I am writing to express my profound gratitude and satisfaction with the exemplary legal representation I received from Banks Weaver Law Firm and their team following my recent accident. From the moment I first reached out to their office, I was met with professionalism, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to achieving the best possible outcome for my case. Navigating the aftermath of an accident can be an incredibly overwhelming experience. The physical, emotional, and financial toll it takes on a person is often exacerbated by the complexities of dealing with insurance companies and legal proceedings. However, from our initial consultation, Sam Weaver demonstrated not only an impressive depth of legal knowledge but also a genuine understanding of the challenges I was facing. They took the time to listen to my concerns, answer my questions, and outline a strategic plan tailored specifically to my needs. Throughout the entire process, Banks Weaver and their team exhibited an extraordinary level of dedication and responsiveness. I was kept informed at every stage of my case, with regular updates on developments and clear explanations of legal terms and procedures. This transparency helped alleviate much of the anxiety I felt during this tumultuous time. Additionally, the team was always available to address any concerns I had, often responding to emails and calls promptly, which reassured me that my case was in capable hands. One of the standout aspects was their tenacity in negotiating with the insurance companies. They were relentless in advocating for my rights and ensuring I received fair compensation for my injuries and losses. Their extensive experience in personal injury law was evident as they skillfully navigated the complexities of the case, leveraging their expertise to counter the tactics typically employed by insurance adjusters. Ultimately, Banks Weaver Law Firm successfully secured a settlement that exceeded my expectations, allowing me to cover medical expenses, lost wages, and other damages. This outcome not only provided financial relief but also gave me a sense of closure and justice that I desperately sought after the accident. I wholeheartedly recommend this law firm to anyone in need of legal assistance following an accident. Their combination of professionalism, expertise, and compassion set them apart in the field. I am immensely grateful for their efforts and the positive outcome they achieved on my behalf. If you are looking for a lawyer who will fight tirelessly for your rights and ensure you receive the compensation you deserve, look no further than Banks Weaver Law Firm Thank you once again for everything!

Nearly the same as Amanda has said. This woman is an absolute crook. By the way, I'd love for someone to tell me if she has actually "retired" or she is running from a terrible reputation.....And note to Diana.....You didn't perform the services you said you had and we kept the evidence.....A Judge you may be familiar with had some EXCELLENT advice for us. Vernon Smith did not help my son at all with his aggavated assault and battery case. Perpetrator tried to climb through my son's window threatening him, and then eventually opened and tried to come through the front door. My son stopped the perpetrator at the door and stabbed him with a knife. I guess Georgia doesn't have any self defense laws. The bias and unfair Aaron Mason gave my son 20 years with only one misdemeanor on his record. Our friends and family in California just knew it was a white judge that sentenced him t 20 years. I told them no - it was a black judge which are worst than the white ones. They are brainwashed to lock up all their own people. I found out after the fact that Mason sentenced my son to 20 years because the prosecutor Tasha Mosley was getting all her information from the perpetrator's mother (whos envy and jealousy of me got her other son killed). I did not know the court system goes by hearsay saying it was over money. It had nothing to do with money. I wonder what Mason kept going back there telling the jury. He wanted my son to be found guilty before the trial even started. Mason and Mosley will be judged by the real great Judge one day. If someone tried to break into their homes with little children present I wondered what they would have done? I see now it is not about being guilty or innocent. It's about which attorney has the best acting skills. My son is so sweet that he said he forgives the perpetrator's mother, and Mason. He has had nothing but good behavior while in that hell hole that they call prison!

Attorney Smith is a great lawyer and a good person and he knows the law! When my son got in trouble I called around for help with his case. One lawyer told me that he didn't like working with schizophrenic clients. My heart was already broken and his words hurt even more. I got in-touch with Attorney Smith. He offered me honest hope and met with me to discuss my son's case. His fee was quoted fairly and I appreciate that. He did a wonderful job working with the prosecutors office--which is not easy to do in Clayton County. He treated my son with honesty, sensitivity and respect. He kept me informed and returned my text and phone calls as soon as he could. He fought to get my son the best possible outcome, the help that he needs and to keep him out of prison. God worked a miracle through this man and I am grateful!!

Attorney Robinson is a Great attorney. He was once a prosecutor so when looking for representation for a loved one I decided to go with Attorney Robinson and that was the BEST decision I could have made! At first I thought he wasn’t giving me enough details and came to understand how he moves. He doesn’t give false hopes just be patient and understand that he is fighting for his victims relentlessly! He is very skilled at his job as a defense attorney having experience as a prosecutor he knows how to prepare bc he knows their strategy. He got my children’s Father home by beating a Felony Murder case with over 10 other charges. His codefendants were found guilty but because of Attorney Robinson he was found innocent!

I'm sure lawyers are busy... and they should. I would want my lawyer to be busy for me. But I believe when people call, they make the time to contact for reasons. Mr. Ree is really busy; trust me he won't have time for you (Case started year 2012 and it’s 2015 and the case has been settled long ago but a promised check they sent out (twice) never showed up). When you call and with a very slim chance of getting through to him, he'll just make it short; say what he wants to say with only information he knows (could be very bias as he won’t listen to you) and will just hang up on you. (Does not matter how long you have tried to reach him.) His associates are best trained to NOT give you a straight answer and will brush you off without an explanation with the usual “He's in a meeting”, “he's in a jury duty”, etc. But everyone will give you different answers in short period of time thinking that you are pretty dumb.) I think it’s pretty safe for me to state that he’s very selective on whom he needs to talk to when he wants. Surprisingly he’s best line was (of the two very short phone conversation), "you don't even refer customers to me, and it's not my responsibility to make sure you (provider such as clinics) get paid. We’ll talk when you have some referrals for me." First phone conversation was literally 3 seconds, call me back tomorrow and hung up. (Wait a minute, hold off on your big case and wait on that referral, Danny who’s handling the case will said, “I have sent a check out”, he said this, twice; and when I asked for certified mail tracking number he said that is not necessary. Okay, will the check never showed up, and he said he’ll fax over a copy of the check that was sent out and he has not answered phone call nor called back since then.) I can see clearly that he'll pick and choose his cases after what kind of profit he can make off of you. What's mind-boggling is that how would he want any business referrals after this? I thought lawyers are supposed to be somewhat smart. I have heard good things about him, only to find out the opposite, which is very disappointing. If anyone asks, Andrew Ree ESQ. is not a pleasant lawyer to trust your case with. If you have a big case, trust me he’ll want your business like all the lawyers in town. Please don’t waste your time with Andrew. I hope this helps some people. I would want to refer my business and people I care to someone with some morals and ethics as I have seen none or very little from this so called experienced "Guru." Please take your case elsewhere for your sake. I’m not sure this was just one bad case or this is their “pattern” but I can assure you and be warned that it won’t be pleasant. I don’t generally write reviews, at that a negative one, but I thought I spend some time to reach out to have any prospects to think over before you bind your self to a signed contract.

I hired Mr. Honore a few summers ago for a probable cause hearing. The outcome of the case did not go in my favor, and I felt that a large portion of it had to do with the fact Mr. Honore did not properly prepare for or understand the nature of my case. I was subsequently found charged with a crime in which my opinion I should not had been charged with. Had Mr. Honore exhibited more due diligence, I believe the case would have been dismissed and would not have lingered in the court system for an additional 2 years, in which I had to hire another attorney who had the case dismissed. Mr. Honore never even bothered to give me a call about the case or what happened to it. I woukd not recommend him for any criminal law services.

I have dealt with Deming Parker for 23 years and until now, my service has been superior. However, this year I have waited 5 weeks for Attorney Phelps to write a letter on my behalf, I called on a Wednesday for an attorney call back and it is Tuesday and I STILL have not spoken to an attorney about my matter!!!! The young man on the phone was rude and condescending and not one person has said "I am sorry you are having these issues" or even acted like this was unacceptable, which apparently this is the standard of their service these days! Someone at Deming Parker needs to get their head out of the sand and fix these problems NOW!!!

This law firm is the worst. Michael Peterson acts like he is interested when you are about to give him your credit card number on top of your legal shield. Then as soon as you pay he treats you like you the bad person. When you request a refund, he keeps charging you even though he filed papers saying he is no longer you attorney. This law firm made me cancel my Legal Sheld. They owe me $1000 but even though they have not been my attorney for 2 months they keep sending me invoices for the work. I am down to $200 now. I wonder if I will even see that or will they send me another bill. This place is a joke, bottom feeder attorneys.

I cannot emphasize enough what a scam this lawyer is. We hired him for a car accident death lawsuit, expecting professional help. Instead, he was completely useless and opportunistic. He took one-third of the insurance company's initial payout without doing any work. We could have handled this ourselves without his so-called 'services.' His lack of effort, empathy, and integrity was appalling. I deeply regret hiring him and strongly advise others to avoid this lawyer. Save yourself time, money, and frustration by finding someone who genuinely cares about their clients and delivers results. Despite his lack of help, he promised we would receive a portion of his earnings, but he failed to follow through and even claimed we were getting a deal because he wasn’t charging more. Only one star because I can't rate lower.

What an Entertainment Lawyer Can Do for You

An entertainment lawyer specializes in legal matters related to the entertainment industry, including film, television, music, publishing, sports, and digital media. They assist artists, creators, producers, and companies with contract negotiations, intellectual property protection, licensing deals, royalties, and disputes. Entertainment lawyers also help clients navigate complex industry regulations and ensure their creative rights are protected.

Whether you're an actor, musician, producer, writer, or influencer, an entertainment lawyer can help safeguard your rights and ensure that your business deals are legally sound.

When Should I Hire an Entertainment Lawyer?

You should consider hiring an entertainment lawyer in a variety of situations, including:

  • Contract negotiations: If you're signing a contract for a film role, recording deal, or publishing agreement, an entertainment lawyer can review the terms and negotiate on your behalf to ensure your interests are protected.
  • Intellectual property protection: If you're a creator (musician, writer, filmmaker), an entertainment lawyer can help secure copyrights, trademarks, and licensing agreements to protect your work from unauthorized use.
  • Disputes or litigation: If you’re involved in a legal dispute, such as breach of contract, copyright infringement, or defamation, an entertainment lawyer can represent you in negotiations or court.
  • Representation agreements: If you’re hiring or entering into a contract with a manager, agent, or publicist, a lawyer can ensure that the terms of representation are fair and comply with industry standards.
  • Royalties and licensing: If you're licensing your work for use in film, TV, or digital platforms, a lawyer can negotiate royalty agreements to ensure you receive proper compensation.
  • Talent contracts: Whether you are hiring talent for a project or negotiating your own appearance or performance fees, an entertainment lawyer can ensure the terms are legally binding and beneficial.
  • Film and television production: If you're producing a film, TV show, or other media project, a lawyer can handle contracts with crew, talent, and distributors, and ensure that all legal aspects of the production are covered.

Hiring a lawyer early in your entertainment career or project can prevent costly legal mistakes and protect your creative and financial interests.

What Does an Entertainment Lawyer Do?

An entertainment lawyer provides a range of legal services to professionals in the entertainment industry. Their responsibilities often include:

  • Reviewing and drafting contracts: Entertainment lawyers review, draft, and negotiate contracts for talent, production, licensing, distribution, and endorsements. This ensures that the terms are fair and protect their client's interests.
  • Securing intellectual property rights: They help clients obtain copyrights, trademarks, and patents for their creative works, and assist with licensing those rights to third parties.
  • Negotiating deals: Whether it's a film deal, music contract, publishing agreement, or endorsement, an entertainment lawyer ensures that their client gets favorable terms and is protected from potential legal pitfalls.
  • Handling disputes and litigation: In cases where contract terms are violated, intellectual property is infringed, or other legal issues arise, an entertainment lawyer can represent clients in negotiations, arbitration, or court.
  • Advising on industry regulations: Entertainment lawyers help clients navigate industry-specific laws, such as union regulations, labor laws, or FCC rules for broadcasting.
  • Managing royalties and residuals: They assist in tracking and collecting royalties or residuals for music, film, television, and digital content to ensure clients receive the compensation they are owed.
  • Talent agreements and representation: Entertainment lawyers often work with talent agents and managers, ensuring that their clients' representation agreements are legally sound and financially beneficial.

How Are Entertainment Lawyers Paid?

Entertainment lawyers may be paid in various ways, depending on the type of service provided. Common payment structures include:

  • Hourly rate: Many entertainment lawyers charge by the hour, with rates typically ranging from $250 to $1,000 or more, depending on the lawyer’s experience and the complexity of the case.
  • Flat fee: For specific legal services, such as drafting a contract or filing a trademark, some lawyers offer flat fees. Flat fees are common in simpler or one-time transactions.
  • Contingency fee: In some cases, especially when working with talent, entertainment lawyers may charge a contingency fee, meaning they take a percentage (usually 5% to 10%) of the client's earnings from a particular project.
  • Retainer: For ongoing legal services, such as managing contracts and royalties over a long period, a lawyer may require a retainer fee. This is an upfront payment that covers future legal services, and the lawyer bills against the retainer as they work on the case.

It’s important to discuss fee structures with your lawyer at the outset to ensure you understand the total cost of legal services.

How Much Does an Entertainment Lawyer Cost?

The cost of hiring an entertainment lawyer depends on the complexity of your legal needs, the lawyer’s experience, and the type of fee arrangement. General cost estimates include:

  • Hourly rates: Entertainment lawyers typically charge between $250 and $1,000 per hour. More experienced lawyers with extensive connections in the entertainment industry may charge higher rates.
  • Flat fees: For simpler services like drafting a basic contract, flat fees can range from $500 to $5,000, depending on the complexity of the agreement.
  • Contingency fees: Lawyers working on a contingency basis typically charge between 5% and 10% of the earnings from a project or deal. For example, if a lawyer helps you secure a $100,000 film contract, their fee might be $5,000 to $10,000.
  • Retainers: For ongoing legal representation, retainers can range from $2,500 to $50,000 or more, depending on the scope of the legal services and the length of the engagement.

Always discuss the costs and fee structure during your initial consultation to ensure that the services fit within your budget.

How to Check the Credibility of an Entertainment Lawyer

To ensure you are hiring a reputable entertainment lawyer, take the following steps to verify their credentials and experience:

  • Verify their bar status: Check with your state bar association to confirm that the lawyer is licensed to practice law and has no disciplinary actions against them.
  • Look for entertainment law experience: Review the lawyer’s website or professional profile to ensure they specialize in entertainment law and have successfully handled cases or negotiations relevant to your industry.
  • Read client reviews and testimonials: Look for reviews on platforms like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, or Google to see what previous clients say about their experience with the lawyer, especially in terms of contract negotiations and industry knowledge.
  • Ask for references: A reputable lawyer should be able to provide references from past clients who have worked with them on entertainment-related matters.
  • Check for industry memberships: Membership in entertainment law organizations, such as the Beverly Hills Bar Association Entertainment Law Section, can indicate a lawyer’s dedication to staying up-to-date on industry trends and regulations.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To get the most out of your first consultation with an entertainment lawyer, it’s important to come prepared with relevant documents and information. Here’s what you should bring:

  • Intellectual property portfolio: Provide details about any copyrights, trademarks, or other intellectual property you own or are seeking to protect.
