I was recommended Carlos by a close friend who set up an appointment for me at the firm. Upon meeting Carlos I felt extremely welcomed, even before payments we fleshed out my case and every possible scenario and route we could take. Carlos and team were all extremely patient and thorough with my case, it took close to 2 years to finally get a resolution but ultimately I left the courtroom happy. We were able to get my charges severely reduced and I was given my life back thanks to Carlos and the team, I can't begin to explain how relieved and happy I was when I was given my final paperwork and saw what they were able to do for me.

Carlos and team did for me in ONE court date what 4 other attorneys in almost 3 years could NOT do! I had 3 Felony / 3 Misdemeanors (2 A / 1 B) which combined could have resulted in a max of 32-33 years. Because of my situation with an ex-spouse known to be Spiteful and Manipulative of the system I was not going to give up. 4 of the 6 Charges were violations of a "settled" Protective Order whereby the courts found that there was no violence in the past, present or none feared in the future. The Ex knew how to manipulate the system as I was the 3rd husband that tried has to "kill her" or brutally abused her. Obviously a pattern here BUT in the State of Texas - Women are the Kings and if a female makes the same statements and claims as mine then you are Guilty until proven Innocent regardless of HER past and previous allegations against those poor souls before me.
In short - no one wants to harm the Ex but only get as far away as possible from her and her illicit double life and thanks to Carlos 5 of the 6 charges were dismissed.
After all of the facts were presented to the ADA by Carlos I walked out of the courtroom with deferred adjudication for 2 Years for one Class B Misdemeanor of "ATTEMPTED Violation of Protective Order" with no fines or penalties either. I am eligible in 8 months to have the case dismissed altogether and keep my clean record which is important as a corporate executive with global travel.
He works at a busy law firm with difficult cases and that is what you want from an attorney - it's analogous to walking into a restaurant that is packed with people - the food is good as opposed to a restaurant that never has any people (always a Red Flag)!

Last - IF you are not happy with an attorney then you have the Legal Right to change - Carlos was my FIFTH attorney. Don't accept a judgement then "blast" the attorney online in a poor review!!

I choose this firm to represent me in my accident case back in February 2021. Worst experience with a lawyer. First of all, everyone should be made aware that Melody Cooper is not local. She lives hours from here. You wouldn’t need to know that, except for when you show up to your appointment at her office only to be set up with a zoom meeting. Very unprofessional. She seemed to be overwhelmed by what I needed done which was simple services she offers. She charges upward of $800 plus. For a zoom meeting. I finally received my documents and they were not completed as requested. Oh, but she cashed my check the very next day after zoom call. I did not receive my documents until 1 month later and as mentioned above, not correct. Her attitude was as if I was bothering her. Rude, unprofessional and incompetent. Be warned!!

Sadly, the only good thing I can say about them is that they helped me obtain my work permit. Other than that, my experience was terrible.
First and foremost, the outcome of my case was never even discussed in the office. Their excuse was, ‘The lawyer did what he thought was best for you,’ without ever considering that my opinion mattered. I’ve been sending them messages, but they’ve stopped replying entirely.
When I first visited their office, they seemed happy to take my case. However, after I paid all the money they requested, they suddenly claimed my case was ‘weak.’
My recommendation: find another lawyer.

I called to get with an attorney and without knowing my case they wanted me to pay $10K retaining fee just for assisting me in 1 hour court. It's obvious that attorneys like this one that don't want to even spend 5 minutes with you on the phone to hear your story and THEN give you the best recommendation, are the worst attorney in the country, so I do not recommend this firm at all.
An attorney firm MUST hear your case and understand every single aspect before even talk about their fees and charges. So obvious the care about money only, not about their clients

Chris Lake is not a good attorney in my opinion. He has mentioned his own mother's divorce multiple times and it shows... he clearly supports the mother in divorce cases even if he is representing the father. This happened to me and many other fathers who were represented by Mr. Lake. He is also incapable of taking any criticism or negative feedback in a constructive way and will just try to blame it on you or someone else. Instead of doing what you want he does what he thinks is best. He also stated negstive things against me in court as a way to make me seem humble and that ended up backfiring. Chris of course blamed it on the judge. He needs to realize many many families have now been adversely affected by his interference. You will be remembered Mr. Lake as a unprofessional and incompetent attorney and an unethical person.

I agree with the above review she is extremely busy and difficult to get in contact with. I had a very difficult case in attempting to vacate a divorce which she was willing to take on, however she did not follow through as planned and dicussed with my case. One day after numerous attempts in trying to get in contact with her I received a letter of disengagement. Now this made my circumstances worse, when she could of been upfront from the beginning. DO NOT! I REPEAT DO NOT HIRE HER!!! She could not spell names correctly, every AFTER getting corrected!! She's still attached to my case even though she was supposed to remove herself! She will side with OC rather than stand up for her client!! She almost cost me everything with child custody! She should not be practicing family law because she is not knowledgeable enough in my opinion! She was filing motions with other people's information attached, yes...OTHER PEOPLE'S CASES were part of mine! I had to fire her because had I not, I would have not only lost the case but given up even more! Waste of $3500.00 right down the drain that I am never getting back!

A couple years ago when I was 19 years old I was in an abusive marriage. He beat me in front of my children and that was the last straw. I called this women for help, told her I had no idea what I was doing, that I was young and was being abused. She started yelling at me going off saying I was scamming her and asking for free services. I broke down crying, I felt so alone and defeated. I in no way was looking for “free services” i was young, confused, distraught, and trying to find someone who could help me figure out the process of divorce. She made me feel so awful and alone, I almost stayed in an abusive marriage solely because of this woman. I doubt she remembers me but I sure remember her and now that I am almost 30 I see even more how absolutely vile what she did and said was. I was a child being beaten and when I reached out to her for help all she did was yell at me and belittle me. Ms “Adkins”, I whole heartedly hope you are ashamed of yourself, you definitely should be
also- do not respond to my post with some ignorant excuse like you respond to everyone else with a negative review. as far as i can see, every negative review is more or less about the same thing, you being rude, insensitive, and responding to people with a unnecessary and unprofessional attitude. i don’t see that all being a coincidence. on top of that every response to their reviews is you coming up with some excuse and trying to turn things around to make it seem like they just don’t wanna hear the truth. here’s a tip, you can tell the truth and not be an as*hole to people going through one of the hardest times of their lives. you in no way shape or form care about any of these people, all you care about is your paycheck and that is beyond shameful and honestly disgusting. you do not deserve to be in this profession

Unfortunately, I have had experience with many attorneys. From my experience some attorneys will drag on your case so they can pay off a car payment, other attorneys are more concerned about their invoice then about your case and finally there are some that don’t have a strong grasp of what you case requires and will take it on lose the case for you but they get paid either way. After so many negative experiences, I hired Mr. Papaliodis. My cases were complicated and intertwined with one another but Mr. Papaliodis was honest of the possible outcomes and he confidently took them on without hesitation. He was always straightforward. He was always available when I needed him and answered my questions. We will be forever grateful. I am truly grateful that I found him and only wish to have found him sooner. I came to Louis as a referral. Upon hearing my ordeal he gave me options. But he seemed very apprehensive. He wasn't really sure of himself. He also looked pre occupied with something else.
