely gave a half-hearted analysis and guarantee to fix everything, then a heavy price quote. One lawyer quoted for himself a practically blank check for his services. Neither inspired much confidence, despite the comparison between Ms. Gutierrez neutral and cautious analysis versus their more positive dispositions toward my cases. I went with her.
She outlined her plan to dismiss all of my cases. She outlined for me how to pay back some fines. She had my warrants dismissed (even the no-recall ones). She did an outstanding job. I am very pleased with her performance.

Tyson advised my family through a very sticky legal estate issue. He was incredibly responsive and thorough in answering questions, and gave sound advice. The job ended up being more complicated than anticipated, but the total amount was within the range that he had estimated because he was very clear in explaining "if X, then it could be about $5,000, but if Y and Z happen, it could run up to $15,000-20,000". The process of setting up a trust is just that, a process, and having someone who will take the time to sit, explain, answer questions, and then answer more questions as you go through the trust setup process is really important.
Keoni spent a lot of time with us, answering questions that came up along the way, gave us the guidance we needed to make sure we thought of everything and everyone involved. He was flexible is scheduling follow up meetings, due to our very hectic work & travel schedules, it took a few weeks longer then planned, but we are not done and feel better knowing we are on the right track.

If I could leave a zero-star review I would. This high-paid attorney double-downed on his already-heightened hourly rate, by bringing in a second attorney without disclosing it to his client. So we got a bill for two attorneys for one hour. $1000 an hour for “expertise” that didn’t help us at all highway robbery. He should be ashamed. Don’t let legalese talk you out of your own hard-earned money. Seek the aid of someone who actually cares about their clients. Auwe.

When you're dealing with things like DV and custody, the last thing you need is to be used and abused by your lawyer/firm, someone who is supposed to advocate for and care about you.
I was with this firm for about a year. I was forced to switch to 3 different lawyers and was charged each time. DO NOT go with this firm. The first lawyer I had was so cold and gave bad legal advice that ended up screwing up my case. I was with the second lawyer for about a month before they switched me again. Again, I was charged each time for each new lawyer to review my case and to meet with them to catch them up. It was traumatizing because I'm going through a custody battle and DV case so each time I had to explain again about how my soon to be ex-husband is abusing and has abused me and my children. I've also been charged even when THEY had to reschedule a meeting. It was unreal. They called me a couple hours prior and I graciously agreed. Thankfully I watched the bills because they had the nerve to charge me for that call. It seems like they are very scattered, unorganized and greedy. I acknowledge that lawyers deserve to be paid but they absolutely went too far.
One of my lawyers I had literally called me the wrong name in court multiple times. One time mispronouncing it and one time calling me someone else's name entirely. It was humiliating. She also filed papers from someone else's case with my case papers. It was a nightmare! I'm so thankful I left and I now have a lawyer who genuinely cares.

I hired him for less then 10 days, he over charged me , said I would be refunded some money then blocked me...... don't trust this guy, and when I asked to see a list of my costs, a breakdown of what I am being charged for, ie the math, he took way more then 10%, which is what the client agreement said he could keep if I released him from the case....
