I retained Steve after getting stopped in Leavenworth for a DUI after a night at Oktoberfest and a weekend with friends. This was my second arrest for DUI after getting my previous one 5 years before. That one was dropped to a negligent originally but came back up due to this Arrest. Facing two DUIs and potential Jail time, Steve got this down to another negligent for me. His familiarity with the judge was paramount. I would hire Steve again.

As happens sometimes I got myself into a situation in which I needed legal assistance. At first I was confused and scared as I had no idea where all of this would lead. I was very lucky that I found Brandon and that he was willing to take my case. Upon first meeting with Brandon I was immediately put at ease by his knowledge and overall attitude that he was more like a friend who will help you then a stuffy lawyer that is more annoyed to be bothered by your situation. I immediately hired Brandon after meeting him in person and I can say it was possibly the smartest decision I have ever made. Charged with:
(1) Burglary Second Degree (Class B Felony punishable up to 10 years) and,
(2) Malicious Mischief First Degree (Class B Felony punishable up to 10 years).
Result: Plead to a single gross misdemeanor, served 72 hours of community service, no jail time.

Even if charges brought against you for alleged violations of the law are hyperbolic, wildly mischaracterized, bloated, or even objectively false, this may be the scariest event of your life. Even if you know what you did, what you certainly did not do, and know your actions and decisions were wrought from moments of weakness with the best of intentions, this may be the scariest event of your life. Your freedom, your livelihood, reputation, future, friends, and even family can all be at stake. This can be a torrent of physical, mental, and existential crises. Mr. Melton can help guide you.
The law is written to protect our society and way of life. Punishment should be dealt out in accordance with the degree of violation of socially accepted norms; this is the basic tenant of a just system of law, our system of law. Unfortunately, there can be times when charges brought are based upon subjective and mischaracterized accounts with, at the very most, highly questionable and circumstantial evidence. Charges and potential punishment can far exceed the intents of a just system. In these situations, details matter. A skilled attorney working for YOU matters.
Despite doing their best at a difficult, almost impossible job, law enforcement can be inadequate in exploring these details. You have the fundamental right to remain silent for a good reason. The state and prosecution are very powerful, much more powerful than you. Overworked and under supported public defenders, less skilled attorneys, or those without the personal touch and diehard dedication to justice may not be enough to provide you with fair and just representation. I witnessed this first hand throughout the horrible crucible I had to endure. I learned about the system of law and justice and was able to stay grounded and ultimately reach justice after hiring Mr. Melton.
I did not understand how the word 'felony' could even be possible; terrifying, unjust, unfair, impossible. I thought my life was over until Mr. Melton took the time to consult with me and hear my story. He took the time to get to know me and listened to the details. The details mattered to him. This was a hard, complicated, heartbreaking story tainted and twisted by a broken relationship, love, anger, resentment, and addiction. This was a hard case for any attorney, but Mr. Melton took it in stride. He provided a rock solid, objective, even calculated viewpoint when necessary and a level of friendly, approachable support crucial to the process of finding justice for his client.
He worked tirelessly, above and beyond, to reach not only a great outcome, but a just outcome. In my case, a resolution was reached in which I was able to look the Court in the eye without resignation and take responsibility for my gross misdemeanor offense. Three felony charges and another gross misdemeanor charge were dismissed because Mr. Melton got to the truth, through the myriad of details, and demonstrated this to the state so that his client got the outcome they deserved.
He saved me from disaster, from injustice, and he may have saved my life. His work was truly exemplary.

In poor judgement, I hunted deer without a license not thinking that I was going to even see a buck. I did in fact see a buck, decided to take the shot, and killed it. I have never seen a game warden in my lifetime, and as bad luck would have it, as I was dragging the deer towards my truck, a game warden drove up. Busted.
The game warden wrote up the citations, but did not specifically call them out, but instead would allow the prosecuting attorney to decide how to cite them. In aggregate, they could have put me in jail for 365 days, up to a $10,000 fine, and a gross misdemeanor on my record.
I contacted Mr. Melton and he immediately he claimed that hunting infractions were his expertise, that I shouldn’t be worried, and that he would get a reduced sentence. He was very kind and friendly, knew the law, and knew the hunting industry.
Instead of waiting for the prosecuting attorney to charge me with the four citations and then negotiate the charges down, Mr. Melton proactively negotiated with the prosecuting attorney before he formally filed charges against me, resulting in me being charged with only one of four counts, a gross misdemeanor for illegal hunting of big game. No jail time. Two years hunting probation. Fine of $2500.
Before the trial, Mr. Melton advised his approach on his strategy. He would indirectly try and get the judge to defer the sentence once my probationary time had been served. The challenge was that Mr. Melton could not overtly ask the judge for it because there was already an agreement in place with the prosecuting attorney and the prosecuting attorney could revoke the agreement.
At the trial, the judge accepted the prosecuting attorney’s charges. I was granted an opportunity to state anything I wanted to say. I acknowledged that I made a serious mistake in judgement, was a professional, no prior criminal history, father, and in good standing in the community. I asked that given my circumstances, that judge would consider derring my sentence once my probationary period was up. He grated that. Without the coaching by Mr. Melton, I would have no known that was even an option or something I could ask for at the time of trial.
In the end, I was very fortunate at the outcome. After two years of probation, the sentence will be dropped and the only consequence for me is a hard lesson learned, two years probation from hunting, and a fine of $2500. It could have been a lot worse.
I am very grateful for the legal acumen of Mr. Melton, his network within the hunting industry, and his tenacity, strategy, insight, and friendliness.

I found myself in a pretty big scrape years back and hired Nick to navigate the minefield that i found myself in. He immediately went to work building my defense, mitigating the circumstances and minimized my time of incarceration far beyond anything I could have hoped for.
A few years later, after my criminal obligations were fulfilled and I was able to have my rights restored, both voting and firearms, I knew who i was going to need. Nick once again took up my cause, and again, completely exceeded my expectations. Not only did he get ALL my rights restored, but he took it many steps further and rescinded all my guilty pleas, (12 felonies, all non-violent) convinced the judge to sign off, vacating my entire criminal history, and all within a 2 week period. Elizabeth was my attorney back in 2015 and was court appointed (not a lot of faith in most court appointed attorney's). I was facing a charge that carried prison time and wanted to take a deal to just get it over with. I told her on a couple occasions that I wanted to just wrap it up and go do the prison time. She advised me each time to just be patient because she was confident she could beat the charge. Well I'm glad I listened because she did exactly that! Case was dismissed and thrown out. She's very kind and Compassionate also.. She actually cared about me and what I was going through and genuinely wanted to help me. She is an amazing attorney! I would hire her any day!

Two weeks before we were set to move across country, I was served with a combination of papers that would not allow my son to move with me. I showed up to our first meeting nervous and a complete wreck, but I left feeling at ease and confident. Everything about our case was unusually rushed, but had you been sitting in the stands- you never would’ve guessed that Clarke had less than a week to prepare for our first court date. He took the time to listen and understand what I wanted, and then he fought hard for exactly that. There wasn’t a single phone call or meeting that left me feeling like I was talking to another monkey in a suit who only cared about the money. I felt like Clarke truly cared about me, my family, and our case. We are now living happily across the country (my son included) and I can’t thank Clarke enough for all of the work he put in to make this happen. He was recommended to me. So unfortunately I didn't do my research. But basically let the other lawyer walk all over him I ended up getting nothing I wanted in my divorce plus had to pay spousal support and she had a college degree. I do not have a college degree. So in my opinion he has no back bone or balls.

Not to impressed with billing yet. I paid my bill. The other side paid legal a portion of my legal fees as well and yet we are getting billed more with interest but being told to hold off paying it until the billing lady gets a hold of us, and we've been calling for her and getting the run around for 3 months now... will give full review of services and change stars if billing issue resolves

He was my public defender and he represented me straight to a ruined life. I took my case to trial because I was innocent and boy was that stupid. My investigator seemed to be working against me, witnesses were never interviewed, the beginning of my taped statement where my miranda rights were violated was taped over and destroyed but keith couldnt capitalize on that. My affidavit of probable cause was completely different from the case that was brought against me and yet I sat in jail for months on the craziest amount of money you could think of. My bail was more than someone who murdered someone else. WTF!?! He never showed up to my sentencing hearing and the judge sentenced me to the max amount of time, he never fought for me and in the end, the jury found me guilty of one out of three charges and that was that. The lasting impact of having inadequate representation will haunt you forever and in certain aspects totally ruined my life. I only wish I either had an attorney that recommended a plea and really informed me of the consequences of losing at jury trial and/or an attorney that would have actually fought for me.

I needed a lawyer and I got Keith Howard. The first time I met him he told me I F****d up talking to the police. I didn't talk to him until night before jury selection. No guidance for the pre-trial hearing flying blind. Tried to fire him but Judge Hodgekiss said he was the best. Boy was that I lie. Never met a sell out attorney until I met him. The day of the jury selection he came and told me to take the plea deal . I did but did not want to but he kept being forceful to take it. I ended taking the deal for the crime I did not do. At that time I went before the judge and plead guilty. Then Keith Howard had me sign the judgement and sentencing that day and it was blank without the date telling me to leave it blank. I tried to withdraw my plea the next day and told that I couldn't. I was gone to prison the next day. I never went to my Judgement and sentencing Hearing. Never seeing my judgement and sentencing until I got out. He sold me out the question is who will be next.

Great experience. Tony is priced fair, honest and no nonsense. I had just completed a messy 5 year divorce. A year later she was serving me with a hardship paperwork and wanted more child support. I paid for a consult from another family law attorney. This lawyer told me I was going to pay more. I assumed my child support would increase after reaching a settlement agreement only a year prior. This lawyer wanted to settle and talk the other party on the phone. After a referral from an employee, I consulted and retained Tony. Tony is very knowledgeable, communicates well and knows what he is doing. He is very honest and his staff is very friendly. In the end the petitioners child support would have decreased(if case would have continued) the petitioner dismissed the case herself after a couple hearings. Tony is a rock star and I would defiantly hire him again next time this happens or for any other family law matter.

I found him in the phone book, he advertised as a DUI lawyer.
I was sick just had had a tooth pulled had a ear infection affecting my balance was on antibiotics, blew a .07 ...He tried but did a poor job and lost. DO NOT let him talk you out of a jury trial like he did me, huge mistake ... He doesn't ask the right questions during trials, doesn't bring up or question the evidence he should, is not at all aggressive he seemed more worried about being nice to everyone than winning what should have been a simple case to win.. A motion for reconsideration basically consisted of a nicely worded; please ,please your Honor won't you think about it again ... He didn't bring up or challenge anything ...He was a total waste of $ 5K never mind the money wasted on a appeal with a different lawyer, lost because of the things he didn't do in original trial ... He is a really nice guy but that is not what you need in a DUI lawyer ... Find yourself a pit bull not a friendly labador ...

He was not prepared when it came time for court. He had to call an associate to bring my files in front of the judge. this was the first court date, I should have known better at that point. the next time I felt that he was cutting a deal with a buddy, meaning the opposing attorney, this was a settlement case and both mr. fuller and the judge were joking about old times. it was definately a lck of professionalism I had not seen during hours of preperation.
