I’m so glad I chose Josephia Law. I’ve been in divorce proceedings for over a year now. And every step of the way the people at Josephia Law have been prompt, professional, compassionate, and knowledgeable. The attorney on my case is Massa Massaquoi-King. I’m lucky to have her on my case. She is very knowledgeable and experienced. She’s also very attentive, I don’t have to explain things more than once and she will let me know the best way we should proceed.
Not only is she great at her job, she really cares. Up until recently, my wife was not allowing me to take my son to see my family without her. Recently at the merits hearing for my divorce case, Massa displayed her knowledge and experience in that courtroom. The judge gave an order so that I can spend more time with my son on a schedule. Coincidentally, outside the courtroom my 3 year old son was waiting for us to finish. I picked him up and my son and I both thanked Massa because it was going to be the first time he was going to be able to spend with me and my side of the family for the weekend. It was an emotional moment for all 3 of us outside that courtroom.

DON'T GET SCAMMED!
Before I signed on with this firm I talked to Ms Rouse and explained my financial situation. She assured me that I wouldn't have to constantly dump money into my trust (which was a lie). After giving them 10k with no results, they droped me because I couldn't afford to give them $2500 for an upcoming court date. I went with another lawyer who handled my case for $1500 with excellent results. When my new lawyer reviewed what was previously done, he found several documents were filed incorrectly and I was charged each time they had to resubmit them. Mass King is a joke! She showed up to a virtual hearing looking very unkept (with 6 month old box braids). I was embarrassed. There were several reviews about how this firm takes people money and literally drop them right before court. I wonder why you can't see them anymore......

Atty Valkenet is a very straight forward kind of guy. Very knowledgeable, honest and to the point. No sugar coating. Provided key details as to why this situation would be a very difficult situation. Even though not exactly what we were hoping to hear, we respect his insight and direction. Jeff Kaplan is by far the best attorney!!! My husband has been in back forth custody disputes for almost 10years, and has had his fair share of different attorneys, but when Jeff became his attorney, it was a complete game changer. He worked with us even on weekends. Via texting, in person, and emailing if needed. Don’t assume that if you get an attorney through Legal Aide that you won’t get excellent results, because this clearly wasn’t the case. My husband gained full sole custody of my stepdaughter fighting a really ugly custody dispute. Jeff works a lot of different cases, but he made time to help us win our case. I would DEFINITELY recommend him to anyone looking to win!

From the first day we started working with Mark he was completely honest and candid about what he could or couldn't do. He also had an air about him that showed he was confident in his ability and presented his record of success but also failures. You have to be confident to be able to do this. He gave us an overview of the process to have our child placed in a private academic site. This was great because before working with Mark we had no idea of what to expect. Setting expectations was something that he does extremely well. I went to several meetings with Mark and he was always listening and asking questions which shows he was trying to get a command of his facts before speaking. There was no grandstanding involved in his approach. When he spoke it was for a purpose. When it was time for him to speak he held the room and he was direct. And when he needed to he was AGGRESSIVE, precise and fought for my son in a way that I never could have. Mark also has relationships that extended beyond our case that actually helped him to understand all parties involved and strengthen our argument. I never felt like he didn't have control of the situation. He also worked very well with the all of the therapists that were to be involved with our case. All of our therapists said they had heard of Mark and that he was good. If we had any questions, he made time to call, text, email or use any other method just to keep me calm. This made a difference. He also helped me understand there are certain things I should and shouldn't say about our son when asked by the opposing attorney. I should also point out Mark was never late and he always stayed afterwards to have frank discussions with me. In the end my son got everything he needed and more. Mark made sure everything was in writing and properly managed. He even set up a meeting that I couldn't get with the private school. I would have to rate mark as being outstanding.

My family hired Mr. Martin to represent our son in a case against the Baltimore County School system. Our son recently moved from a public school to a private school because of his learning disabilities. Although BCPS was aware of his issues, they denied him services for 2 years which resulted in our son falling two years behind in his education. After consulting with Mark about our case, we were more than confident that we had found the right attorney for this type of law suit. Mark came highly recommended to us and his past work on cases like ours only made us feel that we were definitely going in the right direction. Mark and his staff were extremely professional and efficient. Within months we were on our way to Mediation. Because of Mark, we settled at mediation and were reimbursed by Baltimore County Schools for our sons tuition. I talked to Jay today on the phone about a problem I had with credit card dept and he went above and beyond to help me with all my questions he is a very nice guy and he put me to ease about the problems I had .He was very knowledgeable about all the laws and what could be done and what could not..thanks to Jay I will be able to sleep tonight in peace !

My ex employer has been harassing me on social media, through the horse community, and the court system. They had filed a fraudulent peace order against me and appealed the decision. The resulted in me having to go to court. I called jay, met him that day and the next thing I was on his caseload. Jay went to court with me and not only protected me, but he dominated and had everything dismissed.
