My son was in a lot of trouble. Everyone kept telling us that he was going to get prison time.
He was in a relationship with someone who got a protective order against him based off of of false information. She would then call and report that he wasn't following the protective order anytime she would get upset with him and he kept being arrested.
Nathan was able to ask us the important questions quickly and come up with a plan. He would give me a list of what he needed from us such as witness letters and any other type of evidence proving that what she was saying was untrue.
My son was able to get out of going to prison, and instead got adult probation.
If you want to reduce what sentence you could possibly get I would highly recommend selecting Nathan as your attorney.

I was arrested, walking back to my truck in a parking lot while driving through Utah. I spent three nights in jail, had to pay to get my truck back, and was charged with a DUI. I must have called 20 lawyers but I could tell out of the gate that Mr. Schatz knew the law and was not just trying to make me feel better. Utah/Iron County did not want to give up but thankfully Mr Schatz did not either and won my case (Totally Dismissed)
I had to wear an ankle bracelet for a month and he got that taken off for a portable breathalyzer which I was on for two months then Mr. Schatz got that taken away. In all I had to appear in court via zoom around six times but never had to say a word. Everytime I heard Mr Schatz argue in court it was like I was watching a movie (he was that good and prepared) . I had asked Mr. Schatz a couple of times why don’t you tell them That I am a teacher, A father, 51 years old and I’ve never been in trouble in my life And Mr. Schatz would say every time you Utah does not care and he was right. Thankfully, Mr. Schatz cared and knows the law inside and out, Process process and procedure I thought the prosecutors had a slam dunk case against me Upon examining the videos and knowing the law like he does, Mr. Schatz was able to find enough holes to wear by the last day in court the judge described the case against me as”embarrassing”. In all, it took 12 months, but thankfully, Mr. Schatz never gave up, Never asked for more money for all the work he was doing, And in the end, the case was dismissed and is now going to be expunged. I never lost my license and never lost my job .
I can’t recommend Mr. Schatz enough .

I feel incredibly fortunate having chosen him to guide and advise me through the maze of intricacies of DUI law in Utah. Faced with the scariest experience of my life. My family and I found the right lawyer after 4-5 consultations. Clayton Simms was that lawyer and we got the best possible outcome from a devastating situation. I did not feel rushed. We were beyond pleased with the professional, pro-active, and supportive experience we had with Justin. We hired Justin to help our son with a legal issue in Logan. He is very knowledgeable and experienced, which gave us confidence and piece of mind. As our case had some specific nuances with little precedent in Utah, Justin did his own research and read the information suggested by my son to make sure he was both fully prepared for any legal implications and to understand my son's reasons for involvement.

I was pulled over by UHP in Tooele County, Utah in March of 2017, leading to several misdemeanor possession counts of marijuana. As a California resident and student, as well as a prior record, I was extremely woeful of my situation.

I was embarassed and ashamed of my dui arrest and Mike made me feel like a real person who had just made a mistake. He was always prompt returning my calls, and emails and was always sincere and I never felt rushed. He guided me with every right step to take to get my very serious situation reduced. I was fortunate enough to work with Melissa several years ago for a DUI that came during an extremely difficult time in my life. There didn't seem to be much hope initially, but I became more optimistic when we won the hearing for my driver's license. Next up was the suppression hearing in front of a judge that is apparently notoriously tough. We were the last case to be heard that day, and after sitting for several hours and witnessing every singe case before mine have their motion to suppress be denied I wasn't feeling particularly encouraged. What I witnessed over the next 40 minutes was truly masterful. Melissa's experience and training allowed her to pull on the thread that was the state's case, and when it was over there was nothing left of it--case dismissed! Best day of my life, and one that I have never taken for granted. It was clear from the first court appearance that Melissa has the respect of her colleagues, both defense attorneys and prosecutors alike. She's not only very knowledgable but has a presence in the courtroom that is evident to all. I never felt like it was just another day at the office for Melissa, she doesn't lose sight of the gravity of her clients' circumstances.
