I have been a lawyer for nearly 21 years. My mother and I, retained Mary Jo Broussard Speier to help us establish a relatively complicated trust fund. The service and counsel we received from Ms. Speier was exceptional. She looked into all aspects of our situation, and requirements, and determined the best course of action. In doing this she identified potential problems and went about taking steps to address them proactively. The work we had done was relatively complicated (at least I thought so) and could have been both confusing, and stressful, to my mother and myself. To her credit, Ms. Speiers made sure she explained the process in advance, as well as provided us with detailed updates along the way. Further, whenever we had a question, she came back with the answer in less that 24 hours, in most instances within just one or two hours. When the trust was completed she took the time to sit down with us and explain it in detail before it was signed. Then, a week or so later when I had few follow-up questions, she addressed them right away. In sum we were very pleased with Ms. Speier's professionalism and responsiveness throughout the project. We would certainly recommend her to friends and family.

I would highly recommend contacting Mr.Leppler, I reached out to his office after I was involved in a accident, Barbara from his office called me back immediately and then I received a call from Mr.Leppler as well right after that. I spoke with him and let me tell you I think he was the most honest and upfront attorney I ever met, I work for attorneys but in a different field of law. He even gave me advice on what to do and how to handle my situation even though he said I would not need him. Mr.Leppler then told me if I have any questions or need help I could even reach back out to him. He obviously cares about the person and situation and not about just the money. I felt such a weight lifted off of me after our conversation. I would highly recommend contacting his office if you want someone who is going to have your best interests in mind and that goes above what he has to and who is very honest.

I want to convey another positive experience with RLG. I don't know how she does it, but when Stacey answers the phone, she makes me laugh and puts me at ease. Even in what most feel are stressful circumstances, she is able to make me laugh and bring humor to my day. Caring and compassionate attorneys who are worth their weight in gold! I am a mom who found herself unexpectedly at the courthouse filing an emergency petition for custody after my estranged husband refused to return our children after their scheduled visit with him. I found myself in immediate need of representation. Z Family Law came highly recommended, and now I know why! They MADE time for me, and at the very last minute! We had an hour to prepare before we went before the judge, but you would have never known. If there was a way to rate less than one, this man and his law firm deserve a zero or a -5. Always unprepared. I never saw his office despite my multiple calls (a friend said "that is what they do in Baltimore and Annapolis"), He will always get documents the day before court date or sometimes in the court house on the hearing date (when do you prepare a defense or a strategy dear attorney?) He first advised to countersue just to bump up his time and money arguing that it was the best strategy in a divorce case. While this aggravated the situation with my ex-wife, he advised me to consent to a protective order where I did nothing and I had evidences and a witness (it was just a strategy from the other side to get me out of the marital property). Until this day I don't understand why you will ruin someone life just to make sure your firm is making money. Contersuing will mean that you are presenting another case against the plaintiff, which he never did, it was just a way to bill the time and make more money. Mr greenberg and his law firm are the place where you should never go. He prepared documents, billed me for the time spent preparing those documents and surprisingly never submitted the documents but I should pay for it while I was waiting to see the document submitted and was never aware that he decided not to submit my documents without consulting me. He sent me emails saying "this is what you can get at a minimum" but ended up going for less, still today, my ex still owe what came from the settlement under his magnificiently poor advice) and convincing me to let my ex take my son to another state under the reason that if we are in the state where the defendant was moving I will have 50/50 physical and legal custody. Anyone else who saw my case and evidences wondered why I did not get full custody. Why focus on my immigration status when I already had a brilliant immigration attorney and had/have no issue with my lawful residency in the US? In term of confidentiality, don't trust this man, He called my immigration attorney to discuss the status of my bill and make me look bad. Today I have to travel from Maryland to Houston every other month to see my son, barely see/communicate with my boy, I'm still struggling because I have no family here and at that time I had been living in the US for 3 years including the 2 years I couldn't work, the support I was supposed to receive each month as child support for not making enough including my share on this marriage, the support my ex wife was federally binded to provide through a signed affidavit of support for leaving everything behind to come here were left on the table and this man called "greenberg" or "nightmare" is going after my wage under the pretense that I did not finish paying him. My marriage was not a success, but picking the phone and contacting this man based on fake reviews online was the worst thing in my life. I could have just show up by myself at the court house and get better outcomes. NEVER GO TO THIS MAN AND HIS LAW FIRM. He will put you in a worst situation than the one you are trying to get out off. It's because of this kind of man that some people don't trust attorneys/lawyers.

First off let me say if you are looking for an attorney you have found him! I’ve hired many attorneys in Maryland of the years and NOT ONE can compare to Ian Valkenet. He is honest, straight forward, and the most educated attorney in his field we’ve ever spoken to. Which was over a dozen for this particular case. Most of them even told my husband and I that there was nothing we could do that we were in the wrong. Deep down we knew that couldn’t possible be true. After speaking with Ian it was confirmed. There was something we could do. A lot actually and Ian was knocking them out like Muhammad Ali in the ring. You don’t get that a lot anymore with attorneys. They tell you things and don’t follow through . Not Ian! If he says he’s doing something it’s done. This man knew our rights and was honest with us. We have been in a lawsuit since Feb 2023. From the day we met Ian for a consultation we knew that this man was who we needed. He knew the law in every aspect you can imagine. It was incredible we were actually looking forward to seeing him in trial. For pure satisfaction of seeing the defendants faces. 😂 This man won without having a trial which saved us money but it would’ve been epic to watch him in this case. If you hire him and get to see him in that courtroom it will be pure satisfaction. Even in our case for motions to dismiss he was incredible. When he speaks you listen he makes you feel safe like you can really sit back and not stress because you know he is protecting you. Because let’s face it anything that involves going to court can be stressful. Everything he told us happened without hesitation. His phone calls were prompt always on time, didn’t send someone else from his office to court. We’ve had that happen on many occasions with other firms. He understands the importance of his clients needs and wants. Breaks everything down for you and ensures you understand step by step. We really appreciated that too. This man isn’t just in law for a paycheck he goes above and beyond for his clients. He is worth every dollar! We would hire him over and over again. Our only regret is that we didn’t find him a year sooner. The end result of our lawsuit was we won everything we asked for and then some. Ian we cannot thank you enough you will alway be on our speed dial. We will refer you over and over again because you deserve it! When I tell you there was nights I cried over this case before hiring Ian Valkenet I’m not exaggerating. My husband and I felt so helpless in this matter. After many phone calls with attorneys. We thank god we found Young & Valkenet. I don’t typically write reviews but after watching Ian represent us and our amazing outcome I just had to. Had an excellent and professional experience with this law firm. We went there to redo our will and Mr. McDonald explained the trust process to us and redid our will in that form. He was very organized and professional and explained in detail what he was doing. At the end of the process, he sent us a detail next steps letter to ensure that our JRLT was properly acknowledged. He has a pleasant and welcoming manner and did not make us feel confused as neither one of us are lawyers and needed explanations for the process. We would use the services of his firm again.

What a pleasant experience with The Umeh Law Firm. That won’t happen to me, I said, I don’t practice that religion, and so I did not speak out. That won’t happen to me, I said, I’m not of that sexual orientation, and so I did not speak out. That won’t happen to me, I said, I’m not part of that income bracket, and so I did not speak out. That won’t happen to me, I said, I don’t have that disability, and so I did not speak out. That won’t happen to me, I said, until it was physically in my face, had me backed into a corner, and was spewing utter vitriol at me. That won't happen to me, I said, he'd never lay a hand on me, until one day the physical aggression caused me physical pain and injury. That won’t happen to me, I said, until thirteen months ago, when I found myself on the phone with a domestic violence hotline. That won’t happen to me, I said, until thirteen months ago, when I found myself hurriedly packing a bag and fleeing my home, and boarding an aircraft out of state, because I feared for my life and safety. Fifty years ago, when my mother and her family escaped their war-torn country with nothing but the clothes on their backs and one bag per person due to religious persecution, I never imagined that one day, fifty years into the future, that I too would one day find myself following in her footsteps, quite literally. I never imagined that I would one day find myself fleeing my home with nothing but the clothes on my back and one small carry-on bag, and boarding a same-day aircraft bound for 1,000+ miles away, because I too feared for my life and safety. Thirteen months ago, when I found myself on the phone with a local domestic violence agency in my state, I never imagined that the proverbial door would get slammed in my face, on the basis that I earned too much money to qualify for any help or support. Since I was born and raised abroad, and with my own family still living halfway around the world, it was in that moment that I truly realized, and that it genuinely sunk in, that I was going to be completely and entirely alone in the process of escaping the cycle of violence. In 1848, divorce was practically unheard of. Most states had fault-based divorce laws outlining the requirements and criteria permitting divorce: lunacy, adultery, desertion, or cruelty. This meant that couples could only pursue divorce IF they could prove, in a court of law, that one or the other had committed one of these offenses. However, given the laws (or lack thereof) governing women's rights and freedoms at the time, divorce was far more complex for women, as they remained at risk of being unable to regain their last names, unable to retain property acquired prior to their marriage, or unable to obtain custody of their children. These fault-based grounds are in stark contrast to the no-fault system that exists across most states today. Today, after decades of tireless advocacy, and thanks to incredible attorneys like Laurie Wasserman and Virginia Yeoman, people are no longer required to remain shackled to their spouses, and have the freedom to escape the cycle of violence. Thanks to the fabulous support of Laurie and Virginia, I've not only been able to survive, but I am slowly on my way to thriving again. The words "happiness" and "divorce" are the last two words you'd expect to see in the same sentence, but that is exactly what Virginia and Laurie have facilitated for me. For anyone considering engaging the services of Laurie Wasserman and her team, from the bottom of my heart, I wholeheartedly recommend them and their entire office. They'll not only save your life, but they will also help re-unlock your door to freedom, health, independence, and joy again.

Before I hired Martha, I was working with another attorney for my divorce process, and I just didn't feel like they were on my side and looking out for my best interests. Someone referred me to Martha White, and once I met with her, I made the decision to end my retainer agreement with my current attorney and hire Martha White. Martha White listened to me and to my concerns and what I wanted out of dissolving my marriage. She was always responsive to my calls or emails and took the time to explain things to me, so that I understood all of terms and possible outcomes of this process. I feel that she helped me reach a fair settlement and I was happy with the final settlement agreement. I wish I would have hired her in the first place. She didn't drag the process out any longer than it needed to be. I was very pleased with her representation of me in my divorce case. If I ever would have another family law issue, she would be the first attorney I would contact. You can't go wrong having Martha White as your attorney.
