A little over 20 years ago, when I lived in Memphis, Mark helped me in ways that I can only truly appreciate the gravity of in hindsight. To say I had no clear direction and was making poor choices is an understatement. I never felt judged by Mark, and even at that time, I sensed he genuinely wanted to help me. He certainly was not doing it for a pay day, as I was broke as a joke. When I look back at the many people I have met in my life, Mark has always stood out to me as someone whom I admire and have a great deal of gratitude for. Without him, my life certainly could have taken a much different trajectory. At that time, I needed some extra chances, which he found. As far as leaving this review, better late than never, I guess.🤷

I found Mr. Young online, he was the first lawyer to return my call. I explained my legal issue, he asked me questions pertaining to my situation and the rest was history. Mr. Young was exceptional to say the least. He assisted me with traffic cases in Germantown and Memphis. I'm pleased to say that the outcome in each case was in my favor. What I really appreciated and admired about Mr. Young was his attention to detail and he how humble he is. I appreciated the way he payed attention to what I had to say and how I felt. I need someone to help me understand why I had an outstanding debt... My experience with this Hospital was very poor, and they could not explain why I had an outstanding balance. They just wanted me to pay them without an explanation. William finally got them to investigate and explain the issue, and I appreciate that. Mark had to fight my charge for a long time because I refused to plead guilty, and the entire time Mark made me feel like I had a friend—a legal friend—fighting in my corner. Mark is a skilled, 10 out of 10 attorney and legal advisor, and his retainer fee was very reasonable. I will always be grateful for how the negotiations he did for me changed the trajectory of my life. I am so grateful that I found the McDaniel Law Firm to handle my son's case. He was charged with simple possession/misdemeanor. November 2020 I had a slip and fall, I spoke to a family member, believing that this could have been preventable, he referred me to The Wharton Law Firm, I have never been in this situation before so I contacted the firm. All this happened during the early stages of the Covid-19 pandemic, I received a phone call advising that the attorney wanted to conduct a zoom consultation, during the consultation I advise him of what had taken place on that day, I was then advised that the firm would except my case, I was grateful. Not knowing what to expect, I went to all my doctor visits, obtain any evidence that I could, Andrew kept me up dated on every aspect of the case, if he emailed and stated they needed anything such as medical records, medical bills ect. I was able to obtain them. anytime they call, emailed the first thing they ask was how was I feeling. I woud receive some emails asking certain questions about that day, to clear up a few unanswered questions. As time went on I was still continuing treatment, I would advise them of every appointment I had, what day, who I was seeing, afterwards I would email Andrew advise him of my visit, what will happen next, I just kept him up to date on everything that was going on. Once we got to the near end I was advised of the starting offer, he advise me on each and every one through the end, he consulted with me about what to expect and how this negotiaton would take place, after mutipile offers and at that time which I agreed to settle. I have talked about this firm to my family and would highly recommend The wharton Law Firm, because I was completely satisfied. I am so grateful to The Wharton Law firm, and they were so concerning, polite, helpful, reliable, honest and most of all very professional, If I had to use a firm in the future it will be The Wharton Law Firm

I'd highly recommend David Willis! I was facing a dui, refusal to submit, and speeding ticket. After a couple of continuances he was able to get the dui and refusal thrown out due to his knowledge of the field sobriety test and what the officers did wrong in administering it. Results were a cheap speeding ticket and court costs. I'd definitely hire again if ever needed.

I hired Dave when I was arrested on a second DUI with an accident involved. I refused the breathalyzer and the officer had me do a field sobriety test. The prosecutor would not give up on reducing the sentence to a reckless driving, so after reviewing the video a couple of times he advised me we have a decent chance at beating it in a jury trial. He walked me through all the things that would go on during the trial. I sat on a jury once before and know that it can go either way so I was nervous at this point. I knew we had a good case and a good possibility of a not guilty verdict. Once the case was moved up to a new court room Dave kept on fighting I was almost positive I was going to have to take it to trial. I went to court one day and Dave came out and told me they were ready to make a deal I couldn't believe it, drop the DUI and take a reckless driving with a year probation and 5 days in jail. I was so excited he got them to drop the DUI, but Dave said that's not good enough so he worked some magic and got them to reduce the year of probation to only six months. He is very thorough, he will tell you the worst case scenario and lets you know what your chances are of getting the charges reduced or maybe beating it in a jury trial. I didn't take my chances with the jury and took the deal, Dave worked his ass off to get me that deal and I believe he would have did the same if It would have went to trial. It was the best deal I was going to get and I just wanted it to be over. I have been charged with two DUI's and have had them both reduced to reckless driving. I will tell you he is very strict, do what he tells you to do so that he can do his job to keep you out of jail. I am so glad I hired Dave, I think that if not for him I would have taken the DUI in general sessions court, but he encouraged me to keep on going. He knows the system but I hope I never have to hire him again.

I truly could not ask for a better lawyer, and this firm is a godsend. Pamela, the wonderful lady who answers the phone and I believe functions as a clerk/paralegal, is SO kind and empathetic every time I speak with her, I always end up smiling and feeling much better despite the circumstances.
The attorney himself, John Parker, is a genuinely good person. Short version:
***When working/talking with attorney John McNeil there was never any issue with feeling judged or discouraged. There was always timely communication, meetings, new information, and follow up’s post court dates. He responded to my questions and presented all information, leaving me without questions or concerns related to his knowledge and attention to each case.
I would highly recommend this office and their services.
Longer version:
Hiring a lawyer for someone when you’ve never been in any trouble yourself is daunting to say the least. Will the attorney judge the situation, client, myself? Will they take advantage of my ignorance and inexperience? How will I know if they are actually good or just like a ‘car salesman’?
The client had a very complex case with two current cases in Shelby county, a hold in MS, and then later complicated by a new hold and transfer for federal charges.
This wouldn’t be a 100% honest review if I didn’t admit it took a couple days to originally hear back from the office (I recommend using their online inquiry instead of calling, it seems the electronic paper trail works best); but in those couple of days calling around to many other attorneys some referred me back to this office while others seemed to be judgmental and discouraging (maybe trying to make me feel desperate for their services).

I'm a single dad and I sit here writing this in tears because of the realization of how grateful I am to Attorney Dowdy and her staff. I have been through so many false criminal accusations by the mother of my child who refuses to follow the custody court order that she and I have. I've been arrested more than 6 times on false police reports by my son's mother, have had CPS called on me multiple times by my son's mother, and I've had to deal with 4 orders of protection against me (going on 5) by my son's mother. All dismissed thanks to Attorney Dowdy. All of this done to me to try to keep me from seeing my son, bonding with him, protecting him, and providing for him because she wanted to pass my son off as another man's. My son's mother began doing all of this after I had her served with court papers so that I can meet my son for the first time and be a part of his life. Attorney Dowdy has been with me every step of the way and has stopped the orders of protections from destroying mine and my son's life. If it weren't for her putting in the time and energy each and every time fighting for me, my son wouldn't be able to see his daddy and share our fav meal of tacos together. Every time Attorney Dowdy goes in the courtroom she gives her all, shows how much she knows the law, and really puts up a fight for her clients. I've worked with lawyers who will take your money and either half help you in court or will outright fail you and have the nerve to ask for more money. Attorney Dowdy is NOT that kind of Attorney. Any money spent is well worth the money for her expert services! She ABSOLULTELY WILL FIGHT FOR YOU! I was blindsided being served by my longtime landlord, who called me friend. He had often bragged about his great joy in evicting tenants, but we always paid on time and were his "favorites".
