Philip helped me with my DUI case. His rate was great compared to others and he took care of appearances with DMV and Superior court. He was able to reduce my sentence from 30 days down to 8 days (4 days with good behavior) which I get to serve in Sheriffs Work Program. He knows the judges and DAs and I would highly recommend him to others.

My Case was very complicated. Phil was kind enough to explain exactly what was done and also did what I asked. He went to the prosecuting attorney several times on my behalf to ask for a reduction. I hired Mr. Dedecker for a dependency court case and the odds were really stacked against me. He fought really hard and secured my innocence despite the county counsel being against me. He took my case and he was optimistic about it from the start. He really cares and it shows. First he was incredibly knowledgeable. From the first conversation I had with him until the last he was able to successfully explain to me the process of my legal problem and what he was going to do to help me. He was very responsive to all my calls and questions and enthusiastic each time I spoke with him. I was shocked that he answered his phone on a weekend and was willing to talk to me! I definitely needed a lot of support during my difficult time and he was able to put me at ease. If you want an attorney that cares to listen to your concerns and helps you understand the system. I recently worked with Hannah Myers’s to do some estate planning. She met wit me for over an hour to explain the process of setting up a family trust and answered all of my many questions. There was no pressure to use her law firm at that point, she just gave me her card and I was able to have time to think about the direction I wanted to go. Of course she was so thorough and knowledgeable that I ended up paying a deposit and getting started on the process. I hired Mike Ross as my lawyer two years ago for a case regarding a spurious robbery charge. Why review him now? Because after I went onto multiple sites including this one in order to warn people of my experiences I decided against it because he had been negatively reviewed into the ground. Indeed, even before I hired him, I printed out the reviews that greatly troubled me, and showed him and asked for his explanation.
Using the greatest skill he ever showed me, he deftly wound each story into the other. So many reasons from each client. Bitterness. Regret. Lack of financing. His inability to help them due to them either hamstringing him, or going against his advice, or just being guilty with overwhelming evidence against them.
I was glued to these stories, and impressed with his speaking style. Surely, I thought, if he defends me with even a modicum of the same skill, this is an easy win, right? Looking back, he divulged way too much information, and I wonder what he tells people of me now, even what rationalizations he uses to say why I am just like all the other clients he discredited.
I don't know what he's done or how, but this site now shows a five star average rating for him. It's both ridiculous and impressive. I'd laugh if he hadn't caused so much harm. Reputation is everything, and it is fitting that Mike Ross' reputation is the only thing he will work his magic to defend and protect.
I chose Mike Ross because I was impressed that a lawyer of his experience could be had for the price point. Careful what you wish for. Other lawyers had quoted me anywhere from 12-25k to go to trial, which I was deadset on, being falsely accused. He quoted me a paltry 10 grand. 5 up front, two payments splitting the rest after. What a deal! i quickly signed our agreement and paid him the first 5k and then an additional 2.5 very shortly after, eager to secure such a skilled man before any one else monopolized him. The only thing that tripped me at the time was his equal rush for me to sign, and a tiny portion of fine print saying the quote was for "pretrial services", which of course was not what we agreed. But he laughed it off, said they'd grabbed the wrong papers, and crossed it out, writing over it in what seemed like pen, that it was including trial services once full payment was received. Hindsight, right?
So how did it go?
We had film and witnesses proving my innocence. I truly felt there was nothing that could possibly go wrong. I felt strange that I only ever called him, never the reverse, but if it was such a slam dunk, so what?
Then he deposed me, but not really, it was the last time I ever saw him. He met me in a secluded spot out in old town Sac by the river and took notes on my version of events. He noted that I had not gathered the relevant film nor contacted the relevant witnesses, to my shock, which he said he'd guess he'd have to do then. He never did. Then for three months before the trial, ignored my calls with the exception of his secretary calling to inquire about the final 2.5k, which we'd already agreed he'd get once the trial date was set, which also should have alerted me.
On the date of the pretrial hearing, we went on Zoom, he came on late, and just destroyed any hope I had. He said he was there for pretrial only, and not my main council. Then once I, flabbergasted, asked to recess the hearing to talk to him on the phone, he denied. The ADA offered a bad deal never discussed, and Ross stopped it and said then and there that if I didn't accept it, he was gone, and I was on my own. I had no more money, and therefore no way to sue him, and worst, was blindsided at my greatest hour of need. He knew this. I made what deal I could without him and just plead out. No evidence, no witnesses, he had never done any work he promised. Just like that, he disappeared.
You will regret any relationship to this man. Maybe he erases this too. Please don't make my mistake!

Great and smart attorney. He will fight hard for your case. If there is any small error in your report or procedure he will find it. After a year of fighting my case he got it thrown out. 99% of attorney's take your money and it will be VERY HARD to get a hold of them. I had a reckless driving ticket with some other DUI complications. I found Byron on Yelp. He was quick to respond to my request for help. He gave me some idea of what to expect and the potential results. He knew his stuff. They were scary but not guaranteed. I didn't like the idea of going to jail for six months and that was looming over my head. He was able to get the charges and fines reduced and keep me out of jail. Putting Byron on my team was definitely a good decision. I recommend him highly!

I was pulled over for minor speeding and was hit with two other correctable offenses in the same stop (the officer was having a bad day). I hired Byron to defend me and he did an amazing job. One evening in late February, I found myself arrested and charge with a DUI. The circumstances of my case were unusual. While I was discussing my unfortunate encounter with a friend, he quickly recommended Nancy King. I hired Lara to help me quickly (and cost-effectively) wrap up the divorce process with an ex whose focus was to make things more difficult at every turn. I specifically did not want a bulldog of an attorney.
Lara is quietly competent, but assertive. She skillfully managed my ex’s attempts to drive up costs and exert control over her and the Court. Lara is sharp and attentive. I felt like she listened and understood what was important to me, and was both direct and gentle in her communication with me. She was very efficient with my retainer.

I came to miss Calvert last year, with a domestic violence charge, I had warrants for my arrest, a battery charge, a breaking a court order charge and a vandalism charge, I was scarred as hell! I actually found Miss Calvert on this website, I got in touch and within no time at all I was free of the warrants with no arrest..she then tackled the criminal charges, ( each of witch carried a year In jail, that's 3 years not to mention possible immigration consequences witch could follow ) the DA came back with a. Few pleas, but miss Calvert handled me and the situation swiftly, with skill, precision and a smile! She was able to get just a few anger management classes and the charge will go away, with no possibility a for immigration to then get there hands on me! The best possible outcome is exactly what she gotta. She made my fear go away, she was very communicative and honest with me, I found the way she handled everything, well for no better words, ABSOLUTLY FLAWLESS! If I were the DA in Sacramento, I'd either be sending all my assistant DAs back to Law school or I'd be trying my best to recruit her! Allison Kephart is, and has been, great lawyer. She handled my extensive, involved divorce. Opposing counsel was more than difficult and her patience and professionalism were extraordinary. Ms. Kephart is expensive but well worth it. I would highly recommend her.
