I hired Mr. Allen in 2019 while I was going through a separation with my ex-wife that ended in divorce. This was a very stressful, unpleasant and overwhelming time of my life. My ex-wife was making false accusations and asking for everything I had to my name - I needed help quickly. Mr. Allen explained everything to me...his strategy, how the law works, what to expect, best outcome, worst outcome - he was always pretty quick to respond to my calls, texts, emails, etc. I was extremely pleased with the outcome as we settled in mediation and the settlement was one that I thought was fair and that I was happy with. If it were not for Mr. Allen's zealous representation I fear I would have been clobbered and taken for everything I had. I absolutely recommend Mr. Allen for any type of family law case.

Scott keep it honest from the start and gave me great advise. He started helping me in 2014 and I had a bad start after losing the first case with my first Lawyer. Scott was doing such a great job with my friend I had to give me a chance which is something I would not regret. I hired Scott, when I was going through divorce child custody, and a lot of false claims were filed against me. I interviewed several lawyers and hired Scott, as I felt comfortable with him. He listened to me patiently and went through the court documents. I asked him to explain the process and he did explained what I should expect next. His paralegal James is certified paralegal and is superb in what he does. James helped me with the initial documents and the process.
Scott has a great document management system. Whatever documents I gave him till now, he never lost those and had those when we needed them. Scott asked me whether I want to settle or go to court. I wanted to go to court and he went with it. During the initial hearing and all the subsequent hearings he fought for my rights and presented my case diligently and proved the claims by the other party to be false. Most of the lawyers, will tell you settle as it saves them and the court time, but it might not be always in your best interest. Scott is not those lawyers, he really cares about his clients and is not afraid to litigate or fight for his client’s right in the court.
My case went through the approximately 15 months with different hearings etc. All these times, Scott has treated me with respect and did his best for my case. Divorce and custody cases are hard, as these drain you emotionally and financially. A lot of lawyers will try to linger your case or will try to charge you excessive amount of fees. Scott never tried to linger my case or charge me inappropriately.
The most important thing is, most lawyers will be nice when they have to take your case, but when the going gets tough and difficult in the divorce case or custody case; they would ask you to look for another lawyer or will ask to be excused from your case. Scott is not such lawyer; he is there for you from the beginning till the end. He is well reputed and well respected among his peers and in the community. He’s been practicing family law for over 20 years. Throughout my case, I had peace of mind that I have best lawyer looking out for my case and who is not afraid to go extra mile for my case.
Scott never promised me the moon or the stars; he always said he will do his best as the case outcome can’t be guaranteed. He did his best. In all hearing, he gave me more than ample time for the trial preparation. He always answered my emails promptly, despite his busy schedule. One time, I had to visit my child out of state and I had driven 7 hours one way and the other parent won’t let me see my child. I immediately contacted Scott and he immediately contacted the lawyer of my ex and that allowed me to see my child the next day. It was a weekend; most lawyers won’t respond to you even if it’s emergency situation on a weekend. That single action by Scott, earned a lot of my respect and regard for him.
I would highly recommend Scott Allen for anyone looking for the best lawyer for Child Custody, Alimony, Divorce & Separation and for family law related matters. If you ask me, who is the lawyer who will stand by you from the beginning till the end, who will be around through your roller coaster ride of the Child Custody, Alimony, Divorce & Separation etc., I would say Scott Allen. He truly cares about his clients and is one of the best lawyers.

Clifford law firm was to represent my son in 2 counties both wake and sampson. He showed up once in wake none in sampson after being paid to be my son's rep. I would not hear from him nor my daughter in law would see him attend to business. The man mumbles and I could not understand most of what he was saying even though he was apprised I am hard of hearing. 20 months and nothing he said he would do was done. I even hesitate to give one star he deserves none.

Had a really bad experience using this lawfirm and I don't agree with any of the positive reviews could all be fake. This attorney used me as a cashcow regarding a civil dispute, never actually accomplished anything we wanted him to achieve,
In short we hired this attorney to handle a civil dispute. After hiring him, he requested we do all this sort of work so he could gather it up and fight this civil dispute. After months of using him and bills racking up, he did little to nothing, didn't produce any results and we wasted tens of thousands on him. Overall the worst experience I had using any attorney.

I did not have a positive experience with Ms. Kelley Cash during my prenup consultation. Ms. Cash was indifferent - she did not offer any acknowledgement of my upcoming marriage and instead criticized the late timing before the wedding. I was eager to get the agreement finalized and tried to move forward with her services anyways. I never received any follow-up communications. It was a waste of my time and money. I am glad I found another attorney that offered superior services and legal expertise.

As an Alamance county resident, I had a hard time finding a family attorney in the Wake area that I was comfortable with. After doing some thorough research I came across Jake Terrell, and pick him because of his great reviews, dedication and knowledgeable background. Jake has represented me in 2 cases within the year and has been able to get me the results I wanted BOTH times. The second case was extremely rare and when I spoke to Jake about it he was super eager to handle it. I could tell he put in the work the day of court because he handle it with flying colors! I started an appeal with Attorney Jurney for custody. She didn't do anything on my case for over a year. Afterward, I decided to drop the appeal since the other party filed a motion and moved my case to another county, which was approved by the judge. Attorney Alicia has promised a refund, and almost 2 years later, nothing. They do not answer their calls or return emails when supposed to. I have had mercy and have waited months before writing this review, in fact I wrote a review about 4 months ago, and they reached out to me and told me they were going to get my refund just so I can take the review down, but never heard anything back after multiple emails.

Ms. Jurney is representing me in a child custody and support case. Throughout the prep work to the temporary hearing, I was thoroughly impressed by the amount of information we were able to exchange at each meeting, how quickly Ms. Jurney comprehended complicated expenses and child support calculations, and how well Ms. Jurney prepared herself was for the hearing. Evonne Hopkins was a horrible attorney. She would frequently curse, scream and yell at me when she was in a bad mood. She also cursed and screamed at a family member. She charged very expensive fees and she was horrible in every way.

If you hire to have her to represent you to do a separation agreement, please read it very closely. Or have them review it closely with you are clear what the terms are, it reflects your desires, and there are no careless errors. I made the mistake of not doing either. It was a very emotional and difficult time and I trusted the agreement had the terms we had discussed prior to her office drafting it. The SA included terms that were not only undesirable, but definitely not in my best interests or the best interests of my children.. I am not giving her one star because I will say her office staff was responsive when I had to email/contact the office. But there was no excuse for the errors in the Agreement - esp when my ex spouse wasn’t asking for them or pushing for these terms that she included. And their office was only representing me. This was not a mediated agreement.

I can not give a great or positive evaluation of the service that I received from David Mahlum Law Office. The paralegals staff we're not very professional. Didn't seem knowledgeable in the ways of open commutation, being compassionate or did nothing to keep me in the loop thew this very difficult time to let me know how my case is being handling. After paying his $2000. attorney fee and under his advice, going to the two Counseling Programs. Another $1500. Well I guess as a client I expected better than take my money and do nothing. Specially after being promised I would be reinstated in one year. After making all my attorney Fee's to David Mahlum law firm. Communication stopped. It's now three year and about one year with no contact from David or his Paralegal staff. I highly recommend not to use this law firm. After April 2017. I will report this law firm to North Carolina state Bar.

On our first meeting, he gave me advise about what to expect and what kind of options I may have moving forward. With his help and knowledge, he was able to help get my sentence reduced in court.
