Brent provided service better than I could have expected. First of all the outcome of my case was better than expected, actually the best outcome possible. But what was more important to me was Brent and Nick’s promptness, professionalism and patience. Being charged with a crime is a stressful thing and they understand that. They answered all of my phone calls, and made sure they took the time to make sure I felt I had the answers to every question I had.

We were beyond pleased with the professional, pro-active, and supportive experience we had with Justin. We hired Justin to help our son with a legal issue in Logan. He is very knowledgeable and experienced, which gave us confidence and piece of mind. As our case had some specific nuances with little precedent in Utah, Justin did his own research and read the information suggested by my son to make sure he was both fully prepared for any legal implications and to understand my son's reasons for involvement.
Justin personally guided us through multiple court appearances. I really appreciated his willingness to be available to my son and us for questions and concerns as the process continued.
Along the way, Justin was pro-active in working with the prosecutor which resulting in having some of the charges reduced and some dismissed. In the final court appearance for sentencing, Justin responded quickly to an unexpected comment from the judge and pressed just enough to reach a wonderful outcome.

I got myself into a bit of trouble and sought out the most reputable lawyer in Salt Lake City and his thorough and detailed attention can’t be overstated. I always felt that I was in safe hands through the entire process. This was my first time dealing with the court system and I don’t live in Utah so it was a pretty confusing situation. Justin was honest and forthright with all angles, from the what ifs and what could be to this is what will probably happen. Jason and his Team helped us with an unfortunate DUI and Open Container violation. I know, stupid Human, While mistakes were made and lessons were learned it was possible this was going to be a career ender for me. Jason helped us navigate the courts and complexities that come with these chargein an extremely professional manner. 1) Don't have a beer while driving a side by side.
Especially at Sand Hollow ( Rangers will get you, its their job and they are good at it )

I was arrested, walking back to my truck in a parking lot while driving through Utah. I spent three nights in jail, had to pay to get my truck back, and was charged with a DUI. I must have called 20 lawyers but I could tell out of the gate that Mr. Schatz knew the law and was not just trying to make me feel better. Utah/Iron County did not want to give up but thankfully Mr Schatz did not either and won my case (Totally Dismissed)
I had to wear an ankle bracelet for a month and he got that taken off for a portable breathalyzer which I was on for two months then Mr. Schatz got that taken away. In all I had to appear in court via zoom around six times but never had to say a word. Everytime I heard Mr Schatz argue in court it was like I was watching a movie (he was that good and prepared) . I had asked Mr. Schatz a couple of times why don’t you tell them That I am a teacher, A father, 51 years old and I’ve never been in trouble in my life And Mr. Schatz would say every time you Utah does not care and he was right. Thankfully, Mr. Schatz cared and knows the law inside and out, Process process and procedure I thought the prosecutors had a slam dunk case against me Upon examining the videos and knowing the law like he does, Mr. Schatz was able to find enough holes to wear by the last day in court the judge described the case against me as”embarrassing”. In all, it took 12 months, but thankfully, Mr. Schatz never gave up, Never asked for more money for all the work he was doing, And in the end, the case was dismissed and is now going to be expunged. I never lost my license and never lost my job .
I can’t recommend Mr. Schatz enough .

I feel incredibly fortunate having chosen him to guide and advise me through the maze of intricacies of DUI law in Utah. He succeeded in my Driver’s License Division hearing which resulted in me receiving a refund in addition to keeping my class A Commercial Drivers License. His professionalism and assertive nature worked to my benefit with the DLD hearing. This successful outcome set the tone for my criminal proceedings.

Faced with the scariest experience of my life. My family and I found the right lawyer after 4-5 consultations. Clayton Simms was that lawyer and we got the best possible outcome from a devastating situation. I did not feel rushed. Clayton took the time to answer our questions honestly and clearly no smoke screen.
It was likely I would be found guilty and Mr. Simms worked with us to get the right outcome for the situation. This was a very serious offense. Clayton was professional and organized through the process of the 5-6 appearances. He was available and returned calls quickly.

I was pulled over by UHP in Tooele County, Utah in March of 2017, leading to several misdemeanor possession counts of marijuana. As a California resident and student, as well as a prior record, I was extremely woeful of my situation.
I called Smoland Law and spoke to Dain. He explained to me the best course of action. If I had questions, Dain would respond within the day. A few months later, I received an email from Dain, letting me know that my case had been dismissed. Without the valuable services of Dain (other attorneys wanted 2-5x the cost of Smoland Law), my life could have turned out very different.

I was going thru a hard time and got a few DUIs, one which I wasn't even driving. She got that dui dismissed, plus other charges! I was fortunate enough to work with Melissa several years ago for a DUI that came during an extremely difficult time in my life. There didn't seem to be much hope initially, but I became more optimistic when we won the hearing for my driver's license. Next up was the suppression hearing in front of a judge that is apparently notoriously tough. We were the last case to be heard that day, and after sitting for several hours and witnessing every singe case before mine have their motion to suppress be denied I wasn't feeling particularly encouraged. What I witnessed over the next 40 minutes was truly masterful. Melissa's experience and training allowed her to pull on the thread that was the state's case, and when it was over there was nothing left of it--case dismissed! Best day of my life, and one that I have never taken for granted. It was clear from the first court appearance that Melissa has the respect of her colleagues, both defense attorneys and prosecutors alike. She's not only very knowledgable but has a presence in the courtroom that is evident to all. I never felt like it was just another day at the office for Melissa, she doesn't lose sight of the gravity of her clients' circumstances. I should have written this review a long time ago, but I am extremely grateful for what Melissa was able to do for me in my time of need.

Grant Miller was the greatest lawyer ever. He believed everything I told him about my case from day one after just one phone conversation. He told me we should fight my case to the end and he always said that he thought we would win. He also was supportive with my anxiety and stress during the whole 4 years of fighting my case. He brought me nice dress pants, shirt, tie, and shoes for trial. When I doubted my case, and the chance of beating a 2nd degree felony, he reassured me that I need not stress that he always believed in my story and that we a good case and he believed we could beat the case. He was also supportive of my wife and her stress and worries during the 4 year ordeal. In court from opening statements, to witnesses for both sides, to his closing statements he was just phenomenal and what every client could ever ask for both in the courtroom as well as out of the courtroom. He made sure to explain things in detail for a better understanding of everything going on. I have to say watching him with the jury using the whole courtroom while presenting the opening and closing statements and the connection he made with the jury was for me and my family was beyond words. One of the bailiffs told me from watching Grant work while in the courtroom that I had the A-team in attorney fighting for me. I was in serious trouble. My ex wife's very powerful family from the FLDS cult wanted me out of the way so they could get custody of my kids (they had inherited some money).
