I got my first moving violation ticket on a very busy 4th of July weekend. It was bumper to bumper traffic. The congestion was so bad a group of cars formed another lane. I only joined so I can make a left turn, away from the traffic. Unfortunately, a police officer stopped the group of cars that formed another lane. Forming another lane was illegal. I was so grateful for Attorney Abasolo to assist me. On the day I had to appear at court, the Judge granted a no moving violation with no points charged, as long as I pay the fee - just as Attorney Abasolo had advised me. I was relieved for Attorney Abasolo's helpful and professional solution to my ticket dilemma. Thank You, Attorney Abasolo.

I am so grateful to Lizet Vazquez and Caitlyn Cournoyer at the Bhatt Law Group for their help so I could get a marriage license. My fiancé and I had planned a destination wedding in Key West and had guests flying and driving from different areas to celebrate our special day. We were at city hall in Key West to get our marriage license and unbeknownst to us, we needed the date of our divorces from our previous marriages. Mine was more than 20 years ago and I could not remember the exact date and my solo attorney had since passed. I walked into John's office one day after finding out that my landlord was charging me more than the legal rent-controlled rent. John was incredibly well versed in landlord-tenant law, rent control in particular, and immediately filed a lawsuit for treble damages under the New Jersey Consumer Fraud Act. We ultimately prevailed and I recovered more than three times the amount that I was overcharged, plus all of my attorney fees. I first contacted John when I found out that my landlord had overcharged me for my rent-controlled apartment. He was very well versed in rent control law, and advised me to sue under the New Jersey Consumer Fraud Act. In less than one year, the landlord paid me three times the amount that I was overcharged and all of my attorney fees. I went into a property sale blindly not knowing anyone in the area. My realtor (who I didn't know either) recommended Rifah. She was wonderful in solving problems in a calm, logical manner. I contacted Koles, Burke & Bustillo,L.L.P because the firm I was using prior had made so many mistakes on my case.
I couldn't get appointments with physical therapists, doctors or anything else - the firm wouldn't even get back to me when I called, this went on for so long and i had enough.

I got a ticket last year for almost running a police officer's squad car off of the road on my way to classes at Rutgers. I was looking at a billboard and didn't notice my car was drifting to the right and into the police car that was in my blind spot. I was pulled over shortly thereafter. Long story short, professor González was able to get my infraction changed, cutting the total fine to a fraction of what it was. As a result of the change there were no points added to my license and I additionally avoided paying a $250 surcharge typically paid in order to avoid points. He really is an amazing lawyer. I totally recommend him, especially if you are a student and low on cash.

Over a half a year ago I was charged with a fourth degree felony due to simply being at the wrong place at the wrong time as I never looked for trouble my entire life. In my case, I found myself in a situation where trouble found me. Never having worked with a criminal defense attorney, I wanted to make sure I found one of New Jerseys most reputable. My search ended with the Tormey Law Firm and an opportunity to have attorney Chirag Mehta work on my case. Attorney Chirag was extremely dependable and showed up for all my court appearances on time and when he could not for good reason, which happened only once, he made sure I was in good hands with another one of his fellow attorneys. Attorney Chirag worked hard and was very knowledgeable and kept me informed throughout my case. Whenever I had a question or concern he was able to answer with confidence and provide me with reassurance. By the end of my case Attorney Mehta was able to drop my case down from a fourth degree felony to a boro ordinance, which is an extremely huge jump! Lastly, I would definitely recommend hiring Attorney Mehta and would not hesitate to hire him again, god forbid that life throws me another curve ball and I end up having to deal with Norwood Municipal Court bureaucrats ever again! Words do no justice for the outstanding service and professionalism I experienced being represented by Michael Shulman. Some background: I was found with a small, 500 MG weed cartridge for my vape pen and was subsequently arrested in NJ. I was given the option for a public defender but decided against it after speaking with some friends who are attorneys. I found my way to Michael Shulman through word of mouth, and I could not have chosen better representation.
Michael is thorough, quick to respond to emails (I rarely waited longer than 10 minutes) and answers all questions without hesitation. He has a clear grasp of the law and criminal defense and provides you with all your options. His prices are VERY fair given the level of service. I cannot imagine being represented by a public defender, especially after witnessing the other cases during my appearance before the judge/court.
I ultimately enter a “guilty plea” and opted for the conditional discharge which is a diversionary program in municipal court that exists for first-time drug offenders. I was required to enter probation (or “mini-probation”) for one year. Following completion, the charges are dropped, and record expunged.
There were some hiccups after being ordered to “mini-probation”. One month passed and I had still not receiving anything from court regarding probation. Two months, nothing. Three months, the same. Michael was proactive and reached out to the courts/probation every month to ensure I was covered, and the probation start date was not extended. This is the type of service you do not get with a public defender.
In short, if you find yourself needing criminal defense, do not play with your future. Call, email, text Michael Shulman. You will be glad you did.

I would HIGHLY recommend Michael Shulman. He is a true professional, honest, patient, very responsive, fair in judgement, cost, understanding and goes the extra mile. I recently was faced with a situation and needed legal representation. I called Mike on a Friday late afternoon, explained my circumstances briefly by phone and before he would commit to taking my case, he asked to meet with him the following day. He took time out of his Saturday morning to meet at his office so that he could better understand my case in a face to face environment as part of his due diligence process. In other words, this man does not just take your money, he is upfront and honest, will fight for you and remains 100% transparent. My situation did turn into a trial and Mike did win my case. He was extremely communicative during the entire process, including trial and I would add to this that not all cases win in court but having someone in your corner that you can trust is very comforting. Rushed through the discovery with me. I asked if they had thought through my case and had any questions. They said no and pushed for me to sign document to retain their services. Once document was signed, they asked for all evidence and information on the case. Only after they read through everything, then they called to reject my case. Was a complete, unnecessary waste of time that could've been avoided by doing the proper discovery instead of rushing to confirm my business.
