A Miracle in Baltimore City: Our Journey to the Right Educational Support
Our story began in 2021 when we relocated from New Mexico to Baltimore City during the height of the pandemic. We were in search of educational and health services for our five-year-old daughter who is on the autism spectrum and has special needs. As physicians, balancing both the stresses of the pandemic and the complications of the educational system was a struggle. Our frustration grew when we couldn't get our daughter screened for Kindergarten through the Child Find Office, and after several disheartening interactions, we were unsure of where to turn.
That's when we reached out to the office of Mark Martin and connected with the remarkable Alexandra Rosenblatt. From that moment on, things began to shift. Alexandra was a beacon throughout the long and difficult road. She attended every step of our IEP development, providing insight, advocacy, and unwavering support. A federal indictment should be soon for this office for the amount of money stolen from their clients. This office represented my wife grandfather personal injury and wrongful death case. Peter was hired in December 1996, a year after opening this firm. My wife father died from asbestos lung cancer in 2003. Sadly, the estate only saw 100k over the past 20 year and her grandfather never received the settlement money neither did she or her grandmother who are both named in his Will. To this day, this office is sending small checks to the estate but have claimed over 40 million of dollars from the companies trust funds in relations to the injuries and deaths of their clients.

My daughter, who has a diagnosed cognitive disability requiring specialized teaching, was struggling in school. Despite the clear necessity for a specialized placement, the IEP team was refusing to place her in the appropriate school.
After trying to advocate for my daughter in two different counties in Maryland for three years—with no success—I contacted Allie. From the moment she took on our case, things began to change. If I could give zero stars I would. My husband and myself had a bad experience with Marcy Block. We dealt with her for approximately 4 -5 years. We trusted her to handle our issues with our taxes. We took for granted that everything would be resolved. Recently, we received documents from the IRS that not only going into collections, but she failed to file some of our taxes from previous years. My husband had to hire a representative from Optima Taxes in order to avoid having our wages garnished. This experience has taught us a lot, and it is unfortunate that we had to endure this entire ordeal.

They are quick to take payment for service but extremely slow to do anything. Huge lack in communication and you will go weeks without hearing from them. I got back a very small tax return even with being a first time home buyer that year. I would not recommend anyone use this company for taxes. Even TurboTax is better.

Terrible communication.
Took my $500 and did nothing.
Didn’t answer calls or emails. Office was filthy and unorganized. I would not recommend. It feels like a scam almost. Although I did meet him in person he’s unfortunately did nothing for me or my case what so ever. Especially when you’re looking for representation that reflects you. Praying for his company and professionalism.

Brad filed for a warrant motion recall when he should not have, just to take my money. I had hire another attorney first and I should’ve stayed with him. My son was falsely accused and he was found innocent from questioning, so the detective told me that I didn’t need an attorney. I told Brad macfee and he acted like he was in shock. If I would not have said anything about a refund he would’ve kept my money. I paid him $1500. Who would allow someone to keep their money for nothing. Not me! He told me that he would give me my $1000 back. He got his secretary or whatever she is working from her home, because he has no office to send me an invoice. Saying that he charged me for my affidavits $300 for an hour. We never talked about that, if we did I would not have agreed to that is what I texted him. He never called me back and he ignore my calls after the day he told me a lie about my money. I called and texted a week later asking about my money and Liz said that she didn’t have my address, but Brad had it. Poor communication on their end. I went to her address to pick up my $825 check. I wouldn’t recommend him to a cat. This is what I text Brad and he just read my messages everytime that I text him. Coward

Brad Why didn’t you tell me that I was being charged for the affidavit statement. I would have never agreed to that. You also made it like the warrant would be recalled, because you sent the affidavits attached. You knew that it wouldn’t work, because Rodney told me that it was denied and you knew that. And turn around and misrepresent the truth and you didn’t disclose an affidavit fee. I should’ve stayed with Rodney. it was all about money.

Brad was the worst lawyer EVER he stole over $500 and never returned my money he played so many games and never barely called us. Not to mention it was like pulling a persons heart out with your bare hands. That’s how hard it was to get in contact. He has a iPhone so I would see him many times read my messages and keep them on read. I guess it’s no surprise we lost our case. He was the worst ever and I wouldn’t recommend him for not even the simplest case. PLEASE DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!

I was referred to Hurst Hessey by a friend of mine once my ex-wife decided she wanted to separate and divorce. From the beginning I found Hurst to be straightforward and honest. He stated from the beginning it would be a challenging case and it would be better to litigate the marital separation agreement out of the courtroom. What began as a case with very little in my favor — ended with an agreement that was in the best interest of my child and me. I know that if it was not for Hurst’s consistent presence and counsel the agreement would not have ended with the same result.
Hurst always made me feel as if I was the most important case he had even though I knew he was quite busy. For that I am grateful.

Nice enough over the phone, I retained Hurst Hessey to help me with a custody case. Paid my retainer and met with him an hour the day before court to discuss the case. All down hill from there. We met at the Towson courthouse and he was late. He appeared disheveled and while I cannot prove it I would swear he'd been drinking. The fact of the matter is that I was going into court with an attorney that did not even know I had twins! Yes, he actually forgot that we were going to court for custody of my son and daughter TWINS. How do you forget that? Court was a joke, lasted a few minutes, and I accomplished less than I would have if I would've just filed some do-it-yourself forms on my own. Hurst walked me out to the garage after court and I asked if we were done and he told me "I think I might actually owe you some money." Weeks later I received another bill for over $900. To this day I still have no clue what this bill is for. For fear of an attorney's wrath I thought of paying it, but why, when I legitimately did not owe it? I received no follow up, no nothing. To this day Hurst Hessey refuses to return copies of documents to me that I provided to him at the start of the case. These were the only copies that I had. He has literally blackmailed me and said he will not return my documents until I pay this mystery balance. I've been waiting for my documents for 5 years, yes - FIVE YEARS. This is the most no-professional lawyer I have ever encountered. I asked for a break down of the services that created this bogus invoice and I was simply told that he did not have to furnish one because his books were in order. He may be good in other matters, but in terms of family law do yourself a favor and skip Hurst Hessey.

This is a racist law firm.
1) An African American attorney was fired for wearing braids.
2) I was fired after an White Male attorney saw me on my lunch break simply laughing with friends.
3) My work and a Hispanic male work was always wrong. After receiving the same document back, looking like a F graded school paper, we presented the updated document to another attorney. Again the document was returned looking like and F graded school paper with voluminous strike outs. It was ALL ABOUT THE (MINORITY ) MESSENGER AND NOT THE MESSAGE.
4) Knowing to I use public transportation, 1 attorney would always want to begin an assignment at 5 p.m. leading me into a conference room. I was so afraid walking to and standing at the bus stop. I did not hand out in the dark on my personal time.
I don't know why this firm has not been sued and dismantles! I did not have solid proof of their negligence, and disrespectful for those who did mot look like them! There is still JUDGEMENT DAY!
