I recently had the privilege of being represented by Attorney John Seed for a DUI. He was referred by a friend and there is no question he was the perfect attorney for the case. After reviewing the details, John made clear what to expect regarding timelines and court appearances. On the day of the trial, a weak witness for the prosecution that would have benefitted our case failed to show and instead threatened to derail it. I contacted Attorney Karpf after my initial lawyer withdrew due to my inability to pay mounting legal fees. I was in the middle of a highly contested divorce and only three weeks away from my Pre-Trial hearing—a very stressful and uncertain time.

Atty Matt Karr is excellent. He spent the time to understand our need for a credit bypass trust. He explained the process in clear declarative English rather than legalese. I feel that his fee was very reasonable. He supported his documents with a video explaining everything so that I could replay it if I had questions. We spoke to other lawyers that charged more and some that charged less. It is very hard to compare prices like buying a car. I recommend that you meet with Matt before selecting an attorney. BTW trusts are his specialty not just another work product.

Many legal cases, especially those involving 15 years! of retroactive child support can be daunting to say the least. And having Five, yes Five (5), previous attorney's over all these years NOT being able to get the job done has been very disillusioning and disheartening. However, Attorney Jason V. Owens without hesitation took intelligent command of what appeared to be a "lost" cause and quickly re-esatablished the legal legitimacy and worthiness of my child support case with clear, concise direction. Jim's firm represented me during my divorce. My divorce was one of the very few that go to a trial. I enlisted the services of Attorney James Lynch in order to help me navigate a very difficult situation regarding the care of my ailing mother and the protection of those trusts (of which I was Co-Trustee) which had been set up to protect both my mother and her estate. At the time, two of my three siblings; one of whom was also a Co-Trustee; were quite literally stealing from my mother and through their deceitful maneuverings were attempting to force a dispersal of her estate far in advance of even knowing what my mother's expenses might be, and certainly without due regard for her well-being. When I first sat down with Attorney Lynch, I was struck by the fact that, while he listened carefully to my description of the situation, he did not take me just at my word, but instead asked all the insightful questions, then did his own investigation, and slowly but very surely became one of my greatest allies. His desire to verify the veracity of my story was and is something that I both greatly appreciate and respect. Soon thereafter, Attorney Lynch was able to implement certain safeguards so as to put a halt to the bleeding of the estate as well as force my siblings into a more forthright and prudent approach to my mother's care. Throughout the ensuing years, as my mother's health and mental acuity failed, Attorney Lynch was there to help me ensure both my mother's continued good care and protect her estate from the premature dissolution which my two siblings continued to maneuver for. In response to the response from Turco: You are correct, I did not engage you so all payments to the firm you subsumed in my name should have ended especially when my invoices were paid in full. Wyckoff represented me in my divorce. I was in a bad relationship and wanted to keep distance from my partner who kept requesting in-person meetings (which stressed me out). Wychoff went as far as suggesting we:
1. Meet in his office
2. I arrive first and go to room A
3. They arrive and go to room B
4. He will run back and forth between rooms so I never have to see them
5. I'll leave after they leave
Amazingly, they dropped the in-person meetings and we were able to finalize the divorce paperwork over email. He was also great support on the court date when the divorce was finalized. I usually don't write reviews buy I felt compelled to share my experience with Steve. Now here's the thing I called at 5:30 pm on a Saturday and he answered! It was on a whim and im so happy that I found him and reached out. I explained my what I feel might be a "messy" situation trying to get divorced. He listened with no judgement and told me that I already seem to know what to do but let me help you if i can. He offered for me to fill out all my paperwork (because the court house lost my divorce paperwork SMH) and when I have it all in order to email him and he said he will not charge me for him to look it over. I have called a couple lawyers and no one ever offered me anything like this. I feel he really heard me and I am just so grateful that he answered my call. Going forward if I need to retain he is who I will be retaining. This man is very kind, humble and just a good guy. Thank you Steve you gave me my hope back that I lost for some time. I rarely write online reviews, but i think it is critical in this instance, firstly, because I used Avvo in assisting with my legal selection and consumers need this data. So, I will be as honest as I can.
Attorney Zlochiver is principled. I found his service to be based upon fairness and seeking the best outcome within the limits of the law, and done with an un-excitable, stable spirit. This sometimes was a sticking point for us. My opponent was aggressive and angry, and I wanted more energy; wisely, Attorney Zlochiver did not return all of the flaming brands I requested of him. In the end, for better or worse, he tempered my anger and frustration with my case.
Attorney Zlochiver is responsive. He was always reachable by email and phone. Reasonable response times were always met.
In summary, if you are seeking retribution and revenge, I don't think you'll find satisfaction here. I occasionally felt as though we could have been more aggressive--going on the offensive vs. a defensive posture, but Steve knew it would have been a futile, mis-use of my fee and he was careful about fee utilization.

In searching for a family lawyer, I had three criteria:
1) A competent lawyer who is familiar with the presiding judge. It is important that the lawyer knows what the judge looks for in a case both in the court room and the filed documentation. He was able to advise of the proper strategy to get the best case scenario without having the situation spiral into a more contentious case.
2) An objective lawyer who has enough court-room experience to be realistic in assessing possible outcomes. Rather than simply being hopeful, he suggested contingencies for the most plausible decisions that the judge may make during the hearing.
3) An understanding lawyer who would work with my limited budget & time. Mr. Zlochiver took on my case knowing of my financial situation and worked into the late evening on new documentation in order to bolster my case the following morning.
Steven Zlochiver certainly does not comes to mind when you think of the typical ambulance-chasing lawyer. Not a shark. Not a clock watcher. Rather, someone you definitely want in your corner who is willing to relate to your circumstances.
